Entry Requirements You would need a minimum of eight GCSE passes at grade 9 - 6 including, for external applicants only, grade 7 - 9 in Mathematics and in English Literature or Language. In addition, students must achieve a grade 7 - 9 for the subjects they wish to study at A-level. Any offer made will be conditional on achieving these results. In order to access the Mathematics A-level course automatically, grade 8 - 9 at GCSE Mathematics is required. In order to access the English Literature and/or English Language A-level courses automatically, grades 7 – 9 in both English Literature and English Language at GCSE are required. In order to gain automatic entrance onto Science A-level courses, candidates should gain a grade 8 - 9 in the relevant GCSE. If a candidate gains a grade 7, this does not preclude them from studying the course but a further conversation with SLT will be required. Due to the written content in Biology, a grade 7 in either English GCSE is necessary. If Combined Science is being studied, candidates are expected to gain at least grade 8s.
