MISSION STATEMENT
We have come so far, the journey can sometimes be so overwhelming that one can lose focus on what really matters. Standard living is not sustainable anymore. We must open new doors and challenge ourselves to think outside the box. Building new foundations is key to a new way of life. Innovative approaches and a vision without judgment or fear will go beyond what we could ever imagine. Reaching out to others in need is a good place to begin. Hold sacred space for all who may falter. Humanity is flawed and beautiful in many ways. We can share a common bond that can be strengthened by even one single act of kindness. Respond with unconditional love to all who are within your circle and beyond. Simplicity creates a common ground to all who may feel the chaotic process unfold but necessary. Cherish those who are near and dear to your heart. Honor exceeds all expectations, release the old and bring on the new! The world as we knew it will pale in comparison to the new earth rising. Are you ready? May peace be with and yours this Holiday season and throughout the New Year! Yours in Health,

Signature Profile Free Frequencies for Defense of your Immune System with Jill Mattson Sharry Edward & Jill Mattson have collaborated to create over 70 minutes of free music on 18 mp3s at no cost! Receive this at CoronaVirusDefense. org and JillsWingsOfLight.com. Our immune system is our best defense against illness. Edwards, who founded the science of BioAcoustics, has determined that with the onslaught of the current pandemic, the body is in dire need of specific nutrients to help counter the Coronavirus. Two critical ones are glutathione and quercetin. A healthy immune system always needs these nutrients - and in the case of the Coronavirus, they are extraordinarily essential. Mattson’s compositions contain Edwards’ Frequency EquivalentsTM of glutathione and quercetin. There are seven other Frequency Equivalents of substances that boost the effectiveness of the immune system. (Vitamin C, adrenaline, epinephrine, ACTH, and others.) You ingest sound and your body uses this energy. We currently cannot prevent infection by the Coronavirus, but we can help significantly reduce the severity of the disease by building up our immune systems. Finally, embedded in Mattson’s music frequencies for emotional clearing and healing. There are frequencies for a dozen flower essences and twelve crystals! The music is profoundly calming and provides a peaceful feeling amidst the tension surrounded by the coronavirus epidemic. When your body is at peace and relaxed, it devotes more energy to the building and repair of your body. The frequencies and information here have not been confirmed to do anything. No claims can be made as to the efficacy of the sounds embedded in the music. When listening, you acknowledge that neither Jill Mattson nor Sharry Edwards are medical professionals and do not claim to be.

Part 2 (series of 3 trips) Happy Holidays! We continue with my series on Santa Fe, New Mexico. I promised to share my Sisters’ Getaway this issue, but since it’s the Christmas season, I decided to share last years Christmas trip to Santa Fe

instead. I will finish up the series with that memorable Sisters’ Getaway next issue. Christmas in Santa Fe: it just doesn’t get much better than that! The Christmas season officially kicks off when the Plaza lights flicker to life the day after Thanksgiving. Following our trip to Santa Fe, the boys decided to make a life change and move to Santa Fe for a year. I was sad to see them leave Texas, but it was a great place for mom to come visit!! Ray and I rented an adorable adobe cottage in walking distance to the Plaza with many cozy features. There was a dazzling fireplace for those cold, snowy December nights and even a back yard sauna. We stayed the week of Christmas and immersed ourselves in the holiday experience. On our first day, we went straight to Ari and David’s new place for lunch on Spur Ranch for lunch. The area is surrounded by mountains and just outside of the city.
Winter Wonderment 2020
David made a fabulous batch of New Mexican pozole, a traditional hominy stew with pork or chicken, red or green chilis and lots of fun garnishes. We spent the day catching up, exploring the ranch - including making friends with the horses - and finalizing the rest of the week’s plans. A highlight of our trip was attending a baroque Christmas concert at the festively decorated Loretto Chapel. The concert opened with the Telemann’s brilliantly imaginative Burlesque de Don Quixote, followed by Leclair’s introspective Sonata No. 8 for Flute and Viola. The concert concluded with a set of rare Christmas carols. The chapel brings you back to the 18th century and the intimate chamber music touches your soul. To catch up on last minute shopping, we spent a day at the historic downtown plaza. In addition to the shops, we enjoyed hot chocolate and cider along with live music and caroling. The plaza is illuminated with candles - lit farolitos and millions of twinkling lights. The smell of piñon is in the air. We strolled in and out of stylish boutiques and colorful galleries. My favorites, however, are the Santa Fe Winter Indian Market and the Native American Vendors. This is an incredible opportunity to experience local cultural traditions. The entire north side of Santa Fe’s downtown plaza is take up by the Palace of the Governors built in 1610, the oldest continually occupied public building in the United States. Its front adobe faced is completely shaded, and in this “portal,” the Native American Vendors Program has operated for over six decades. You can meet the artists and find original, handcrafted jewelry, sand art, pottery, blankets and other authentic, traditional art. One of our afternoons included a visit to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. O’Keeffe (1887-1986) is one of the most significant artists of the 20th century. She was devoted to creating imagery that expressed what she described as the “wilderness and wonder of the world as I live in it.” The Museum preserves, presents, and advances the artistic legacy of Georgia O’Keeffe through the their art and archival collections, as well as the artists’ historic homes in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

