WOK THIS WAY
Pokkoi brings an Asian fusion feast to Cooly.
Oh boy, Pokkoi! Coolangatta has a new culinary hotspot, and it’s bringing the spice to the southern Gold Coast. With lush rainforest vibes and zesty Asian fusion flavours, Pokkoi is here to whisk you away on a sensory journey.
Owner Rachael Nguyen’s flavour-packed reputation precedes her from New Zealand. Having run successful venues there, she’s brought her expertise and enthusiasm across the ditch for her first Australian venture. Known for her hands-on approach, Rachael became a regular at the construction site and at the local Bunnings, ensuring every element of Pokkoi met her vision.
All those Bunnings trips were well worth it, because the venue itself is a feast for the eyes.
Think vibrant ferns and emerald-hued furniture that evokes the enchanting jungles of Vietnam. The outside dining area sparkles with fairy lights, while the interior offers a cosy yet chic space for up to 120 guests.
Helming the kitchen is Rachael’s friend of six years, chef Cameron Knox, whose culinary journey is as rich as his signature curries. Cameron’s love affair with cooking began at Fourteen 7 in Western Australia, where he discovered not just his talent but also a passion for Asian flavours. From those humble beginnings, Cameron’s career skyrocketed him to London, France and even a superyacht.
For two decades, Cameron followed the flavour trail, soaking in techniques, ideas and a whole lot of inspiration. He eventually returned to his homeland of New Zealand, crafting vibrant dining experiences at TOK TOK and Xoong, where his culinary finesse wowed diners, including the owner of Pokkoi. He stole the show at the Taste of Auckland, wowing celebrity chef judges George Calombaris and Marco Pierre White with his red fish curry and signature tacos, to win the prestigious Best in Taste Award.
Rachael wouldn’t settle for anyone else to create this restaurant with her, and for Cameron, it meant a return to Australia, where his love of cooking began. The duo have created a menu that is a treasure trove of creativity and bold flavours.
Prep your palette with a refreshing Hiramasa Kingfish, perfectly balanced with nam jim, citrus and turmeric coconut.
For the adventurous, you can’t go past the indulgent Beef Rendang Donut, paired with coconut cream and peanut. It’s a party for your taste buds.
Those looking for a heartier dish, the Crispy Barramundi Dry Red Curry, topped with pickled chili, herbs and cashews will satisfy the hungriest of diners, while the Whole Burrata served with heirloom tomato, chilli oil, Viet mint and roti is the Asian fusion we’ve all been craving.
Suffering from menu anxiety? Can’t decide what to devour from these mouthwatering dishes? You’re not alone. Pokkoi offers a Taste Me menu at $100 per person, which includes a ten course degustation selected by the chef.
Pair your plates with satisfying tipples from the curated cocktail and wine list. We recommend the Thai Tea Cocktail, a sweet and creamy concoction that promises to be a crowd favourite.
Ready to enjoy a flavour-filled feast at Pokkoi? Wok this way! Just don’t forget to leave room for the Popcorn Cheesecake to finish.

Broadbeach.
If you’re looking for us, you’ll likely find us basking in the good vibes – either at a beach or by a bar. The chilled atmosphere, delish eats, and refreshing sips are sure to keep your spirits as high as the tides!
Breathing new life into a Broadbeach favourite, The Beach Hotel has taken over the iconic site once home to Fat Freddy’s. This revamped venue has traded American sports bar vibes for a breezy, beachside aesthetic, creating a welcoming space that feels perfectly suited to its seaside surroundings. Opening its doors in late 2024, it’s already made waves as the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
Walking into The Beach Hotel Broadbeach feels like stepping into a holiday (even if you’re a local). The airy spaces, natural accents, and indoor-outdoor flow let the sea breeze carry good vibes from the beer garden into the public bar. Every corner is designed for gathering with your sun-loving pals.
Whether you’re here for a laid-back lunch or late-night cocktails, the menu brings together the best of land and sea. Get ready to be wowed as award-winning executive chef Tapos Singha is dishing up chefhatted meals at pub prices.
Start with Freshly Shucked Oysters or the melt-in-your-mouth Hiramasa Kingfish Sashimi, elevated with yuzu kosho, blood orange, white soy, and shiso. Seafood lovers will be just as hooked on main dishes like Singapore Chilli Mussels or King Prawn Bucatini with cherry tomato, prawn bisque, chilli, capers, and garlic
Craving pub grub? All the classics are here, including Crispy Fish And Chips and hearty Chicken Parmigiana. Those looking to spice up their summer will want to dip into the Birria Jaffa Toastie, filled with chipotle-braised short ribs, Mexican cheese, pico de gallo, corn chips, and birria beef broth
Let’s not forget the hand-stretched pizzas that will also hit the spot, like the Nduja with prawns, buffalo mozzarella, tomato, onion, basil and hot honey, or the Wild Funghi with rocket, fior di latte, parmesan, candied walnut and truffle oil.
