Wow, I just got back from a FANTASTIC networking lunch with the Infinity Networking Group and a bold, confident, charismatic and inspiring speaker, Steve Schorr. Welcome to our two Year Anniversary Issue of the Infinity Business Magazine. It is amazing how time goes by so fast, but one thing I can tell you is, I have learned so much in these 2 years both good and bad. One of the best things I have learned is that people love to read all the business related articles and I have been thanked so many times for giving business owners a magazine that allows them to gain knowledge from any or all of the articles published. This is a great feeling because I have always said, "if I can just learn one new thing each time I see someone speak, or from something I read, it was worth the investment of my time." Our goal from day one, was not to just publish a business magazine that is full of ads, but to give business owners good advice, education, motivation and knowledge with each and every issue. This issue I asked Mr. Steve Schorr to be our cover story and I was so honored when he said yes. Mr. Schorr who spent 26 years as a VP with Cox Communications adds tremendous value to the Infinity Business Magazine, as well as our advertisers and readership. As we move into year three I am very excited to take the Infinity Business Magazine to the next level. We really believe we have something unique in our magazine. With only one other business magazine in Las Vegas and with Infinity Business Magazine circulating for two years now, I feel this is a perfect time to build on the momentum. I look forward to this challenge and am very excited for it. With the help of our sales team, A&D Designs Inc., and the Infinity Business Media Group, the future looks bright.

P L A NFORN SUCCESS ING Written by: Dana Earhart Litif Time is a precious thing. A scarce commodity that most of us wish we had more of.

down three or four intentions for the day. Before doing anything else you MUST accomplish those tasks.

How are you making the most of your time, day in and day out? Hint: The answer should be planning.

If you aren't able to complete everything on your planner, DO NOT see this as a failure, instead focus on celebrating what you did create and/or accomplish. You simply didn't finish and are aware of what's first on tap for the next day's business.

While the idea of planning may not invoke excitement at first, it is a habit or "muscle" that should be worked out consistently on a daily basis to really reap the biggest rewards. In this case it will result in improved efficiency, productivity and fulfillment in a day well spent. It only takes 20-25 minutes (sometimes less)… that's it, I promise! The truth is, the sooner this becomes a daily habit, the more efficient you'll become, requiring less time. I suggest planning the night before, so you wake up knowing exactly how your day will best be spent from the time you wake-up, to when your head hits the pillow. Why should you plan? A morning planning session is your chance to:

Schedule your most demanding activities when your mental energy and focus are at its best; for most this will be first thing in the morning. At the end of the day, reflect on how your day went, and then prioritize your next day accordingly Now for a little bit of homework, and trust that you WILL be thanking me for it later on! Every day for the next week I want you to have a planning session. Each night (or first thing in the morning if you prefer) set your daily intentions, prioritize your activity and visualize how your day will unfold. The idea is to create a new habit that will encourage you to serve more, earn more and enjoy more!

Ÿ Set the daily agenda and map out your time/opportunities Ÿ Prioritize tasks for the day Ÿ Keep track of progress for goals you've set Ÿ Start your day off right by being focused, organized and

intentional Where Do I Begin? If the idea of planning out each and every day seems daunting to you, don't worry, you're not alone. To start, set aside this time and keep it uninterrupted. This means no phone calls, email or social media. Keep things simple, don't overthink your planning: Pull out a piece of paper (or your Daily GPS Planner) and write

DIGITAL MARKETING PPC Search vs PPC Social Over the last few years, PPC advertising on social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn have become very popular. While PPC on social networks are a vital part of digital marketing plans, it is important not to get carried away by their hotness quotient, and shift budgets from PPC search to PPC social. Here are five reasons why: Social media boredom: According to digital marketing research by various agencies, users from many demographics are displaying signs of social media fatigue. This includes early adopters and younger, smartphone users. As social media ads are served based on profile info rather than behavior, it is expected that your targeted audience will see your digital marketing ad a lot. This could cause banner blindness, resulting in abysmally low click through rates. It is easier to harvest demand than to create it: Digital marketing activities for improving search engine rankings also build brand awareness about a company and enhance demand. There is nothing better than PPC search for harvesting this demand at an opportune time, when users are ready to call, register or buy online. Unlike PPC social, PPC search assures you of getting a direct response from customers, as well as increasing awareness and brand recall. Not enough information on social media sites: A large number of profiles on social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn have insufficient information about the owner, preventing digital marketing specialists from properly targeting interested searchers. Even though social media websites are working hard to gain as many users as possible, they are not encouraging these users to fill out their profile information, which is essential for targeting purposes. Incorrect information on social profiles: Many people are prone to lying on social networking websites. While millions of profiles are totally fake, a large number of profiles have outright lies, boasts or flourishes added to them. In such a scenario, how are digital marketing professionals supposed to target their ads, when the targeting information given in profiles is itself wrong? A ‘like’ does not help much: Ads on social media sites like Facebook simply take the clicker to the Facebook business page of the company. The most that digital marketing specialists can expect out of this action is a ‘like.’ As such, a ‘like’ does not guarantee that a user will definitely view ones messages. Page 10