Afterwards, we stopped into the Noisy Water Winery for a wine tasting. You can taste 4 of their menu of all New Mexican wines for $10. The rojo caliente and the best caliente are my two favorites. The cheese selection was also extensive. We enjoyed a cheese tray consisting of a mango habanero, scorpion Gouda and a green chili jack. It was a great place to kick back and chill! During our stay we had plenty of time at the casita to watch football, play scrabble and enjoy each others’ company. One the best reasons to rent an AirBnB is for the space and privacy. It felt like a home away from home. Taking advantage of another free afternoon, we drove just north of Santa Fe to the Nambe Trading Post on the edge of the Nambe Pueblo and at the beginning of the High Road to Taos. It is curated by Oscar nominated and Emmy award winning Costume Designer, Cathy Smith. From movie costumes seen in notable Westerns (including Dances with Wolves) to Navajo rugs, pueblo potter, old pawn jewelry and cowboy gear, you will find authentic and one of a kind goods. It is much like a museum, only everything is available for sale. We included a stop at the Estrella del Norte Winery for another glass of New Mexican wine. When Christmas Eve finally came, it was incredible! It actually started snowing around 3 pm that afternoon. It was going to be a white Christmas. Before our Christmas Eve dinner at the Coyote Cafe, we decided to brave the crowds and check out another one of Santa Fe’s beloved holiday traditions, the Canyon Road Farolito Walk. Thousands stroll the iconic road on Christmas Eve. Known for world class galleries, Canyon Road transforms itself into a work of art during this celebration unique to Santa Fe. Thousands of farolitos were aglow on the gardens, courtyards and adobe walls of the century old buildings lining the road. Farolitos are little lights made of paper bags, sand and tea candles. In Spanish, the word translates as “little lantern.” The senses are brought to life! The aroma is of piñon logs burning in small bonfires and the sounds are of street musicians (Continued on pg. 6)

(Continued from pg. 5)
playing traditional holiday songs. We relished the sweet taste of hot chocolate and warm biscochitos, and the luminaries along the road took the chill out of the crisp mountain air.
So, yes, our Christmas trip in Santa Fe was a combination of the senses: New Mexican cuisine, art galleries, pinon constantly burning and a baroque concert that touched the soul.
At Coyote Cafe, we enjoyed an amazing 3 course Christmas Eve dinner. It is one of the Santa Fe’s most beloved and iconic establishments. The menu is a creative and modern take on southwestern cuisine. Our table enjoyed an array of dishes ranging from seared diver scallops, Berkshire pork osso buco, chili morita Mexican white prawns and eggplant ravioli. We enjoyed some bubbly and pinot noir throughout our meal as well. If I remember correctly, we enjoyed a white chocolate cream cake and a milk chocolate creme brûlée. I am ready to go back again!
My Zen moment was every second I got to spend with my son Ari, son-in-law David and my partner-in-life Mr. Ray. I am truly blessed.
Luckily for Ray and me, Ari and David hosted Christmas breakfast and lunch at ranch. David is a stellar chef! Ari is an impeccable host. We won the Christmas Day Lottery! I wore holiday pj’s all day! We enjoyed great food, awesome conversation and took in a movie filmed in Santa Fe called “Ideal Home.” It was a hilarious flick!
Sage Woman
So I can’t leave out David’s menu for the day: we enjoyed blue corn pancakes and piñon coffee for breakfast. After opening presents and stocking gifts, we a took in another walk around the property before lunch was served. We enjoyed pomegranate margaritas, southwest egg rolls, homemade chipotle salsa and a green chili cheese ball. What a spread, Santa Fe style! Our last evening included dinner near where the boys lived, at a lively saloon in Lamy, New Mexico, called the Legal Tender. The atmosphere is authentic Old West, beautifully restored and pleasing to the eye. This historic railroad restaurant-saloon is located in the quaint Lamy rail yard. That evening they had live music and the bar is the most beautiful in the state. You feel like you could see Clint Eastwood drinking at the bar from one of his scenes in an old spaghetti western. And the food was delicious! We enjoyed the pumpkin soup, pan seared trout filets, pecan smoked ribs and amazing duck fat roasted fingerlings to name a few.
6
We look forward to when everything opens back up again and travel resumes to what it was, or even close to what it was. Until then, I will continue to share favorite travels before 2020 and some of the creative traveling we’re doing in 2020/21. As always I send you light, love and deep gratitude!

Prayer Problems by Wayne Holmes
the title, Every Path Leads Home: Opening to Your Spiritual Journey. Learn more about Wayne’s healing work at ReligiousRecovery.org.
We often have two problems with prayer. The first is our inability to hear the answers, and the second is our inability to accept the answers. The solution to the first can be overcome through meditation, contemplation, mindfulness living, and openness to the variety of ways The Divine chooses to communicate with us. Sometimes it is through a book, sometimes through advice, sometimes through circumstances, and sometimes through trial and error which is not always the best way, but it does work at times.
Wayne Holmes’ Set Your Course shares six months of reflections that will give readers a path to spiritual freedom and help them connect to their soul and inner spirit. Not only does it provide healing from past religious abuse, but also abuse of nearly any form, and beyond that, it provides a path towards taking solid control of one’s religious and spiritual journey.
The second problem — our inability to accept the answers — is tied with the first problem. Often we think we know what the answer is, or at least what we think it should be, and when the answer isn’t what we expected, we think The Divine has failed to provide the answer, when it was we who were unable to comprehend and accept the answer given. When we already have in mind what the answer should be, then we are not asking for answers but for confirmation for the decisions we already plan to make. Y

It wasn’t until I donned a clerical collar that I came to understand how people viewed religious leaders differently. Some were comforted by my presence while others seemed ill at ease. “Before long I realized that many had been damaged through judgment, guilt, rejection, and condemnation by a religion or by someone religious. I’m happy to report that these people do not have to languish in fear, depression, or resentment. “In Every Path Leads Home, Wayne Holmes has created a brilliant and very gentle way out of religious abuse and intolerance into peace, happiness, and personal freedom. “It is a way to heal us all. –Rev. Mr. Holmes’ words resonate way beyond the printed page—they vibrate within your heart as truth. I absolutely LOVE this book! It is the best bridge I have seen joining traditional religion, spirituality, and the spiritual nature of us all. “The integrity of the author in revealing his own story is authentic, reminding me of the humanness of all of our experiences. I felt wrapped in the arms of loving kindness throughout the whole book. I predict this book will enlighten all who read it.

