" ETHIC CHANGE "
Welcome to Force One issue #34.
Autumn... it's time to change everything: your yacht, the car, your wife's tiara, the interior design or your home, or even the painting on the wall ! Really, in this issue we do not miss anything.
But there are good news: finally in the world of luxury the wind of respect for the environment and ethical commitment is blowing strongly, and this time it seems unstoppable.
So let's visit the most important event in the world dedicated to mega yachts. The Monaco Yacht Show Monaco confirms that the Principality is truly the World Capital of Yachting, and it does so by enhancing the values of sustainability thanks to a hub dedicated to projects and solutions that make yachting increasingly respectful of the environment. We also retrace the history of Sunreef, today the leader in the construction of catamarans that make the most of solar and wind energy.
But as we said, we do not miss anything: on four wheels we have tried for you the new Bentley Flying Spur hybrid, we talk about high jewelery which certifies not only the origin of the stones, but also the ethics of manufacturing and, of course, the most awaited pages ... shopping (!) that includes extra luxury garments made from recycled material...
And then art, literature, culture, events and ... the new Force One office!
Once again, everything is there.

The temptation of lost paradise...
IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN…
by Alice GardnerMonaco Yacht Show 2022: it’s Superyacht Christmas, and the excitement around Monaco’s legendary Port Hercule is rising.
Over one hundred of the world’s greatest yachts will be showcased, offering prospective owners and enthusiasts alike the opportunity to get on board these exclusive vessels.
Running from September 28th to October 1st, MYS 2022 has, according to its organisers, continued with its “seducation” approach, as featured last year. These two core concepts – education and seduction (see what they did there?) – has been designed as part of a three-year plan to attract a new generation of superyacht owners.
Themed exhibition areas have been meticulously mapped across the port to allow prospective customers to discover and meet industry experts, with a revamped Dockside Area, Sailing Yacht Area, and the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub.
The Dockside Area will feature the stars of the show, along with the tenders and other superyacht service suppliers, including shipyards, brokers, and designers, while the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub proving so popular last year that it has tripled in size - including a 100sqm upstairs conference area.
The Sailing Yacht Area will this year move to the inner side of Port Hercule at Quai l’Hirondelle, featuring 4 new launches: the 27.7m ClubSwan 80 and 31.05m Swan 98 from Finnish builder Nautor’s Swan, the 34.59m Sorvind from Southern Wind, and the 24m eco-friendly sailing catamaran, the Sunreef 80 Eco.
But this year also sees the launch of two new areas: The Adventure Area, and the Sustainability Hub. Doing exactly what it says, the Adventure Area is dedicated to all things exploration, including sports tenders, luxury off-road vehicles, water toys, helicopters, and travel experts to help you explore the planet’s remotest locations. The Adventure Area replaces the Car Deck and Tenders & Toys exhibition on Quai Antoine Ier, with
a second area featuring luxury tenders at Quai Jarlan. If driving to the North Pole on your luxury all-terrain vehicle while your yacht waits for your return leaves you feeling a little… smuguilty (I can portmanteau too, MYS!), then a visit to the new Sustainability Hub is a must. An incubator for eco-friendly solutions, as well as startups working towards sustainable alternatives, the Sustainability Hub plays a huge role in Monaco Yacht Show’s eco-friendly approach, first initiated in 2005 to raise awareness on environmental issues within the Monegasque and international yachting community. The area will be located in Darse Sud, the tent dedicated to nautical equipment and technology.
MYS 2022 has also announced its collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation in order to select the companies that are eligible for the Sustainability Hub.
Other themed exhibitions include:
• Parvis Piscine: yacht interior design and decoration;
• Upper Deck Lounge: luxury products and services;
• Quai Antoine Ier: tenders, toys, cars and motorbikes;
• Darse Sud tent: equipment and yachting services;
• Quai Albert Ier tent: yacht-related equipment, maintenance and service.
The Monaco Yacht Summit also returns with its 6th edition, held on Tuesday 27th September at Monaco Yacht Club. Strictly reserved for a pre-invited list of prospective and current owners, the summit allows this exclusive group access to a panel of renowned industry experts, including brokers, designers, builders and financial advisors.
And as if that isn’t enough s-education for you, the Sapphire Experience also makes a welcome return, offering concierge services to those who wish for a more personalised, and private, experience.
This year there’s also an added layer of luxury, with the announcement of a new a multi-year partnership with watchmaker Richard Mille. The ultra-luxury of Richard Mille watches perfectly aligns with MYS 2022’s plans to draw in a younger clientele, while also perfectly fitting in with the sporting philosophy of Monaco as a whole.

20 YEARS OF SUNREEF CATAMARAN PIONEERS
by Andrea DiniGdańsk: an important shipbuilding and trading port since the Middle Ages, and principal seaport of Poland, located north of the country on the Baltic coast. Also, the birthplace of Sunreef Yachts.
It was here, 20 years ago in an old manufacturing hall by the historic docks of Gdańsk shipyard, that the world’s first ocean-going luxury flybridge catamaran – the Sunreef 74 CHE – was launched.
Founded by French businessman-turned-sailing enthusiast, Francis Lapp took his passion and creativity and poured it into taking the simple catamaran, and turning it into an icon of luxury, sustainability, and innovation.
