Egypt and Greece: Myths, Fascination, and Seth’s Story According to Plutarch

Did you know that the Greeks regarded Egypt as the cradle of humanity’s knowledge and wisdom?

This might surprise you, but during the pre-Hellenistic period (the early days of Greek civilization), the Greeks were so curious about Egypt that some traveled to this enigmatic land. There, they discovered vast knowledge, art, culture, and profound wisdom, all accompanied by the captivating beauty that welcomed travelers everywhere they went.

Upon their return, these travelers shared their experiences, inspiring Greek art to take cues from that mysterious land. The foundation of Greek art was heavily influenced by Egypt; their sculptures reflect the same canon seen in Egyptian art.

The fascination was so immense that even when Greece was flourishing in its own right, its citizens remained enchanted by Egypt. One notable traveler to Egypt was Plutarch.

Unfortunately for Seth and the Egyptians, Plutarch’s visit resulted in a particular story that would leave an indelible mark on history: the myth of Osiris. A major difference between Greek and Egyptian beliefs is that in Greece, there are good and bad gods, and concepts of good and evil are absolute. In Egypt, however, there are no good or bad gods—just gods, who can make mistakes. Similarly, there is no dichotomy of good and evil, only balance. Nothing is inherently good or bad; things simply are.

This philosophy deeply influenced history. Plutarch wanted to bring the stories he had heard back to Greece, but to make them understandable for the Greeks, he altered them.

According to Plutarch, Seth desperately desired the throne above all else, but his brother Osiris was chosen instead. In response, Seth plotted to take Osiris’s life repeatedly. After Osiris was resurrected several times, Seth supposedly dismembered him, scattering his pieces across various locations.

In reality, this version is inaccurate. Ra and Thoth, among others, voted for Seth. However, when Osiris won, several gods, including Seth, conspired to kill him. During the coronation celebration, they presented Osiris with a coffin tailored to his measurements, claiming it would belong to whoever fit inside it. His death was not a recurring event, nor was he dismembered. Osiris was drowned by several gods who disagreed with his ascension.

By presenting a distorted version of the story, Plutarch cast Seth as the villain, leading to his abandonment by his priests, who shifted their allegiance to Osiris or Horus. Seth lost his followers due to a tale adapted for Greek audiences.

But I won’t leave this story on a sad note. With the resurgence of the Egyptian religion, known today as Kemetism, Seth has once again been worshiped, and his reputation is gradually being restored.

I believe my diverse background as a dancer, actress, producer and entrepreneur, along with my varied experiences, and adaptability are key elements that have shaped my personality over time. I consider my core traits to be my outgoing nature, eagerness to learn, engagement in new activities, and relentless pursuit for progress. From an early age, I valued talent; developing new skills and evolving every few years is like essential oxygen to me and a genuine reflection to my habits. I have worked diligently to excel and diversify across different fields, enhancing my knowledge and awareness to ensure a harmonious coexistence between my creative aspects as a performer and as a businesswoman.

How did you begin your journey in [your field/ interest]? Could you take us through the key moments that have shaped your path so far?

my love for writing, media, and marketing that took many years to develop in the world of commercial print advertising.

I started my career as a dancer, later an actress and producer. Utilizing the skills I built in those fields, I evolved and became an entrepreneur, owner of One Circle Productions and Senior Vice President of Tru Universe.

While I still love playing different roles, writing & storytelling, producing comes easy as I’ve always liked the entrepreneurial path and putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Every change brings new opportunities and if you act upon it, you find yourself in a new chapter. All you have to make sure is to keep the progress organic. For example, in my current Senior Vice President role at Tru Universe and as Forbes Council, I bring

What inspired you to pursue [your field/ interest], and why is it your chosen path?

Inspiration for my multifaceted career choices comes from my drive to reinvent myself at any stage in life and to look for opportunities to develop new skills, teach others what I have learned, and be a leader.

Are there specific individuals, mentors, or role models who have had a significant influence on your journey?

I sure follow many different likeminded individuals who love to explore and doubt the system and the world we are living in.