Wayne Holmes’ Every Path Leads Home is a beautiful book of acceptance. Our lives on this plane of existence are of short duration, and we are all “headed home. Different faith experiences define “home differently, and each suggests a path or paths. For anyone who has been abused by the supposed rules and strictures of a church or congregation or pastor, for anyone who has come to see religion not as a faith experience but rather as a set of ironclad rules, for anyone who has grown weary of the struggle to find God by whatever name: Every Path Leads Home is a must-read.
Every Path Leads Home:
Letting go of our preconceived ideas of how our lives should be lived and what our answers ought to be is difficult. If we want to live our lives to our highest potential, we must understand that Divine Love would not do anything that would not be for our highest and best. As we release our control on life and live in acceptance and expectance, we can ask questions and try our best not to form the answer we think is the right one but rather put our trust in The Divine.
Opening to your spiritual journey, healing for the past, peace for the present. Direction for the future, Religious Recovery. Wayne Holmes

The Sounds of Our Genetic Codex, DNA by Jill Mattson
How listening to Special Frequencies can affect our Total Well Being One of the tenants of Healing with Sound – of expanding yourself through Sound – is that by listening to/and being immersed in certain frequencies and matrices of sounds, our bodies, our energies, even our mental and physical states, can be impacted profoundly. Why is this? There are countless documented cases of how sound can affect and heal us. There are many theories, and though a complete explanation does not exist – a clear picture is emerging – with deeper understandings, intricate connections, and relationships being solidified every year. 8
To capture the essence of what is at work: every living and inanimate thing has an energetic aspect. Sound is vibrational energy. When the appropriate frequencies of sound interact with us and our environment (our bodies, our living spaces, pets… etc.), these sound frequencies can alter and transform our fundamental energies. The Ancients learned this long ago. Some of these traditions have survived and passed down to us. There are numerous Modern Masters of Sound Healing, some famous, others obscure; fantastic work has been ongoing. It is in this tradition that Jill Mattson has identified and extracted the precise frequencies of critical components of our DNA blueprint. Her new audio creations contain the sound frequencies of the four building blocks of our Winter Wonderment 2020
DNA: Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, Guanine; also included is Uracil (for RNA), ATP, frequencies of the elements Phosphorus, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, and Nitrogen. ATP stores chemical energy for the cell. Everything has an energetic aspect and hence a frequency signature, which is characteristic of that thing. Exposing a substance or living cell to “pure” frequencies – that make up that substance – can strengthen and reinforce the entity – even at an atomic or molecular level. Including in this music is the frequencies of the atoms that combine to make our DNA. A DNA molecule is a collection of recipes for making proteins. Since proteins are the machinery of life, DNA is the recipe for making an organism. What is the function of RNA? RNA builds the proteins based on the formula in the DNA. These musical compositions from the DNA Dreams collection contain audio with Fibonacci sounds spirals that mirror the double helix geometry of DNA. The Fibonacci sequences take the listener upward and resonate along the deepest pathways of our energetic scaffolds. There are sounds taken from the backbone of the complex DNA molecule, strengthening and infusing our chromosomes’ very sound structure. The crucial link between “DNA Sounds” work and Subtle Energy is that Subtle Energy can be molded and carried on special vibrational frequencies. Further, Subtle Energy can interact with material things (such as Human DNA) and other forms of energy ... but it must be made available - such as in the music called DNA Dreams. Everything has an energetic aspect and hence a frequency signature, which is characteristic of that thing. Exposing a substance or living cell to “pure” frequencies – that make up that substance – can strengthen and reinforce the entity – even at an atomic or molecular level.

Earlier researchers foreshadowed the idea of deriving frequencies and music from our DNA and using these compositions to strengthen and reinvigorate our very genes. The most famous was Joel Sternheimer, who studied plants and devised a way to construct musical compositions based on the building block amino acids and proteins that make up a plant’s structures. When he played the resulting “music” to the appropriate plants, the results were impressive: plants exposed to the frequencies (or notes) derived from their amino acids grew several times faster and larger. They were more resistant to disease and pests; these plants’ fruit was much larger and more plentiful. The “music” Sternheimer developed harmonized and “tuned” the plants’ internal structures - the end result was far healthier plants. Everything has an energetic aspect and hence a frequency signature, which is characteristic of that thing. Exposing a substance or living cell to “pure” frequencies – that make up that substance – can strengthen and reinforce the entity – even at an atomic or molecular level. Sharry Edwards, who pioneered BioAcoustics, innately recognized that specific sounds correlated to physical issues. She was born blessed with an extraordinary sense of hearing, which was significantly enhanced after a neardeath experience. Analogously, dolphins can receive (and transmit) sound frequencies about ten times greater than the average human ear’s range. This ultrasonic ability gives the dolphin critical information about the complex world around them. They also can communicate advanced information at great distances. This remarkable sense of hearing was responsible for Sharry’s first encounters with the enormous potential of sound. Sharry first experimented and created harmonizing tones with her voice to alleviate the discordant sounds she perceived in others. These ideas developed into BioAcoustics, (Continued on pg. 10)

a method of analyzing one’s out of tune frequencies and harmonizing them. The body returns to health when it is in tune.

In vastly diverse examples, Sharry was able to help people suffering from glaucoma, emphysema, and traumatic muscular-skeleton injuries. She gave these people sound generators that produce frequencies tailored to their afflictions. There has been a tremendous amount of fascinating work done using Sound Frequencies with living organisms to wondrous ends. DNA Music with embedded frequencies is yet another example of Sound Energy being utilized as a powerful tool to benefit living systems. About the Author: Jill Mattson is a prolific Artist, Musician and Author. Jill is widely recognized expert and composer in the field of Sound Healing! I first found Baker Chiropractic after injuring my back. I was standing on a patch of ice while lifting my 5 year old into her car seat. I started to slide and twisted in an odd direction to avoid dropping my daughter. I felt an odd sensation in my back when I fell then the pain started. I spent two days in bed using ice and heating pads. Nothing was helping. I had always been rather skeptical of chiropractic, believing it was gimmicky nonsense. At this point though with 3 young children and being in such pain I became desperate. I made my appointment and met with Dr. Baker still quite skeptical. When my adjustment was over I was amazed at the relief I felt. I was able to move again. I admit I was shocked how well it worked. My mother suffered from a lot of neck, back and joint pain. After hearing and seeing how much I was helped by my adjustment she decided to give it a try as well. Very skeptical at first she has now become a regular at Baker Chiropractic. After being a client for a while Dr. Baker told me about how chiropractic can help ADD & ADHD. Unwilling to medicate my 5 year old for her ADD I decided to start bringing her in for adjustments as well. She loves Dr. Baker and her adjustments. She talks about how they make her feel better. My 88 year old grandmother lives overseas in the Netherlands. She suffers from major neck pain due to degeneration. Dr. Baker has started giving

her adjustments when she visits us. After trying everything in The Netherlands from injections in the neck to deaden the nerves to major pain killers we have finally found something that helps her pain, adjustments at Baker Chiropractic.