Here, we take a look back at some of Sunreef’s most significant moments of the past two decades
“Nothing was easy. The beginnings were humble. When I started building my first yacht, nobody believed a multihull could become a luxury craft. I’ve been told a thousand times that my vision would not last. Today, Sunreef Yachts is leading the way in the catamaran world, on a constant quest to make multihulls beautiful, innovative and sustainable. The story continues and we have more than one chapter to tell…”
Francis Lapp - Founder & CEO2002 IN THE BEGINNING…
Twenty years ago, catamarans were reserved mostly for sport or simple leisure pursuits. The words ‘luxury’ and ‘catamaran’ simply didn’t go together, much to the disappointment of Lapp. Owning two of the vessels and chartering them around Madagascar, Lapp noticed a potential gap in the market for mixing the benefits of a multihull, with the luxury of a motor yacht.
2008 INNOVATION CONTINUES
Sunreef created a yacht for legendary sailor Laurent Bourgnon, who was looking for the perfect yacht to tour the world with his family. As a result, the 70 Sunreef Power was designed – together with Laurent - revolutionising the world of power catamarans. Extremely fuel efficient, she was able to be trans-Pacific, and travel up to 11,300 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Further innovations saw the addition of a double deck superstructure, giving additional space to set up a master cabin with panoramic ocean views.
2003
THE FIRST SUNREEF IS LAUNCHED
The Sunreef 74 becomes the first ocean-going catamaran of superyacht quality; and the first luxury catamaran to have a flybridge.
HERE COME THE SUPERYACHTS
Sunreef enters the superyacht market by launching two super-catamarans: The Sunreef 102 Ipharra, a beautiful double-deck, fully-custom expedition yacht, was built for the Swiss boarding school, Institut Le Rosey.
And the Sunreef 114 CHE, a sleek, fast and luxurious catamaran, which was - at the time of her launch - the largest sloop-rigged catamaran in the world.
2012 DOWN IN FLAMES
Sunreef’s annus horribilis. A huge fire breaks out and the entire production site burns down, including several yachts under construction. Plans to rebuild are made before the ambers even died down.
2013 AN EYE TOWARDS THE FUTURE
After the horrific fire of 2012, it’s remarkable that just a year later Sunreef is able to launch the Sunreef 80 Carbon LineL the world’s first carbon catamaran superyacht.
This also sees Lapp receive Entrepreneur of the Year at the World Yachts Trophies in Cannes.

2020
“SHIPYARD OF THE YEAR”
Success follows success, and on top of being crowned the best shipyard in the world, the 80 Sunreef Power “Great White” is delivered to Rafael Nadal, and Nico Rosberg adds an extra touch of luxury by joining as new brand ambassador.
2021
MORE ROOM REQUIRED
Sunreef expands with a new and innovative shipyard more adapted to superyacht construction, while also maintaining the shipyard in the heart of Gdańsk.
More than 2,000 now work for the company, and Fernando Alonso joins the family of brand ambassadors - while also commissioning an electric 60 Sunreef Power.
2022
TWENTY YEARS ON, AND THE GREEN REVOLUTION IS HERE
Never ones to shy away from innovation, in its second decade of building Sunreef Yachts has created a new solar power solution: composite-integrated solar cells are seamlessly integrated into the whole bodywork, generating more clean power on board than any other yacht.
The Sunreef Yachts Eco range is just the start of this green revolution, with the Sunreef 80 Eco featuring solar panels in the hull, superstructure, bimini and mast. It also has custom-engineered, ultra-efficient batteries, and a hydro-generation system to generate power from the engine propellers while under sail. And as if this wasn’t enough, they’re due to launch the new Explorer line along with brand ambassador explorer Mike Horn, build a new shipyard in the UAE, and… well, let’s just wait and see what 2023 has in store!
ONE WAKE AHEAD, ACTUALLY TWO.
With the BGM75, Bluegame enters the multihull segment and yet again does so with a groundbreaking vessel that looks to the future, a platform for innovation that confirms the leadership in sustainability achieved by the group.
The BGM75 is the first model in the new BGM range with which Bluegame enters the multihull segment, is first and foremost a luxurious, beautiful motor yacht that "by chance" has not one hull, but two.
From the multihull, the BGM75 benefits from increased stability, large volumes, and reduced fuel consumption. An ultraefficient hull derived from the America's Cup, designed by Philippe Briand, a world-renowned expert in the design of performance hulls, optimisation of the Volvo IPS propulsion system with 50% less power required than mono hull vessels of the same volume, use of carbon for the hull, use of lightweight materials for all non-structural parts and all furnishing components, all contribute to an impressive reduction in fuel consumption. An additional detail of attention to sustainability is the production of 5kW of green energy, guaranteed by the 56 solar panels that can be installed on the deckhouse.
Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni, tried and tested collaborators of the brand, have fully grasped the power of such an avant-garde project, giving a "futuristic" contribution to the external lines and a smart use of the interior volumes, such as to make one forget that they are distributed over two separate hulls. Always of the moment, maximum comfort, refinement and distinctive liveability are the hallmarks of all Bluegame models.
SANLORENZO SD90
Sanlorenzo confirms its commitment to responsible development by pursuing projects for a future in which yachts are becoming increasingly environmentally friendly. The new SD90, the semi-displacement navetta, is a significant step along this path.
Entry-level of the revamped SD line, SD90 is the third chapter in a success story that began with the SD96 and SD118, which bears the signature of Zuccon International Project for the exterior design and Patricia Urquiola for the interior.
The layout is designed to guarantee the boat's maximum liveability, as can be seen from the new solutions introduced both externally and internally, which gives a totally new perception of space compared to other yachts of the same range.
With a hull length of less than 24 metres and an overall length of almost 28 metres, the SD90 is a project that focuses on transversal technological efficiency, both in terms of resistance to motion by the hull, designed in collaboration with Philippe Briand, and in terms of its research of materials.