QUESTION:

By: Dawn Ferriera

This is a question millions of people ask themselves everyday. For some the answer is yes. How can I say this? Simple, because we are all wired differently. Some people enjoy the consistency of knowing they get up, go to work, do what is required of their position and know on Friday they are getting their check. In all honesty, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Most successful companies cannot exist without reliable employees. So, the question is, how do you know if you are an employee or a future entrepreneur (FE)? Let's examine what I call the employee mentality (EM) versus the entrepreneurial mentality. Page Page14 14 Page 14

Infinity Infinity Business Magazine INBLV.COM Infinity Business Business Magazine Magazine ||| INBLV.COM INBLV.COM

The employee mentality (EM) is about consistency. EM's generally do not like or adapt well to change. They like the security of knowing that they go to work, get their check, and pay their bills. They like knowing if they don't like their job they can always move on to something else. Of course the downfall of the EM is they are limited in their income to what an employer is willing to pay for their skillset. Now those who are in sales teeter on the line between EM & FE, which we will discuss later. Now of course many of you EM's reading this will say, "Hey, I don't fit into that description, I like my job and what I do", and I will respond with, "Yes, there are exceptions to every rule. However, what is stopping you from doing what you like but instead doing it for yourself?" This question generally results in many reasons, no money, no time, my family needs the steady income, etc. All of these are very valid reasons but they also do not stop the future entrepreneur (FE). The future entrepreneur (FE) is a risk taker, doesn't fear change and, using the tired but applicable phrase, thinks outside the proverbial box. The FE wants to create something that is needed. Whether it is a product or service, they like the satisfaction of doing things their way and might possess a bit of a controlling nature. Their income and success depend all on them and they are ok with that.

What I am going to explain throughout this article is a way to start your own business. DON'T BE AFRAID. Words that bears repeating. Don't be afraid. Fear is an emotion that can stop us from doing anything. Of course fear comes from weighing the results of the consequences to our actions. For example, of course we know if we jump off a cliff there is the possibility of serious injury and death. These are consequences that you may not come back from, so weighing the risk is expected and let the fear keep you from doing it. The reward can be the thrill of doing something and overcoming your fear but is the reward greater than the risk? However, the consequences to the risk of starting your own business are two-fold. One, the risk can be minimal if managed properly but the rewards can be financially beneficial. RISK VS. REWARD Let's examine the risks and rewards of starting your own business. 타 Risk: Loss of regular paycheck

Reward: Ability to increase your overall income Next, we have the sales persons who, as stated earlier, are on the cusp of being an EM and a FE. The sales person mentality is they work for an employer but are usually on commission and therefore their compensation is based on the amount of work and effort applied. Their income is not guaranteed like that of the FE. Thereby they are taking on the risk of their income potential. A good sales person believes in themselves and is not afraid of putting themselves out there and getting told no multiples times throughout the day like an FE. They take the no, pick themselves back up and move on. TYPES OF FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS. While I mean no disrespect to our readers who may be participating in a multi-level business or home business opportunity, these are not the same as owning and operating your own brick and mortar or online business. Yes, it is admirable that you have taken the risk as your income is based on your sales but you are limited by the company you contract with. MLM companies tout the benefits of being your own business, but they set your sales limits, your recruitment levels and some require monthly purchase of products. You have little to no control over the company name, reputation and marketing. You have little control over the overall success of the company. These are all factors, which in my opinion, is the safe zone between being an independent contractor and a business owner in the trues sense of the word. I think MLM members are missing out on the opportunity to be truly independent and make themselves financially successful instead of the company they represent. But this can be debated at another time. Right now we will focus on starting your own business.

타 Risk: All Decisions are yours to make and can lead to

making a bad decision Reward: All Decisions are yours to make and can be positive, as well as, learn from your mistakes 타 Risk: You might not be good at doing everything that goes

with running a business. Which includes sales, marketing, and accounting Reward: Overcome this by learning the basics and when you are financially growing you can hire/outsource to others with experience to do those things which you don't have the knowledge base for. 타 Risk: You might not succeed

Reward: Not succeeding the first time gives you the ability to see your mistakes and when you are ready to try it again you will know what to do different. Plus, you will always have the ability to get another job. The world will not end if at first you don't succeed. Not everyone is lucky enough to have their first try be successful. There is an 80% fail rate within the first 5 years of a new business. Many entrepreneurs have tried several times before they finally find the perfect product or service that works for them. I personally have had a couple of business ventures fail. But the one thing I learned is "I" was not a failure but the execution of my plan was. What I learned from those experiences is I didn't have the contacts in the field in which I was going to pursue.

