Walls of silence relinquish the words of a loving heart. It is on a soul level that we can ignite the fires of compassion. With the light of the burning embers, may it diminish the darkened way of the spirit who has wondered aimlessly in search for love and lost.

MISSION STATEMENT

In the depth of all souls, there is a longing to be accepted in the perimeters of mankind. As we listen to our own hearts, do we demonstrate anything less than compassion and love for one another? Without judgment, do we walk beside someone and help to lighten the burdens they may carry? It is in the knowing of our spirit that we have the innate ability to love each other with great capacity. We too shall overcome and make the world a better place with fierce determination and a boundless spirit to heal the core foundation of humanity. Let it begin with one single act of kindness, put a smile on someone’s heart today.

Yours in health, Jane Phillips Editor in Chief Publisher

The Grace of A Man

A Remembrance of my Father by Cynthia M. Brown

On Sept. 25, 2015, shortly after 7:00 a.m., my father, Archie M. Brown, Sr., 80 years of age, left this earth. The famous phrase from Dylan Thomas, “Rage, rage, against the dying of the light, do not go gentle into that good night,” certainly describes his life and his death. He was always larger than life; the dreamer, the ideas guy… He did everything extravagantly. He loved his wife, my mother, extravagantly. He loved all of his children extravagantly. He was capricious, mercurial, taciturn, arrogant, selfish and demanding. He was also gentle, loving, compassionate, generous and humble. He lived his life full tilt and without apology, for better or worse. I adored my father. He called me his baby girl, his princess. Sometimes it was wonderful to bask in the glow of his affection. Sometimes that crown and the expectations that came with it were too much to bear. I never feared my father, even though he could be quite bombastic when his ire was up. I did, however, fear disappointing him. He was quick to praise our achievements and just as swift to point out our shortcomings. He had high hopes for us all. He celebrated our successes with us and, when we failed, he sighed deeply and offered advice. It was the sigh and the ensuing silence that was so hard to endure. All of my siblings, my nieces and nephews can tell wonderful stories about his quick wit, his talent, his beautiful smile; his deep baritone hum as he worked. They can all recount his odd friendships with the underdog; his fascination for people, his love of history, good food, gardens, race cars, college football, fishing… They can all tell you how he made us want to do and be our best. I want to remember his essence and what it taught me about being fully alive and fully human. Dad was always vibrantly and totally alive. He was the full spectrum of humanity. He exhibited with gusto the best virtues and the greatest weaknesses. He was quick to anger; quick to forgive. He was easy to laugh with and he became melancholy just as easily. He was gregarious and reserved and reflective. My dad loved

4

my mother completely. He was also protective and overly possessive. He learned, much later in life, that my mom was with him because she chose to be with him. He learned to let go a little bit and to allow her some space to be. As he grew infirmed, he began to lose that perspective out of a different kind of fearthat of facing oblivion and the here-after, alone. My mom was devoted to my father. She loved him completely; made him and her children her entire world. She rarely left space for herself. At times, she chafed at his possessiveness. At times she said she felt smothered and yet, their relationship was enduring; filled with laughter, tears, forgiveness and grace. I think that is the thing I am most inspired by-my parents’ grace under sometimes extremely difficult life circumstances. My dad was extremely gracious. His door was always open to those in need. Anyone under his roof was under his protection and welcome with open arms at table and hearth. In the last years of his life, my father faced sometimes almost insurmountable physical problems: he was a heart patient; he lost two toes; he faced impending deafness and blindness; two broken hips and Parkinson’s disease. He suffered the indignities of not being able to walk unaided; not being able to bathe or dress himself; needing nursing care, assistance eating… He always thanked his caregivers. He always asked their names, how they were… He had a ready smile and a joke to lighten even the worst moments. He had days when the pain, the seeming hopelessness of his situation made him cross and ill-tempered. When he was not at his best, he was quick to acknowledge it and apologize. It was hard to see him physically diminished when he had always been so strong and active and capable. Yet, his diminished body gave rise to his increased presence as a force of will and desire to continue to be alive and engaged. My dad’s struggles were complicated by my mom’s own health crisis. She is a stage four ovarian cancer patient. We have been graced with two extended remissions and during much of my father’s final years she was in treatment fighting for her own life. Their struggles seemed symbiotic. Mom fought to be here for dad. Dad

fought to be here for her. They both fought because they deeply reverence the gift that is life. My dad was not a religious man. He told me once that God did not “dwell in the houses of men” not even the ones we built to honor Him. He told me God lived in me and in the beauty of the world and life He created. He had faith. He was, for much of his life, an optimist. And, true to his own complexity, he wrestled with despair and its cohort, alcohol addiction. He recovered his hope and love of life and beat back his demons, with great messiness and much grace. My mother found her voice during those years and with much love, prayer and, yes, grace, they, as a couple, endured. My dad also had a very pragmatic side. For all of his ideals, dreams, and high expectations, he had nurtured the ability to see the “writing on the wall” and make his peace with reality. My own struggles in life caused him great pain and worry. I was a very bright studentso bright that I was ostracized by my peers and spent a lot of time alone with my books. My dad was frustrated with me for always hiding behind my dark glasses and long hair; for walking with my head down and seeking the back row in life. Once, during my induction into Honor Society, he was very late. He had to drive me to the VERY FORMAL induction ceremony. I was in a dark blue velvet formal gown and my dad was in a snappy suit. I wanted to sneak in the back by going down the hall and entering the auditorium near the rear. My dad grabbed my arm, swung open the front door and walked me right down the front aisle with a big grin on his face. Of course heads turned. He was so tall and handsome and no one had seen me so dressed up before. He was very pleased with himself; he had seized the moment and I could not hide. He later told me that I should not be ashamed to be smart. It worried him that I did not see my unusual intelligence as a gift. While he loved my brightness he worried that I would not choose a practical profession. He said I always had my feet and head in the clouds. Later, when I was in my twenties, with much tenderness, humor and discomfort, he told me how he felt about my being gay. He said,” Baby girl, besides spending time with your mama, the thing I’d most