Great care has been taken with the research and use of
materials, such as the boiserie, embellished by Paper Factor in recycled paper. The bow wall of the saloon is made of recycled glass and has been designed as a translucent filter that allows a glimpse of the staircase behind, giving a see-through effect that does not close off the space, but, on the contrary, amplifies it.
As with the materials used, great attention has also been paid to the equipment and systems: from the class A++ appliances to the Eco air conditioning system, every instrument on board has been selected not only for its high quality but also to ensure lower consumption. High-performance thermal and acoustic insulation also ensures a significant reduction in waste.
With the SD90, Sanlorenzo is moving ever closer to the needs of an evolving market through a constant process of research and innovation, ranging from aesthetic solutions to the relationship with the environment.
SPOTLIGHT AZIMUT
Azimut pioneered the approach to sustainability issues with the creation of the family of Low Emission Yachts, which now includes a remarkable 50% of the models in the range. For Azimut, the benchmark for including new models in this family is “20% less” emissions.
Grande 26M. Azimut was the first brand to believe in Pod propulsion systems, today’s market-beating technology. Drawing on past experience, for Grande 26M the Yard developed the new Pod 4600 propulsion system in partnership with ZF and installed it for the first time on the new Grande line flagship. The system, combined with a 30% lighter superstructure achieved through the extensive use of carbon fibre, delivers 20% lower fuel consumption than boats the same size at the most frequently set speeds.
Grande 36M forms part of the Low Emission Yacht range thanks to synergy between the highefficiency D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull, designed by P.L. AUSONIO Naval Architecture in conjunction with the Yard’s research and development office, and extensive use of carbon fibre to reduce the weight of the superstructure. These innovative design features introduced by Azimut make it possible to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% compared to boats of the same weight and size with a traditional chine hull.
Magellano 30M adapts to a variety of sea conditions thanks to the Dual Mode double chine hull, which compared with traditional hard chine hulls ensures smoother entry into the water and guaranteed efficiency and stability even in rough sea, plus a 20% reduction in emissions. Another feature that ensures seamless contact with the sea and respect for the natural environment around the yacht is Zero Emission Hotel Mode, a stand-by operating state that keeps the onboard systems supplied with power without switching on the generators, for up to four hours during the day and eight hours at night, so the owner and guests can enjoy the sound of silence at anchor.
The S Line family of sportier performance products is also the focus of Azimut’s most advanced research. The high-efficiency hull, carbon superstructure and IPS triple propulsion system reduce the fuel consumption of the new S7 by up to 30% at medium and high speeds.

ferrettigroup.comCITADEL COMPLETIONS WHEN YOU GET TO THE TOP, THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO GO…
You have flown through the ranks: business class, first, private jet rental, and you now own a top-of-the-range business jet. But, business jets all have one major drawback: space. Or a lack of it.
Private jets are feats of engineering, but they cannot compete with the operational economics of a commercial airplane. The reason is simple – they were never designed to do so. The solution is to think bigger and buy into a concept that might at first seem extraordinary, but is actually highly practical: own a large airliner transformed for your private use.
Citadel Completions is at the helm of such transformations, customizing narrow and wide-bodied airplanes and turning them into luxury, private, aircraft.
Acknowledging that space is the ultimate luxury, you cannot compare the passenger space of a private airplane with that of a business jet. More is simply more, and four times more is a game-changer. Citadel Completions are transforming the PJ lifestyle, so that flying becomes a joy rather than something to manage.
A MEGAYACHT OF THE SKY
Whereas a business jet compromises space for speed, privacy and flexibility, a large airplane delivers all of these advantages without any compromises. A private jet, by its very nature, can never recreate the quality or quantity of space that you enjoy at your homes on land or at sea.
On board a Citadel Completions aircraft, the living environment is such that allows you to continue your day as if nothing had happened; except you took off, traveled and landed. Citadel Completions can create a home in the sky, raising the hightest standard of living up to 43,000 feet. In terms of exclusivity, owning a superyacht is no longer the greatest marker of success. And neither is a private jet. A private airplane on the other hand...
Nothing can match the status of your own private airliner. As a number of top end business jets cost over US$100 million, upgrading to a totally custom aircraft with double the space makes both logical – and financial – sense.
But there is more to it than just an increase in space. It’s the freedom to create the environment you want or you do need to live in. Overcoming preconceived ideas of the features and style of an aircraft interior is the key to your designer levelling up your lifestyle. There are few limitations on what can be included in the scope of your design. Think multiple bedrooms with bathrooms, and separate areas for a a dining room, lounge, conference room, cinema and even a gym.
Creating your own environment in the sky is an intriguing opportunity. Consider a dedicated cinema with all the latest films and sports programmes. Then why not include a spa with treatments for everyone in the family? A yoga space, a games room or even a golf simulator programmed with all the top courses; a music room dedicated to perfect, concert- quality sound, a library and a fully-equipped business centre with state-of-the-art communications.
Give your private chef a galley to create your own pesonalised cuisine, or if needs be, a medical room could be included so that your private physician can look after you, or your loved ones throughout your flight. With Citadel, you have the total freedom to create a flying home to suit your needs.
If the lifestyle benefits of owning a large airliner are clear-cut, the operating costs will come as something of a surprise. Narrow and wide-bodied airplanes are designed for the ultra-competitive world of commercial travel. It is an industry where minutes and miles make a difference in dollars and cents on an airline’s bottom line. Commercial aircraft have to be cost effective to run. Parts are easy to access and quick to replace. They are also considerably cheaper than spares for a business jet.