No session is complete without a cocktail or two (or more! We won’t judge!), and The Beach Hotel’s mixologists know how to bring you sunshine in a glass. The Cheeky Marg Your Way lets you customise your margarita, from tropical coconut to passionfruit punch, and can even be served frozen for those scorching heatwave days. Meanwhile, the Golden Hour Sour will go down as smooth as the setting sun.
For those who are keen for froth and fizz, the tap beers and curated wines will do the trick – chilled tipples to wet your whistle whether you’re lounging in the Beer Garden watching the world go by or catching the cricket with your mates.
The Beach Hotel Broadbeach isn’t just a pub, it’s a hive of activity. Live music keeps the good vibes flowing from Friday to Sunday, while weekly trivia and music bingo nights bring the fun to your festive catch-ups. And when it’s too hot to cook, rally the troops and head to The Beach Hotel, where on Thursdays, you can score half-priced meals for kids under the age of 12.
Sports lovers rejoice, with big screens inside and out, you can enjoy all your favourite sports action live from the deck. Head into the Public Bar for TAB and live sports on wall to wall TVs.
On top of all this, The Beach Hotel is home to a VIP luxury gaming lounge complete with private parking and venue entry.
Whether it’s a casual bite, a full-fledged feast, or simply soaking up the season with a marg in hand, The Beach Hotel Broadbeach serves straight-up good vibes.

Maison Koko’s matcha isn’t just premium – it’s rare. After tasting their Premium
Ceremonial Okumidori Single Cultivar, it left us speechless. Smooth, rich in umami and completely free of bitterness, it offers a deep, complex flavour profile unlike any other. What truly sets Maison Koko apart is the exclusivity of their products. While the global demand for matcha has led to widespread shortages, Maison Koko enjoys VIP access to rare, single cultivars typically unavailable to most brands.
This commitment to rarity has fostered an impressive customer loyalty rate, with over 35% of customers returning and more than 20% subscribing to regular deliveries – some even purchasing weekly.
Freshness that speaks for itself
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill powdered matcha that’s been languishing in a warehouse for who knows how long. It’s fresh, pure and luxurious – straight from Japan’s most prestigious farms to your cup. Freshness is key when it comes to matcha, so unlike other brands that may stockpile matcha for months, Maison Koko ensures its matcha is always fresh. Ground directly from farms in Uji and Yame, Japan, it’s shipped within 3-4 days,
guaranteeing that you receive the freshest, most vibrant product available.
It’s an expensive practice, but one Maison Koko embraces to offer nothing but the best. They even guarantee that no matcha leaves their facility if it’s older than four weeks – proof of their unwavering commitment to quality. Beyond matcha: a full range of delights
Maison Koko doesn’t stop at offering premium ceremonial matcha. With over 15 distinct grades of matcha, there’s something for every type of matcha lover – whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a first-time drinker. They also offer a selection of carefully crafted pre-made latte mixes, including Taro, Hojicha, Turmeric, Cacao, and Chai.

This thoughtful, personal touch makes Maison Koko matcha the perfect gift or a special treat just for you. A shopping experience to remember Enjoy a seamless shopping experience from start to finish, their customer care is the only thing smoother than their products! They offer same-day dispatch for orders placed before 12pm, and for those on the Coast, most orders arrive within 1-2 days via standard shipping. A legacy of culinary recognition
Maison Koko has quickly become the matcha of choice for top-tier establishments and renowned chefs worldwide. But don’t just take our word for it garnering global acclaim, gracing the kitchens of culinary royalty like Cedric Grolet and Adriano Zumbo. The brand has also partnered with prestigious names like The Langham, Gold Coast, as well as renowned establishments, including KOI Dessert Bar, Agnes Bakery, and Rise Bakery. This network of culinary excellence speaks volumes about the quality and reputation of Maison Koko’s matcha. So, if you’re ready to elevate your mornings, afternoons and every matcha moment in between, it’s game, set, matcha to Maison Koko of refinement and luxury.

HOPE ISLAND’S NEW HOT SPOT
Playgrounds, pints and good times at the revamped Hope Island Tavern.
It’s official – Hope Island Tavern has had the ultimate glow-up.
Tucked in the heart of Hope Island, this much-loved local watering hole is stepping into its 2.0 era with a complete renovation, and trust us, it’s ticking all the boxes.
Whether you’re seeking a lazy family lunch, a cheeky drink with mates, or a front-row seat to the game of the season, this is your new go-to for good times on the Goldie. Gone are the days of the old tavern setup (RIP, but thanks for the memories). Now, you’re greeted with a lush new beer garden that’s basically sunshine and happiness rolled into one.
Picture this: picnic tables nestled under market umbrellas, surrounded by greenery and a vibe that screams coastal cool. Add a playground and voilà – you’ve got the ultimate family-friendly destination.
It’s all about alfresco living here, and LBH, is it even a Queensland pub if you can’t sip a cold one while soaking up some rays?