rather do is go fishing. I would rather all my children not wear glasses; I would rather you all marry well and have great jobs and make lots of money; I would rather you not be gay, for many reasons… And, the only thing I can change at any given time is whether or not I go fishing…” A year or so later, he came to visit me at school. He said he did not understand my life but he thought being alone in this world was the worst fate he could imagine. He said he was glad, at least, that I was not alone. Years before his own battle with alcohol he was fond of quoting the alcoholic’s prayer and he said it often when life weighed heavy. My dad was many things to many people. To me, he will always be poppy-the big man with the big voice who rocked me on his knee and sang me to sleep in a soft deep rumble of “baby, my baby.” He will always be the one who hollered the loudest when I slid through the mud on a frigid soccer field upending players and throwing mud across parents, players and officials. He will always be the one who gave me the litany of my many disappointing moves and missed opportunities, who later would sit next to me, arm around my shoulder and softly say,” I do not want you to feel guilty; I want you to be grateful for all you have, for every opportunity… Be grateful; be aware; don’t waste a single one.” He will always be the handsome guy dancing with my mom at my younger brother’s wedding; the one silently crying as he stood as best man for my older brother; showing the world that real men do cry tears of joy and tears of pain. He will always be the one who could touch my mom’s face with such gentle intensity that I could feel his deep need for connection and his gratitude and love in finding it in her. My dad was the most complex and divinely human being I have ever had the privilege of knowing. It has been my honor and joy to call him dad. I watched him from a distance. I watched him from up close. I have never been more proud to be his daughter than during the last years of his life. He told my sister that he would always choose life-always; it was ever a gift and a joy. He chose it with heroic spirit and gritty determination. In the end, he slept with my mother’s blessing in his ear, ”I love you Mr. B.” He whispered his love back; closed his eyes and slipped this earthy coil and floated toward eternity.

ASpiritual sk Sage Woman: Advice

for the Real World with Sage Woman

Dear Sage Woman, I have always struggled with my finances and am ready for a change. How do I tap into the abundance of the Universe? Gail C. ______ Dear Gail, You have ask this question with a blind faith knowing the Universe truly is abundant. This is the first step. Be willing to change your beliefs around prosperity, abundance and money. It is key to tapping into energy’s natural flow. How we look at money and our finances plays an important role in the way money shows up in our life. If we are attached to the belief that we’ve always struggled with money, then we always will. Even when we make more money than we expect, an unexpected expense finds a way to show up. This way the Universe can give of us what we believe. If we believe we will struggle, we will. The Universe, God/Goddess does not play favorites. It’s all about matching the frequency of the energy. Like attracts like. We are what we believe.

begin to see yourself no longer struggling with current finances. Absolutely no matter what things look like on paper right now, begin to see money working with you and not against you. The quickest way to turn things around is to also be in gratitude. Get out a piece of paper and write down all of the ways you believe you have struggled with money. Once the list is complete, scan through and find a gift in each way you struggled. What have you learned? As soon as we are in gratitude from our heart for even those things we deemed negative, we begin to shift the energy. Release the struggle and send gratitude for all you have been taught. Then let it know you don’t choose to hang on to such energy any longer. From this day forward be mindful of how you think, speak and act around the energy of money and your finance. Begin to believe that each time you spend money or pay a bill, you are receiving ten-fold back to you. Know each time you are giving, someone else is receiving. As you give, so shall you receive.

At the core, money is simply energy. We attach whatever we believe to that energy of money. If we believe money is at the root of all evil, how are we suppose to enjoy having it? If we don’t enjoy it, it won’t come to us easily.

Do not let your mind dwell on dissatisfaction, even if you are still feeling dissatisfied. It only feeds the maintenance of dissatisfying conditions. Change your attitude. Look at these conditions as perfect outcomes of past thought, and opportunity to re-create yourself anew. Thank them for this gift.

Everything begins with a belief. Beautifully, we always have the ability to change our beliefs. Immediately

To acquire wealth, it is much, much more effective to be in a state of wealth: to make your being one of

wealth, to feel wealthy and to think wealthy. Speak and act wealthy. You’ll have a hard time becoming wealthy if you feel poor. Your thoughts, words and actions reflect your awareness, your consciousness, and your being. Change your being and you change your world. The big question is how. Simply choose to shift our attention to gratitude for all that we have instead of what we don’t have. It is like being unhappy and simply deciding that you are tired of being unhappy, and you just decide to be happy. Everyone has done this somewhere before in life. Now do it with wealth. Become more conscious of your relationship with money and choose to see it as energy working with and for you, not ever against you. Unblock your abundance by letting the Universe know you are grateful for every little piece of good fortune you are presented with.

LOngoing ittle-Known Causes of Financial Distress Part 1 of a Series by Brian Eastman “I’ve always struggled to have enough money,” Bob said to me.* “I’ve attended many prosperity classes. I do the work and say the affirmations. But every time I start to get ahead, something still goes wrong.” If Bob’s struggles had a simple cause, the prosperity workshops would have fixed it. But workshops hadn’t so he was consulting me, a LIIFT practitioner. That was a smart move. LIIFT heals lives by re-writing failure-oriented Belief Statements found in our Internal Operating Software. For instance, LIIFT would change “I feel scared when I have money” to “I feel safe and secure when I have money.” But sometimes the anti-prosperity and anti-money Belief Statements have roots in unexpected places. Even LIIFT can’t help a person permanently exit financial troubles until these root causes are healed or changed. This series of articles will describe nine obscure root causes I have encountered, and the healing processes which fixed them. Little-Known Root Cause 1. Traumatic Family Ancestor Experiences** During LIIFT sessions with Randy, we discovered this Belief Statement: “If I have money I will die.” He also had “If I have money they will kill me.” Both came from his Family Ancestors. I asked Randy to think back to what he knew about his ancestors. He said that his great-grandparents had been successful landowners in Russia until a corrupt official had the greatgrandfather executed and all their properties seized. The rest of the family became refugees. They then opened a small shop in Germany and lost it when fleeing Hitler. “I can see where that belief comes from,” Randy said. LIIFT changed Randy’s relationship with money by healing the trauma of his Family Ancestors. In fact, LIIFT is good at healing damage from past Family Ancestor experiences.

10

Little-Known Root Cause 2. Broken Relationship with Father Roseanne used LIIFT to heal her childhood abuse. But she still struggled to generate a liveable income. Some healing modalities say that having a troubled relationship with one’s father often creates a financially-troubled life. Roseanne’s LIIFT practitioner, Ria Roth, created a special Father Ritual to enable Rosanne to establish a connection with the OK parts of her late father. After 15 days of doing the ritual, Roseanne’s income started increasing, with money coming from several sources. I know a second person who enacted a Father Ritual, also with guidance from Ria Roth. He, too, started seeing an income increase after about two weeks. Next Month we’ll discuss little-known causes 3, 4 and 5. Meantime, if you have an immediate concern, contact either me or Ria Roth for information and support. *All names have been changed for privacy. **Family Ancestors are ancestors related to you through your blood line. About the practitioners mentioned: Creator of the LIIFT healing, Brian Eastman sees people in person, via Skype and in group/ family sessions in Ohio and Indiana He is also leads LIIFT training seminars and LIIFT Prosperity Workshops. Contact Brian at 513.541.1257 or brian. eastman@LIIFT.info. Ria Roth combines LIIFT sessions with Oneness work and private/group Father Ritual work. Spiritual Showers by Wayne Holmes

to laugh and have fun. Whenever we are prone to take ourselves too seriously, whenever we are burdened by the everyday cares of life, we can take a few minutes out of our day and enjoy a spiritual shower.