BENTLEY FLYING SPUR HYBRID
by Richard McCreeryPaul Simon might have come up with 50 ways to leave your lover, but Bentley has developed 56 billion ways to create your own individual car. That is the astounding number of different combinations the British company says can be configured when choosing your car, so you are unlikely to run into another that is exactly the same.
The vast range of colours, trims, hides, wheels and options on offer mean that you can go in whichever direction you like, whether it’s sporty, classic or even bling - our test car with gold (Patina) paint and black gloss detailing certainly draws the eye. It is rare that one model of car can be produced with so many different types of character, but that is precisely what Bentley has managed to do as it caters for the growing trend of personalization.
The Bentley Flying Spur, the car tested here, is a 4 door saloon with active all-wheel drive that offers practicality and space for those who may feel that an SUV is just too big. Not that the car is small, measuring 5.3 metres in length, but for driving pleasure the saloon has a lower stance that seems better suited to European roads, which can often be quite narrow. Fortunately, the Flying Spur never feels especially wide for a car in this class
and the perfectly weighted steering makes it easy to position on the road, something that is very welcome when you are travelling at speed down winding lanes.
The beautiful ‘Flying B’ on the bonnet also helps you determine where the front of the car is and reversing is made relatively easy thanks to various cameras that even include an overhead view of the car - how do they do that?
The Bentley can be specced with either a 6 litre W12 engine, a 4 litre V8 or a 2.9 litre V6 plug-in hybrid combination. If you are looking for drama, go for the W12, but if you are considering the limousine-like Flying Spur over the other models in the Bentley range then you are probably looking for something else.
The smaller-engined hybrid changes the character of the car somewhat compared to those with larger
THE FUTURE OF LUXURY CAR TRAVEL IS HERE
engines but its power is practically the same as the V8 when the electric motor kicks in, putting out 536 bhp in total. A time of 4.3 seconds to go from 0-100km/hr is quick enough to match a Porsche 911 Carrera and is only two tenths of a second behind the V8 Flying Spur. Going electric doesn’t mean going slower.
The V6 might not be quite as earthquake-inducing as its big brothers but the addition of a silent, clean form of propulsion brings other advantages. For that true limousine experience, nothing beats rolling away from standstill on full electric power and it will run like that for up to 40 kms. Aside from the absence of noise that enhances your sereneness, the car glides down the road at low speeds with a smoothness that can’t be matched by a traditional engine and it feels very special.
The other advantage is that the hybrid model uses
a lot less fuel than most other cars of this size and performance, with Bentley claiming a Combined Fuel Economy figure of 3.3 l/100 km (85 mpg) for the hybrid versus 12.7 l/100 km (22 mpg) for the V8. Fuel consumption might not be an issue for owners who can afford the 177,000 Euros starting price for this model, but it also produces considerably fewer emissions: 75g/ km vs 288 g/km, helping offset any guilt you might feel about driving such a large car.
Apart from the choice of engine, prospective buyers will be faced with another dilemma - where to sit. Even though the driver’s seat is a wonderful place to be, once you’ve spent some time in the rear of the car you probably won’t want to get out. There is a huge amount of room to stretch out, the Beluga leather with contrast stitching feels soft to the touch and the massage seats work very well. The twin sunroof setup means that
passengers have plenty of light if they want it, but they can also quickly close several blinds all around them at the touch of a single button. Travel in the back of this car and you soon start to feel like royalty, an experience that is enhanced by the high quality of materials and intricate design highlights, not to mention the number of people who want to photograph this giant gold bar on wheels (to stay under the radar, choose one of the other 80 colour combinations on offer).
And whilst Bentley is a brand that people associate with tradition and classical engineering, the latest models are hardly short of the kind of technology that make the driver’s life more pleasant, safer and easier. The head-up display soon becomes the default way to check your speed, with the figures hovering in thin air above that long bonnet. You also have night vision, adaptive cruise control, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and the ability to check the status of your car remotely using your smartphone.
Ambient mood lighting means that the interior looks even more glamorous in the dark, plus there
is the option of a 20-speaker Naim sound system and removable touch screens to keep younger passengers occupied. In sharp contrast to all that tech, there is even a traditional compass, one of the three chromeringed dials that appear by magic thanks to the rotating display panel on the dashboard.
The hybrid Flying Spur may not be the sportiest car in the Bentley line up, but it feels like the future. The ability to glide serenely through town on electric power seems to compliment perfectly the nature of this particular model, it enhances the car’s luxury status.
Once you’ve tried it, you may never want to go back to a car that only runs on old fashioned fossil fuels. And with so much power, this car will be fast enough for most people in the real world. Of course, no one ever said Bentley’s were cheap, you can have a Mercedes S-class for much less.
But the difference is reflected in the way you feel when you are on board, either behind the wheel or as a passenger. In the Flying Spur, you are being treated like royalty rather than someone who simply has money.

BRINGING THE 1920s INTO THE 2020s
by Luca MarottaLaura Gallon is no stranger to beautiful things. Born and raised in the elegant surrounds of Paris, design is in her blood; but her love for jewelry goes much deeper than this.
After being gifted a pair of diamond earrings that were made by her great-grandfather, Laura went on a personal pilgrimage to discover her heritage, and once more link the Gallon name to hand-crafted, bespoke jewelry.
L.M. What inspired you to create your own jewelry brand?
L.G. I come from a family of jewelers; my great-grandparents on my father’s side were jewelers in Orléans, just south of Paris, in the 1920s. I haven’t always been in jewelry, however.