I tend to have several different characters in different fields that inspire my outlook. All the individuals I look up to question the world. They are all truth seekers and out of the box thinkers.

Could you share some of your most significant or memorable achievements or experiences in your field or area of interest?

There were many monumental moments and achievements throughout my career that shaped my path. For instance, in the dance world, getting into my first Broadway show, Cabaret, which led to my artist residency in Monte Carlo. As an actress, my first TV series on Comedy Central led to other great movie roles. As a producer, opening our first play on Broadway with A list actors was a great achievement.

The highlights of my acting career definitely go hand in hand with my evolution to producer and creating my own full service production company. Being in front of the camera and behind the camera are two different perspectives, but what I love the most is being in the driver’s seat, rather than just going along for the ride.

As a writer, I am proud of my book, Anonymously Famous ™️, which led to the development of a clothing brand, financial payment platform, and an upcoming podcast.

As the Senior Vice President of Tru Universe, I have achieved many milestones in the world of Fintech, but most recently I am particularly thrilled to be part of the Forbes Council community.

Looking back, what do you consider your most important work or contribution to date, and why?

I really do not consider any singular project or achievement something I would refer to as my “most important” work or more significant than other work because everything is relative.

All stages of our careers build on the last stage and without a pivotal event that may have altered our course, the next milestone may not be possible. What I believe is that I strive to be effective, dedicated, and persistent at every single stage in life or career.

At the end of the day, the work speaks for itself and it is all meaningful to a certain extent because what we bring to the table in one era can serve as inspiration for someone, while what we create and accomplish at another stage can motivate another person. I am here to live the best life that I can while accomplishing things I love so that I can inspire and leave my mark. So far, I believe I have done that, but I will continue to reach for more goals and keep moving forward.

FUTURE PLANS AND ASPIRATIONS:

What exciting projects, goals, or plans do you have for the future in your career or area of interest?

The most exciting project is my upcoming Anonymously Famous Podcast, currently in development, the theatrical release of my movie Arugam Bay, where I executively produced and acted in, and the writing and development of a new TV series based on a true story.

How do you see your field evolving or changing in the coming years, and how do you aim to adapt or contribute to those changes?

I believe my success in merging my artistic endeavors with the financial platform solutions is the home run plan of action. Currently, I am a resident of Miami, after living in New York City for over 25 years. I’m happy to have the best combination of travel between my three homes, New York, Miami, and Tel Aviv. There is no need to move anywhere else, yet I travel consistently for my work needs.

What core principles or values guide you in your profession or area of interest?

One of the core principles that I stand on is my desire to finish what I start. I do not like to leave anything open ended and have a tendency to push people to meet deadlines while producing excellent work. Oftentimes, people have ideas they start to develop, but give up before they complete the project or the task at hand.

I go to sleep to dream, but I wake up to execute. My word is my bond, which is why I say what I do and I do what I say. To me, this is my core integrity.

From his beginnings in Australia to his rise in Hollywood, Jackman has proven to be one of the most versatile actors of his generation.

Born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, Australia, Hugh Michael Jackman grew up in a family environment that encouraged education and creativity. Although he initially leaned towards journalism, a drama class during his university studies changed his life. After graduating with a degree in Communication from the University of Technology Sydney, he decided to enroll at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where his passion for acting truly blossomed.

His professional career began in theater, starring in various musicals and plays in Australia, allowing him to hone his

In my personal journey to break free from the stories that limited me, I developed the DODDA method. This approach is based on five essential steps: Stop, Observe, Discover, Decide, and Act. These steps guide you to pause and reflect on your current beliefs, observe how they’re affecting you, discover new possibilities, consciously decide which beliefs to adopt, and finally, take action in alignment with them.

Can a trauma be overcome? Yes!

Trauma challenges identity and resilience, but acceptance, gratitude, support, and self-love pave the way to healing. Rebuild with positivity, knowing recovery is possible and every step forward matters.