Now nearly a year later Dr. Baker is now treating 4 generations of women in my family. I am very happy I found Baker Chiropractic. Mara Murphy

HDoggie ow Much is that in the Window? by Cindy Huff & Terri Noftsger
Do you remember that song? I’ll bet you’ve heard a Mom or Dad say something like “Susie/Sam is getting old enough to take care of a kitten, so let’s go pick one out at the Shelter to give him/her for Christmas”. Here’s one from my own childhood: “Mom and Dad, PLEASE can I have a horse for Christmas?” During the holiday season, parents/spouses/friends often think that an animal will be a wonderful present for someone they love. Or, we want to help a homeless animal we happen to see on TV or on the Internet in the spirit of giving during this time of year. While the above may be very true, let’s stop and think about what goes on for us as humans during this time of year. For most of us in this country, the months of
12
November and December are hectic and stressful. We think about family members we need to see, presents we need to buy, decorating we need to do, special cookies or cupcakes that need to be baked for parties, and on and on it goes. For many of us that work for financial institutions or retailers, there is more stress at work. We are out running errands, we stay up later getting things done, and we feel more tired than usual. We often communicate to clients and our readers that bringing a new animal into your home and your life requires thought, planning, and time at home WITH the new arrival. We liken it to bringing a human baby home in that respect… new parents need to prepare the home for the baby, and realize that their main focus will BE the baby. The same is true, to a lesser degree, when bringing a new dog,
Winter Wonderment 2020
cat, bird, hamster, or iguana into your home. It is ESPECIALLY true if the new addition is a puppy that requires training in going to the bathroom outside and not chewing on everything in sight, or a kitten that will be into absolutely everything in the middle of the night! Bringing a new pet into a new home during a time when you are busy, stressed, and tired is not in the best interest of that new pet. They deserve and need more from you. If you are considering giving someone a pet as a gift, we ask that you think carefully about what the best time is for the animal as well as their new human. Consider giving the person a stuffed toy dog, cat, bird or horse as their Christmas gift, with a picture of the new pet enclosed in a card. Set a date to go with that person to pick up the new pet AFTER the holidays are over if at all possible. This will give the person time to plan and to prepare their home for the new addition. Explain to the Shelter/ Rescue/breeder that you want to do what is best for that animal, and would they consider holding them for you until after the holidays. Most responsible organizations and people should at least consider doing that for you if they are able. A word to parents on the subject of giving children pets to “teach them responsibility”. I hear that one a lot from parents, and I always cringe when I do. If you want to teach your child responsibility, and that child has not been asking for a pet, then please don’t do it! Give them a routine task to do instead like mowing the lawn each week, or taking out the garbage or cleaning their room. When I asked my parents repeatedly for a horse as a child, they were wise enough to understand that until I was older, I was not going to be capable of caring for a horse entirely myself. Instead we got a dog, and I subjected them to a duck, a snake, a turtle, several goldfish, and hatched praying mantises in my mom’s flower arrangement (she was NOT amused). For those with pets, be sure to take time to acknowledge and connect with them at least briefly each day. They do not understand why we are more stressed and at home less. If you are having family
Infinity
and friends over, please let your pets know ahead of time. If you have a pet that is shy or who does not like noise, please make sure they have a quiet place in the house to go to while company is there. If you are traveling during the holidays, please let your pets know how long you will be gone, and that you are coming back to them. Tell them you love them, and that you always come back. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season. Please take time to breathe and be at least once a day, and enjoy the wonderful lights and sights and sounds of this time of year!

Choosing Joy
by Cynthia M. Brown
Covid 19 is a thief and I have been robbed. My mother, whom I have written about many times over the years, was a long time cancer patient. She enjoyed a more than six year remission that ended in late Feb. She was set to begin testing and treatment in midMarch and then the state of Georgia shut down its cancer centers and hospitals for over three months. My mother’s cancer advanced, and after months of interventions and trying to stabilize her body so she could begin treatment, she died. Make no mistake, I knew she could not live forever with stage four metastatic ovarian cancer of the lymphatic system but, COVID robbed us all of the opportunity for a little more time with her and she, us. I have been looking at photos of my mom, Beanie, I called her. Even in the hospital, G tube and waiting for surgery, again… she was smiling and laughing. Her eyes twinkled, so much so that most people did not realize she was blind. My Beanie loved life. Her favorite movie was Lust for Life. She loved food. We joked as we waited for her liquid diet that she would have steak soup (beef broth) in the hospital and a thick porterhouse on the grill when she got home. I have a picture of her holding a donut like a cigar ala Groucho Marx in a hospital bed. She would tell you that dark chocolate and raspberries were a sign that God loved you and wanted you to be happy. She loved the outdoors and gardens. As much as she loved to be out there with her flowers, when it rained, she smiled and said, ”Oh well, the plants can use a good drink,” and she would stay inside and find other things to fill her day. My mom was not a Pollyanna by any means. She had endured a lot in her life. Her mother was mentally ill. She raised five kids while my father travelled for work, sometimes coming home only 51 days a year. She lost her father when she was 15. Her brother was killed in a car accident when he was only 24 years old. She had many health issues over the years and our family had many unfortunate divides over things that seem trivial now. It seems especially cruel that my mom died before the holidays when that is what she wished the most:
to celebrate them just one last time. Because of the pandemic, we had a very small service for her. She is buried in a small private cemetery surrounded by cedar and pine forest. We created a living room in the pine forest with her favorite things and laughed and told stories about her; things that made us smile. Afterwards, we went to the farmhouse, cooked together and decorated a Christmas tree with her great grandson. We ate brownies and ham sandwiches. The house rang with laughter and music even in our grief. That is how we know she will never really leave us. She simply loved life in all of its pain, beauty, ugliness, sorrow and joy. She always chose joy even in the darkest moments. And, on that day, in that moment so did we. What I have been learning my whole life from her, that is now more real than ever, is that joy is a choice. It is a profound wisdom to see the glass as half full; to focus on the life affirming rather than the lifedraining. My Beanie would not think of herself as wise or profound, but she was. Her innate sense for
living each moment to the fullest was the greatest gift of the many that she gave all of us; her children, grandchildren, her friends, the students she taught for 20 years‌ I remember being very young during a terrible storm. The power was out and my father was out with the crews cutting trees away from downed power lines. We were frightened of the storm and of the danger he was in. My mother got candles and snacks and blankets and we had stories on the living room floor by candlelight. She told us the power had gone out so we would remember to stay close and take care of each other and we needed to remember that even in the daylight when we didn’t feel scared or need to be taken care of. It was a gift. So, this holiday season as Christmas carols make a hole open up in my heart; as the sight of holiday lights and the smell of pine makes tears well up in my eyes, I will still celebrate the season. I will sing her favorite carols, eat brownies and open faced subs. I will sip her favorite Christmas punch and I will remember the twinkle in her eye, her warm mellifluous chuckle, and I will choose joy. It’s what Beanie would want.