I actually started working in the fashion industry in Paris, working across design, marketing and communications. Later, when I worked in New York, I wasn’t satisfied with my career, and started to think about what else I could do.
L.M. What was the moment where you thought to start working with jewelry?
L.G. My father gave me a pair of fan-shaped diamond earrings that his grandfather had made for his grandmother. Those earrings were kind of the starting point for me finding my purpose, finding what would fulfill me. And so I decided to go and study gemology and jewelry design at GIA (The Gemological Institute of America, ED) , and to go back to my family heritage.
L.M. Has that familial heritage influenced your style and designs at all?
L.G. Definitely. The 1920s, Art Deco period inspires what I create today, and I’m definitely taking that heritage and reinterpreting it, bringing it back with a modern touch. I think the Art Deco style and jewelry from that period is making a come back.
But I think that it’s interesting to add a modern touch to it with new gemstones, for example, that weren’t used at that time; I use more color whereas back then it was more diamond focussed. I’m just mixing a bit of the past with the present in that way.
L.M. And, I would presume, that with the evolution of jewelry making techniques you are able to create things today that would not have been possible back then. L.G. Yes, for sure. It’s a very different way of working now.
L.M. When was your brand – Laura Gallon – created?
L.G. In May 2020, pretty much 100 years after my great-grandparents founded theirs. I founded it during the middle of the pandemic when I was in Los Angeles. I created two collections there; the first, “Haute Color” after haute couture, inspired by my fashion background. This collection is one-ofa-kind pieces. Very colorful, very vibrant, and all inspired by the colored stones that I found through my travels and meetings with gem dealers.
The second, which is called “Ready-To-Wear”, are all pieces that are wearable daily. They can be mixed and matched together, and all are available in white, yellow, and rose gold. They’re also at a more affordable price point for younger clients.
L.M. And now you’re back in France?
L.G. I spend my time between FRance and the United States. I actually went back to where my greatgrandparents had their store and their workshop. I did a lot of research in the city archives to find as much information as I could on them and their life and their workshop.
L.M. Did you find their shop?
L.G. Their shop no longer exists, but I found the building where it was. It was incredible from having seen photographs of it, to just standing in front of the same building. It was one of those moments where it just hits you. Boom. This is the reason why I’m doing jewelry today, the reason why I’m in the industry, because of my great-grandparents and their heritage, and because I was given those earrings that my great-grandfather created.
L.M. And is that why you took the bold step to name your brand after yourself?
L.G. Yes, because I want to continue this heritage from my father’s side - I share the same last name, Gallon. You can see in the old pictures that my surname is there on the storefront. So I really wanted to incorporate this heritage into my brand identity and into my business, and into everything that I do.
L.M. And this also inspired your latest collection?
L.G. I named my newest collection Alice, directly inspired by those earrings my great-grandfather created for my great-grandmother, Alice. It’s a tribute to her as much as it is my heritage.
L.M. And this collection was designed in the US or France?
L.G. In France, as I stayed for the entirety of 2021. It was very important to have this collection made in France versus the US for my previous two collections. I began looking for a workshop there, and I found an amazing one in Nice through recommendations in the industry.
L.M. Tell me more about this collection. L.G. It features 21 pieces, made up of earrings, necklaces, rings, and a cuff bracelet. I used 18 karat gold and a mixture of colored stones and diamonds. I love color and I love how some people are naturally drawn to certain colored stones. It brings out emotion as each colored stone is very unique, so I tend to incorporate them a lot in my creations.
L.M. How do you feel being a small brand in a huge industry dominated by the big players?
L.G. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing if I didn’t believe in it. The more I talk with my clients about that the more confidence I have about the future of the brand. My clients don’t want a piece of jewelry that thousands of other women worldwide have. They want something unique. In that sense, I think being a smaller brand is a strength.
My clients don’t want a piece of jewelry that thousands of other women worldwide have. They want something unique.
Laura GallonL.M. How do you see your brand vision evolving?
L.G. I’m always thinking strategically and trying to plan for the next few years ahead. I’m going to start looking for investors, because everything right now is self-funded. And that’s been working well! But, in order to continually develop collections and keep the business going I’m looking into investment.
L.M. And for potential investors, you’ve already hit the red carpet in Cannes! L.G. I was lucky enough to have two actresses wear my pieces on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. I was also lucky enough to walk the carpet myself with my own pieces. It was definitely a magical milestone for my career. And quite fitting - I was talking to someone the other day who said my family story could also make a great film! So it was fun to walk the red carpet imagining it could possibly be for a future film about my family.

HOW A TOURBILLON WATCH CAN TAKE THE CONCEPT OF "BESPOKE" TO A GALACTIC LEVEL
by Flora HilgerA unique piece of the universe appears when chronometry and the cosmos merge. As the melody of a newborn star rotating around a planet, a high-end watch takes form on our wrist by embracing us in celestial creativity.
KF watches are a perfect example of this philosophy, which sees in a watch a universe in its own right. As it happens in the galaxy, and in life, the options are limitless with KF watches, ranging from a futuristic mechanism to total customization, aligning the watch manufacturing with your individuality.
This real exclusivity stems from the fact that each KF model is, by definition, unique in terms of both design and construction. Beyond the design, it
is obviously technical research that makes the difference with respect to other complications. The patents characterizing the EI8HT-Meteorite model have been developed with a very specific purpose: to guarantee absolute precision and maximum protection for the watch.
