Ensure you are in contact with certified installers. Verify that your solar installer is licensed and certified by a reputable organization and comes with positive recommendations. Additionally, always
obtain at least two bids for comparison, and take the time to research and investigate.
Don’t succumb to aggressive sales tactics. If solar seems like a good fit for you, conduct your research before signing any contracts. High-pressure sales methods are often a red flag for scams. Make sure all your questions are addressed before proceeding.
Familiarize yourself with financing options. Ensure that your return on investment (ROI) is reasonable. The federal government and Inland Power do not offer programs for free solar panel installations, and payback periods might be longer than anticipated. While there are legitimate programs available, it’s crucial to research and thoroughly vet them before moving ahead.
Investigate if there are any available tax credits for installing a solar system. If you choose to purchase a solar energy system, you might qualify for a tax credit.