Lovely Lingonberries Lingonberries are small red jewels similar to the cranberry and are being called a superfruit based on the nutritional value they contain. Lingonberries grow on an evergreen shrub and are native to the Scandinavian region. They are packed with antioxidants, which are beneficial in helping to reduce and prevent heart disease and other conditions. These delicious berries can be enjoyed in sauces or jams and can be found in a health food store or online. Studies have shown that consuming lingonberries can promote healthy gut bacteria, reducing inflammation in the lining of the stomach. This tasty little berry is tart and sweet and can be added to many dishes. Lingonberry extract has been tested in research resulting in findings that it may improve eye health, protecting retina cells due to healing plant compounds. It is possible that a diet of lingonberries can help to prevent and inhibit the growth of many types of cancer cells such
16
as breast, colon and cervical. They are full of fiber and have anti-viral properties as well. The lovely lingonberry can improve brain function, helping with memory and promote oral health by reducing plaque on teeth. Kidney protection from drinking lingonberry juice is effective because the lingonberry contains anthocyanins which help to repair damaged cells. Fresh lingonberries are only available in certain places in the world, such as Finland, Sweden and Norway. They may be found in a few states in the Northeastern region. Lingonberries can also be purchased in powder form or dried, which still enables you to receive their healthy benefits if you are concerned about caloric intake and do not want the added sugar in jams or sauces. The festive and vibrant Lingonberry can add zest to your Holiday table! The best kept secret is the amazing healthy benefits they can provide. The lingonberry could be one of your favorite jams for the Holidays or any time of year!

ADrawing rtist of Life, from Within by Patti Lightflower “It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it. - John Burroughs The sun barely makes an appearance in the northern latitudes for weeks around the Winter Solstice and when it does it casts rosy colors of the sunrise and sunset across a landscape of snow. On clear nights stars reflect in icy lakes, and the cosmic breath of the sun, the solar wind, drops cascading waves of dancing and flowing bands of color magically casting light upon the earth during a time of darkness. This time of the year, we celebrate the return of the sun. As I write this, solstice is another couple of weeks away and the shortest days and long, long nights are here. I have summer and winter landmarks in my home. At the summer solstice, for a few days as the sun sets a beam of light aligns perfectly through my small front door window illuminating objects across the room on a shelf. During the winter solstice the sun no longer shines through the windows on the northwest side of the house and I am delighted in late January when I see a ray of light and a rainbow shooting from the crystal hanging in the window where the returning light first shines. It is also a time of the year for decorating our homes with symbols and treasures that bring us fond memories. A time for creative expression. Many cultures have celebrated this time when the sun returns, and the days grow longer. We are reminded that there are cycles of beginnings and endings, light and dark, growing and replenishing. Change is constant, but within that change we can expect an order to things. It would be amiss to write about light and darkness without also mentioning the times we are in and have been in since the sun moved from solstice to equinox at the beginning of this year. So many of us have spent seemingly endless days and nights in our homes and now that we are moving into a time of even less light,
18
and typically a time spent indoors, it feels difficult to think about going inward even more. So then let us draw from within and express our light, our inner sun. To celebrate this time of the year many cultures from around the world decorate their homes with evergreens. It is easy to snip a few branches from some bushes and trees around where you live or purchase them from local stores. I brought in a few colorful leaves several weeks ago that will fit into an arrangement along with a small bunch of Bittersweet. Leaves of Mistletoe and Holly hung over a door in seasons past brought hugs and kisses as friends, family and lovers passed under. New traditions are being created. Put on your apron, get out your stash of art and craft supplies and make your own holiday cards and ornaments. Currently, I am enjoying coloring mandalas to gift. You can bake and festively decorate cookies to share, turn a fire log into a yule log with a few of the evergreen clippings and a couple of candles, or make a wreath or an alter to honor the season. Remember to take care of self, too. Light a candle, make yourself a relaxing cup of tea, soak in a hot scented bath and spend time quietly going within to find and honor your own light. Christmas Story by Mary as Transmitted to Rev. Marcia Cantrell
My dearest Maria. I am delighted and honored by your request to share the birth of my son, Jeshua Ben Joseph in this time of celebration throughout the world. As you are aware, I was young, only sixteen when I was given the knowledge of the coming of my son. It was within this time until his birth, was made known, what my role was to bring this child, this boy child into the world to save mankind and change the world for ever more. When my son was ready to come into this world he left the safety and comfort of his mother’s womb. It was this moment when I realized how special this small baby was. That I had been chosen to deliver the King of Kings.
where I gave birth and met my son on his, this glorious event.I was told by the shepherds and others who found us they had been guided by a bright star that shone over Bethlehem. My Maria, I was so humbled and blessed to have been chosen as his mother. It is my wish and the work I have done while on Earth and since returning home, that mankind will keep in their hearts the true meaning of this season, the season of love and peace. First genuinely born at the birth of my son, who is also like yours, our Lord and Savior. I humbly ask all to remember why this day has been set aside and reach into your hearts to let go of all that no longer serves you and bring in the healing power of love as a gift to my son and to your selves.
Blessings to All, Mary, Mother of Jeshua