The Spirograph® balance, the fine adjustment, the thermos-compensation, the reinforced anti-magnetism, the balance-stop mechanism and the crown-based antishock device are all elements that combine to create a truly extraordinary watch embodying the deepest Swiss tradition, and radiating a resolutely contemporary style. And the meteorite dial, on the background of the rotating hands, makes the analogy with the dance of the planets around the sun even more real.
Since the creation of the Maison, each timepiece has been designed according to the desires of its purchaser according to the ‘‘ Bespoke only ’’ concept. The aesthetics of this new complication can thus be completely personalised.

A PARLOUR OF IDEAS WELCOME TO FORCE ONE
By Luca MarottaIt may seem strange to introduce ourselves so many years after the first edition of FORCE ONE was printed, all the way back in 2015. From a tiny room that fit not much more than one desk and a chair on Ruelle de la Fonderie – close to the palace, but so far from the grandeur – the magazine was carefully constructed every month. It was a passion project, and a massive risk.
Fast forward seven exhilarating (and tough) years, and we have seen ourselves go through a metamorphosis. From the struggling caterpillar of the early years we have now emerged a beautiful butterfly, and now find ourselves in a stunning, art-filled new office on 7 Avenue Ostende, overlooking the harbour of Monaco and first turn of the Grand Prix.
Introducing: the new FORCE ONE office.
We are more than just a magazine, and we needed our surroundings to reflect this. We wanted to, and have now, created a space which is not just an office, but a place to meet with clients, partners and friends to share ideas, talk about art, discuss the future of design, discover new luxuries; a parlour of ideas.
Designed by the kaleidoscopic architect Carlo Rampazzi, whose ability to inject the personality of his clients into his designs is unparalleled, our new office is unapologetically a scion of great interior design.
We have brought the outside in; our ceiling is painted with angelic clouds and a soothing sky blue, continuing the view from the wall of windows overlooking the harbour. This too is reflected on the custom made carpet, making you feel as if you are suspended in a dream-like scene.
But amidst the pastel are pops of colour, provided by the artisan furniture of Sergio Villa, a collaboration between the eponymous designer and Rampazzi.
From the Brianza workshop in Northern Italy, the celestial theme of the office is complemented by seductively eccentric armchairs, one representative of the sun, the other a moon. Our other “office furniture” could not be further from the dull, wood and leather clad images this phrase summons up. Simple forms like desks and coffee tables have been infused with a design-first approach, and makes for the perfect setting to discuss similar subjects with our visiting partners.
This new space also gives us the opportunity to host new artists on our walls and turn a portion of our office into a tiny gallery, as part of our ongoing partnership with the HOFA Gallery, founded in London’s Mayfair. Friends of FORCE ONE will have exclusive access to these artworks, with the opportunity to also discuss art investment in a private and inspirational setting.
The first artist to grace our walls is the incredible Chinese artist, Zhuang Hong Yi. Working between The Netherlands and Beijing, his work is influenced by the Dutch love of flowers and Chinese love of colour, intricately crafted together to produce sculptural canvases that embrace the emotions of his heritage, and the sophistication of his present.
We have come a long way. It’s hard not to tear up when surrounded by such beauty, the result of so much hard work from an incredibly talented and dedicated team. And we want to share this with you, our space, our ideas, our love of beautiful luxury.
So, welcome to FORCE ONE. We hope to see you soon.
ZHUANG HONG YI AN ARTIST'S INCREDIBLE ASCENT
by Adrian St. ClairZhuang Hong Yi has always been a free thinker with a very creative imagination. In early life, the artist had a fixation with aviation and a romanticized notion of the freedom they symbolised. For him, freedom is related with the creative process.
The goal of Zhuang's artistic practise stemmed from a desire to portray via creativity his mind's perceptions of the world around him, the people in it, the beauty and emotions that emerged from it. For him, the goal of art is to communicate a pleasant feeling: to make people feel joyful, emotionally rich, and whole.
Zhuang Hong Yi was born in the Chinese province of Sichuan in 1962 and now divides his time between the Netherlands and Beijing.
The flower motif continues to dominate Zhuang Hong Yi's practice - a significant image in Chinese culture that carries innumerable meanings and emotions while also having strong associations with the Netherlands, which is famous for its flowers.
The artist works patiently and religiously on this subject, year after year, intricately crafting his artworks with care and forethought.
Zhuang Hong Yi has a totally unique vision that stems from comprehending polar opposing cultures.
For four years, he studied in an art university in China, where he was formally taught in conventional methods, composition, and how to sketch and paint. Then, after five years of self-exploration, he moved to the West to study at the Rotterdam Art Academy.

"Need
This experience has lead the artist to see the benefits of each culture: The method is everything in the East; the concept is everything in the West.
Everything in Zhuang's work is symbolic, showcasing an ongoing conversation about his situation as an artist caught between two cultures.
Working with rice paper, a traditional Eastern material, and incorporating lotus and rose motifs, both of which are intrinsic to Chinese culture. Simultaneously, he works with the tulip, which is extremely symbolic of Holland. Everything has a purpose.
Zhuang's well-known and highly regarded “Flowerbed” works are made from delicate pieces of coloured rice paper twisted and folded into numerous small colour changing buds.
As a consequence of this illustrious heritage, Zhuang's "Flowerbed" artworks have become model works that continue the historic creative discoveries of Kinetic Art, paving the path for future generations of this fascinating artistic niche.
Impressionism and other Western aesthetic traditions are also influences of Zhuang's painted canvases. His impasto strokes of bold, vivid colours are expressive and unconfined, unbound. Colours blend as paint pours down the canvas, flowing over a beautifully unfolded rice paper flower collage. These pieces are both paintings and sculptures due to their nearly architectural three-dimensionality. Messiness, diversity, and chance are all celebrated, enticing the observer and inspiring thought.