If you feel you are tired of being the forever employee and believe you have the characteristics to be a future entrepreneur then I recommend you keep reading.

Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

Page 15

While the idea was unique and probably may have succeeded eventually, but not having contacts or knowledge within an industry was my missing piece of the puzzle for success. However, you pick yourself back up and move on. How do you choose the right business? This can be the hard part. Determining what business is right for you can be a daunting task. First, start off by what you know. Examine your past work experience, a hobby or an idea that can solve an existing problem. BUT, you want to make sure among one of the traits to have is that the product/service is something you enjoy and have a passion for. Starting a business is hard enough; never-mind throwing in a product or service you really don't enjoy but are only doing it for the money. Next, Research; do copious amounts of research. You can perform this research online, speak with other owners in the business or make use of the Small Business Administration’s Small Business Mentor programs. Research is important to determine your buyer base, sales projections and overall profitability. Lastly, determine the funds needed to start. Is it something with very little start-up capital, can you start part time to build it so as not to lose your current income or must you put all your money and time into your venture. If your answer is the last one, then you must plan to have other funds to survive on whether it be a working spouses income or savings to get you by until you start showing a profit. The Overnight Success! A dream that only exists for the lucky few. Don't believe the hype. ‘The overnight sensation,’ ‘The greatest and latest product makes a millionaire overnight.’ These all sound great but rarely happens. So having the strength and tenacity to get up every day, start all over again, for little to no rewards has to be in you. However, when you finally start to see the fruits of your labor and actually take your first vacation you will be enjoying it more than ever.

Coca Cola

The Power of a Brand By: Bob Zurn There are few images as recognizable throughout the world as the Coca-Cola brand. Travel to the furthest reaches of the globe and you will probably encounter it on a clock or a sign, if not on the drink itself. Marketers today look to the CocaCola brand as a model of marketing power. Its image has transcended national borders and cultural barriers to reach almost everyone on earth. How did the Coca-Cola symbol become such an omnipresent image? Beginning in 1886, Coca-Cola president John Pemberton began traveling the country introducing pharmacists to the drink. At that time it was considered a medicinal substance that could relieve headaches and other minor woes. Candler distributed clocks, calendars and other items laden with the Coca-Cola logo as he toured the country, spreading the brand and selling his product. From there the brand continued to penetrate further around the world. The bottling rights to Coca-Cola were sold in 1899 and in 1915 the Root family submitted a standard size bottle for distribution, but it was too fat in the middle. The Coca-Cola Company liked the bottle so much they thinned it down and has been used ever since and is called a Hobbleskirt Bottle. By 1920, with new bottlers springing up all the time, the brand had expanded into Cuba, France, Puerto Rico and other territories. Its world dominance would increase further with

Page 18

World War II, when Coca-Cola promised that "every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever he is, and whatever it costs the company." Suddenly Coca-Cola could be found throughout Europe as American GIs carried it with them, and by 1960 the number of countries with Coke bottling plants had doubled. Today Coke remains a powerful brand with over a century of history behind it. As a result, items featuring previous incarnations of the Coke image have become classic pieces of Americana. The success of the Coca-Cola brand has made it an icon not just in the world of brand marketing but of American history. It symbolizes the popularity of a soft drink as well as the dominance of American entrepreneurialism in the twentieth century and beyond.

What's Your Excuse for Not Being

Successful in Your Life... By: David Neese

Excuses! Excuses! When we fail to do something we are expected to do, we almost always have an excuse for it. However, if we analyze it closely, an excuse is a self-destructive alibi for having failed to do something, especially when it involves attaining a goal. Instead of trying to persevere in finding ways to continue achieving a goal, some of us resort to excuses. Even having a disability cannot be used as an excuse. Many disabled but determined people have become achievers and champions. Instead of using a disability as an excuse, let us turn it into an asset. Let us explore this further. A disability need not be a reason for failure. On the contrary, a disability can be a reason for success. People with a disability always have an offsetting strength that allows them to overcome problems better than others.

can either be physical, financial, or emotional. And they can either be real or imagined. Whenever we look at a disability, we almost always look on the negative side only. It's about time we take a look at the positive side of it. The positive side may be the difficult side, but it's the one worth looking into. It's the side that is going to lead us to excel in life. If you think your disability is physical, like having a weak body, you can counteract this through proper diet and training exercises. As long as the physical parts of your body are intact and mobile, there's no reason why you cannot make it strong and useful. Why? Even those without a leg (for example) can be made to walk or run normally. With the advancement of science, artificial legs can help a disability function with great mobility.