Hofowthe to Celebrate the Spirit New Year in Your Family by Jody Johnston Pawel, LSW, CFLE
Not long ago, the most common opinion about 2020 seems to be that it stunk to high heaven. It wasn’t hard to find, see, or hear people complaining, ready to kick 2020 out the door with a “Good riddance!” Today, more people are feeling hopeful and optimistic, talking about lights at the end of tunnels. What both groups are referring to are the external, outward circumstances of their environment, which their comments seem to indicate are determining their internal, inward state of being. No one will argue that 2020 has been challenging, for many reasons: pandemics, politics, and protests to name three “P’s.” Just about everyone felt some level of fear and loss. We had many opportunities, each day, to make a choice about what we would focus on, where we would shine our light. That decision would
20
automatically determine just how brightly our light shone and what color or clarity it became. So how bright was your light and where was it focusing most of 2020? Focusing outward, shining a light on all that seemed to be bad in the world? Or focusing inward, shining your inner light on what is eternal, beyond the world, and always good. There’s no guilt or shame in admitting no one scored 100% positive on that question! It’s not easy to stay calm, peaceful, and centered in the face of stress, trauma, even disasters. Heck, that’s called being human! Everyone this year has felt some level of stress. For some it was so constant and intense it was toxic, affecting one’s mind and body like a trauma. A few were able to set a conscious intention and put forth deliberate effort to let
Winter Wonderment 2020
go and release --- one of those contradictory actions of inaction. So, while it might have been too challenging to do earlier this year, now is a great time to reflect on the past year and set an intention for starting the new year intentionally tending to your light --- your soul spirit --- specifically, where you will focus it (positive or negative) and how brightly you shine it (how much energy you give to what you are focusing on). Will you commit to changing these negatives to positives? Instead of complaining, focus daily (even multiple times a day) on feeling gratitude for all that is right and well. You can still tend to what’s not “right” while being grateful for what is. When you start to worry about lack, can you give? Giving isn’t always monetary, and it always comes back to you tenfold, and not always in the same form or direction you gave. If you aren’t lacking, make financial donations. Otherwise, volunteer of your time, virtually if you want to feel safer during a pandemic. There are so many ways to help…and so much help is needed these days. When you feel isolated, will you be the first to reach out to others? You don’t need to ask for help, just be there for others in need. You will automatically feel fulfilled and connected.
While the end of each year we tend to look back, and in the beginning of a year we look forward, the only time we really have is right NOW. What choice can you make right now, each moment, to shine your light brightly on the good and positive in the world, and be a part of the solutions most needed?

When you sense potential conflict, will you be the peacemaker? That doesn’t mean giving in or not having a voice, just taking the higher road. Doesn’t mean you have to mediate or solve anything, just bring your higher consciousness to the situation and relationship. That shift alone will bring more peace. When you see or feel division, will you seek unity? Can you mindfully shift your thoughts, words, and actions to “we” instead of “me”? When you feel stressed, will you seek calm? Can you mindfully focus on your breathing, slowing it down? Go through your body, sending peaceful calm to each part, lowering your heart rate, grounding your energy, regaining connection to your core.

Are Bay Leaves Good for You? by Dr. Joeseph Mercola You’ve probably seen cooking shows or read cookbooks that recommended removing the bay leaves you added to your spaghetti sauce or other savory dish. But why put them in if you’re just going to take them out? One enterprising chef said if you really want an answer to that question, throw a couple into a pot of water to simmer for a while, then taste it, and it will emit a fairly heady essence of camphor. Serious Eats continues: “Taste it after five minutes and you’ll probably get a good hit of menthol and eucalyptus (think: Vick’s VapoRub). That’s the chemical eugenol you’re smelling, and it’s the biggest constituent in the bay leaf’s flavor arsenal of more than 50 compounds.”1 But after an hour or so of “steeping” a bay leaf or two in your recipe, the mucus-loosening menthol notes dissipate into something softer and more complex. The suggestion of depth may not be identified at first tasting, but bay leaves lend subtle warmth and piquancy that would leave a dish flat without it. Not to give away some of the mystery of this ancient Mediterranean plant or shrub, but like many of the culinary herbal additions used for thousands of years, antibacterial bay leaves have unique and potent gastrointestinal, respiratory, anti-inflammatory, heart and stress benefits, with anticancer and diabetes preventive qualities thrown in, and more. So why take them out before serving them? In short, if you’ve ever taken a bite of bay leaf, you know its removal becomes necessary immediately, which isn’t always pretty. The texture feels like a dropout from a silk bouquet or a stiff piece of vellum. In short, not pleasant. Bay leaves are kept whole for the simple reason that crumbling them will take that much longer to fish those bits out of your pot of soup than plucking out whole leaves. They’re removed to avoid anyone experiencing the aforementioned unpleasantness, and because of the fact that swallowing the pointy leaves might not feel so good going down.
22
While you certainly wouldn’t use 100 grams of bay leaves in one day, showing the nutrients 100 grams contain gives you a pretty good idea of the high concentration a few leaves might have. Here are the most important nutrients and the percentage 100 grams provides, from Nutrition and You:2 • Iron — 537 percent — helps fight anemia • Manganese — 355 percent — helps support thyroid function • Vitamin A — 206 percent — good for your eyes • Vitamin C — 77 percent — “probably the most potent antibacterial and antiviral agent ever discovered”3 • Calcium — 83 percent — supports strong bones and teeth There’s also an impressive 133 percent of pyroxidine, or vitamin B6, important for being able to make use of the energy the foods you eat provide, for red blood cell production, and proper nerve function. Additionally, high zinc content offers immune support. As you may have surmised, they’re also rich in essential oils. Nature Word lists several of the most prominent, like eugenol, which has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, particularly lethal to several types of colon cancer cells. There are quite a few of these essential oils: • Cineol, the main bay leaf component, found to slow leukemia cell growth4 • Geranyl acetate • Neral • Myrcene — anti-inflammatory and analgesic; has mild sedative effects for stress relief • Alpha-pinene, opens upper respiratory airways,5 and may reduce tumor size as an anticancer agent6 • Linalool, also found in hemp, has mild sedative effects for stress relief
So What Are Some Of the ‘50 Compounds’ In Bay Leaves?
• Methyl chavicol
Bay leaves are an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A and vitamin C, the minerals iron, manganese, copper and calcium, all antioxidants with free radical-scavenging abilities, positively impacting your eyesight, bones and blood.
• Beta-pinene: inhibits growth of potentially infectious endocartis7
• Limonine works against brain cancer cells
• Alpha-terpineol
Winter Wonderment 2020
More Benefits of Bay Leaves Even traditional medicine recommends using bay leaves for digestive issues such as ulcer pain, heartburn, gas and colic, as well as pain from arthritis and other muscle relief. Not just consuming essence of bay leaf is advised, but a poultice or liniment containing the essential oils is said to provide a double whammy of relief. Heart benefits from bay leaves stem from organic compounds caffeic acid, which helps get rid of “bad” cholesterol, and rutin, which strengthens the walls of capillaries in the heart and throughout your body. Regarding digestive health, properties in bay leaves are good for inducing vomiting in case someone has eaten something they need to get rid of. They can also promote urination, which is another way to release toxins. Organic Facts notes: “Organic compounds found in bay leaves are very effective for settling upset stomachs, soothing irritable bowel syndrome, or even lessening the symptoms of Celiac’s disease. Some of the more complex proteins in our modern diet can be difficult to digest, but the unique enzymes found in bay leaves help to facilitate efficient digestion and nutrient intake.”12 They also contain enzymes that can soothe an upset stomach and even irritable bowel syndrome, according to wellness physician Dr. Josh Axe, as well as helping to optimize nutrient absorption.13 Nutrition and You relates another benefit that comes from folate in bay leaves: “Fresh leaves and herb parts are superb in folic acid; contain about 180 mg or 45 percent of dailyrecommended values per 100 g. Folates are important in DNA synthesis, and when given during the periconception period, they can help prevent neural tube defects in the newborn baby.”14
Dried leaves of bay can be steeped in a tea to gain some of the aforementioned benefits. It’s also a classic ingredient in several savory sauces, usually with a tomato base, and delicious on seafood, meats and numerous vegetable dishes. One FYI: Due to the presence of a high concentration of eugenol, bay leaf oil (or bay oil) may be a skin and mucus membrane irritant. It also should be avoided during pregnancy. If you want your bay leaves to last and last, store them in the freezer, which is helpful if you want to buy them in bulk.

