MOE HEZWANI
The biggest lie I tell myself is... “I don’t need to write that down, I’ll remember it.”
DISTORTED
FASHION 5
I created these experimental images to distort the idea of fashion. To see how these beautiful editorials from a magazine would articulate once they have been misshapen. If the message they were trying to communicate within their magazines would still represent the same meaning.
POLYMER
ETCHING
One aspect of photopolymer printing I found most interesting is the range of images that can be produced; photographs, drawings, digital images, collage and photocopies, these materials can be used to create interesting images using the plates.

PRETTY LITTLE
LINES 9
A selection of illustrations I had created. I illustrated these images with a fine liner and water paints. Illustrating pretty pictures is something I like to do in my spare time. Sometimes they can come extremely useful with certain design briefs.
SHOE BOOK
With the theme of exploring an origin, I chose to explore shoes. Starting at 400BC I researched through time looking at different styles of shoes. It was really interesting to see how they’ve developed and transformed yet a lot of the styles have come back into fashion.

CALL LONDON
I decided to produce a set of greeting cards based around London’s well-known architecture and objects: the phone box, London Bridge, Big Ben and the underground sign. I chose to illustrate them as I found it would be an interesting way to celebrate London 2012 Olympics.

WHAT WAS
SAID
I create a selection of hand rendered type to best express what each statement meant. Looking at the type, as shapes to work with not necessarily text or fonts. I decided to hand render the statements, as hand drawn typography reminds me of a personalised letterform.

The brief was to create a direct mail piece aimed at recent graduates. This was to create a hook to entice graduates to apply for the graduate program. We set about this brief by creating a series of typographic illustrations in a natural theme. We wanted to show the idea of ‘growth’ within their lives and the company.

JUST AN OBSESSION
A public commentary that celebrates shopping in all aspects. Portraying the good, the bad and the ugly of shopping. It touches upon: retail, online, seduction, fashion, addiction and the economy. That reflects questions like: what is shopping? What are the effects of shopping? And how does it affect our economy? Evidently, an analysis of shopping it all its glory.

Are your purchases usually
I’ll go through every page on a website like Topshop and All Saints. In addition, looking at fashion blogs and if something catches my eye I would order it. The rest of the time I just pick stuff up that I like from work (River Island) when it comes in.
planned or spontaneous?
Spontaneous, out of boredom and routine.
Does sales or special offers encourage you to shop at that store?
How often do you purchase a new item of clothing and/or accessory?
It depends what the offer is, free delivery encourages me a lot. Also, things like 3 for £10 or £5 each. General end of season sales don’t really encourage me.
I’d say around 2-5 times a month.
On average, how much would you Do you follow Fashion trends? usually spend per month on clothing and/or accessories? I think everyone does if they are buying from
“I didn’t buy that much stuff online because I like to try the garments on first.” £121-£150. It varies from month to month, but that is usually the amount.
high street because everything trickles down from catwalk-designers-forecasters. High Street Stores manufacture cheaper versions of the garments we see on the catwalk. I guess it’s how you wear it that matters and how you make it personal. Unless you’re buying from charity shops, which I don’t; not because I don’t want to but because I don’t have the time to sift through old peoples clothes in a town where every student is obsessed with charity shops and grabs all the good things quickly.
Roughly, what is the percentage of clothing and/or accessory purchases that you have brought online? I would say around 51% to 70%, since the last 6 months of having a job. However, before I had a job and had the time I would actually go out to shop; I didn’t buy that much stuff online because I like to try the garments on first.

The main advantage of buying online is the fasted past, easy benefit it provides. These days we don’t even have to go to the bank to pay our bills, it is all done at home and I’m telling you; the day I got online banking was the day my life just got slightly better (it is that dramatic). The Internet is a magical and wonderful tool and I don’t remember life without it.

I asked my surveyors what exactly do they buy online; more people said that they use the Internet to buy clothes and accessories (twenty-two per cent) than to buy books and magazines, however not that much more (nineteen per cent). Another popular category is tickets, this relates to gig, concert,
or event tickets. Unless you want to travel to the venue where the performance is held and if you live miles away from said venue, websites like seeticket.com or ticketmaster. com are a much easier alternative; wouldn’t you agree?
What do you use online shopping for?
Debenhams
These days we can buy basically anything online, from books, to airline tickets, to car insurance, anything accessible. For this reason online shopping has become extremely popular. Sixty percent buy online up to three times a month, while 40% buy at least once a week, according to mode digital (Mode Digital, 2012).

Ebay is slowly making me become a hoarder; I buy some much useless crap I don’t really need. But at the time, I really need them. On the plus side, I’m a very popular seller.
I follow them in the sense I know what they are, I don’t initially follow them but it’s hard not to.

Experience: March 2010 – Two week internship. This is Real Art. Intern: Throughout my time at ‘This is Real Art’ I learnt the fundamental criteria that involved working in a design studio. These criteria’s included discovering the processes of receiving and undergoing a brief; understanding and observing the steps a designer within a studio based atmosphere completes a brief; as well as having the opportunity to work on projects, alongside the team, experiencing what it entails to be a designer first hand. Furthermore, this internship enabled me to improve on my ability to work under time constraints and deadlines, whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
