One of the many benefits of belonging to a nonprofit electric cooperative like Inland Power is that you are an owner. Each time you purchase power, you build equity or ownership in your energy cooperative. The amount of equity you earn is determined by net margins – the amount of revenue collected in excess of expenses for that year. These net margins are returned to you in the form of capital credit checks.
members just in time for the holidays!
In total, Inland Power has returned more than $32,000,000 in capital credits to our members so far. In the past we’ve had members inquire about how they could donate their capital credit refund back to Inland Power. While the choice is entirely up to you, Inland Power started an Operation Round Up program in 2013.
Cooperative ownership brings you value year after year and does have its privileges. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the years to come. We wish you a safe, healthy and joyous holiday season.

Test Your Smoke Alarms You can prevent possible tragedies simply by testing and maintaining your smoke alarms and practicing some safety tips: • Install smoke alarms inside and outside each bedroom and sleeping area. • Install alarms on every level of the home. • It is best to use interconnected alarms. • All smoke alarms in your house should be tested monthly and batteries replaced annually. • Every family should develop a fire escape plan and practice it at least twice a year. • Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old.

Positions open in District 4, District 7 and At-Large Position B Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 25, 2017, to attend Inland Power’s annual membership meeting. The meeting will be held at Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and the meeting starting at 9 a.m.
12 DAYS OF SAVINGS Day 1: “Gift” wrap hot water lines with pipe insulation.
You will be voting on the election of three trustees to the Board (District 4, District 7 and At-Large Position B) and listening to reports on cooperative business. Watch for a meeting notification and trustee ballot in your mail in mid-February.
Day 2: Even Rudolph has switched to LEDs (but his are red). Day 3: Deck the water heater with an insulating jacket. Day 4: Sorry Santa, but we really must close that damper when the fireplace isn’t in use. Day 5: A wise man (or woman) will follow the Energy Star when buying electronics.
As mentioned previously in this mailing; this year members will be able to vote electronically, by mail or in person at the annual meeting.
Day 6: Not a creature was stirring...with gadgets galore in most homes, unplug cell phone chargers and anything with a remote control when not in use. Day 7: O’ Christmas tree, O’ Christmas tree, how lovely are thy LEDs. Day 8: It’s OK to be a Grinch when it comes to the thermostat; 68° is ideal. Day 9: Make an energy savings list and check it twice.
Holiday Wishes The board of trustees and the employees of Inland Power wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season. In the spirit of the holidays, our office will be closed on:
Day 10: Don’t get on the naughty list...install those window shades as they are one of the simplest and most effective ways to save energy. Day 11: Add cellulose insulation to your attic...it sort of looks like snow. Day 12: While visions of clean air filters danced in their heads.
Merry savings to all!!!

ELECTRICITY REMAINS A GOOD VALUE Nowadays, cell phones and personal digital devices are a part of our culture. Everyone, it seems, is connected on the go—whether they’re just making phone calls, text messaging, or checking email. Such communication freedom is a luxury we pay for, generally without grumbling. So why is it that when it comes to electricity—a necessity in our modern world—many of us complain when the electric bill comes every month? We expect electricity to be there at the flip of the switch, and when it’s not, we get angry or frustrated. • In today’s world, you won’t find many 10110 W HALLETT ROAD

items that cost less than $5. You can purchase a gallon of milk, a gallon of gas or a Big Mac® meal from McDonald’s. But did you know that an average day’s worth of electricity costs less than $5? • Over the past ten years, gasoline has shot up 12.66 percent, loaf of white bread rose 4.2 annually and a dozen eggs jumped 6.5 percent per year. In comparison, electricity has increased just 3.7 percent in the same time frame. Electricity is a great bargain and Inland Power is committed to making sure that you and your family always have safe, reliable and affordable electric service in your home.
