The British Council accreditation is the quality assurance scheme for the UK English language teaching sector. Accreditation provides students with a guarantee of choice and quality. To obtain accreditation, schools must comply with the strict regulations laid down by the British Council with respect to management, teacher qualifications, school facilities, health and safety, teaching quality, ­administration, student services, accommodation, publicity materials and welfare. Enjoyable lessons – effective learning We aim to maximise your learning by taking a varied approach to your education which is done in the following way: Our lessons are based around a course book with weekly testing, negotiated learning and regular tutorials. This provides a balanced focus of all four skills (speaking, reading, writing, and listening) and allows us to measure your progress over each term. We also take into account multiple learning styles, through the use of different materials. All students are assessed regularly and given the opportunity to feedback to their teacher regarding their progress and specific areas which need improvement. Our teachers are carefully selected to ensure they have the skills necessary to deliver interesting lessons for all levels. Teachers are encouraged to use modern texts and up to date delivery methods to keep students engaged.

What will I achieve? Guaranteed entry to university in the UK, subject to passing the programme, or access to a degree place in the USA or Canada.

The Course Language support: All students will complete a course in English for Academic P­ urposes and take further IELTS tests. The required level that needs to be achieved will depend on your initial level of English, and the level required for your chosen degree programme. Advanced English speakers will be assigned higher level report and research exercises to develop more advanced skills. Preparation for University: The Research and Study Skills component is an essential ­preparation for university, and will help you collaborate in groups, present ideas, ­manage your time, conduct research, make lecture notes, organise the content of ­essays and understand how to evaluate your own work. UCAS (the UK central university undergraduate application system) applications: ­Students are free to make a UCAS choice if they prefer, as well as to TRC endorsing ­universities. We will assist students with application to all degree courses and ­universities as required worldwide. Assessment and support: Progress is monitored by continuous assessment of coursework and by class tests. The final grade for each unit is based on a combination of coursework and end-of-course examinations. Successful students will achieve grades A=71+%; B=61-70%; C=56-60%; D=51-55%; E=41-50%; U=0-40% for each of the units.

Teaching and learning styles: Throughout the Pre-Med Foundation Programme, all the academic subject modules will be taught using seminars, tutorials and other methods that mirror the style of teaching that you will encounter at university

+ Kursk State Medical University Faculty of International Students has trained more than 1,000 Doctors of Medicine, Dentists and Pharmacists since 1991, who are now working in clinics around the world, having gone on to pass the national professional examination to practice, as is the norm, in the country of their choice, e.g. the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, UAE.

Accommodation - British style You have the option to choose between four types of accommodation Homestay Do you want to get to know English culture and experience the day-to-day routine of a British family? Then staying in homestay is the perfect option for you! You may stay in a single or twin room with one of our friendly homestay families, most of whom have been welcoming students for many years. Some live close to the school while others are a short walk or a bus-ride away. You‘ll get half-board accommodation with breakfast and dinner. At the weekend, you will also be provided with a (packed) lunch in your private home. We invite you to have lunch in our comfortable bistro from Monday to Friday. Home stay is available all year round.

Self-catering hotel accommodation can accommodate up to 32 students. This option consists of single rooms which all have en-suite bath/shower room facilities, television and internet connections. There is a shared fully equipped kitchen and a large lounge plus an ironing room with iron and ironing board. We would love to welcome you for our delicious lunch in our comfortable bistro. The hotel is 30Â minute walk from the school.

You have the option to stay in a hotel, which is situated close to our school (approximately 10 minutes’ walk) and the town centre. The beach is very close to the hotel. Each bedroom has a private shower, toilet and washbasin. Breakfast is included in the price. We would love to welcome you for our delicious lunch in our comfortable bistro. The reservation prices for the hotel can vary from day to day. Please ask for a quote.

If you prefer to be around people of your own age, you can also stay in a single en-suite bedroom in a student residence with self-catering in the centre of Bournemouth. Live and socialise with students from many different countries. Purbeck House offers self-contained flats of 5-6 single-study bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private shower, toilet and washbasin and there is a common room, including a kitchen, in each flat. You are offered breakfast, lunch and dinner in our comfortable bistro. This accommodation is available during summer.

Bournemouth – the place to be! This vibrant, young and cosmopolitan town, with a population of around 163,000 people, is famous for miles of sandy beaches and the pleasantly mild climate. The countryside is characterised by beautiful coastal walks as well as the picturesque New Forest. The town itself has award-winning gardens that are superb all year round and it is the location for lots of events during the year. Only 2 hours away from London, you are close to Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. Coaches and trains run several times every hour to and from London.

For sport lovers, Bournemouth is just the right place. There are plenty of places where you can enjoy different sports, such as the beach, where you can practice windsurfing, kite surfing or beach volleyball. Several golf courses are in the area and you can go horse riding, kayaking or canoeing in the New Forest. Many students love to go out and enjoy the great nightlife. For those who love to go shopping there is a diverse choice of shops.