Inside, the revamp leans into the tavern’s coastal retro vibe, with green stripes and rattan setting the scene for a relaxed yet elevated experience.
The bistro has had a zhuzh-up too, and the sports bar is now a sports fan’s dream come true. We’re talking mega screens showing all the live action, so whether it’s the cricket or footy that gets your heart racing, you won’t miss a beat. And with plenty of seating options, there’s always room for your crew.
Now let’s talk about the menu because, honestly, we’re always thinking about food.
The good news is they’ve kept your fave pub classics, because who doesn’t love a Chicken Parmy or a good Smash Burger?
But they’ve also gone next-level with some seriously drool-worthy additions.
Case in point: the Prawn & Bug Rolls, slathered with chervil mayo and paired with crispy fries. Or how about the Sauteed Prawns with Chorizo, swimming in smoked paprika butter and sherry and served with house-made focaccia for mopping up every last drop?
Then there’s the pièce de résistance – the Salsiccia Pizza, straight out of the woodfired oven, with mozzarella, pork and fennel sausage, caramelised onion, broccoli, and thyme. It’s basically a party on a plate.
We hope you left room for dessert. The gelato station is a hit with kids and adults alike, and for the grown-ups feeling a little extra, you can even opt for a boozy gelato paired with your favourite liqueur. Genius, right?
If all that wasn’t enough, Hope Island Tavern’s weekly programming seals the deal. Thursday nights mean trivia, Fridays are for tradies with a BBQ and live music from 5pm, and Saturdays bring free kids’ entertainment from 2pm, followed by more live tunes.
Sundays? It’s Family Fun Day, featuring activities for the little ones and a classic Sunday Roast that’s calling your name. Venue Manager Troy Williams nailed it when he said the renovation was all about putting the community front and centre. It’s clear that Hope Island Tavern isn’t just back – it’s better than ever.
So, whether you’re rolling in for the gelato, the pizza, or just want to kick back in the beer garden with a frosty brew, this newly revamped tavern is where the good vibes live. Don’t walk, run – because this place is about to become the talk of the town. Cheers to that!

YUM CHA-LLELUJAH!
Madame V brings the heat to Palmy.
Madame V has moved into Palm Beach and she is shaking up the local dining scene with a blend of fresh, Asian-inspired eats including a very necessary and longawaited Yum Cha Sundays offering.
The fabulous newbie is the work of acclaimed Gold Coast chef and restauranteur extraordinaire Daniel Ridgeway, whose delights you would have sampled across the Coast over the years including Mermaid’s French fine-dining venue Little Truffle.
Madame V is the perfect addition to Palmy and we love stuffing ourselves silly with a menu that reads like a dream come true. Blending modern and traditional flavours, expect to sample small dishes like Sticky Pork Ribs with black vinegar caramel and Tempura Vegetables
with ginger salt and wasabi mayo. Larger dishes like Spicy Beef Tenderloin with sesame and chilli and Miso Salmon with sweet white miso will blow your mind too.
Yum Cha Sundays is one of the most exciting things Palmy has seen in a long time (and well overdue if you ask us). You’ll get the full dim sum experience complete with dumplings and BBQ pork buns
Plus, there’s a stunning sushi and tataki menu for seafood lovers, including the Tuna Tataki with chilli daikon and Rainbow Sushi Rolls that are sure to impress.
Feeling thirsty? The cocktail menu at Madame V is just as vibrant as the food. Try the Business as Yuzual, a mix of Toki Japanese whisky, yuzu and aquafaba – or the tropical Sake It Easy, featuring Triple G gin, lychee liqueur and sake. There’s also a premium sake selection that pairs beautifully with the Asianinspired dishes.
The atmosphere at Madame V is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re there for a laidback meal in the lounge bar or a special night out in the elegant dining room, the vibe is relaxed and stylish.
If you’re after something even more
exclusive, Madame V’s private dining rooms are a game-changer. Choose between the Sakura Room (up to 16 guests), the Lotus Room or Jasmine Room (both up to 18 guests), or combine the Lotus and Jasmine rooms for a party of up to 50 guests. For the ultimate experience, there’s even the option of a private chef and bartender, making your evening unforgettable.
The concept is something Ridgeway has been working on for quite some time and with nothing even close in Palm Beach and beyond, you know it’s going to be good. Madame V is an all-in-one destination for delicious food, great drinks, and a dining experience that’s second to none. Whether it’s a casual catch-up, a special occasion, or an epic Sunday Yum Cha session, this is one restaurant you need to visit. Get down there asap and try it out for yourself. We’ll see you there for Yum Cha Sunday (probably every week).

YOUR AUTUMN WINE LINE-UP
Wines That Tell a Story Téssera Wines and Welland Wines.
At Wine Simple, we believe great wine isn’t just made—it’s crafted with care, tradition, and heart. Every bottle we offer comes with a story, sourced from passionate small winemakers and hidden gems across Australia’s finest regions.