Many of us at some point in our lives have been impacted by an intense emotional shock, or we have gone through very strong negative situations, this produces a lasting imprint on the subconscious, since the person cannot, takes time or finds it very difficult to overcome it, causing a lot of difficulty in rebuilding their life again, in the face of such an episode, That is why it is important to recognize the trauma that can come after suffering a traffic accident, a kidnapping, a relationship that ends, the death of a loved one, a serious natural disaster, sudden changes, or another event that alters our emotional and physical balance, these events have a common characteristic, altering our daily life, the life we led before it.

I decided to write about this topic because one of my best friends in the famous year 2020, suffered a terrible traffic accident in which she almost lost her life; After many operations and under the worst medical diagnoses, today, even with physical, psychological, emotional sequelae, facing a difficult process, she managed to get up from a wheelchair to which she had been condemned, she is working from home, and tries to lead a better life every day, bringing out her best attitude, despite the challenges that arise. She continues in her recovery process, but with more courage, strength, life, and desire than ever, with a fervent desire to inspire many with her story, because if a trauma can be overcome, even if at the moment, we think not, it is difficult to see it when we are in a hole, in a labyrinth “with no exit” or in a very dark tunnel,

Remember, we will always find that light by having the grace and the will almost always lost in those moments of walking the path; These processes are hard, painful, they paralyze us, but in the long run they end up being the most inspiring, and powerful, when you manage to overcome it, today I tell you, do not feel alone, many of us have gone through difficult events, but, despite everything, it is worth continuing to fight, living the time we have left; That is why I want to provide you with some tools that helped my friend and other people to face her challenge, I hope, they can serve you.

ACCEPTANCE:

When in life we are presented with situations that we cannot change, those that are out of our control, the next step is to accept that event, I am not saying that it is easy or that what happened is easily approved, or that it is not painful, but it is necessary to begin the process of healing and emotional recovery. Mental and spiritual, accepting it can take time, because there are mixed feelings and we have to learn to live in a different way, physically and emotionally, depending on the new situation, but it is certainly worth it. Why? Because it helps us to move forward and get out of there more quickly, we shorten the time and prevent other disorders from appearing that severely affect our performance and quality of life, it is time to channel everything that happened, understand it, digest it, to accept it and then adapt to our new reality, it is our task, to get the right tools to handle the things that are coming, with the best attitude and no time to lose.

“THESE PROCESSES ARE HARD, PAINFUL, AND PARALYZING, BUT IN THE END, THEY TURN OUT TO BE THE MOST INSPIRING AND POWERFUL WHEN YOU MANAGE TO OVERCOME THEM”

IT IS VITAL TO HAVE A SUPPORT GROUP:

A traumatic event can trigger many emotions and physical responses, such as: anxiety, anguish, fear, depression, anger, rage, deep sadness, anger, shame, tears can come out without warning, difficulty sleeping, concentrating, stomach pain, trembling, feeling tired, exhausted, low energy, among other psychological and physical symptoms, which are mixed, which can come and go; Keep in mind that our body and mind is trying to deal with this strong event, so it is important to have a network of people, such as our loved ones, family, friends, or institutions that have support groups similar to ours, who help us deal with and face this difficult process, have those words of encouragement, or someone who listens to our story, expressing what you feel saves you a lot of problems, feelings, sometimes confused, distorted, negative, guilty, or forgetting details, having an ally is a balm, that relief that we are desperately needing to get out of that situation that keeps us in jail that that event has created; That is why I invite you to make your lifenet, that understands and encourages you, it is fundamental, I dare to say that it is one of the most important things in this process, despite the fact that you can go out alone, with a lot of patience, but if we do it accompanied it relieves us of that heavy burden, being of great support to restore that state of well-being and improve integrally faster. If you don’t have family or friends nearby, talk to a social worker, search social networks, consult a health care team or health center, go to a psychologist, ask people with similar problems; Avoid being alone, without a doubt accompanied is better, it is always nice, and gratifying to have someone by our side to trust.