A person with a disability has one obsession; to lead a normal life. Depending on the disability, a person would prefer to be as independent as possible. So they struggle and find ways to overcome their impediment. When they are able to achieve their goal, this raises their selfesteem. In turn, it inspires others Everybody has disabilities in varying forms and degree. That is why; it requires effort and determination to overcome them. Disabilities Page 20

Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

If your disability is financial, then the more reason you have to rise above your present status. And if your financial status limits your educational attainment to improve your life, the school is not the only place to learn. Certainly, there are help centers to get you started even from zero level. Once you are initially warmed up with the basics of an education, the rest is up to you. Make use of libraries. Once you are educationally equipped, use your brain and come up with creative ideas to improve your life.

If your disability is a combination of any of the physical, financial, or emotional type, congratulations. You should strive more to overcome them, because a double layer of perseverance results to more than double the achievement. Where the odds are greater, the prize gets much bigger. After all the efforts you have exerted, the prize of success shall be a well-deserved one. So what's your excuse for not being successful?

If you are emotionally disturbed with negative thoughts, it is like you are sitting on a chair with wobbling legs. Try sitting on a chair with sturdy legs; meaning, look at the bright, positive side of life. Put aside negativity and start thinking positively. The only one who can stop you is yourself.

At 9am on a Monday morning as Nicole begins to work she notices that her email is down. She tried to open some other programs and they were not responsive either. Okay, she thinks to herself, it must be the Server and I need to reboot it. She pushes the button to restart the server and something is not right. Her server is buzzing and the smell in the room is that of burnt computer chips. She receives calls from every department in her building getting reports that all functions are down. Now she has to call her IT support company and she hopes that the backups are good. The IT Company comes and

tech talk

If our server crashes can I still use my programs? Backups are imperative to the continued success of the business. It's a known fact that 89% of businesses fail when they have a catastrophic data loss of vital business information. That's why having a backup both onsite as well as off site is very important. Cloud servers will give you that and more. They will give you Business Continuity, a planned

assesses that the mother board has failed and announces they have to take the server to the shop for repair. Two weeks later, the server has not returned. Disaster builds as the bills come in, payroll needs to go out, invoicing needs to be completed, quotes, proposals, follow up, sales, and marketing still need to function, but can't. This is a real life problem that potential clients come to me with all of the time.

set of activities which are intended to ensure business operations will keep going despite a disaster. When you experience a server crash, the plan kicks in and all programs move over to another server, therefor end users can still use the day to day programs without a hitch. Unlike the story above all departments will function. The IT department however must focus on getting hardware, moving systems around, replacing hard drives, and solve other issues. Every business should have a continuity plan.

Here are 3 different problems that growing companies face when the Server goes down:

Businesses need to be sure that they have the correct Windows Server edition on their server.

1) 2) 3)

A Server is the life blood of the company…any down time is not acceptable. Backups are good, but continuity is better…you need to know the difference. You could have the wrong operating system… this will cost you time and money.

If your server mother board dies, so do your profits. How do you get another one? Think of your server as a powerhouse computer that will run multiple programs for multiple users simultaneously. When it is down you need to get it up as fast as possible in order to minimize loss. Dell is a great choice because it has an option of a 4 hour response warranty for hardware failure. Once you are back up and running, you need to begin the data rebuild process. If you had the proper backups and business continuity you would be up and running in hours not days. Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

Be sure that your server operating system is not bound to the hardware. In the story above if the operating system was tied to the hardware (motherboard) then you would need to purchase a new Microsoft Windows every time the hardware fails. This can be costly, so verify that you have the best IT Company guiding your business software purchases. As your business grows your technology needs vary. As a small company you can get by with a few computers. As your company continues to grow you will need a network of computers for different departments. Later on, you will need to store files and share data between these computers. The need for a computer tech increases along with your growth. When your processes keep growing, it is then that you need a Server to handle that kind of workload. When you get a server and have it set up, it is not just a set it and forget it. Servers need consistent backups, service and protection in order to retain profits and propel your growth. Page 25