Sometimes our routines weigh us down to the point that we feel physically tired, mentally drained, emotionally wasted, and spiritually unclean. We’d like to get away from it all, but our next vacation may be nowhere in sight. How do we recover? When we’ve done some exhausting physical work, it always feels nice to rest awhile and then take a warm bath or shower. The physical work allows us to release tensions, concentrate on something else, and focus on the task at hand. The shower allows us to freshen and feel clean once more.

Music isn’t the only means of taking a spiritual shower. For some, reading and meditating works wonders. For others, taking a walk or watching an uplifting program helps bring our spiritual focus back to The Divine with renewed energy. And, don’t overlook the value of laughter. Stone Eleven reminds us to choose laughter as the notes of our song. Personally, a good, hearty, belly laugh does wonders for my emotional well-being. It wasn’t until I donned a clerical collar that I came to understand how people viewed religious leaders differently. Some were comforted by my presence while others seemed ill at ease. “Before long I realized that many had been damaged through judgment, guilt, rejection, and condemnation by a religion or by someone religious. I’m happy to report that these people do not have to languish in fear, depression, or resentment. “In Every Path Leads Home, Wayne Holmes has created a brilliant and very gentle way out of religious abuse and intolerance into peace, happiness, and personal freedom. “It is a way to heal us all. –Rev. Mr. Holmes’ words resonate way beyond the printed page—they vibrate within your heart as truth. I absolutely LOVE this book! It is the best bridge I have seen joining traditional religion, spirituality, and the spiritual nature of us all. “The integrity of the author in revealing his own story is authentic, reminding me of the humanness of all of our experiences. Wayne Holmes’ Every Path Leads Home is a beautiful book of acceptance. Our lives on this plane of existence are of short duration, and we are all “headed home. Different faith experiences define “home differently, and each suggests a path or paths. For anyone who has been abused by the supposed rules and strictures of a church or congregation or pastor, for anyone who has come to see religion not as a faith experience but rather as a set of ironclad rules, for anyone who has grown weary of the struggle to find God by whatever name: Every Path Leads Home is a must-read.

Every Path Leads Home:

When we find ourselves in need of a spiritual lift from the everyday drudgery, a spiritual shower can work wonders. This sometimes occurs at a place of worship on a Sunday morning, but it can also be created in our homes. The feeling we want to create is that of being bathed in the flow of Light and Love. We may have a favorite mediation CD that can facilitate this feeling. If not, then simply taking a few minutes to relax and imagine drops of love splashing all over our bodies can give us the feeling of Love being showered all over us.

Children, Pets, & Consequences by Cindy Huff & Terri Noftsger

The relationship between children and their pets can be very special, but it is helpful to also talk about some guidelines and suggestions for parents/caregivers who live with both children and pets. What is ironic is that I am writing this on Memorial Day weekend, just one day after a very tragic event at the Cincinnati Zoo that involved a child and a gorilla. That event, and the reaction to it in social media, highlights just how emotional the topic of children and animals can be, especially when the child is in danger. Human and animals are driven by both instinct and by reason. When a highly stressful or dangerous event occurs, both animals and humans can and normally do react from instinct. What does this have to do with children and pets? Take a walk through the Humane Association kennels, or talk to someone from an animal rescue. Many dogs and some cats end up either being euthanized or dumped into a shelter or rescue because

12

they have bitten a child. Parents/caregivers react to that situation by blaming the dog or cat, and removing it from the home. They are reacting from a very basic instinct to protect their child. Sound familiar? Instead of judging the parents/caregivers harshly, or assuming that the animal is aggressive and therefore at fault, let’s take a look at the situation from a broader perspective. Having a dog, cat or even a horse in a situation with children requires a lot from the parents/ caregivers. Here are some things that they should consider before bringing a new pet into the environment: •Is the child old enough to understand rules and to have some control over their behavior? •Does the child have respect for others and how they might feel? •Does the parent/caregiver view animals as thinking/

feeling beings, and have they taught this to the child? •Is the child old enough to assume some responsibility for the care of the animal? •Has the parent/caregiver researched the type of dog/ cat/horse to see if it is of a suitable temperament to live with/interact with children? For example a dog breed that is known to be very sensitive and active is probably not a good choice for young children. •Most importantly are YOU – the parents/caregivers – willing to fully supervise ALL interactions between a young child and that pet? Are you willing to take responsibility for monitoring those interactions? Let’s talk about that last point for just a moment. Any dog, cat, bird, reptile or horse will bite given the right circumstances – usually when afraid or feeling threatened. Other situations that might provoke defensive behavior like biting can include the pet being ill or in pain, a situation that causes the pet pain, startling the pet, or the pet being uncomfortable with a given situation. Something as simple as a tight hug from a child can cause some dogs and most cats to feel very uncomfortable and trapped. If the child doesn’t stop when the animal warns or expresses discomfort and the animal panics, s/ he may bite to get away. Another very common situation is children confusing dogs with ponies. It is never ok to allow a child to sit or lay on top of a dog – it can cause pain and discomfort to the dog, especially over time. Another common situation that can result in a bite is startling or suddenly waking up a pet with no warning – especially older pets. Should children be expected to know all of this? Yes – because the parents/caregivers must teach them, and must be present to enforce proper behavior towards the pet. The adults must not only monitor the child’s behavior, they must also monitor the expression and body language of the animal while interacting with the child. Often animals try to express through facial expression and body language that they are uncomfortable or stressed. If the adults in the home aren’t willing to monitor all child/animal interactions, don’t get a family pet. It’s that simple. You as the parent/caregiver are responsible not only for the life your child, but also the life of any animal in your home. Having a pet can be an amazing experience for a child, providing them with a loving, kind, and loyal being who is always there for them. Growing up, I told my dog all

