INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL 2018 e are back for the 18th edition of our metal festival in Norway! This makes us the longest living metal festival in this country – by far! And what a year this is going to be! We are bringing back Emperor and Satyricon to where they belong – in the heart of Oslo – the venue that is also known as Rockefeller. The legendary death metal band Obituary and doom metal kings Electric Wizard are visiting us for the very first time. Carpathian Forest and Odium are having a return to the metal scene. Also returning for the festival are mighty artists as Dark Funeral, Tsjuder, Napalm Death, Grave, Necrophobic, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Djevel. Too many to mention. Let's just say 2018 is going to be a hell of a year!

his time we have four full days at Rockefeller and John Dee. This will of course make the logistics easier for both us and the audience, but most important is that we can present more of the bigger bands with one more day at Rockefeller. The attention we have gotten this year has been huge. The Inferno hotel, Scandic St. Olavs Plass, was sold out a long time ago. While writing this it seems like also our second hotel, Scandic Holberg, also will sell out. The festival passes for all four days have also been sold out for some time now, and the same with the passes for Friday and Saturday. At the moment there are just a few passes left for Thursday and Sunday. Since we have more tickets out this year, as we have one more day at Rockefeller, Inferno 2018 will make a record in the number of visitors. We thank you for all the support and we will give back by giving the best festival experience you can ever dare to dream of. Welcome to Inferno Metal Festival 2018!

o, following our unholy tradition, Inferno was properly «kicked off» in the bar at the festival hotel with flooding food, drinks, music, quizzing and pictures on the big screen. DJ Ugh played an exquisite set of new and old metal tracks, the perfect soundtrack for the thirsty Inferno family! The big star of the evening was undoubtedly the freshly brewed Inferno beer, so we had to get the verdict from the Inferno family.

BEER TASTING SESSIONS TO TASTE OR NOT TO TASTE! e’re teaming up with Norway’s oldest brewery, Aass Bryggeri, and Bryggerhuset for this year’s beer tastings. The tasting sessions takes place at the Suffløsen room, deep down in the basement at Scandic St. Olavs plass. Here you’ll be tasting various beers, as well as the brandnew Inferno festival beer. Get the background and the inside knowledge, while comparing them different flavors and aromas. Out host is Espen Smith, a Norwegian beer critic, well known in Norway from television, talk radio, newspapers and magazines where he gives his open opinions on the newest trends in food, beer and liquor. SO, WE ASKED HIM TO GIVE US SOME FLUID FACTS ABOUT THE BREWERY AND THE PROCESS OF MAKING OF THE INFERNO BEER ass Bryggeri is Norway’s oldest brewery, founded in 1834 in Drammen. 184 years later, we are still located in the center of Drammen city and are still 100 % family owned by the Aass family. Bryggerhuset is Aass Bryggeri’s Pilot brewery: in the Pilot brewery we are

dedicated to experimenting with beer and our mission statement is to develop new types of beer as well as experimenting with different techniques, raw materials and approaches to beer. In Bryggerhuset, we brew 1.000 liter batches of new beerstyles for the
pub/restaurant-market in kegs. When beers that are developed in the pilot brewery are in high enough demand, we scale up the recipes and release them for the general public in bottles or cans. To date, there are four Bryggerhuset beers available in super markets, as well as two different vintage Christmas beers at the Wine Monopoly. he Inferno festival beer was developed in cooperation with representatives from the Inferno Metal Festival being highly involved in both the planning and the actual brewing process. The beer is a golden coloured lager beer to ensure a crisp finish and a high drinkability. The beer has an abv of 4,7 % and is brewed with an abundant amount of Amarillo hops added late in boil as well as in dry hop. This hop variety gives the beer a fresh and enjoyable aroma and flavour with notes of tropical fruits and citrus as well as a firm bitterness which compliments the malt back bone.

After living in Afghanistan for seven years, Australian filmmaker Travis Beard began recording his friends to chronicle a part of Afghan life that is rarely shown in Western media. The film features never before seen footage of Kabul and the underground party scene, at odds with an extremely conservative society. To challenge conflict with culture, District Unknown literally put themselves and their followers in the firing line. We watch as the five unassuming

