Dear francophone and francophile friends,
La Francophonie is represented by an institution, the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF). It is composed of 88 States and governments, members or observers.
At the last OIF summit held in November 2018 in Yerevan Armenia, The Rwandese Representative, Mrs Louise MUSHIKIWABO was appointed Secretary General.
La Francophonie also encompasses women and men who share a common language, French. About 300 million speakers are spread across five continents, 55% of them in Africa.
To celebrate the International Day of Francophonie in Nigeria, March 20, many embassies unite to propose a rich and varied program from March 18 to 23 at the Institut français du Nigéria. Film screenings, concerts as well as activities around the French language will be proposed.
