Software Enterprise Market The upstream begins with the domestic demand. In the past decade, numerous users have been involved and to meet the demand they didn’t depend on the international market. They tried to meet their demand by them and of course they have done a fine job for their domestic market and also in international market.

I

ndian technology market has been conquered by the enterprise softwares recently. Though India is facing challenging economic condition, the software market has grown to 13.7 percent in this year. According to Gartner, this year revenue will reach around $3.45 billion. The technology researchers are astonished by the uprising performance of Indian enterprise softwares. From 2006 to 2011 they maintained the strong performance and the growth rate is more than 14.6 percent, the highest rate in world technology market. According to 2012’s statistics, India is the fourth largest enterprise software market in Asian Pacific. India’s total revenue will be around $30.3 billion after this year, 11.4% of the region’s total revenues and 1.24% of the whole worlds. Definitely this will create a positive impact on socio-economic growth of the country and more personals will get involved in this sector. Priority areas of software spending include operating systems, DBMS, AIM and Application Development. In the next five,

the fastest-growing segments will be Web conferencing and team collaboration, enterprise content management, CRM and ERP. According to Gartner, Indian enterprises are lagging behind in terms of adoption of these tools, resulting in the fast growth of these markets. Enterprise application software spending will reach $158B by 2016, with 20.8% being spent on ERP systems, 13.4% for Office Suites and 11.7% on CRM. CRM has become an increasingly important element of any successful business. While there are a number of different CRM software choices, the focus remains on the customer relationship with the company. SCM software systems have become proven and accepted tools and will continue to evolve and play a more significant role in organizations. Priority on Data security Infofriend spoke with Mr. Sunil Kripalani, Senior Vice President – Global Sales & Marketing, eScan on the enterprise software market Which are the key segments that drive the enterprise software market in India? India is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing economies in the world. As a result of impressive growth of the economy, IT spending expected to significantly increase in verticals such as Education, BFSI, Telecommunication, Healthcare, in addition to Government focusing on e-governance, will continue to be a major spender. As per Gartner, Inc., social networking, mobile communications, the cloud and information are important factors in driving even greater industry transformation, challenging existing business models and processes.

Security is the biggest vertical driving the enterprise software market. What are your expectations from the segment? One of the key drivers of enterprise software market is the increasing need of data security due to the increasing data theft wherein attacks from hackers seeking sensitive or competitive information. In the past, high-profile cyberattacks such as Sony did highlight the potential damage that businesses may face in case their sensitive and valuable data is stolen.

Has the Indian enterprises opened up to the advantages of ERP systems in India? Yes, enterprises in India are keen to have Enterprises Resource Planning (ERP) solution implemented in their organizations. With its integrated, multi-module system ERP has evolved as a more comprehensive system that supports a wide range of business functions for large and medium sized businesses such as manufacturing, accounts, general ledger, purchasing, warehousing, transportation and human resources, to name a few. Enterprises in India are taking fullfledged advantage of ERP in order to provide improved customer services

and enhance product values.

What has been the impact of cloud computing on the enterprise software market? Vendors that offer their existing software as cloud services as well as that provide tools for IT to monitor cloud performance, and aggregation services combining packages of different cloud services are likely to benefit with increasing adoption of cloud computing. The vendors get an opportunity to offer various types of data services that integrate disparate data from different cloud services to provide new customer value. Moreover, this allows them to provide additional benefit to their customers and enhance their revenue.

Indian enterprises are lagging behind in the adoption of software tools, what needs to be done to create greater awareness among the enterprises? With increasing cyber threats in business networks, protecting and enhancing the value of information and IT systems is the need of an hour for any business. Hence, organizations must create a culture of security awareness by regular Security Awareness Sessions.

dian economy is leading to a growing need for modern software with the latest features and improved functionality, it said. CRM is leading all other enterprise application areas in net new deployments according to the Gartner study, with the majority of on-premise replacements being in North America and Europe. Gartner projects that by 2016 more than 50% of CRM software revenue will be delivered by SaaS. As of 2011, 35% of CRM software was delivered on the SaaS platform. Gartner expects to see SaaS-based CRM grow at three time the rate of on-premise applications. 95% of Web analytics functions are delivered via the SaaS model whereas only 40% of sales use cloud today according to the findings of this study. The highest adoption rates of SaaS-based applications include sales, customer service, social CRM and marketing automation. .The four reasons why companies don’t choose SaaS include uncertainty if it is the right deployment option (36%), satisfaction with existing on-premise applications (30%), no further requirements (33%) and locked into their current solution with expensive contractual requirements (14%). With Indian enterprises continuing to embrace IT to improve productivity and drive growth, penetration of information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure has been growing rapidly during the past decade. The primary drivers of growth have been the ever increasing domestic demand for innovative and comprehensive data security, the growing maturity of users and incremental enhancements in the technology. India continues to be an interesting market for all the vendors including the international and domestic players. So the market continues to be good with a wide range of system integrators, service providers and business partners. But the local players are also doing well in the market with innovative tools and knowledge for evaluating risks beforehand. By 2016, India’s share of the software market in Asia/ Pacific is expected to reach 12.68 per cent, representing $5.98 billion in revenue, or 1.66 per cent of total worldwide software market revenue of $359 billion. The enterprise software market when compared to the other regional markets is still very young and evolving. So the market is likely to find a good run in the forthcoming years.