IT’S THE Business of Business… a Look Inside BY: S T E V E S C H O R R

I love the wisdom of Dr. Seuss. So simple yet so intense. We all think, at times, that Life and Business become so complicated when in reality it is the simple things we can do to bring about greater success. Take my own Life as an example. Since I first started working I have had four different careers. First restaurants and being a chef, next a radio newscaster, on the heals of that a television news reporter and news anchor and finally a business executive. Each one very different from the other, yet the transition was easier than I thought…the reason…I didn't make it complicated. How much in your Life, especially your Business Life, do you make it complicated? How many roadblocks do you put up to halt your potential for success? How much do you believe in your ability to become a success? When my career ended with Cox Communications, where I dedicated a quarter-century of my Life, I thought I would just do a little here and there to try and get by. Sounds simple yet I made it very complicated. Cox was a great company to work for and together I thought we did amazing things together. Here's where I made it complicated, I wanted to do the same by doing a little here and there..NO! It didn't happen. You cannot do a little and expect a lot so for me it was starting yet a fifth career, I needed that community connection again! Since I always enjoyed TV I started my own TV show called "Under The Vegas Sun" highlighting the movers and shakers of Las Vegas. It was tough in the beginning yet as the third season began, now in over 200 cities around the US and six foreign countries, I saw a need for greater expansion. I became President and CEO of Vegas Life TV, a network now that creates and puts forward new TV programs. A simple idea made larger. So why share this…We all learn through experience. Both, our successes and our challenges in Life, teach us great lessons if we just listen. Too often we think we know the answers because we are afraid to see the light from a different angle. In my Life I am far from being over. I know there is something greater for me just around the corner and I am ready. My question is: Are you? My experiences have given me some wisdom and it is that which I share: 1.

2.

Never, Never allow failure to become a part of your vocabulary. The moment you admit that you have failed it becomes a negative part of you that will enter every time you face a battle. There are only challenges and victories, never failures! Make Peace with your Past so it does Not spoil your present. It is always great to know those things we might have done better or those challenges we could have made a victory if we just took that extra step. Those are all learning experiences! It is the future that should brighten your day…not the past.

insights. No one has all the answers but sometimes it is that instinctive feeling you get in the pit of your stomach that can be the right answer. You must renew your passion for what you do each and every day. Never fear what tomorrow will bring because that Fear will halt success! 4.

Make a difference each day in your work, your family, your business and your community! Life is an ongoing battle against the plusses and minuses. We all want success to be ours! We all want a brighter future. You have to believe that those small opportunities in life and business are just the beginning of greater achievements that you have yet to gain. Who is that individual at the end of each day that you see in the mirror before bed. It is YOU and what have you done with your day? Believe in the power of YOU if you want others to do the same!

None of us have all the answers, far from it, but my experiences in life have given me insights, which I love to share. There is a saying that goes "Smile you don't own all the problems of the world." I have changed that a bit. "Smile you don't know how much joy the world is yet to behold for you!" Business and the Business of Business are not easy but it can be enjoyable if you give it a chance. Don't make everything too complicated, don't let Success go to your head and don't ever give up on the challenges! Strive for victory every time! It will not be easy but if you know you have given it all you can, who knows what is just around the corner.

I opened with Dr. Seuss I will close with Mr. Schorr:

Never let succ ess get to your hea d and never let f ail get into your h ure eart!

. 3.

Stop thinking too much; it is all right not to have all the answers. In business it can be that gut feeling that pushes you past the 'has been' to the 'will be.' Trust who you are! Trust those feelings. Gain those Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

The Mindset for Successful Micro-Preneurs By: Rodney Rich

There are millions of ways to make millions of dollars. That being said, many business owners get pulled in a thousand different directions. Like the latest book talking about a new business concept or idea. The market is flooded with people selling the next new business concept that will change everything for you. The truth is, it all boils down to some very basic concepts and foundations. Once you have a strong foundation then you can experiment with new concepts. It's all about the basics, the fundamentals of business and sales.

Page 32

Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

1. Focus on opportunity instead of security If you are like many entrepreneurs, you have had a job and been an employee. What most people fail to realize, is that this created some very bad habits and thought patterns for becoming a successful business owner. An employee's mindset is all about security. As an employee one of your main concerns was keeping your job. Your financial reward became a security blanket. You lived every day in the world of security. As an entrepreneur, if you live in the world of security you won't survive very long. You must learn to live in the world of opportunity. Opportunity is where your focus must be. You can gain security but only through searching for opportunities. Opportunities to sell more, expand and grow are critical to business success. We get what we focus on. If your focus is on security you won't be able to see the opportunities. 2. Focus on what sells instead of what you know Sales drive all business. Money is not made unless a sale takes place. A common trap is that people will pay you for what you know. This concept is mostly untrue, there are exceptions in professional practices such as law and specialized accounting. For all other business the focus has to be on what sells and how fast it sells. The common cause of business failure in America is not undercapitalization; it is selling at insufficient prices or not selling fast enough. "Knowledge + Credentials - Sales = Bankruptcy" is a great formula to remember. 3. Focus on getting results instead of following routines When you are an employee your success comes from showing up and following the rules. More so than the results you produce. Showing up in your business doesn't create success, getting results is what creates success. In the job world efficiency is key, and in the business owner world effectiveness is key. Let me explain this with some simple definitions: Efficiency is doing the job right. Effectiveness is doing the right job. Routines are only successful if they are effective. Focus on RGA = Revenue Generating Activities.