A TRAUMA DOES NOT DEFINE YOU:

negative thoughts typical of the process arrives, understand that it is normal for those thoughts to pass through your mind, what is not normal is that they stay there forever, making you believe that that event now is what identifies you, defines you and it is NOT like that, you will become better if, so you decide and put all your willpower, connecting with your true essence, with what elevates you and makes you vibrate high in positive, all that is still inside you, only that a fortuitous event is occupying that space temporarily, calm is not permanent. Remember: If you want to do it, you can do it! Believe in yourself again, make the necessary changes, hold on to what you like most in life, to the things and people you love, embrace the good that is within you, and what you value about being alive, feeling, loving, wanting, achieving, expanding the greatness of your being. You are not what happens to you, you are what you overcome, with strength, grit, courage and gallantry. YES YOU CAN!

CHANGE FRUSTRATION FOR GRATITUDE:

It usually happens that people do not recognize themselves, and they perceive themselves in a different way, they do not know who they are after such a heartbreaking episode in their life, losing “momentarily” their identity, that which distinguishes you and has always characterized you, what differentiates you from others, you may have the feeling that it is no longer there, something has changed in your way of being and acting, now it is limiting and paralyzing; perhaps you thought you had the tools to overcome adversity, you even did it many times, but in this specific case you do not know how to address it, because the impact caused is greater, annulling the strength and claw that is inside you, that which has always driven you and that today, is not there, or that is what you believe now; asking you questions like, what happened to me? Am I not like that? Why me? or statements such as “I don’t feel the same” “Now I am a sad person, with no desire for anything, without goals or dreams” “I am defeated, destroyed” “I am worthless” “I have no desire to get out of bed or on the sofa” “I don’t care about everything” “life has no meaning” that is, a flow of pessimistic and

Experiencing that emotional response of annoyance, disappointment, and anger when things don’t go the way we want, hurts us more, the emptiness increases and the bigger it is, the greater the frustration, this can trigger anxiety, and other problems, which can persist over time, it is difficult to have to deal with trauma and the turbulent whirlpool of things it brings, But let’s start by changing the perspective, the way we see it, it is a step towards the definitive improvement of the situation, if you have to cry it’s fine, cry, scream, vent, free yourself, but don’t stay anchored there, it is necessary to change, transform, now focus on sowing positive affirmations in your mind, because they increase life expectancy, That will help you get out of trauma and depression, since it contributes to a frank improvement psychologically and physically, it will be an aid to lower suffering and pain, that is why I offer you a range of thoughts full of gratitude, positive that help you overcome this moment, the most important, being alive, you can breathe, listen, feel, you have a wonderful temple called body, your hands, feet, your senses, open your eyes and enjoy the colors of the rainbow, the blue of the sea, the white clouds and their magical shapes, you can contemplate the moon and the stars, you can walk, you probably have a job, be grateful for the roof, the food and its flavors, be grateful for your family, partner, children, friends, or for that, only you, know that fills you with peace and happiness, keep in mind that the most important thing is this new and GREAT opportunity that life gives you to start, be grateful for what you have, and DECIDE to get out of that bed or the sofa, take a shower, Enjoy the water that falls on your skin, give yourself a smile in the mirror, a hug, put on your favorite perfume and piece of clothing, put on happy music, feel, and dance, look at the trees, plant one, enjoy the landscape, sunbathe and fill yourself with its energy, enjoy a sunset, go for a walk, live in the moment, paint a picture no matter how it turns out, create something, we will never know what it is that triggers us in a positive way and gives us back the will to live, with more strength, power and joy; do not allow

sadness and apathy to win, push yourself a little every day, more and more, insist, persist, resist and come back a thousand times to try, let gratitude be the best audio you can dedicate to yourself every morning when you wake up, live, seek peace and be grateful for the present, we are what we think, THANK YOU LIFE, because to live you just having you is enough for me.