How to Use Bay Leaves, and Other Notes It’s important to know that when you buy bay leaves with the scientific term Laurus nobilis, you want it to be the genuine article and not some knock-off from an ornamental plant. They must be from the laurel tree, so shop for quality. While some herbs, when dried, become powdery and tasteless, bay leaves can be dried with very little change in the aromatic components. In fact, Nature Word notes that: “Fresh bay leaves have a mild, leafy fragrance and a bitter taste. Dried ones are significantly more fragrant (the essential oils having had time to set), but slightly sweeter in taste.”15

5 Ways Golden Light Can Clean and Transform by Cindy Griffith-Bennett
Golden Light can be thought of as equivalent to Unconditional Love. It’s such a high vibration that it can clean and transform almost anything. Feeling the doldrums? Golden light it! Dealing with icky vibes? Golden light it! Battling with Inner Judgment? Golden Light it! You get the point. Living life, in or out of a pandemic, can be messy. Things we think we dealt with still pop up from time to time, plus you can’t always control your environment even if you live alone. Like people watching you clean, your mind, emotions and even your past can pop up to let you know you missed a spot! This is where Golden Light comes in handy. You can use it for cleaning the left-over energy from an (1) object you got from the antique store or a (2) space you cleared out. Maybe you have too many people in the house all dealing with their own stuff and you pick up on the (3) low vibe in the house or you
24
dealing with a (4) self-judgment from the past, the high vibration of golden light and the accompanying unconditional love can help. It can even combat the effect of other (5) people’s fear during a trip to the grocery store. 1. Clearing energy from an object: Stuff carries energy. Antiques are a perfect example. Everything is made up of energy and energy is affected by mental and emotional vibes. If your negative Aunt Nellie gave you a desk she had in her house, it still carries a bit of her cranky vibe. Same as a piece of jewelry you wore during a particularly bad break up or phase of your life. Yet you don’t have to destroy the desk or give away that necklace! Just Golden Light it! Imagine the object surrounded by Golden Light. Know or sense that the Golden Light is shifting and raising the vibration of the object. Intend the Golden Light to clear and cleanse the object and ask that anything cleared be sent to the light to be cleared and return as healing energy.
Winter Wonderment 2020
2. Clearing a space after cleaning it: Often clutter creates an energetic stain of its own. Every time you walk by clutter, you probably send a judgement about it like “I should…” or maybe “He or She should!” Or maybe negative Aunt Nellie’s desk sat in that corner and although you finally donated it, the corner still feels weird. That is because Aunt Nellie’s energy is still there or your judgments are. Sometimes, it’s just stale energy and you are using the Golden Light to freshen up a bit! Just Imagine the space filled with Golden Light. Know or sense that the Golden Light is shifting and raising the vibration in a way that is for your highest and most loving good. Intend the Golden Light clear and cleanse the space and ask that anything cleared be sent to the light to be cleaned and return as healing energy. 3. Clearing the low vibe from a room or home: Living with someone who is having a difficult time? Maybe it’s you who is struggling or has a case of the doldrums. As you shed emotion, it sits around like a full garbage can waiting to be emptied. Golden Light can help with that. Yet, clearing a house or room is a little trickier as you don’t want to interfere with someone else’s free will. It is not polite or helpful to use this to clear someone else’s room unless they are very young or give permission. Think of going into a child’s room and throwing out their toys without asking or going through a young adult’s things. You get the idea; it would create more trouble than it is worth! Yet you can still clear it for you. First, set the intention that the Golden Light will not affect anyone who, on a soul level, doesn’t want to accept the shift in vibration. Then imagine Golden Light fill the space you want to clear. (You can do the entire house if you want.) See or know the Golden Light is like a 1,000-watt light bulb shining its light throughout the entire space. Ask that whatever is not for the highest good of all those concerned is removed and sent to the light to be cleared and returned as healing energy. 4. Clearing Past Energy from the Present: You can send Golden Light into the past, present or the future. Sending it into the past can help remap your view of yourself in the past.
Infinity
5. Clearing Fear from the Grocery Aisle. Also called the Blessing Meditation Technique, you can bless with the Golden Light and raise the vibration of the entire store! Send loving Golden Light to those you meet! Always with the intention that if it is not wanted or for the highest good, it is not creating any effect. Hint, this works anywhere, not just the grocery store. (Q) How can I best draw people of the right vibration to me? (A) By the correct vibration in self. Like begets like. - Edgar Cayce reading 2842-2 Now that you know a few ways to use the Golden Light, I am sure you can think of different variations! I would love to hear how you used the Golden Light to help shift a lower vibe to a loving and accepting vibe. Rejoice! The Light Returns! by Cynthia White Flower The darkness comes to an end. We celebrate the return of the light. Early world cultures have left a trail of traditions marking this triumphant new beginning. Celebrated in mid to late December, ancient civilizations have set the pace for our current solstice holidays: the Greeks rejoiced at Haloea; the Romans hailed Saturnalia; the Celts praised Alban Arthuan; Dong Zhi was honored in China and the Incas commemorated Inti Raymi. Rejoice! The light returns! We have another reason to be glad! We are blessed with more to celebrate as we observe the end of an age! This also marks the end of a dark cycle. You see, the precession of Earth’s rotational axis takes approximately 26,000 years to make one complete revolution, which is called The Great Year. Within this Great Year, the sun passes through each sign of the zodiac inspiring personal and world lessons. As we emerge into “The Age of Aquarius,” we progressively leave the darkness behind. The light returns and on a grand scale! Rejoice! The Age of Wisdom is upon us! The wonderment of the winter season is a time to reflect and save sacred space for those in need. Peace will prevail beginning with our heart and soul, as we carry the spirit of light into the new year. Just like the sediment that settles on the bottom of a glass of fresh, unstrained, lemonade, the end of the year and the end of an era leaves thick issues to clean up and clear. Rejoice! This is an opportunity to make change our personal mission! What do we want to see in your life? This, we must create in thought first. Just as the gravity pulls the sediment down in the glass, it can work that way on our thoughts too. We must consciously strive to keep our thoughts up to remain optimistic. We can look at our ancestors’ examples of jubilation as inspiration, for “Behold, the light cometh!” The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, by Levi H. Dowling, Chapter 56: 11 says, “The sons of men are looking up for greater light.” Holding sacred space for