4. Focus on earning a profit instead of a paycheck Owning a business is not solely about the money coming in the door, but about how much money is going out the door. A common mistake happens when the old employee mindset creeps in and you focus on your paycheck instead of the profits of your business. If you gobble up all of your profits with your paycheck, you will be left with no capital to expand or ride out the storms that will come. This is where a Strategic Business Plan comes in to play. If you fail to focus on profits eventually there will be no money for a paycheck. It is about priorities, the business must survive before you can. The business must be successful before you can enjoy the fruits. Focus on your paycheck and you will soon find yourself running a struggling business. 5.

Focus on trying new ideas instead of avoiding mistakes Unfortunately most of us are a result of the school system. What I mean by this is that we learned from a system that is based on one premise; not making mistakes. You lost points on test and assignments for every wrong answer or mistake. Your grade and reward was based on how well you did at avoiding mistakes. It is no wonder so many people struggle with this in their business. We had years of this indoctrination. The struggle is that you are always looking to not make a mistake. What is the "right" path to take? How do I hire the "right" person for the job? How do I find the "right" prospects? These thoughts run rampant in the minds of business owners, because it is a result of their training as a child. To help you, let me share something with you that I have found very valuable and enlightening.

“Success is the result of making good decisions Good Decisions are the result of good judgement Good judgement comes from experience Experience comes from bad judgement - Anonymous Philosopher

Jerry’s Corner

Blog Networking

What is your Style? Selling or Relationship building? Written By: Jerry Zimmerle

So when Infinity Networking Group started, I had no idea if any of the things we were doing would really make a difference in my business. I had hope, but hope was all I had. As a member of the Infinity Networking Group from the beginning my life was very different. I struggled for every dollar and there was not a lot of business coming in. The business that I have now was just a dream back then, but here's how it grew over time! A colleague of mine, Dennis Cicala, said to me, " they have this golf networking thing over at Wildhorse. You should go check it out as I can't go today." That was Page 34

the day I met Jill Branson of Jils Jewels and that was enough to change anybody's life for the better! We had an amazing time. In fact, I believe they still use some of those pictures in our promotional materials today. Interesting enough as I sit here writing this... It all started with just a little bit of fun! It really is that simple isn't it... If we enjoy ourselves we will return and if we are enjoying ourselves we are attractive and if we are attractive, people will want to do business with us, right? I would say that most companies do a pretty good job servicing their customers. For example, let's take

Infinity Members Dennis's company, Steamatic, and Todd Thompson’s company, TRS. I can guarantee you they do great work just like my company, Absolute Flood Response and AFR Construction. So, if you buy into the idea that most reputable companies do pretty good work, how do you stand out, how are you different? When we're out here competing for business, what do we do? The only answer I can come up with is to embrace our individuality and really serve others by enjoying their company. People can tell if you like them when you first meet. I cannot explain it but you know exactly what I am talking about. Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

How do you show your individuality at your networking events? Have fun with the people in the room. Maybe you're not a joker or don’t feel comfortable having fun with strangers. That's ok. How about caring? Can you show that? I realize we are there to make money and grow our business but what if everyone showed up with the intention of just growing the other guy’s business. What would that look like? Can you picture it? Do the math and imagine how much more business would be written. Can you tell the difference between someone being naturally curious about your business and someone selling you something? Do you arrive at your networking group with the desperate need to grow your business? I have… I have had a bad attitude and it never once has worked for me. Have you found yourself mumbling to yourself about the referrals that you get from your networking groups? Have you ever found yourself wondering why you Infinity Business Magazine | INBLV.COM

don't get more referrals from the group? Have you actually gotten mad before you went into the meeting and said if I don't get a referral from this group I am going to drop out? I certainly have… I certainly have been bitter! It doesn't work very well though. It puts me in a foul mood and it almost always just simply gets worse. I think as we embrace our individuality we will attract more people and in turn attract more business. Specifically what I am speaking of is going to the meeting with the attitude; I'm going to have a great time today. I am going to be myself. I'm going to serve others. I'm going to help them any way that I can. I am going to enjoy absolutely everyone I come into contact with. I'm going to greet everyone with a smile and shake their hand and I'm not going to pitch anyone and I'm not going to sell! When it's not about me I attract more people, and it's very interesting they will ask me what I do and will ask for my card. When people like you,

51% of the sale is already made! I am honored to be a part of Infinity Networking Group because of the relationships I have made. These friendships have changed my life forever. I have a whole new set of amazing people who love and care for me during hard times and good times. I am supported and appreciated for just being me, and there isn't a better feeling in the world and in fact I believe it's the need for love and attention that makes the world go around not money. Money is just one of the tools we use to reach and influence people, but it will always be trumped by true emotion and respect for our community and everyone in that community, not just the people we are naturally attracted to. I challenge you to find something to respect about everyone and declare your respect to others. Start some uplifting conversations with others around you and watch your business grow.