WELLAND WINES: PRESERVING
BAROSSA’S LEGACY
In 2017, a historic Barossa Valley vineyard planted in 1923 faced destruction, listed for sale as a development site. A group of friends, led by Ben and Madeleine Chapman, refused to let its legacy be lost. Outbidding developers, they saved the vineyard and created Welland Wines – a testament to preservation and passion.
WINE: OLD HANDS SHIRAZ 2018
BAROSSA VALLEY – $70
The Old Hands Shiraz that started it all for Welland Wines. It’s made from the 100 year old vines saved from the bulldozer. It honours the grape growers whose generational knowledge
has shaped the Barossa into one of the world’s greatest wine regions. This is classic Barossa Shiraz—bold and generous. Aromas of red fruits, sweet spice, and cedar give way to a palate of dark fruits, chocolate, and soft tannins.
WINES: VALLEY & VALLEY SHIRAZ 2022 & CABERNET SAUVIGNON
BAROSSA & EDEN VALLEYS – $30
The Valley & Valley Range celebrates the unique character of both the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Welland use fruit from both valleys to create the best of both regions. Valley & Valley Shiraz: Concentrated red and blue fruits are balanced with dark chocolate, mocha, and subtle spice. The palate is rich, with soft tannins and great length. Valley & Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: Dark fruits, cassis, and licorice shine alongside hints of spice and oak. Smooth, elegant tannins provide a long, satisfying finish. Both wines are carefully fermented and aged for up to 12 months in American oak, offering a true taste of Barossa quality. Exceptional quality for the price.
TÉSSERA WINES:
CONNECTION IN EVERY GLASS
Founded by four friends over a bottle of wine, Téssera Wines is all about bringing people together. Though based in Brisbane, the Téssera team sources fruit from South Australia’s exceptional Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale regions to craft wines that are as memorable as the moments they accompany.
WINE: THE GOOD OIL CABERNETSHIRAZ BLEND 2021
The Good Oil Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Using traditional techniques like basket pressing and open fermentation, it matures for 20 months in American oak. The result? Layers of blackcurrant, roasted capsicum, and leather, with a hint of Christmas cake on the finish. Pair it with Greek Lamb unforgettable meal.
WINE: PEGGY SUE SPARKLING PINOT NOIR – $30
The Peggy Sue Sparkling Pinot Noir celebration. Pale salmon in colour, its delicate bubbles burst with flavours of peaches and strawberries, finishing crisp and vibrant. Perfect for any celebration—or simply “just because”.
At Wine Simple, we do the hard work of finding wines that matter – wines with history, passion, and craftsmanship. Both Welland Wines and Téssera Wines are available now, ready to be delivered straight to your door. Explore these wines and more at winesimple.com.au and let us bring the best of Australian winemaking to your table.
GET READY FOR GOOD JUJU
A new era of dining and divine vibes at Nobby Beach.
Get ready, Gold Coast, because JuJu is bringing a whole new level of fun and flavour to Nobby Beach. If you’re a fan of good food, great vibes, and even better after-parties, then this new split-level venue is going to be your next obsession. With its upscale dining meets European-inspired after-hours party scene, JuJu is here to deliver high-end “mischief” with a hearty side of sophistication.
Taking over the beloved space that was once Hellenika, JuJu is the brainchild of the geniuses behind some seriously cool Brisbane venues, Trent Redman and Cody Beck. According to Trent, JuJu is all about keeping the night alive, even after the bill hits the table and sir, we concur!
Downstairs, the decor features playful touches of local art and glorious greenery, giving the place a warm and inviting vibe that says, “stay a little longer”. The lush and leafy surrounds, where earthy vibes and chic sophistication collide, are truly awe-inspiring. Think expansive trees (giving off some serious zen garden energy), and luscious greenery galore. The seating options are as diverse as the dishes; from stylish communal tables to intimate nooks for romantic post feed beverages, there’s a spot for everyone.
Or slide into an oh-so-now striped booth – perfect for those long, lazy lunches. With soft neutrals, warm wood tones, and pops of greenery, it strikes the perfect balance between laid-back vibes and high-end style.
Upstairs, the entire space is as easy on the eyes as the cocktails are on the palate. The expansive windows paired with a chic colour palette of soft pastels and earthy tones are nothing short of perfection. The ceiling drips with greenery, creating a canopy of cascading vines and let’s not forget the bar. She’s a
showstopper, combining terracotta hues and ever on-trend marble.
Okay, let’s eat! Why not start with a Duck Rillette with orange marmalade and a warm baguette or perhaps a sharesies dish of Spanner Crab with broken rice, turnips and sabayon might float your boat. As for mains, the Pollo Ballotina; chicken ballotine wrapped in prosciutto, dried nuts and fruits, parsley and truffle supreme is a sure thing. Or – and we can highly recommend – the chef’s selection Tommy’s TomaHawk with 1kg wagyu tomahawk and jus and yes, this dish is named after the one and only Tom Tate!