Infinity

kinds of things that I never told a human being. She was always there, and she always listened. What a wonderful thing my parents did for me in allowing us to have a family dog. They also did a great job of teaching me how to care for and respect animals. We certainly had quite a collection at times … dogs, a duck, a turtle, a snake, chickens, several white mice… if I could have smuggled a horse into the back yard we would have had one. If you as a parent or caregiver decide that you are up for the challenge, then by all means please involve your children in selecting a pet that is suitable for them and for your lifestyle. The American Kennel Club and Purina websites have a lot of great information on various breeds of dogs, including their activity level, trainability, and suitability as a family pet. There are a lot of mixed breed dogs, fantastic cats, and other pets waiting for adoption as well. Select the best pet for you and your family based on the above, and also based on the pet that wants to connect with you. If you don’t know much about dogs or cats or horses – reach out, there are lots of resources available for you to learn from BEFORE you bring the pet home. If you decide on a dog, we highly recommend obedience training from a positive reinforcement trainer, and take the whole family to the classes. Pets and kids can be an awesome combination, with proper instruction and adult supervision. If you do find yourself in a situation where a family pet is beginning to exhibit fearful or irritable behavior, especially around a child, please insure that you monitor all interactions carefully. Animal communication may also be very helpful in providing insight from the animal’s perspective. With thanks to Gigi- our first family dog- who patiently taught me that I could hear animals.

BTestimonial aker Chiropractic Fatigue and Fear of Falling from My Multiple Sclerosis Controlled My Life But Then I Was Given a Book from Dr. Baker That Changed Everything

and on Monday November 23 I had an appointment with Dr. Patrick Baker. I was diagnosed with Relapsing/Remitting MS in 2001 and have taken several medications over the years to limit the impacts of MS on my body. My MS slowly progressed over the years and in June 2015 my diagnosis changed to Secondary Progressive MS which means my MS will continue to progress (hopefully at a continued slow pace). Prior to seeing Dr. Patrick I was having difficulty with my mobility. I have very little feeling from the waist down. The numbness throws off my balance and I was starting to fall a lot. There were times it took me 20 minutes or more if I was alone to figure out how to get myself up. I was also having difficulty getting up from a sitting position if there was nothing close for me to pull up on. My legs would get heavy and my back would hurt if I had to walk too far or stand for a period of time without something or someone to hold on to. I could not step up on a curb or go up steps if there was no handrail.

Linda H. and Dr. Patrick Baker On November 19, 2015 my daughter-in-law Valerie gave me a book to read. She said the book was from Dr. Patrick Baker at Baker Chiropractic and Wellness. Valerie was a patient of Dr. Patrick’s and when Dr. Patrick heard that I was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis he knew he could help me, so he wanted me to see this book. The book (Enlightening, Adjusting and Saving Lives) was full of real-life stories written by people who benefited from care at Baker Chiropractic and Wellness. Page 225 was book marked for me to read – Multiple Sclerosis. Not only did I read about the benefits of Chiropractic care for MS, I also found and read about several other conditions I was suffering with as a result of my MS (Back pain, numbness in my feet and legs, restless leg syndrome and urinary incontinence). Valerie was getting awesome results from her chiropractic care so I knew this was something I had to do. The next day I called the West Chester office

I wanted to be able to play with my grandchildren and take them places like the park or out to eat. I wanted to be able to go shopping at the mall instead of having to buy everything online. I have a cane, a walker and a scooter I can use but getting them in and out of the car just adds to the fatigue you are plagued with when you have MS and just thinking about having to do that makes you tired so you decide not to go. Fatigue and the fear of falling were starting to control my life and not in a good way. I know a lot of people that have achieved great results with Chiropractic care and I always believed in Chiropractors and the work they could do when you were hurt or injured but I never thought they would be able to help with a disease like MS. I was wrong and I learned that quickly at Baker Chiropractic. They took the time to explain to me the benefits of corrective chiropractic care which does not just eliminate the pain you may be having but it keeps your spine and central nervous system aligned properly so your body can heal itself. They found that I have several subluxations (misalignments) that have been there for 20+ years, long before I was diagnosed with MS. Getting them aligned properly is critical for good health.

Since I started seeing Dr. Patrick, Dr. Kelly (and the awesome massage therapists in their office) in November 2015 I was making good progress. My legs were not as restless as they used to be and I was starting to get some feeling back in my feet and legs which helped my balance. I had a little more stamina and could walk further or stand a little longer than I used to before the pain came back. 0n January 7th I got sick and major depression set in and I could not talk myself into going out of the house. As the days went by I knew I was losing the progress I had made and was mad at myself for not doing anything about it. When I finally forced myself to go back 5 weeks later I walked out a new person. One that realized how much she needs Baker Chiropractic and Wellness in her future.

your face because you feel good, energized and cared for. When you have limited mobility feeling good is everything!

Just walking into the office is therapeutic. Everyone is so friendly and upbeat and happy for you that you are there. You cannot leave there without a smile on

Longevity Resources

Discovering Optimal Health Naturally

Welcome to our newest feature, “Longevity Resources.” Each issue we will cover topics that will explore endless possibilities in achieving optimal health. We are honored to feature one of own past writers, Dr. Paul Fulk (1935-2014). The article written below is just one of many he had written over the years. He was a true pioneer in the field of alternative health and nutrition. The statements or content of the article in this feature is strictly to educate and inform. It is not intended to replace the care and advice of your regular physician.

The Gallbladder Syndrome

someone had crawled under my bed and poked a pole up through my mattress and into my back. The pain was unbelievable! I could not get dressed fast enough. I went to the office where I had a cold helium laser that I used to stop the pain. I learned that cantaloupes have oxalic acid in them as well. So be careful to not eat too much cantaloupe. You may experience what I did. There are several foods that contain oxalic acid that can irritate the spleen and gall bladder. For example. Asparagus, Broccoli , Spinach, Cabbage, Green Peppers, Strawberries. Raspberries, Black Berries and all the Berry Family. You can eat them for three days, but you must eat other things like green beans and or peas, for a couple of days, then you can repeat what you have been doing.