His art has been displayed across Europe and China, and his works are kept in various prestigious public and private collections throughout the world. He has also been the topic of multiple museum exhibitions at Groninger Museum in Groninger, Netherlands.
HOFA Gallery continues to collaborate with the artist and showcase his exquisite artworks in group and yearly solo exhibits, as well as international art fairs.
This is for me the idea of art: to convey a positive feeling: to allow people to feel happy, emotionally rich and complete.
THE SONG OF SONGS
by Perla"There is nothing more beautiful than the Song of Songs," says a character in the novel The Man Without Qualities of R. Musil.
The Song of Songs is a text contained in both the Hebrew and Christian sacred texts.
Composed towards the fourth century BC, it is one of the last texts accepted in the canon of the Bible, about a century after the birth of Christ. It consists of eight chapters containing love poems in the form of a dialogue between a man and a woman. The title 'Song of Songs' is a Semitic way of expressing the superlative: the 'Song' par excellence, the 'sublime song' of love and life.
Rabbi Akiba wrote: "The whole world is not worth the day when the Canticle was given to Israel", while Karl Barth, one of the greatest Protestant theologians of the twentieth century, called it "The Magna Carta of humanity"
So the Song has long been seen as something of a gift to mankind. But what can it tell us about our humanity?
It is certainly appreciated by lovers of Beauty, because few other poems express the pursuit of the mystery of Love in such an overwhelming way .
Marc Chagall
Branche"
I sleep but my heart waketh / Hark! My beloved knocketh /
Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled/ ...
Thirty-one times in the poem the spouses refer to each other as "my beloved", a term of endearment very much like the secret nicknames lovers invent. They experience all the freshness and intensity of true love. This intimacy arises from sexuality (which Genesis 1:31 defines as “very good”), rendered sublime with Eros and has its apotheosis in love.
The Canticle tells of the idyllic love between a young shepherd (the groom) and a shepherdess (the bride), and is set both in a palace (perhaps the king's palace?) where the bride comes to find herself by mistake, and in the fields.
It’s a dialogue of ongoing love, expressing a vehement desire for possession in an illuminated oriental context, imbued with the colours, fragrances and flavours of the earth.
At a certain point a third party enters, probably King Solomon himself, who, with the help of his courtesans, wants to have the woman in his harem. She rejects his advances, turning to the young women who make up the choir, the daughters of Jerusalem, venting her feelings of nostalgia for her Beloved and narrating the dreams that give her the illusion of seeking and finding him. Human love knows absence, fear, silence and loneliness; indeed, in the Song of Songs there are two very tense nocturnal scenes, in which the man and the woman are far apart, seeking each other desperately but without finding each other. But their destiny can be one alone: "for love is strong as death" (8:6).
The writer of this revered poem is certain that love must prevail.
The last scene tells of the meeting of the lovers in the Palestinian countryside, and is a veritable eulogy of true and uncontested love.
This poem breaks down all hypocrisy, because those who love see nature, body and feelings through different eyes, as they really are, that is, in their true radiance.
The Canticle has been given many interpretations, due precisely to its facetted structure: in the Jewish tradition, it has been interpreted as the marriage between God and humanity; in Christian theology it represents the union between Christ and the Church.
Apart from the theological interpretations, the Canticle’s author knows well what real love means, full-bodied, charged with Eros. The infinite and the eternal that lead to the tenderness of feelings and the fullness of love would not have been revealed without the narration of the woman’s beautiful body and the vigorous body of the man.
I like to think that in this book God speaks the language of lovers.
All lovers should read the Canticle, both when love triumphs and when, as the bride in the Song did, one experiences distance, or feels love humiliated and obscured. The Canticle should be an accompaniment for all those who have had the fortune to love.

CHAGALL MUSEUM IN NICE
by Olivia Rose“When Matisse dies, Chagall will be the only painter left who understands what colour really is” - Pablo Picasso Picasso had a point. One step into the monolithic Chagall Museum in Nice and you’re already enveloped in swathes of bright colour, punctuated by magnanimous white walls.
Opened during his lifetime, the Chagall Museum remains the largest collection of his work, including the famous bible series. Yet, unlike a majority of his contemporaries who took inspiration from the Muse of Love, Marc Chagall’s muse was somewhat more divine in nature; his own Jewish faith, and an intense fascination with the Bible.
Designed by André Hermant (1908-1978), , the cathedral-like design of the Chagall Museum spawned from Chagall’s wish to create a ‘spiritual abode’ for his works; a place where the building would not make its presence felt. From the outside, it’s hard to say if this was accomplished or not. This radical design formed part of Hermant’s grand plan to redefine the architecture of museums and galleries in France, and indeed, the imposing magnificence of La Turbie stone saw the museum awarded the label of Remarkable Contemporary Architecture on 28th November 2000. But combined with Chagall’s master pieces, it just works. As it should; Chagall oversaw the build himself. Sober and functional, this great piece of architecture does little to outshine its contents, and does justice to the works housed within. Before entering the museum you’re greeted by the verdant serenity of a garden, another museum garden designed by Henri Fisch (Musée Picasso, Fondation Maeght, and Muśee National Fernand Léger). The symbolism becomes apparent when you reach the Grande Salle, but in a poignant nod to the artist, African Lilies were planted as a flower to bloom in time each year for Chagall’s birthday on July 7th. Central to the museum are the so-called ‘Biblical Message’ murals, produced on the twelve key events from Genesis
and Exodus, the first two books of the Jewish and Christian Bibles. This fascination with the divine was something innate within Chagall, having been born to a devout Jewish family in Belarus in 1887, and strengthened during his travels throughout Russia and France.