Still hungry? We won’t judge especially when there’s Bezier Curveon on offer. Think chocolate mousse, whipped chocolate ganache, chocolate sable… and we’ve possibly had a choc-induced heart attack but legit #worthit.
Not ready to leave? Us either and the real party starts when you head upstairs. Follow the dual staircases to the rooftop bar and prepare yourself for a cocktail-fuelled fancy fiesta, complete with tequila carts, a retractable roof, and DJ-saxophonist combos that’ll have you feeling like you’ve just landed in Mykonos.
As Cody puts it, JuJu isn’t just another restaurant – it’s a vibe.
“Upstairs, after 9pm, you’d be forgiven if you thought you’re in Mykonos or Mexico.” Hola and γεια all at once.
So, if you’re looking for a spot that ticks all the boxes – mouth-watering food, chic vibes, and a little cheeky late-night fun, JuJu is where it’s at. Whether you’re winding down your workweek with an epic dinner or ramping things up with rooftop cocktails and live beats, JuJu has a little something for everyone.

Ooh la la! From the creative minds behind the beloved El Burro Cantina, husband-and-wife team, Marcus McKay and Amalia Tambling, have traded tacos for terrines, blending their culinary expertise with a dash of Parisian panache.
The brasserie takes its name from Saint Marthe, the Patron Saint of Hospitality, and Rue Saint Marthe in Paris, where Marcus and Amalia lived while running the kitchen of a bustling bar and restaurant. Inspired by those years of French adventures, they’ve created a slice of Paris right in the heart of Tamborine Mountain.
Saint Marthe is as much about community as it is cuisine – a gathering place where
friends, family and even furry friends like Maisie, their beloved Jack Russell, come together for good food and good vibes. “It’s a beautiful building in the centre of town in a beautiful place where we know so many members of the community,” says Amalia.
With decades of hospitality experience from Europe to Vanuatu, Marcus and Amalia have poured their passion into every detail of Saint Marthe. And we mean EVERY detail. From the large mirrors, bench seating, brass accents and VJ panelling, the couple have had a hand in the floor, walls and ceiling of the restaurant, with the help of their brilliant builder John Ward. It’s Parisian chic meets Queenslander charm, perfectly complimenting the Frenchinspired menu.
In the kitchen, Marcus teams up with longtime friend and local chef Angeline Olive to create a menu that’s as comforting as it is sophisticated. While the food sings French classics, the vibe stays quintessentially local, blending Tamborine’s relaxed atmosphere with that irresistible je ne sais quoi.
With everything made in-house – oui, even the pickles and mustard – Saint Marthe doesn’t just serve food, it serves stories on a plate.
Pop in for a Charcuterie Board piled high with pork terrine, ocean trout rillettes, house cured meats, pickles and fresh bread. Settle in for a hearty main, like a classic Steak Frites with house aged, char-grilled hanger steak or rib fillet served with baby spinach, fries, béarnaise and red wine
For a real French feast, dive into the Duck Confit, served with paris mash, green beans, beetroot marmalade, thyme jus or the souffle of gruyere cheese and caramelised onion, green leaf salad. No matter the size of your appetite, Saint Marthe will leave you utterly satisfied.
Pair your dishes with refreshing sips like the house-fermented lemonade or lemon mint ice tea. For something a little stronger, the extensive list of classic cocktails will leave you satiated, where the wine list will transport you to Bordeaux and beyond.
If sweets are your vice, the in-house patisserie is serving up desserts that could make the Eiffel Tower swoon. Crème brûlèe is served with a strawberry and mint salad and sablé biscuit, molten chocolate pudding oozes French royalty with vanilla mascarpone, raspberry coulis as well as lavender ice-cream with green grapes in honey and cognac, brandy snap
Whether you’re a foodie, a Francophile or just someone in search of a stellar dining experience, grab your friends and even your furry companion for a meal to remember – just as Saint Marthe intended.
A place to wine, dine, snack and gather. French inspired small, medium and main plates so no matter the time of day, we’ve got you covered. Hello flavour!

BEACHSIDE BOWLS
Harahetta Ramen brings a slice of Japan to your bowl.
Authentic Japanese food is one of life’s greatest pleasures, particularly when it can be enjoyed without hopping on a plane and with a side of salty ocean breezes. Which makes anyone who has ventured down to Coolangatta to sample brand-new Harahetta Ramen recently, the richest of Gold Coasters.
It’s the newest hotspot for authentic Japanese cuisine.
Located in Coolangatta’s foodie precinct where Baskk and Bar Evelyn also reside, this new ramen joint is the miso happy place you’ve been looking for, and it’s already a hit with those of us who appreciate flavour-filled
dishes created by people in the know.
So who are the culinary geniuses behind our new fave ramen joint, you ask?
Harahetta Ramen’s roots trace back to Goukai Ramen, the beloved Burleigh gem that established a devoted following thanks to its delicious broths and exceptional service. Owners Hiroshi and Sarah Takeyama who are Tweed locals, sold Goukai Ramen in February when they saw an opportunity to create their dream venue in Cooly.