by Paul F. Fulk, D.C., F.A.S.A. It seems as though this condition is on the rise. But I understand that it is just after Easter and many have had their share of chocolate. Then comes the strawberry festival and many will have eaten their share of strawberries. There is a certain group of people that come from Troy, Ohio after the “Strawberry Festival,” that have chronic back pain, shoulder pain, stomach ache, headache and some other pains they have but, did they have prior to the festival. But you are saying there is nothing wrong with strawberries. You are right, but they contain a lot of oxalic acid which does not agree with gall bladders and spleens. The spleen, which sits over to your left side, and is at fault. The reflex pain that comes from the spleen will make the upper back displace and become painful. I have to relate a story that happened to me many years ago. As you know the cantaloupes that come from Indiana are large, juicy and delicious. I had acquired one of these items. I ate one-half of a very big one and put the other half in the refrigerator. I proceeded to go to bed thinking that the one-half I put in the refrigerator was so ripe that if I did not get up and eat the other half. I would have to throw it away because it was too ripe. So I got out of bed and proceeded to eat the other half. I then went back to bed. About 4:00 AM, I was awakened by unusual pain under my right shoulder blade, thinking that

16

Not just oxalic acid, but some other products will also irritate the spleen and gall bladder. Pork products are favorites for irritating the spleen and gall bladder complex. Nitrates and nitrites that are a part of the pork meat will cause many irritations of the spleen and gall bladder. I know this is not popular to say since we have many pig raisers in our area. Pork fat and meats will form gall stones without much difficulty. Regardless, there are other products that will create gall stones. One major gall stone former is peanut oil and peanuts and or potato chips cooked in peanut oil. Peanut oil and hydrochloric acid, which you have in your stomach, will harden and form gall stones very fast. You can laminate a table top with peanut oil and hydrochloric acid. I have done such a thing. Think about bologna, ham, hot dogs, sausage and bacon. All these products are from the pork source. In addition to these products are milk, includes chocolate and dairy products. A lesser irritant to the gall bladder, but in any case they are an irritation to the spleen and gall bladder. Having a lapse of time does not help with these products. There are a number of other causes for the gall bladder to be swollen such as the sentinel gland near the neck of the gall bladder which becomes enlarged in gall bladder disease. Acute inflammation of the gall bladder may have a sudden, spectacular

June / July 2016

onset, in the form of colic, or it may begin gradually. Some patients, particularly in the older age group, experience little if any pain at first. At some time after the onset, the pain settles in the right upper quadrant and becomes persistent and severe. The pain can also be felt in the right lower rib cage, right shoulder and under the right shoulder blade in the back. This is known as cholecystitis and can become chronic and very painful. There are ways of cleaning the gallbladder via a gall bladder cleanse if you do not already have gall stone formation. Trying to cleanse the gall bladder when there are stones present, can be very dangerous. At this point you need a health care professional or medical supervision. Surgery should be your last resort. It is a false impression that you can eat any thing after the surgery. You have to take bile salts for the rest of your life before each meal. This is a replacement of the gall bladder you just lost. If not, you will more likely gain 40-50 pounds of weight. This is the national average.

Sublime Lime

Discover Amazing BeneďŹ ts

Celebrate summer with a zing and a twist of Lime! Go tropical with lime without even leaving your kitchen. The precious fruit of lime heals the body in many ways. Lime can delight the senses as it adds an extra dose of nutrition to our diets as well.

Significant measures of vitamin C found in limes can be instrumental in several ways especially to reduce painful symptoms of arthritis and can prevent hardening of the arteries. Consuming lime can also contribute to healthier, more beautiful looking skin.

Lime and the juice of a lime can improve digestion, relieving peptic ulcers and constipation. Limes contain a unique blend of active compounds called glycosides, which contain anticancer and antioxidant benefits. These compounds are the most powerful when the juice is consumed fresh and has been proven in research to actually inhibit the growth of tumor cells.

Lime oil is used in anti-congestive medicines, which can prove very beneficial for healing respiratory disorders. Just scratching the peel of a lime and inhaling it can relieve congestion and nausea.

The enzymes in a lime help to detoxify the liver and can rid the body of toxins by flushing them out through the kidneys. There is another reason to love limes, it helps with diabetes and heart disease.

Citrus fruits in general have fever reducing qualities, lime juice can bring a moderate fever back to manageable levels, however if a fever is high only lemon juice and water should be administered. The high concentration of vitamin C from these types of fruits naturally lowers the temperature of the body. Limes can help maintain an overall healthy lifestyle

with increased energy and improved immune system. They can be introduced to so many foods and can add an extra flair of flavor to many dishes.

Cut boneless, skinless chicken breasts in half. (I’ve also cut them in thirds or you could cut them into nugget size for little kids.)

Organic limes are the best quality to use, if those are not readily available, make sure to wash the peel of the skin carefully to remove any bacteria or chemicals.

Mix together melted butter and key lime juice. Dip the chicken into the butter mixture.

Enjoy a splash of lime with just about anything under the sun!

Place them on a greased baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through. You can flip the chicken tenders halfway through cooking to help brown both sides.

Lime Chicken Tenders INGREDIENTS: • 4 boneless, skinless organic chicken breasts • ½ cup organic butter, melted • 3 tbsp key lime juice (fresh squeezed or bottled) • 1 cup panko bread crumbs • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1 tsp salt • 1 tsp parsley • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper • ½ dried oregano

Then, coat the chicken tenders in the bread crumb mixture.

Cook the chicken tenders under the broiler for a couple of minutes to make the tops more golden brown, if desired. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a little grated key lime zest for added flavor. Note: Regular lime can be substituted for Key Limes if not available.

Lemon-Lime Ice Delight INGREDIENTS: • ½ peeled organic lemon • ½ peeled organic lime • 1/3 cup agave, or honey, or sugar substitute • 10 organic spinach leaves • about 4-6 cups of ice

• ¼ tsp onion powder • ¼ tsp grated key lime zest

DIRECTIONS:

DIRECTIONS:

Put ingredients in a blender, and then turn on to crush and blend until a smooth consistency is achieved.

In a small, wide bowl, mix together panko bread crumbs, grated parmesan, garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley, oregano, onion powder.

Notes: Flavor and intensity can be adjusted by using a whole lemon, or lime, or both. Also, adjust sweetness to your liking as well.

