As with Creamier at Toa Payoh, we are looking to collaborate with Food Bank Singapore to launch vending machines also known as PIKO, short for ‘pick-and-go’, to provide a ordably-priced food aids to the less privileged members of our community, as part of our ongoing social initiatives.

As part of this collaboration, Creamier will sponsor the space and utilities necessary to operate the vending machines. Through this initiative, the company’s founders hope to inspire other businesses and organisations to adopt similar initiatives or to work with other social enterprises.

Joining Hands with the Local Community

In celebration of Singapore’s 55th National Day, we decided to do something special and pay homage to our local crafters. In partnership with our favourite stall at Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre, Pure Soya Bean, we created our newest flavour, Tau Huay (beancurd).

Using only the freshest soya milk, beancurd and soya bean pulp, we created an ice cream that is not only organic and GMO-free, but also produces zero-waste! Served with a glass of refreshing grass jelly, we then presented our own inspired take on the well-loved Michael Jackson beverage: our Yin Yang Jelly Drink.

Productivity

In a world that is constantly changing and evolving, we recognize the importance of adapting and keeping up with rapidly-changing technology and trends to not only increase productivity, but also to stay competitive.

We do this by digitizing most of our processes, keeping operations lean, and using sophisticated tools to analyze data and discover insights to improve management decision making. Moving forward, we plan to explore outsourcing and automating more time-consuming processes to further streamline our production and operations and to improve cost e ciency. Following which, we will divert our focus on creating an integrated and holistic ERP system across our main production kitchen and each of our respective business units.

Cloud Technology

Digitization would hardly be achievable without the use of cloud. Cloud technology has revolutionized our lives and the way we work, bringing with it a huge array of benefits.

Not only does it allow for remote access anywhere and at any time, it also provides significant time and cost savings by going paperless. This makes the implementation of telecommuting much easier, as we have just experienced during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Going paperless also aligns with our principle of operating in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. To date, we have adopted the use of cloud technology in every aspect of our business, from accounting to orders processing, and even in manpower management and inventory management.

Productivity (Corporate)

We use a variety of cloud-based softwares and platforms to meet our corporate reporting and administrative needs.

Xero is a cloud-based accounting software that we adopted for bookkeeping, invoicing and purchasing purposes. Square, a cloud-based POS system, gives us flexibility to monitor real-time performance and make menu changes remotely.

Payboy is a cloud-based payroll system which at the same time allows employees to apply for leaves and make claims anywhere and at any time. We have also shifted most of our data storage, internal and management reporting, as well as data analytics and dashboards onto Google cloud, which greatly reduces the need for unnecessary paperwork, face to face reporting and management meetings.

Productivity (Operations & Production)

It is important to continuously invest into improving the productivity or e ciency of our production and operations because more often than not, these investments directly translate into profitability.

Our performance and growth are regularly monitored and reviewed to evaluate the need to increase production capacity, whether through equipment upgrades or manpower expansion. On top of that, we are always on the lookout for ways to keep operations and processes as lean as possible. Deputy is a cloud-based scheduling platform that has greatly eased our load in manpower management across all our stores. Elitech is an app that monitors the temperature of all our freezers and chillers remotely, which is critical to reducing wastage especially for a business that deals with temperature sensitive products like ice cream. We have also created our own apps using Appsheet, such as an app for the real-time monitoring and management of the inventory levels in our warehouse.

Art Exhibitions

Creamier has always been very supportive of the local art & design scene, hosting 5 exhibitions over a period of 9 years since we opened. We strongly believe in bringing art closer to the community.

Collaboration ( 2012 ) Creamier Toa Payoh Creamier + Degree°

The first exhibition that started it all. A collaboration with Degree°, a creative arm of advertising agency DDB Asia. We wanted to showcase the works of local creatives, making art & design accessible to the community. Customers can also make purchase of the works directly at creamier.

PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATIONS

Art Exhibitions

Our second exhibition involved brother & sister duo Renn (10) & Aira (7), both budding artist taking inspiration from their love of music played from vinyls. The artworks were a compilation of music and artist they adore & their interpretations of them.

Our Heart Lands ( 2015 ) Creamier Toa Payoh Creamier + Urban Sketchers Singapore

Perhaps one of our most personal project was involving Urban Ske tchers Singapore.

More than 50 participants spent half a day on a sketch walk around our neighbourhood Toa Payoh with the last stop at creamier. A total of 25 artworks were then selected to adjorn our walls for a our third exhibition, aptly named Our Heart Lands.

Moments of Happiness ( 2017 ) Creamier Toa Payoh Creamier + OIC / Organisation of Illustrators Council

When we started working on our 4th exhibition at Toa Payoh, we didn’t expect that this was going to be the final exhibition at our original location. Moments of Happiness was perhaps the most fitting liner used to describe our last 9 years at our original location. And this exhibition with our friends at the Organisation of Illustrators Council is just about that; the moments, the ones that count.

Butterflies of Singapore ( 2020 ) Creamier Tiong Bahru Creamier + Ronggy

Creamier collaborated with Singapore-based watercolour artist, Ronggy, featuring her collection of local butterflies, painted with a playful twist on 18th century naturalist illustrations.

“2020 has been a challenging year, rife with fear and uncertainty, but it has also brought the opportunity for personal growth, realignment of priorities and new perspectives. Like our winged friends, take time to smell the flowers and enjoy your existence. Be kind to others, and especially to yourself.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Moments of Happiness

We opened the doors of our first outlet back in 2011 in the heartland of Toa Payoh Lorong 1. Right from the beginning, our goal is to create a space where people from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, class, nationality, are welcomed to take a little respite from every day’s busyness and enjoy an a ordable and delicious well-made ice cream and co ee.

Giving back has always been an important part of our company’s DNA. Using our ice cream as a means to spread happiness & also help raise funds for many charitable and non-profit organisations.

We put in a lot of care into creating our own recipes, sourcing for natural ingredients, working with local communities and producing good quality ice creams, wa es and beverages. Because most importantly, Creamier represents happiness. It is a space where many happy and memorable moments between people and their loved ones are created. This philosophy continues to be the cornerstone of how we run our businesswith a lot of heart, care, accountability and integrity.