Hiroshi trained to be a Ramen Chef in Tokyo and has created a signature broth for the ramen dishes that must be sampled to be believed.
The talented pair have brought the same attention to detail and signature touch to this new venue, building on the strong legacy that Goukai Ramen set to deliver a modern twist while maintaining the rich, satisfying flavours that put their name on the map.
Sarah’s dad, Peter Arnold, designed the fit-out and was project manager. Hiroshi and his friends built the space, which is low-lit and moody with exposed ceiling beams,
a textured bar, and glossy black tiles that’ll transport you straight to the bustling streets of Japan.
Now let’s talk food. The menu begins with a choice of eight ramen dishes and please, allow us to indulge you for a minute.
The Original Ramen is made up of half a marinated egg, shallots, wood ear mushrooms, two slices of pork chashu and seaweed Perfect.
Then there’s a Spicy Ramen, Black Garlic Ramen, Shio Ramen with a Yuzu flavour, Maze Soba (brothless) and, of course, both a veg and vegan option. Obviously, you can (and should) add extra toppings.
If you feel like something a little different, there are Rice Bowls with options like Teriyaki Mayo Karaage, Sweet Chilli Karaage, Nanban Japanese Tartar, and Ponzu Radish. You can also snack on burgers, Gyoza and Karaage Chicken too. All of which is a true delight for the taste buds.
To drink, there is beer, wine, and spirits, but we highly recommend sampling the Lemon Chu Hi – a popular Japanese sip that is fresh and zingy and the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of ramen.
All of this plus a balmy beachside location. What more could you want? Make your next dinner out an authentic Japanese one at Harahetta Ramen.
Open Monday – Saturday 5pm - 9pm

SURF’S UP Dive into the new Tallebudgera Surf Club.
Talk about a glow-up! A $12 million upgrade has transformed Tallebudgera Creek Park into a go-to destination for tourists and out-of-towners. And now there’s even more reason to visit, as Tallebudgera Surf Club unveils its new look.
The club has been a hub for the community since its founding in the 1940s by six visionary volunteers. With a fresh renovation breathing new life into this beloved institution, it’s now more inviting than ever. Let’s paddle through what’s new, shall we?
Bean Surfing Beach Café is aptly named as a one-stop spot for your post-surf pick-me-up. Conveniently perched at the Tallebudgera Beach access, it serves up barista-crafted
coffee from 5.30am–2pm with favourite breakfast classics like Avo on Toast and Chilli Scrambled Eggs. It’s the ideal way to fuel up on a sun-soaked day.
When it’s time to swap sand for sport, the Sports Bar is calling your name. With ice-cold beers, piping hot games on the big screen and classic bar snacks delivered right to your table, it’s a haven for mates looking to cheer, chat and chow down.
When hunger strikes, head to the Restaurant and Café, where mouthwatering meals meet million-dollar ocean views.
The new menu shines with fresh and vibrant dishes like Burrata Caprese, combining creamy Byron Bay burrata with heirloom tomatoes, basil dressing and olive oil. The Lobster Taco is a seafood lover’s dream, featuring battered lobster tail, baby gem lettuce, sriracha mayo and soft taco shell
For a show-stopping feast, The Seafood Platter for Two is a coastal feast featuring local king prawns, a selection of oysters, grilled market fish, salt and pepper squid, sautéed garlic bugs, glazed parsley butter and selected accompaniments.
Prefer something heartier? The Sunday
Roast brings back tradition with chef-selected cuts of meat, roasted to tender perfection. Whether ocean-fresh or farm-raised, these dishes celebrate the best local flavours with every bite.
Surf club classics are also on the menu, including hand stretched pizzas, juicy steaks like 200g Queenslander Eye Fillet and hearty housemade Chicken Parmigiana. There’s something for everyone including a dedicated kids’ menu for the little nippers.
For the adults, the drinks menu is stacked with fun cocktails like the signature Tallebudgera Thunder – combining refreshing coconut water, zesty ginger beer and the smooth, spiced kick of Tropical Captain Morgan. Pair that with tap beers and curated wines to keep cool all day (and night) long.
Last but certainly not least, no sunny day is complete without a trip to the Gelato Bar, boasting 12 dreamy flavours to please every palate.
Beyond the food and fun, every dollar spent supports lifesavers who keep our beaches safe. From cocktails to coffee, your visit helps train and equip those who protect our shores. This summer, Tallebudgera Surf Club is more than a destination – it’s a community celebration.

FULL STEAM AHEAD
All aboard The Platform cafe.
When it comes to cafés, The Platform doesn’t just toot its own horn – it blows the whistle loud and proud. Newly opened in the heritage-listed Murwillumbah railway station, this pint-sized gem is serving up some serious trackside treats for rail trail riders, foodies, and coffee lovers alike. Housed in what used to be the station’s waiting area, The Platform packs big charm into its cozy footprint. Whether you’re pedalling for pastries or just after a scenic stop, this spot is your golden ticket.