AMATE ONCE AGAIN:

To lift your spirits, your self-esteem after suffering a trauma can be a titanic task, accepting yourself with new scars of the soul and/or body is worth an effort, incorporating the new facets and managing the aftermath being vulnerable, having little confidence requires a lot of openness, care, kindness, affection, and attention on our part, the help of a therapist will also be crucial, If necessary, go to one. At the beginning of this article I told you that my friend suffered a terrible accident and these tips are what have helped her to take this path that she has had to travel in the best way, for example loving her body after so many surgeries in different parts, such as the abdomen where they needed to stop the internal bleeding they had to cut part of the small intestine; She was also subjected to other foot and hand operations to fix fractures, among others, it has been part of her challenge, added to the fact of having to endure, endure and live with physical pain and the recovery it represents is not easy, now it requires different care, her body underwent changes and it has taken her a while to love it, To understand it, for this it is necessary to have consideration, esteem, accept the feelings we have for ourselves, recognize the origin of this new challenge and be able to raise our self-esteem, we must compete with ourselves, and not let ourselves be defeated by apathy and the negative of the situation, do not stop, keep going, we have to move forward, now we are facing, to a new physical appearance, the change of our personality, attitudes, character, behaviors, adjusting all that requires a lot of patience to face those challenges, and thus increase our quality of life, we must regulate emotions, do not blame yourself, treat yourself with a lot of love, affection and respect, you are worth it, know your new version and embrace it as the most precious gift it is about you, of your life, your body and emotions, do not judge yourself or allow anyone to do it, stay away from toxic people if necessary, love your body, maintain your personal hygiene, from your authenticity discover the beauty that lives in you, you are amazing, go at your own pace, do not try to please others by going over your limits, learn to say no, take care of your mind and seek to generate an environment of harmony and peace.

CELEBRATE SMALL ACHIEVEMENTS:

Being in this vulnerable situation, where the circumstances of your life have changed dramatically, but now with more encouragement to move forward it is important that you start celebrating those small advances that will lead you to achieve your final goal, it is necessary to clarify that this will not happen from one day to the next, everything will be the product of perseverance, the effort, the support received, your desire, no matter how limited they may be, and those little steps that you accumulate along the way; It’s okay to visualize, it helps us see the whole picture, but sometimes in this type of situation you can believe that your final goal is too

big, you can sabotage yourself and believe that you’re not going to achieve it, because you’re not in normal circumstances, that’s why it’s important to start taking those small steps, and break down your tasks, that will facilitate the achievement of those small goals without feeling overwhelmed, until you manage to get out of that place, as the phrase “The only way to eat an elephant is bite by bite” be patient, for this it is recommended that you look for your own motivations, those that do not let you perform, and encourage you to move forward, give yourself some time thinking about them and let them have an effect on you, It will be a great stimulus, a push to get out of there, you can also listen to audiobooks or read motivational books, everything adds up, everything helps, start filling yourself with tools, hug your lifeline, that support group and share your achievements, celebrate them with them, that will make you more aware of the ability you have to improve yourself every day, Why?, because it is a positive mental and spiritual reinforcement that encourages you to move forward; I invite you to do it from today, being aware of what you have achieved will serve you, review, and if necessary write them down, no matter how “minimal” you think it is, we are talking about extraordinary situations that even getting up to take a shower can be an overwhelming, challenging, difficult activity and then it will be rewarding, do it, get up!, those small victories, It reinforces your sense of progress, it inspires you to do more every day, every step counts, you can make a list and when you accomplish the task put check mark (checkmark)and feel that satisfaction of a goal reached, celebrate, only you know how hard it was to get there, give volume to your favorite song, sing it, get inspired, go out with your friends, take a walk, treat yourself to something you like, go to a restaurant, to the beach, in these cases it is necessary to make things happen, every day counts, Focus on being your best motivator, that this situation no longer paralyzes you, on the contrary, show yourself what you are capable of doing, achieving, facing, that life is made to be lived with ups and downs, that our attitude is important, before, during and after each event, but above all, it is worth living, we are passing through, and when the years go by we will be able to turn around and see everything overcome, achieved, and lived, with the beauty of being able to inspire others with our story, remember “EVERYTHING PASSES, THIS TOO WILL PASS” for that and much more LIVE without going back.
