Geoffrey C. Wall, PharmD, is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences of the College of Pharmacy at Drake University, and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical practices include the Internal Medicine and Medical Intensive Care Teaching Services at Iowa Methodist Medical Center as well as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center in Des Moines. Dr. Wall received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1992 and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1998. He completed an American Society of HealthSystem Pharmacists (ASHP)–accredited Internal Medicine Specialty Residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospitals and Clinics in 1999. A certified Geriatric Pharmacist board-certified in Pharmacotherapy, he is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Wall has written peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters on a variety of topics, and has designed or participated in several clinical trials. His research interests include drug treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and clinical evaluation of drug allergy and rheumatologic disorders.

Jeffrey M. Weinberg, MD, is an associate clinical professor of dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. In addition, he is director of the Clinical Research Center at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and acting director of the Division of Dermatology at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, both in New York City. Dr. Weinberg graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed an internship in medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He then completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Weinberg is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, where he has served on several committees, and a member of the Dermatology Foundation. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Weinberg is on the editorial board and is a senior editor of Cutis. He is on the international editorial board of the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology and the manuscript review board of Hospital Physician, and is a reviewer of Archives of Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, and the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology. His clinical research encompasses a variety of dermatology-related topics, including studies of diagnostic methods in the evaluation of onychomycosis. He has been principal or co-investigator for several clinical trials. In addition, he has written or co-authored numerous articles for professional journals such as Cutis, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Blood, as well as reviews, book chapters, and abstracts.

Overview Appropriate consultations with dermatologists and patients allow specialty pharmacists to play central roles in shaping psoriasis therapy, particularly around issues of medical management, patient adherence to treatment plans, and monitoring strategies to examine disease evolution and therapeutic responses. This session will address disease pathophysiology, evidence-based guideline recommendations for moderate-to-severe psoriasis, and emerging biologic treatment options. Expert faculty will share their insights into personalized therapy, patient education, and practical care pathways.
Target Audience This activity is intended for specialty pharmacists involved in the management of patients with psoriasis.