The brains (and taste buds) behind this venture are none other than Hannah Setchell and Toby Bamford – affectionately known as “Hanbam” – the creative duo behind Apex Dining and Baked at Ancora. With over 50 years of combined foodie know-how, these two
know how to turn your average coffee stop into an unforgettable culinary experience.
Co-owner Toby teamed up with Rebecca Whan of Patternshop Studio to create a space that screams charm and history in equal measure. Nestled in the heart of Murwillumbah’s 130-year-old station, The Platform feels like it’s always been part of the landscape, shaded by lush trees and surrounded by parklands. It’s the kind of place where you can park your bike, take a breather, and pretend for a moment that life doesn’t revolve around emails. It’s also very handily located next door to Better By Bike, so you can fuel up then hit the trail.
Hannah’s kitchen is the real MVP here, serving up everything from buttery croissants (fresh from Baked at Ancora) to Aussie classics like old-school ham, cheese and seeded mustard jaffles. Let’s just say the Cubano’ loaded croissant – layered with corned beef, sweet mustard and house pickles, swiss cheese and spicy mayo, will make your taste buds do a little happy dance. And for the plant-based crowd, the Vegan Roll with roast sweet potato, lentil and leek wrapped in crunchy gluten and
dairy free pastry, showcases the thoughtful creativity that goes into every bite.
Planning to hit the trail? They’ve got you covered with picnic packs, perfect for fuelling your day of exploring. Starting at $15, there’s a kid’s pack with a sandwich, popper, banana bread and coconut yoghurt with fruit salad. For the grown-ups, packs include a chicken wrap (huge and delicious), quinoa salad, coconut yoghurt with fruit salad, apple and homemade “Rail Trail Mix” because nothing says adventure like snacks on the go! Vegan packs switch out the wrap for one of their dreamy sausage rolls. There are also cheese platter packages with cheese, pita crisps, grapes, a pear and a selection of homemade dips. Picnicking has never looked so good!
If you’re more about sipping than snacking, The Platform is brewing up the goods. Fresh juices, smoothies, and specialty coffees are on the menu for those early trail risers. But rumour has it that evenings could see this cosy cafe transform into a European-style wine bar, complete with local cheeses and wines. Tour de France vibes, anyone?
The Northern Rivers Rail Trail itself just snagged Gold in the Tourist Attractions category at the NSW Tourism Awards, and The Platform is quickly becoming its crowning jewel. With plans to add picnic tables, renovate the old water tower, and activate the railway turntable, the precinct is shaping up to be the ultimate day out for Gold Coasters and beyond.
So, whether you’re hitting the trail, hunting for the perfect croissant, or just want to soak up the charm of Murwillumbah’s history, make The Platform your next stop. Trust us – it’s worth every pedal stroke.

SPARKLING STYLE
TO BUILD YOUR FIRST CAPSULE WARDROBE
WHITE SHIRT
Curating a tight edit of pieces that you love is guaranteed to see your closet consuming less while, quite literally, saving you time, money; and stress on the daily.
Firstly, let’s get clear on what a capsule wardrobe actually is...
A capsule wardrobe is a collection of thoughtfully curated, easily interchangeable items designed to maximise the number of outfits you can create.
These long-lasting looks focus on a quality over quantity philosophy, while streamlining your closest and embracing fashion sustainability.
But before you start culling your wardrobe, you must be clear on your desired personal style. Your wardrobe, (no matter how big or small), must reflect your style and be in complete alignment with your body shape, personality; and lifestyle.
Here are my Five Must-Have Items to Build Your First Capsule Wardrobe
Depending on how casual, corporate or elevated your lifestyle is, a classic white tee or button-up shirt is the perfect base to any wardrobe. Simple, clean, timeless and will match or layer with almost anything; a white top will likely be your most worn item in a capsule wardrobe.
DENIM
Denim as a fabric holds such great durability and adds an understated yet edgy structure to an outfit. Shorts, skirt or jeans; find the perfect denim cut and wash for you. Plus, this transseasonal staple can be paired with any colour of the rainbow.
MAXI DRESS
A comfortably elevated option and a beautiful dopamine hit. A maxi dress provides an easy reach when you receive those last minute invitations, and can be dressed up or down as you please. You can opt for a floral, pattern or stick to a plain colour; the maxi dress requires very little thought!
MATCHING SET
Although matching sets may seem quite on trend at the moment, (and that’s not what a capsule wardrobe is about), the value-per-wear and versatility of a set is enormous. Wear each piece as a separate or as a pair, dress with heels or with flats, top buttoned up or open with a tank underneath; a matching set covers all bases.
VERSATILE SHOES
So often it’s the footwear that can be the Achilles heel of a headto-toe look. Many of us will spend time and change our entire outfit, simply because we had no appropriate footwear to match. A simple tan sandal/slide or white sneakers are a perfect final touch to the wardrobe. You won’t have to think about matching or discomfort, agreeable and versatile footwear is where it’s at always!