How the Universal Laws Bring Prosperity Into Our Lives by Jennie Taylor Martin For the last several years, I have made a concerted effort to work with the laws of the universe as advised in the Edgar Cayce readings. More recently, I’ve also tried to change my consciousness from one of lack to one of prosperity—realizing that there is enough prosperity in the world for everyone; in fact, more than enough! And if I can apply a positive attitude toward prosperity, perhaps I can attract more of it into my life. Not for selfish reasons, but just acknowledging that there’s nothing wrong or negative about money—it’s really all about how we use it. And I can state that it is working. I know from the Edgar Cayce readings that mind is the builder (“thoughts are things”) and that our attitudes and emotions can affect more than just our happiness. In fact, what the Cayce readings stated about the effects of attitudes and emotions on our health has been confirmed by modern science as well. As I learn from the readings and from other kindred materials, the energy you put forth is returned back to you—much like cause and effect. Cayce put it this way: “For, to have friends, show thyself friendly; to have love, give love to others; to have patience, manifest same in thine own relationships; like begets like.” (2905-3) Just last week, I was listening to National Public Radio (NPR) on my ride in to work, when I heard a story about a homeless man that reminded me of the universal laws and how they apply to prosperity. (Shapiro, Joseph, May 5, 2016, Colorado Springs Will Stop Jailing People Too Poor To Pay Court Fines, NPR. org) The story discussed a change in the practice of the Colorado Springs, Colo., court system, which had been imprisoning people who couldn’t pay their court fines. That action, which was judged unconstitutional and likened to the debtors’ prisons that were done away with in the 1800s, resulted in the city itself being fined and asked to make payments to the people it had wrongly jailed. The ACLU of Colorado discovered nearly 800 cases where people had gone to jail in Colorado Springs when they couldn’t pay their tickets

20

for minor violations, and one of those people was Shawn Hardman, aka, Q-Tip. Q-Tip, a homeless man who claims he is not a panhandler but a “flyer” (a term used for someone who stands and holds a sign—an action covered within the laws of “free speech”), was nevertheless jailed for panhandling and then being unable to pay his fines for what ended up being a total of 90 days within just one year. But instead of feeling anger over his arrests, Q-Tip’s response was gratitude—after all, being in jail was better than being on the street during a Colorado winter, and it came with other perks too, in the form of three square meals a day. Besides Q-Tip’s positive attitude, I was also struck by the content of the signs he held. This is how he described them: “My sign always said, ‘Have a beautiful day. God Bless You…’ “And I always put my famous logo: ‘TLA. Q-Tip.’ It stands for ‘True Love Always.’” When the Edgar Cayce readings speak of universal laws, they often mention how our own thoughts and actions bring similar energy into our lives, such as with this quote: “For, there are universal and spiritual laws that are a part of the self as well as of the universal consciousness. For, like begets like in every phase of material, mental and spiritual experience.” (2560-1) When another reading recipient asked about reaching his full potential, he received this advice from the sleeping Cayce, stating that one must first know their ideal and that harmony and peace and prosperity “are one” if bound by love: “First, know what is thy ideal—spiritually, mentally, materially. Know they must be dependent one upon the other… just as the adherence to those principles interpreted in the material relationships brings harmony and peace and prosperity. For, these are one—if they are bound together in brotherly love.” (2809-1) When I hear Q-Tip’s messages of love, I have a pretty good idea of what his ideal may be. And when Q-Tip meets adversity with gratitude, I believe the energy he is sending out exudes positivity. If one believes in the law of attraction, the energy of love and gratitude

June / July 2016

sent by Q-Tip and his flying signs were creating and attracting that same energy right back to him. If we examine this story further, we can also see how the negative actions of Colorado Springs resulted in a loss of “prosperity” to that city. But perhaps their restitutions—payments to those who were wronged— will bring more prosperity for the city in the future. As for Q-Tip, he will receive about $11,000 from the settlement ($125 for each day he was wrongly held in jail). He says he’s going to use it for a place to live and to advocate for homeless people. I’m not a bit surprised to hear that. About the Author: Jennie Taylor Martin is the marketing director of Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. She was first introduced to the Edgar Cayce readings in the 1980s. She is also an advocate for animal welfare and is combining her two

loves—animals and spirituality—into a book about animal reincarnation and the afterlife. If you have a story to share about the reincarnation or afterlife of your animals, she’d love to hear from you. Write to her at are@edgarcayce.org. Edgar Cayce founded the non-profit Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in 1931, to help people change their lives for the better through the information found in the Cayce readings. LAnother ime Oil: Reason to Love Lime by Dr. Joeseph Mercola Sailors and explorers never set sail without crates of lime on board, as its vitamin C- loaded juice served as one of the most potent remedies for scurvy and other skin problems.1 Now, lime is more popularly used as a cooking ingredient, adding a tangy flavor to your favorite dishes. But there’s another great way to reap its benefits: use lime oil. Get to know the many uses of this invigorating and refreshing citrus oil. What Is Lime Oil? Lime oil comes from Citrus aurantifolia of the Rutaceae plant family.2 This evergreen tree is short and bushy, growing between 6 and 13 feet high (much smaller than orange or grapefruit trees), and has dark green leaves, white blossoms, and green oval fruits.3 There are two main types of lime trees: the Mexican lime (Key lime) and the Tahiti lime (Persian or Bearss lime). Lime is indigenous to Southeast Asia and then spread to Egypt and Africa. The Moors also introduced lime to Spain during the 1200s and became a widely used fruit throughout Europe before it reached American shores. Today, the largest producer of lime is India (16 percent), followed by Mexico (14.5 percent), Argentina (10 percent), Brazil (8 percent), and Spain (7 percent).4 Lime oil has a sharp citrus scent, and is either pale yellow or light olive in color depending on how it was produced. Although it’s traditionally used as a flavoring agent in food, there are other well-known uses for it. Uses of Lime Oil Lime oil has been extensively used in the food and beverage industry, as well as in making fragrances. This versatile citrus oil is also added to household cleaners, detergents, soaps, and other beauty products. You can also get body-wide benefits by using lime oil in aromatherapy, as it is stimulating and refreshing. Just like lemon oil, lime oil can be used for its cleansing properties. Its rich vitamin C content also makes it an ideal immune system booster, helping protect you from colds and flu. There are multiple ways to use lime oil, depending on what health condition you want to treat or address:5 •You can relieve stress, exhaustion, and anxiety, or calm your mind by diffusing a few drops using a vaporizer. This

