Meet Peter Brandinger, Vice President, Business Development, Grand Rapids Office Leader, Configura Peter Brandinger has more than 20 years’ experience in the computer industry. Employed with Configura since 2001, Peter’s mission is to lead and develop Configura’s U.S. subsidiary, Configura, Inc. In 2005, Peter moved with his family from Sweden to the United States to start the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based office. Today, the U.S. operation employs 19 and has collaborations with leading manufacturers. Peter’s career started with one of the largest Apple resellers in Sweden where he was the support manager. He worked there for nine years, managing and developing the service and support department into one of the most successful Apple support centers in Europe. Peter also worked for Connova Systems AB in an account management role where he served on the international sales team. Peter studied in the field of technology. He also enjoyed a successful water-skiing career where he earned titles of Scandinavian and Swedish champion. Peter qualified on the Swedish National Water-ski team for five consecutive years and was awarded World Championship appearances three times. This year, he competed in the USA Water Ski Nationals in the Men’s 4 Division, placing 20th in the country. He is ranked 4th in Michigan and hopes to compete for Sweden in the 2012 World Championship in the United States. Peter resides in Ada, Mich., with his wife and their two sons. “I love being part of the Configura team and how what we do actually makes a difference. Our goal is to solve the problem of selling complex products. Simplify is the name of the game and the ‘comfort zone’ is our ‘enemy’ – we don’t rest until we get things right. I love that we have a close relationship with our manufacturer clients and our users – we’re all collaborators, working together, to change our industry for the better.”

What makes Photo Lab so special? Photo Lab in CET Designer replaces the Photo Photo Lab is a built-in tool for creating photorealistic renderings in CET Designer®: • Creates high-quality renderings with natural light and shading • Renders multiple images at once • Enables immediate post-rendering processing and post-rendering changes without the need to re-render • Automatically updates changes made by the user in the rendering to ensure accuracy

Series, working seamlessly within CET Designer. The rendering function occurs in the background and does not interrupt work. Photo Lab uses high-dynamic range imaging (HDR), which allows a greater range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than many standard digital-imaging techniques. This range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in real scenes. Photo Lab is fully synchronized with paper view to make printing as easy and straight-forward as possible.

October’s Featured Tips Photo Lab Glossary of Terms: Color Used to slightly adjust the colors in a finished rendering and make them softer or more intense. Sliders can be used for Exposure, Brightness, Contrast and Saturation to create the desired effects in a rendered image. When the sliders are moved, the rendered image is immediately updated to show a preview of the new settings.

Focus / blur Used to add a focus or blur effect to a photo or to highlight certain parts of the image.

Vignette Used to draw interest to the center, as it frames the center portion of the image and fades out towards the edges. Changing the values for Amount, Scale, Roundness and Feather all contribute to how the vignette effect should appear in the photo.

Noise Used to add a grainy or pixelated effect to a photo. This effect can make the image look like an old photograph.

Crop Used to crop a rendered image to a different size within Photo Lab without having to leave Photo Lab in CET Designer.