ourselves and for the world allows us to welcome and to bask in this energy that informs us of its greater presence. We have only to acknowledge it and to hold the promise of great change within our hearts to hold the space. We can honor the purity of what is, allowing it to hold us, thereby we become the greater light while holding the space. 56:18: “The new age calls for liberty; the kind that makes each man a priest, enables him to go alone, and lay his offerings on the shrine of God.” The responsibility is ours. We must take the time to be that which we desire. Live the truth. Be the dignity. Love! Be kind. Acknowledge that for you to exist, God IS you and you ARE God. Honor the God within! Yet, 56: 22: says “Fear rides on every passing breeze, and lurks in every form of life.” To be “the change” is to move in the direction of solutions. To be “the fear” brings that which we fear - closer. Manifest. Manifest positive thoughts. Say “There is more light. I AM the light and where there is light, I can see. As I see, I recognize that there is nothing to fear.” 57:04: “In form, men worship God, the One; in heart they are not sure that God exists.” Know your heart. There is THE God Spark waiting to grow into a fire. Open the door! 57: 14: “In light there are no secret things. The sun reveals all hidden truth.” 57: 15. “Behold the rising sun! His beams are entering every door...” 57:21: “Behold, for God has made incarnate wisdom, love and light, which he has called Immanuel.” 58:17: “All things are thought; all life is thought activity. The multitude of beings are but phases of the one great thought made manifest. Lo, God is Thought, and Thought is God.” Meng-ste As the light grows, we grow. Let us consciously grow the peace in our hearts allowing our souls to rejoice! We need to follow The Path of Righteousness. As

the “Age of Spirit Blessedness” is upon us, we are asked to: “Hear, now, O everything that is, or was, or evermore will be, for Wisdom speaks from out of the highest plane of spirit life: Man is a thought of God; all thoughts of God are infinite; they are not measured up by time, for things that are concerned with time begin and end. The thoughts of God are from the everlasting of the past unto the never ending days to come--And so is man, the Spirit-man.” Rejoice! Acknowledge and know that the light returns! Let’s grow together in the oneness of God within ourselves and within the oneness of our human family.

Christmas Miracle by Angela Angel as Transmitted to Rev. Marcia Cantrell My dearest, this is the season of Love. Sadly this doesn’t appear to be happening at this time due to all the chaos and worry on your beloved planet. It is at this time I encourage all of God’s children, and you all are God’s children, to stop, take a deep breath to allow a time out for calming. Once you have done this, now close your eyes, focus on your heart space and allow the energy and love that is freely available to come into your heart and feel this peace that can only come from love. This love is God our Creator. Practice this daily as many times per day that you require this blessing of peace. This is the season you recognize and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jeshua. You are being given a very special gift on Winter Solstice. The Miracle of the Star of Bethlehem. My dear brothers

and sisters, this is a gift from our Creator and his son as a reminder of that holiest of holy events that changed the world from that moment of birth for eternity. This is your Christmas gift. The Star of Bethlehem is in the sky as a reminder of the love bestowed on humanity from the birth of our king in a stable, to now reminding all that his love is still real and as a sign that God continues to look after his flock as did the shepherds who witnessed the miracle that appeared over Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago. You are given this miracle to remind you why you celebrate this Holy Event and keep this feeling of love, hope and peace eternally in your heart. Share the love with all and give thanks to God and Jeshua, our Lord and Saviour.