22

also helps boost your immune system, especially after an illness. You can add it to your bathwater as well. •For colds, coughs, sinusitis, sore throat, and chest congestion, add a few drops to a bowl of steaming water and inhale it. You can also mix a few drops with a carrier oil, then rub it on your neck and chest. •If you have rheumatism and arthritis, put two to three drops in an ounce of carrier oil, then massage on the affected areas regularly. This method also works for cellulite and varicose veins. •Treat bleeding cuts and wounds by putting two drops in a cold compress and pressing it on the affected areas. •For acne and other skin problems, mix two drops of lime oil with 15 drops of jojoba oil and apply onto your skin. This helps wash out impurities while promoting the growth of new skin cells. •Avoid dandruff and bring life to dull, frizzy, or oily hair by mixing a few drops of lime oil in your favorite shampoo. Lime can help remove oil quickly while moisturizing your scalp from within.6 Don’t just leave lime oil in your medicine cabinet, though. Around the home, lime oil can help:7, 8 •Remove grease spots and sticker residue. Put lime oil on a cotton pad and use it to wipe surfaces clean. It also helps remove gum and can be used to clean a dry erase board. •Prevent fruits from turning brown. Add one to two drops to your fruits. •Repel insect, such as mosquitoes and ants. Simply diffuse it in your home. •Add flavor to your citrus-infused dishes. Add a few drops for a deeper, tangy flavor. Benefits of Lime Oil Tetanus can be spread through wounds inflicted by rusty iron objects. Did you know that lime oil can be used to treat such injuries?13 Just like the fruit, lime oil is chock-full of benefits, owing to its rich antioxidant and nutrient content. It’s a great oil to add to your natural first-aid kit. Lime oil can:14 •Cure both internal and external infections. It can help prevent wounds from being infected, as well as help cure infections of the throat, colon, mouth, intestines,

June / July 2016

stomach, and urinary system. It can also help heal or relieve skin problems such as sores, rashes, psoriasis, gangrene, open ulcers, and carbuncles. •Relieve respiratory disorders. It can help treat bronchitis and is effective against viral infections like flu, coughs, colds, mumps, and measles. •Cure toothaches and promote good oral health. It strengthens the grip of the gums to prevent tooth loss. •Help kill bacteria that cause diarrhea, food poisoning, cholera, and typhoid. It also helps treat internal and external bacterial infections. •Help stop bleeding. It contracts blood vessels and promotes coagulation. This also helps reduce your risk of hemorrhages. •Detoxify your liver. Taken internally, it can serve as an important component of a detox regimen and promote liver health.15 How Does Lime Oil Work? According to a 2003 study on the aromatic volatiles in key lime essential oils, the components geranial, neral, and linalool are dominant in lime oil, contributing to its fresh and citrus aroma. These components also contribute to the oil’s astringent, tonic, antiseptic, antiviral, antimicrobial, restorative, stimulant, and other health-promoting properties.18 To ensure the shelf life of your lime oil, keep it in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight.

Side Effects of Lime Oil Citrus oils like lime oil are photosensitive, meaning they react to light, radiant energy, or other sources of UV rays. If you use this oil topically and then go out into the sun or other light sources, an adverse reaction such as a rash or dark pigmentation may appear after several minutes, hours, or days after the light exposure. So whatever happens, don’t expose your skin to the sun if you’ve just used lime oil. Wait for six to 24 hours before going out. The stronger the UV rays that you will be exposed to, the longer the wait should be.21

Is Lime Oil Safe? Lime oil can be inhaled or vaporized, used topically, or added to food in small amounts. It’s said to be non-toxic and non-irritating, but this does not mean that you should use it recklessly.19 For instance, do a patch test to see if you have any sensitivity to this oil. Simply apply a drop or two to your skin to check if you develop any allergic reaction. I do not recommend using undiluted lime oil, as it can be very potent. Instead, blend it with a milder oil, such as coconut oil or olive oil. Lime oil also blends well with lavender, neroli, ylang-ylang, and clary sage.20 As with other herbal oils, I advise you to consult your physician before ingesting this oil (diluted or mixed in food) to determine the proper dosage for your condition. I also do not recommend lime oil for pregnant women or nursing mothers without first seeking the advice of their healthcare provider.

Aofn Invisible Bouquet Vibrations by Jill Mattson Plants respond to music, growing better while listening to classical music, but how does sound change the physicality of the plant? In the book, The Secret Life of Plants, researchers hooked plants to machines resembling lie detectors, which revealed their response to threatening behavior. Wow! Plants possess an awareness of their wellbeing and surroundings. Even more startling, the plants showed a response to their owner’s well-being, even if the owners were across the country. This seems like quantum entanglement (when two energies link on the quantum level, and affect another, even at long distances). Maybe the plants’ have emotions and care about their owners? If this idea is not delightful enough, researchers display plants “singing.” The plant’s tiny vibrations are too soft for us to hear, but may account for why we feel uplifted in a botanical garden or calm down

24

in nature. Unconsciously these “plant songs” lull us into harmony and a sense of wellbeing. People have hooked electrodes to plants’ leaves and roots, and then connected them to musical instruments, producing fairy-like music: a new genre? A Mexican, named Aerial Guzik, hooked cacti to lutes and used their tiny energetic impulses to create strangely beautiful music. Another experiment at Dananhur in Italy showed plants connected to electronic instruments, producing exquisite music. You can listen to this concert at the You Tube video in the footnotes. Ancient stories of Atlantis suggest that highly psychic people telepathically “tuned” into the vibrations of the plants, asking the plants what they needed for optimal growth. According to legends in Central America, this “inside information” improved crop growth. The stories suggest that plants possess

intelligence and consciousness. The Kairos Institute of Sound Healing in New Mexico tested if sound vibrations enhanced crop growth. They played tuning forks and hand chimes over seedlings. The forks were tuned to the frequency made by Mars and Venus moving in their orbits and other frequencies found in space (raised octaves into hearing range). Their findings showed that sound vibrations improved seed germination, quantity and quality of produce, longevity of production, pollination, and plant size. The author has created heavenly music full of star tones, offering this technique to humans! Dan Carlson, of Sonic Bloom, noticed that plants’ use of nutrients spikes at dawn. Plants do not benefit nearly as much when fed at other times. He wondered how the plant knew when dawn was. He experimented with bird chirps, local to the natural habitat of the plant, because the birds’ choruses sing loudly at dawn. Carlson discovered that when he played local bird chirps at any time of the day, the plant acted as if it was dawn and utilized more nutrients. At least one way that the plants told time was with sound. Carlson sells plant food packaged with recording of bird chirps and boasts of 100 percent increase in plant growth. Once again a link appears between sound and the plants’ well being. Joel Sternheimer, a French physicist, calculated the vibrations of the amino acids in plants. After he calculated the tones of each, and then he organized the amino acids in the same way that they were in the plant’s protein. When he played the “plant’s song” back to the plant, the plants growth nearly doubled with resistance to drought and disease. What do we learn from all this? Plants are far greater beings than we expected? They are also exquisite musicians? Perhaps the biggest lesson in that sounds, below our hearing range, have a significant impact on the energies of living things: body, mind and emotions. At very least, in a romantic picture, we are bathed unconsciously in plant songs and lullabies of the stars. Sound and music enhance the health of plants. Yet, we stubbornly believe that we are not influenced by sound in the same way. What would make us exempt? The science of bioacoustics, developed by Sharry Edwards, has shown that we can use targeted sounds to enable the body to heal itself.

