MISSION The mission of the Indianapolis Art Center is to engage, enlighten and inspire our community by providing interactive art education, outreach to underserved audiences, support of artists and exposure to the visual arts.

WELCOME! Join us for a summer of art education, fun and new friendships! In the Indianapolis Art Center’s Summer Art Camps and Teen Intensives, students work with professional artists to explore new media, improve their artistic skills, express themselves creatively and gain a deeper appreciation for the visual arts in a nurturing artistic community. We believe that by participating in the creative process, campers will develop communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills while they gain a deeper appreciation for the visual arts. Campers will enjoy all the perks of attending camp at the Indianapolis Art Center. Each week campers will work in professionalquality studios and have exclusive access to the Art Center’s galleries and 9 ½-acre outdoor art garden, the ArtsPark, which is filled with murals, installations and outdoor sculptures. Each camp is led by a Teaching Artist and a Camp Counselor with an adultto-camper ratio of 1:10. Our staff is excited to work in a fun atmosphere and we look forward to a wildly artistic summer with you and your family!

THE CAMP DAY Campers will participate in a mixture of learning, art making and exploration. Along with making original creations, campers will learn and be inspired by the ArtsPark and gallery spaces. Creative group activities and breaks will take place outdoors. Each week will conclude with a celebration of the campers’ work in a student-led art show for friends and family.

Things to remember:

• • • • •

No summer programming during the week of July 4. Doors will open at 8:30 am. Art is a fun and messy activity. We recommend that campers wear tennis shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Need aftercare? See details on page 13 about our Creative Aftercare. All art materials are provided! We welcome campers enrolled in digital art camps to bring their own cameras.

MIX & MATCH! Campers can combine any two half day camps to make it a full day experience!

TUITION ASSISTANCE The Indianapolis Art Center provides full and partial tuition assistance to eligible students with an easy application process.
