Unique Ways to Move Product

Last year to get rid of things I’ve had since open I did a $10 sale on all items not moving. It was a HUGE hit, and got things out the door that were sitting there.

Have you tried Instagram story sale? I don’t have a huge following but I was able to get a ton of stuff sold. Also maybe try doing a local pop-up? I have a rack up for 25% off, if stuff that I try to get rid of - foxy luxe

With Love Molly, Wholesale started at age 16 in a hot pink bedroom with white glitter stars all over the walls and purple strings of shiny beads dangling from the closet. Owner & founder, Molly Trumpler, used to cut up her old clothes in her bedroom after school, patch them together, make new designs, and wear them proudly… no matter how goofy or ill fitted they may have been. She strutted her stuff in one of her cringe-worthy custom outfits during her college tour of The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. And yes, her friends who tagged along for moral support were wearing her fits too! She was in the zone, and no one could kill her vibe.

Except for her year two internship. THAT could definitely kill her vibe. Or at least change the trajectory of where she thought she was going with her career. Ever seen the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”? Imagine something like that (but without the cute guys fighting over her). The one day that stuck out most to her was when she found herself lost in Manhattan. Sitting on a random curb on a random street, ugly crying next to two fifty pound bags of the wrong color rocks and the wrong kinds of flowers (because the kind her boss insisted on weren’t in season), she thought about the other intern she was working with. The one who was a princess (yes, literally from a foreign royal family). The one who could do no wrong, no matter how little she tried or how little she knew. The one who was dressed in Versace from head-to-toe every day. The one who got invited to the parties and was provided an endless amount of career possibilities while Molly was carrying rocks.

It was this day that Molly vowed to herself that when she finally made it into the fashion industry on her own, she would make the glamour of highend fashion accessible to everybody. And that’s exactly what she did and exactly what WLM stands for. She took her own personal style from the city vibes she grew up with and combined that with her girly, bubbly, pink-loving personality and started designing women’s clothing that would help bridge the gap between luxury quality and fast fashion. Unique designs that aren’t in every store shouldn’t be unobtainable, and it’s Molly’s mission to help owners stand out from the crowd without having to sacrifice quality or profits. Her ultimate goal is for her retail partners and their customers to feel that everything her company does is with love. She believes all owners can and should provide their customers with a gorgeous and exciting fashion experience no matter how little or big their stores are! As WLM Wholesale closes out their first year in business completely debt free and projected to do almost a million in sales next year, Molly reminisces on not only that day but also the many years of hardship it took to get here. We’re often bombarded with overnight successes, but we must always remember that while that does happen… it’s not realistic. Her story was and is much different, and today she’s here to not only provide fabulous items for boutiques around the globe but also to inspire others to never lose sight of their dreams.

Tips for Market

Wear really comfortable shoes! Come with a plan. Make a list of “must see” vendors and get them seen first. The last time that went, we had FAVES pro app on our phones. It was a huge help. Kept us organized of what we ordered and ship dates.

If you've never gone, take a look at vendor lists before you go! Do your research and look at some vendors you want to check out while you are there! The days go really fast, and you want to make sure you see touch and feel everything you want while you're there!

If you know which vendors you’d like to purchase from, look them up before hand and see their booth numbers so you have an idea of where you need to go

- Print out your business name, shipping address, tax ID, email, and telephone number on address labels and print them out so that you can just stick them to the order so that you do not have to write it down each time if they allow it, take pictures of the items that you are purchasing because a lot of vendors have very similar items and you don’t want to buy identical pieces

I would say make sure you are well rested! As fun as it can be it is also a lot of work! Market is energizing and exciting but make sure you aren’t rushing and are also loving what you will be putting in your shop. Also huge for me.. you may need to take a mental break and that is okay! Go outside, grab a coffee etc. If it’s your first time you will def need your Tax ID and drivers license! That’s all I have!