Though thousands of different triggers can cause headaches, one thing is certain—they happen for a reason. A headache is the body’s way of telling you something isn’t right. But what you may not know is that what’s causing the headache doesn’t always originate in or near the area where you feel pain. When it comes to your body, everything is connected. For example, a wrist problem can actually be a spinal complication, whereas elbow trouble can actually result from a shoulder issue. Of course, headaches can also be directly related to the spine, being caused by a number of ailments including: • Compensation for low back problems • Misalignment • Poor posture • Muscle spasms Chiropractic and Headaches Chiropractic care is a natural treatment that promotes the body’s own healing ability. At our practice, we’ve seen many patients who come in seeking relief for headaches. To their surprise, chiropractic isn’t just about bringing relief—adjustments actually help to correct the underlying issue at hand to decrease its appearance in the future. Other health issues that patients experience that are not brought up to us often resolve as well.

The Moon’s Nodes And Your Karmic Loop The effects of the Moon’s Nodes are a little like karma, or art... everyone knows what those things are when they see them, but pinning down the definition is a little trickier. Karma is, frankly, a pain in the rear. I don’t know of any astrologers who don’t believe in the concept in one way or another, and many love to talk about it over and over during the course of a consultation. Sure, that approach can be useful... but it drives me a little bit nuts. “Broke your leg? Spouse left you? Your dog ran away? It’s karma. Yup, must be karma.” Blaming things on karma is a sure-fire answer for everything that nonetheless tells us essentially nothing. I do everything I can to avoid that in a reading. Having said that: yes, there is “karma” in your birth chart, and one of the first places we look for that is the North and South Nodes of the Moon. The North Node is sometimes called “The Dragon’s Head,” and the South Node is referred to as “The Dragon’s Tail.” In Karmic terms, think of the Head as the part of the Dragon that goes around trying to eat up all the karmic destiny you were put here to experience, and the South Node is where all the old karma poops out. So, just as any animal goes through life eating and excreting, on a fuzzier, harder to define, “karmic” level -- we do same thing.

Infinity

The North Node brings opportunities for growth and expansion. It points to where you’re supposed to be doing your Higher Spiritual Learning. It can also (not coincidentally) represent an area of your life you may be a little afraid of. The South Node, on the other hand, represents the karmic past. This could mean either previous lives, or your childhood background and environment, or (probably) a combination of the two. There’s a tendency among some to think of the North as the “good Node” and the South as the “bad Node,” but that’s oversimplifying things. Furthermore, the Nodes are always opposite each other. So for example, if you have your North Node in the Third House at 12 degrees Taurus, your South Node is automatically going to be found in the Ninth House at 12 degrees Scorpio. Got that? Good. Here’s a quick and handy guide to how the house placements of your Nodes direct your karmic lessons, guide your spiritual and material development, and drive you and others nuts: North in 1/South in 7: Yes, it’s all about relationships... you versus the world, one person at a time. You are potentially the person who takes over in a crisis and leads others to better places, if you weren’t so afraid of empowering yourself that much. You’re usually good with accommodating your partners. North in 2/South in 8: Hey, we all love you, so

27

maybe you could lighten up a bit with things, just maybe? Making money and building a life in the material world is what we’re here for, and one way or another you have a talent for that. But relax, already! You have the capacity to love and to hang onto someone or something to death. North in 3/South in 9: You have the ability to create your own reality. By that, I mean you have the capacity to get so deep into the details and distractions of your mental life that you could completely miss out on that oncoming truck. Overall, you’re probably pretty idealistic in a lot of ways. Just keep in mind that just because you have a belief system doesn’t mean it’s always right... for you or anyone else. North in 4/South in 10: Face your real needs! You hunger for grounding, whether it’s with your family, a career, or a lifestyle. You’ve probably set out a lot of goals for yourself, and are probably annoyed that so many of them have fallen short. That may not be the Universe’s fault after all... like I said: face your REAL needs! North in 5/South in 11: People tend to like you and are generally drawn to you, and whatever form your interactions take, you’re probably good at them. This is because you tend to see people both as individuals as part of a Bigger Picture. Isn’t that awesome? Now stop socializing and get back to work. Your coffee break ended ten minutes ago. North in 6/South in 12: You’re good at observing, figuring things out, and finding practical solutions. Unfortunately, you’re also good at staying in your head and withdrawing from the battles of daily life. You may find you have a hard time “fighting the power” and putting those plans into action. North in 7/South in 1: Once you learn to relax and let go with people, you’ll be a master at relating to them. First, you’ll have to learn that people aren’t just there to get in the way, be stupid, and block your view. In a pinch, you’re good at rolling the dice and going with whatever

28

opportunity presents itself, but that luck is bound to run out eventually. North in 8/South in 2: You have needs, and your partner needs to accept and work with that... whether those needs are material or sexual or something else. Your big lesson may be that your partner could actually work with those needs better if you didn’t have him/her tied to a chair with a gun at their head, literally or figuratively. Negotiate, don’t dictate. North in 9/South in 3: You were born understanding that there’s A Big Picture to the Universe. The challenge is to make that work in a world filled with fiddly little ideas and theories and people who don’t see it your way. Properly developed, this could make you a great scholar or monk, but for those most part building a practical life on this foundation could be tricky. North in 10/South in 4: You reach for the top and you do the work to get there, but did you leave something of yourself behind on the way? Focusing on external achievement has its rewards, but don’t neglect the actual person (you) behind the achievements, or WHY scoring those goals should be so important to you anyway. It’s a bit like building a house with your own two hands, and then sleeping in the garage. North in 11/South in 5: You’re good at creative thinking for the benefit of others, whether it’s planning a party or tour. Often, doing things for others will (paradoxically) set you free. But first, you’ll need to overcome hesitancy when it comes to the judgement of others. That, and once you’ve come up with that plan to save the world, be careful not to bulldoze everyone with it. North in 12/South in 6: You’re here in this life to learn to let go, embrace the All, and to discover your place in the Multiverse. All of that would be easier if you’d just pay a little better attention to details like eating properly, following the rules, and.. hey, where the heck DID you leave your house keys anyway, Buddha?
