Remind of your day

Design challenge: People incline to forget something in morning ritual due to the limited and rush time. Design concept: Plan what to do on APP and connect it to electronic mirror. When people tidy up appearance in front of mirror, the electronic mirror presents what to take before leaving home. The Delft Design Approach Wenying Chang 2017

I want forgetful man to take everything they need and remember what to do in morning ritual because keep everything in mind is stressful after getting out of bed, additionally, their moodwould be influenced by their forgetness.

Incoperate application with electronic mirror to plan schedule and remind what to do in morning ritual. Only when people get close to MIRO, it will detect and show your plan on screen. There is a forecast service to suggest you bring an umbrella in rainy days or a mask in smoky day.

Making category of objects for people to choose and using icons to present items. If provided icons cannot satisfied the needs, adding notes by typing is another mean to plan schedule. Through pressing the flashing big button, schedule will be delivered to electronic mirror.

S- Space Create a stretching space for those who have physically uncomfortableness. Especially sitting for long time, it will cause sour and pain on shoulder, neck, back as well as waist.

In order to realize the current space in campus cannot satisfy the need of students and staffs in campus, we adapted design approaches to find out their needs. First, taking ‘’ A Day in Life’’ to realize what and how they do in campus.

Simultaneously, observing their activities in campus, taking a break, discussing studies, exercise and so on. Preparing interview by brainstorimg quetions which enclosed to three main topics: exercise, discuss and having meals.

After interviewing, we shared the stories and synthesized datas by empathy maps. Through setting up empathy maps, we found out needs and tensions. We used ‘’point of view’’ to dig insights.

Insight

He would like to stretch his body as he sat for long time and kept intensely focusing on class. He needed to release stress and relax by stretching body. He went to top of building as he wanted to stay alone and feel free to stretch his body. However, there is no adequate equipment to assist him for more or further stretch.

Develpoing Element

We took circular electricity, interaction, sensual experience and entertainment as developing element. It was impermitive to integrate these four key elements on developing micro playground.

The topic of product design workshop was Off the Grid which explored the ways to become independent, handle power supply self-sufficiently and live off the grid as easy, sustainable and smart as possible. It was about sharing the solutions, so that everyone can benefit from our experience.

Recently, the need of coffee has rosen steeply. The coffee grounds we make on the earth per year could build up 20000 TAIPEI 101. The proportion of recycling coffee grounds accounts below 10%. It’s quite lower than other items. However, if these were sent to landfill fields or incinerators, the process would product harmful gases like carbon dioxide and methane.

Actually, there are many ways to reuse coffee grounds. It’s usually use as dehumidifier or deodorant in our daliy life. In order to give a new life for coffee grounds, I hold two workshops to share how to reuse them.

Portable Kidchen Enjoy cooking in your camp

kidchen

When we go camping, the clean water and table are not easily available. It has potential danger for children to be sick without washing their hands, if they touched food directly. In addition, cutting vegetables or meat on uneven ground is quite hard for kids. Moreover, children do not know some basic knowledge on cooking.

hanging three filters on holder

I participated in a club about taking care of children in Tsing Hua University. We hold winter and summer camping twice a year. It quite hard for kids whose are aged between 8 and 12 to cook well by themselves. Especially, cleaning vegetables and rice as well as cutting food into pieces. Therefore, I’d like to design kitchen gadgets for them to learn basic knowledge on cooking. HAVE A DELICIOUS MEAL !

Architecture

In the final program, I won the championship and doughnuts as awards. My idea came from Gherkin - sustainable architecture. My project is to construct a ocean museum near the beach. Therefore, I must take the ocean wind into consideration. This shape could reduce the strength of wind and guide away the wind.

We had individually reconstruction program in Gray Inn’s garden. I made collage at first by magazines and newspapper to imagine the space. Secondly, I sketched the building that I’d like to put in the garden. During this process, I had to observe the population, transpotation, local culture and weather there. Finally, I made a model to express my idea. It’s significant to do the research and find the solution. That is what I learned from this program.