Experiences

Active or Passive

What have you learned from your experiences? What are your values? What matters most to you? The more aware you are of you, the more you are Master of your Life. Some people drift through life without direction, purpose, and lacking a sense of selfworth. They are like sheep, following the flock, without their own identity. Or some people are like zombies, the walking dead, numb to feeling anything and simply existing from day to day.

Understanding how the mind and body work together allows us to take an active role in thought and choice. Instead of being passive and vulnerable to the whims of our thoughts and feelings, with awareness of how our mind and body work, we take charge of our lives and become the director, orchestrating the life we choose to live.

Awareness You have incredible powers that you were born with and they are there for you to tap into whenever you choose to use them. The mind is extraordinary. We think it resides in our brain, yet, if you examine the brain, there is no part of it that is "mind". Mind is thought of as spirit or soul. The brain is the physical headquarters of the mind, and the mind emerges from the brain at work. The mind is not a thing, but rather a distributed process. Consciousness is awareness and being aware is the gift. Awareness of awareness gives you power. The power of choice/free-will.

It’s All Connected Cognitive behavioral therapy is the foundation of coaching. Therapy is about healing and healing is about change. Coaches are not therapists, however, coaching is very therapeutic because it promotes healing and change. Coaches, like therapists, are trained to ask questions that allow the client to seek the answers within them. The process is very simple and very complex. First comes awareness of a behavior, then the behavior is tied to a thought and the resulting feeling or emotion. The thought is examined for its validity and the possibility of another perspective that might create a more pleasant emotional reaction and therefore a preferred outcome. Sounds pretty simple, and yet, deep beliefs held onto for years are often difficult to

let go. Change is desired and at the same time, change is feared.

Choice Nothing has meaning except the meaning you give it. Become aware of your thoughts. They arise from an experience. You make a judgement on the experience (you give it meaning) and that creates a thought. Thought determines how you feel (emotionally and physically). This affects what you do! Now you have choice. What judgments are making throughout the day? Follow the trail that leads to your feelings. What you do is based on your feelings. At this point, before you react, stop, and check in with your self - are you operating at choice or are you on automatic pilot?

Businesses that do not have any online video marketing strategies are now being left out in the dark by companies who invest in this strategy. Many have enjoyed great success in generating leads and converting users into customers after watching videos that gave information that they need regarding the product or service that they are considering to use. . Prior to setting out any campaign, you should see videos that have been rewarded in promoting a product or a service. You must be aware of the essentials employed in the media as you want to create something close to the original one in terms of concept, taking care not to copy it. The original video will only be used as a guide to make your video "the talk of the town" but will not stray away from its main purpose, that is, to promote your brand. You may opt for a spokesperson or brand ambassador, making sure that this individual should be able to become an example or a role model of your product or service and be someone that has the capability of being believed. Your creations should be handled by experts. The most satisfactory ones appear refined and edited thoroughly, and for viral ones, they are shot in a candid manner. For a brand however, it is ideal to make a clean and orderly video by hiring a good videographer or a creative agency to give you a hand on this. In online video marketing, not only will you place or host your videos in one location but you should make it a point to make sure that the video spreads rapidly to your users and to subjects that are on your target list. YouTube, Vimeo and MetaCafe are considered to be some of the ideal websites that host content anywhere in the world. They also have the most number of subscribers every day, thus, you have a larger chance of being appreciated and watched in these sites than anywhere else. You can post the links of your videos in your social media profiles to promote your videos to your current market. Your official fan page on Facebook, or your corporate account on Twitter can promote the link to your website and your followers will be able to spread it around further to their network of family and friends. When your video becomes successful, you should do a followup in order to create a good following and get a solid grasp on your market while expanding to new users. You can create an article that supports favorably your video in order for it to garner a larger number of potential clients. Creating such avenue will aid in search engine enhancement and even have your website get satisfactory ratings in the results pages every time an inquiry is created. By: Brian SD Scott How To Create And Edit Your Own Personal Or Business Video