Discover the bliss of Kenz Beauty Spa & Moroccan Hammam.
Ladies, it’s time to scrub off the stress (literally) and level up your self-care game at Kenz Beauty Spa & Moroccan Hammam, the Gold Coast’s newest sanctuary of self-care. Bringing centuries-old Middle Eastern traditions to our sun-soaked shores, this luxe Moroccan hammam invites you to experience wellness as it’s meant to be: indulgent, holistic and completely transformative.
Whether you’re looking to zen out, celebrate with the crew, or just treat yourself because #WhyNot, this luxe slice of Morocco is serving up next-level pampering with a side of ancient tradition. Prepare to be steamed,
scrubbed, and seriously spoiled.
At the helm of this hammam heaven is Rim, a visionary entrepreneur and founder of Kenz Beauty, a thriving skincare brand named after her daughter, Kenzie.
Inspired by the ancient bathing rituals of her Arabic heritage, Rim made it her mission to recreate the authentic hammam experience here in Australia. Her journey took her from the bustling souks of Marrakesh to the winding streets of Cairo, collecting every element of Moroccan tradition that now graces this luxurious spa.
From the moment you step inside, Kenz Beauty Spa sweeps you away to another world. Think warm, earthy tones, stunning mosaics and the kind of ambiance that makes you feel 100% justified in never leaving.
Rim has nailed the balance between luxury and tradition, creating a space where you can leave the hustle and bustle at the door and just breathe.
Not clued up on hammams? Allow us to enlighten you. Rooted in Moroccan and Turkish traditions, the hammam is a time-
honoured ritual designed to detoxify the body and rejuvenate the mind.
Start with a soul-soothing steam, then move on to a luxurious soak before being scrubbed within an inch of your life (in the best way possible). The result? Skin so soft it practically glows, a relaxed AF mind, and a vibe that says, “Yes, I do yoga twice a week” (even if you don’t). Plus, it’s all done with natural, skinloving products that’ll leave you feeling like the queen you are. Translation: you’ll walk out with a glow that rivals the Gold Coast sunrise.
Kenz Beauty offers a menu of luxurious treatments that combine ancient practices with modern indulgence.
Want to feel like royalty? We recommend the Rejuvenating Royal Dream Hammam, an indulgent ritual features rose clay wraps, a sea salt foot scrub, and an exfoliation using traditional black soap.
Add in an argan oil hair treatment scented with ylang-ylang, and you’ll be floating out the door on a cloud of self-care bliss.
More than just a spa, Kenz Beauty is a space to reconnect – with yourself, tradition and the art of wellness. Whether you’re celebrating something special, enjoying a girls’ day out, or flying solo for some “me time,” this is where your glow-up journey begins.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your robe, step into the steam, and let Kenz Beauty Spa take care of the rest. Pro tip: book your session now. Your skin (and soul) will thank you.

What do you love the most about the GC?
Beyond its stunning beaches, it’s the perfect balance between a relaxed lifestyle and a dynamic business environment. With strong support for entrepreneurship, the GC has played a key role in helping me grow my business.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for fashion, which led me to a career in the industry. To just name a few, I’ve worked with Billabong, Seafolly, The Iconic, Marcs and Morrissey. These experiences have taken me to China, India, Europe, and the USA, where I’ve built strong relationships with suppliers and clients.
I can see the challenges many brands face in finding reliable factory partners, so I relocated to Guangzhou, China, where I worked direct with a factory producing for global fashion brands. Experiencing the industry from the manufacturing side was an eye-opening experience that inspired me to create my own company, Fashion Factories. For over 10 years now, I’ve been helping start-ups and established brands navigate the complexities of international sourcing, ensuring they partner with ethical, high-quality factories and maintain a competitive edge.
What is Fashion Factories?
Fashion Factories is a full-service partner for fashion and lifestyle brands. From my trusted network of verified factory partners in China and India, we provide seamless solutions for brands to create custom products and efficiently scale their businesses. What kind of person/business uses Fashion Factories?
Fashion Factories is ideal for anyone in the fashion and lifestyle game who wants a one-stop-shop for high-quality, ethical manufacturing and streamlined supply chain management. Typical clients include emerging fashion brands, lifestyle brands, influencers and content creators looking to launch their own line of goods, designers and entrepreneurs who need a little guidance or even e-commerce businesses expanding their product lines. We do it all. Tell us about the process of producing garments for a brand.
We initially start with a concept and design consultation which then leads onto the sourcing and material selection, to prepare for prototyping and sample development. Once approved, we go into production planning while overseeing the quality control. When the products are complete, we supervise the packaging and labelling to get ready for delivery. It’s a process we’re very familiar with and have perfected into an easy timeline. How would you describe the Fashion Factories typical experience?
The typical experience with Fashion Factories is one of collaboration, transparency and execution, making it ideal for brands that value both quality and efficiency.
From the initial idea to the final product, we ensure brands can focus on what they do best, while we handle the complexities of production.
