Suggestions Box from Students What suggestions would you give the teacher? I wanted to have the students write out any observations they could to enhance the class. So I encouraged them to feel free to be honest about things they thought could've been added to the class. So I got a diverse number of opinions, which is exactly what I wanted. Some students thought they'd enjoy poetry and would've loved to have seen it being used with music. Some suggested we should use more music in class to make it more entertaining and help them as they work on exercises. One student liked working in groups and encouraged me to do it more often. Another student was probably hungry and suggested we eat Pizza. There were some that wanted to have more games that would enhance the class dynamic and make learning easier. Another student acknowledged how challenging this group must've been for me and thought I did a pretty good job considering this. A number of students enjoyed the times we had to draw and color and would've liked to see it more. PowerPoint was engaging for one or two students and therefore they thought most classes (if not all) should work with PowerPoint. What did you enjoy about the class experience? Being able to express ourselves quite freely during the whole semester was something some of them enjoyed. Another was very thankful for being able to express his feelings without being afraid to, as it wasn't something normal in other settings. Many of the students really enjoyed the times we incorporated drawing and painting to the classroom experience. A number of the students wanted to thank me for doing dynamic classes that were fun and entertaining to be in. One student appreciated the time we took to work on writing as he/she enjoys it very much. You're much fun to have as a teachersaid one student. The activities that we did were always about positive things and I really enjoyed thatwas the opinion of one of my students. A good number of them were in favor of doing a lot of drawing and hands-on type of work and you could tell every time there was such an activity. What didn't you like about class? This part wasn't very productive. Many of them simply wrote they enjoyed everything. I have no doubt believing that they might've been afraid to have been very honest about this. We are usually taught to lie about stuff like this. There was one student that wrote he/she didn't like the teacher, but I don't know if it was a joke. One seemed pretty honest in writing that he didn't like “cuando lo regaĂąabanâ€?. Many others wrote that they didn't know. One other student wrote he hated the heat, because the fans weren't working. Not directly related with me, but he/she did manage to express him/herself. So, as mentioned this part of the survey wasn't exactly very productive. It stayed rather shallow, but I had to include it in for the sake of assignment completion.