Before moving on and highlighting details, it is essential to mention that companies might hire professional services to do all of the above functions. Many big businesses hire professional experts to develop, edit and upload their videos online for effectively marketing their products and services. However, as technology has advanced so much today and there is so much software available that it is easily possible for businesses to develop, create and upload their own videos by themselves without asking for any expert hand. Also many companies provide free software and free software tutorials which can help a naive marketer to learn how to develop and edit an effective video with up-to-date features himself and how to upload it to the company's website and various other sources. Today it is relatively easy to record videos and place them online, unlike a few decades back when you needed huge budgets to create it. Today in order to develop it all you need is basic camera, a computer and a hi-speed Internet connection (DSL or Cable connection) For a basic start, a flip camera is usually a quite good option to use as it has all important features, with a direct USB connection to your PC and can produce amazing results if used to its full capacity. Apart from this, you can use a camcorder to record your video and then you can transfer the video to your PC. Once you transfer your video successfully to your PC, now it is time to edit you video. Video editing today has become relatively easier and affordable, thanks to the internet. You can get several free video editing software packages which can make your life easier, just try a simple Google search. Also there are a variety of firms offering video editing programs online for some charges, carrying additional and advance features. For example, some intense software program enables you to add sound track or narration, get rid of unnecessary shots or scenes, incorporate appropriate video effects and add titles. Hence, the more the cost the more the benefits. However, an online marketer should go for the program that well-serves his/her needs. It is also essential to note that no matter how advance video editing program you have got, you must need creativity and imagination to drive optimal results. Some basic things you need to consider are: Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ

Think first what your target audience want to see in the video How long should the clip be? Make sure that it is neither too fast, nor too slow Ensure optimal quality Ensure perfect audibility

You can add endless features to improve your video’s productivity.

Video marketing offers a variety of benefits to increase traffic towards your websites and to increase your profits; once you decide to add video on your website, the next step is to create, edit and develop it. This takes three steps: record, edit and upload your video to your website.

COULD YOU USE A

“STOP DOING”

LIST?

“By the time I explain it to someone else, I could have done it myself.”

Fix-A-Dent

By: Inez Ng One of the tried and true organization and time-management tools is the trusty old ‘to do’ list. I was trained to diligently put one together at the end of the day for the following day, and whatever tasks I failed to complete, to carry it forward. This system has worked well in helping me prioritize and focus. But I have also heard many of my colleagues complain about having too much on their list, and feeling very discouraged and overwhelmed by the sheer number of items on their ‘to do’ list. To help ease the overwhelm, I want to introduce the concept of the "Stop Doing" list. I first read about the "Stop Doing" list in ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins. He stated that one of the commonalities of the companies who were able to propel themselves from being just good to being great is that they all looked at what they were currently doing that they needed to Stop Doing. I am implementing this idea in a slightly different way, but I think a "Stop Doing" list can actually help your productivity and effectiveness. So how do you decide what goes on your "Stop Doing" list? Here's what I suggest you do. For the next week or two, each time you work on your "to do" list (and if you are not using one currently, I strongly recommend you start), or blocking off time for specific tasks in you planner, ask yourself this question: "does this task add value or generate positive results for me and my organization?" If the answer is no, it should go right on top of your "Stop Doing" list. If the answer is yes, ask yourself a second question: "am I the best person to do this task?" The first question tells you whether you can eliminate a task. This question tells you whether you can delegate a task. I know for solo-business people, you automatically think that you have no one to delegate any tasks to. But actually, that might not necessarily be true. Today, there is a whole network of virtual assistants who can handle a myriad of administrative work for you. Some accept work by the hour, and some accept work by the project. For some people, you may have to then overcome your resistance to delegating. I've heard many of the reasons. Do these sound familiar? Ÿ By the time I explain it to someone else, I could have done it

myself. Ÿ I can't trust somebody else to do it right. Ÿ It costs too much money.

The Body Shop

Some of these are completely legitimate concerns. However, before you dismiss the idea, consider the following: Is the task so repetitive that the up-front time investment to train someone is actually worth it 3 months down the road? Are you the most qualified person to complete the task, or could someone else do it in less time with less effort for better results?

If you didn't have to do the task, what would you choose to spend that time on, and what impact will that have on your business, or your life? So, after considering these tough questions, add your delegated task to your "Stop Doing" list as well and send them elsewhere, and I guarantee you will feel better.

Auto Repair

Although I wrote this article for people struggling with overload at work, the same approach can be applied to create a "Stop Doing" list for home. Think of the possibilities. You can delegate laundry, and cooking, and yard work, and cleaning, and what else? Seriously, the current state of our lives is that there is generally too much to do and not enough time. So, go through this exercise at least once and see what you can shed from your "to do" list. If you like the results, then establish a routine and do this every 6 months or a year. The point is that you want to spend your time on high impact tasks, and work that you enjoy. Page 49