Rockabul: Q&A with director Travis Beard/ Argus Productions After the screening of Rockabul director Travis Beard from Argus Productions will be answering any questions you may have. Travis Beard worked globally as a photojournalist for twelve years, visiting Afghanistan for the first time working in refugee camps in
Nimroz in 2001. He returned in 2006 to work as Chief Editor of Aina Photojournalism Agency. He’s an Advisor for the Afghan women-focused M2M (Mountain to Mountain). In 2007, he moved into videojournalism. Ultimately, he founded Argus Productions, which provides numerous media services, as well as Combat Communications, an umbrella group for artists in Afghanistan.
HEAVY TRIP (2018) This is the story about a Finnish death metal band, Impaled Rektum, that have the chance to
fulfill their highest dream – to perform at a Norwegian metal festival. The only problem is that the band has to drive from Finland to Norway as fast as possible to get there in time for the festival. Join this symphonic post-apocalyptic reindeergrinding christ-abusing extreme war pagan fennoscandian metal band on a wild road trip that contains vomiting, grave robbing, fake vikings and the first ever armed conflict between Finland and Norway! The evening 20:30: Vorbid will take place at Hard Rock Cafe Oslo and be free of charge for 21:30: Tantara those with a 4 days festival pass and for those with accreditation 23:00: DJs for Inferno Metal Festival 2018. Tickets must be exchanged to wristband between 14.00 and 20.00. If you don't have a festival pass you can still get in for 150,- NOK. VORBID
TANTARA
Vorbid is a progressive thrash metal band from southern city of Norway, Arendal. The band was formed in October 2013 and has since its inception developed quite a unique style of thrash metal. They mix the riffs and the intensity of thrash with the technique and the melodies from prog rock. Vorbid will release their debut album «Mind» on the 13th of April.
The Norwegian old-school thrash outfit Tantara is bringing the genre back to its roots, combining heavy melodies, fast riffs and complex song structures. The band was formed late 2009, when the four members decided it was time for another great thrash wave. Since the release of their debut album «Based On Evil» in 2012, they have shared the stage with bands such as Kreator, Havok, Destruction, and many other great bands. A brand new album, «Sum of Forces», will soon hit the streets!

Nihil Nihil is a French artist who lives in Norway. In 2014, he exhibited his art at Inferno Metal Festival. His works of art are inspired by Indian and Nordic sacred texts, medieval religious art, psychedelic trips and life experiences in hospitals, his work reflects on transcendence, identity and individuality. His pictures will be presented at the Rockefeller venue.
Costin Chioreanu Costin Chioreanu is a Romanian graphic designer, illustrator and video artist. Some of his more renowned collaborators are Ghost,
At the Gates, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Darkthrone, Napalm Death, Arcturus, Ulver, Enslaved, Triptykon, Decide, Mayhem, My Dying Bride, Wardruna, Paradise Lost, Sigh, Necrophagia and many others. At Inferno Festival 2018, Costin Chioreanu will celebrate the 15th anniversary of his design studio Twilight13 media, with a very special and exclusive exhibition; namely none other than Emperor's ÂŤAnthems to the Welkin at DuskÂť with all new artwork which portraits that albums terrific atmosphere. This collection will be shown at Scandig St. Olavs Plass. Costin will also show other works at the Rockefeller venue.

Kjell Åge Meland
David Thiérrée
Kjell Åge Meland is a Norwegian artist who started his first steps on Frøya – an island on the outer coast of Norway. Concerning that time, he says; «Its desolate and windblown landscape inspired me greatly from an early age – so did dark music and its visual aesthetics. I could sit for hours staring a-gasp at my aunt’s LP albums: «Afterburner» by ZZ Top, «Sacred heart» by Dio and Deep Purple’s third album with its wonderful Hieronymus Bosch montage». His works will be presented at the Rockefeller venue.
David Thiérrée is a self-taught French artist. Since 1989, he has commissioned metal bands worldwide, worked against the fantasy genre and has 2 dedicated books to his art on the conscience where the latter is authored by the not-unknown Dayal Patterson. David will exhibit new and not previously shown work at Inferno. David is headhunted by Inferno. His work will be at Rockefeller in the lounge area.

Daria Endresen
Raina Vlaskovska
Daria Endresen is a Norwegian artist with expressions in photo and digital art. About her inspirations it is written; Daria Endresen draws her inspiration from her most intimate, personal stories. Observatory and sensitive, Daria creates surreal dreamscapes, drowned in icy atmosphere and laden with pain and mystery. She will have her art for viewing at the Rockefeller venue.
Raina Vlaskovska is a photographer specialized in historical photographic processes. She has mostly been dedicated to the wet plate collodion process which is one of the first photography process invented in 1851 and was the main photography medium till 1880. Having the incredible opportunity to meet and portray some of the emblematic black metal musicians of the Bergen's black metal scene she starts a long-term photography project of intimacy closed up portraits. Raina Vlaskovska lives and works in Bergen, Norway. Her works will be at the Rockefeller venue.
