WHAT IS MULTICANCER EARLY DETECTION SCREENING? It’s a test to detect more than 50 different types of cancer through a simple blood draw.
Why Consider Screening? More than 2/3 of cancer deaths
are caused by cancers not commonly screened for.
Early cancer detection screening increases your chances of catching cancer when it is easier to treat.
Is Multicancer Early Detection Screening Available to Me? One blood-based screening test is now commercially available. Though not yet FDA-approved, the test is available by prescription and must be ordered by your health care provider.
The test may be appropriate for adults aged 50 years and older who have an elevated risk of cancer. If you and your health care provider decide multicancer screening is appropriate for you, he/she can order the test and you can schedule your blood draw. Currently, the test is not covered by most insurance, but you may be able to use pretax dollars in your health savings account (HSA) or flexible savings account (FSA) to pay for the test.

ARE CAUSED BY CANCERS NOT SCREENED FOR. Does This Test Replace Other Screenings?