We are lucky to know much about Chagall’s early life and how it inspired his art from the autobiography he published under the rather uninspiring title: “My Life”. A picture emerges of a young artist, his art a response to his surroundings and deep-set faith – influences that were to never leave him.
But it was only in the 1930s after a trip to Tel Aviv did Chagall find his calling.
It is an almost other world-ly experience to enter the whitewashed magnificence of the Grande Salle, built specifically to house series. Each wall is adorned with one large commanding painting, the central theme being man’s relation with God; unlike many of his contemporaries who were exploring the theme of man’s relation with women. Greens, blues, and yellows are dominant across the twelve murals, with enough symbolism to entertain for hours, and in the chapel-like side room are displayed five further paintings, known as the Song of Songs. Here, red dominates and the mood turns from the serene to something more sacred, more carnal.
Painted between 1956-1966, this series is the true legacy of Marc Chagall. As he himself said in the closing lines of his speech upon opening the museum: “In art, as well as in life, everything is possible, if there is love in it.”

BY TASCHEN
by Olivia RoseWhile finding a copy of this extremely comprehensive book (like all volumes published by Taschen) might be a little tricky, we still want to bring it to the attention of our readers.
Published in 2016 as part of the "Basic Art Series", "Chagall" offers a detailed chronological summary of the life and oeuvre of the artist, covering his cultural and historical importance.
About one hundred illustrations, across scenes of birth, love, marriage, and death, this dependable artist introduction explores the many versions of Chagall’s rich vocabulary. From visions of his native Vitebsk in modern-day Belarus to images of the Eiffel Tower, we explore the unique aesthetic of one of the most readily identifiable modern masters and one of the most influential Jewish artists of all time.

"HER MAJESTY" A PHOTOGRAPHIC TRIBUTE
by Keith FrancisBorn on April 21 1926 in Mayfair, London and crowned, by the Grace of God, Elizabeth II Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories, Head of the Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith on 6 February 1952, the reign of "The" Queen that has witnessed the greatest period of change in the history of the United Kingdom, and perhaps the entire world, has finally come to an end.
After becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a platinum jubilee on the 6th of February this year, on the 8th of September 2022 after a very short illness Elizabeth II died setting a new record for the longest reign of 70 years and 214 days. Her death falls indeed in uncertain times, with the news dominated by wars and crises, and while the country expresses its grief with hundreds of thousands of faithful subjects lining the streets of London and queuing for 30 hours to pay their respects in person to this historic monarch, the future of the Monarchy itself has never felt so uncertain.
Things were very different back in the early ‘fifties. The post-war years were a sort of phoenix time and the feeling was that nothing could stop everything just getting better and better, and the coronation was, in a certain way, its defining moment. My own parents were among the millions who bought or rented a new-fangled television set so they could witness this historic event. At the time, fewer than two million homes had television, mostly concentrated in the big cities. However, in the build-up to the big day, 526,000 television sets were sold as coronation fever swept the country. The enthusiasm for the new Queen was tangible.
Photographed for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in her private audience room at Buckingham Palace in 2014,Her Majesty wears a thistle brooch in honour of Scotland’s national emblem. © Harry Benson
But those millions of living-room television parties nearly didn’t happen at all.
Televising the coronation had been vetoed by both the Palace and Winston Churchill – but they were forced to bow both to Elizabeth’s insistence, and obviously to public opinion. TV ownership doubled and more than 27 million Britons crowded into their neighbours’ living rooms to watch the show.
It was the day the Queen truly entered the hearts of her subjects, to become the symbol, the icon of the new family through the boom times of the ‘sixties. It seems almost quaint now that the 1969 BBC documentary, The Royal Family, was seen as excessively invasive, undermining the magic of monarchy with shots of the royal family at the breakfast table.
But nothing would tear the veil of the royal image of perfection more than the events of the 1990s, when charting the breakdown of Charles and Diana’s marriage became a national obsession.
Marking the 40th anniversary of her accession, the Queen reflected, with masterly understatement, that 1992 was not a year she would look back on "with undiluted pleasure".
Her "annus horribilis" saw the Prince of Wales separate from Diana, his first wife, and her sensational portrayal in Andrew Morton's biography – a de facto autobiography, it later transpired – as a betrayed, selfmutilating bulimic. The Princess Royal divorced. The Duke of York's freshly estranged wife, Sarah, graced the tabloids topless and accompanied by an enthusiastic "financial adviser". The popularity of the royal family, unsurprisingly, ebbed.
Capping all that, Windsor Castle almost burned down, precipitating an uncommon public tear to well in the regal eye. They were dark times indeed, as the royal family discovered it couldn’t uphold the old-fashioned values of family life any better than anyone else.
But it could set an example of care, concern, forgiveness and understanding, as Her Majesty set about doing in the decades that followed.
By revealing her vulnerability, her humanity, Her Majesty regained the love of her people and truly earned the iconic status she enjoyed until her final day.
Now after this outpouring of collective love for our deceased monarch and our 10-day mandatory period of mourning, we are all waiting to see what our new
King Charles III will bring to the monarchy. I have the feeling his mother will prove a very difficult act to follow, and not many people I know like the idea of a Queen Camilla either.
Having reigned through the terms of 14 American presidents and a total of 15 UK prime ministers, in these uncertain and troubled times our Queen is gone.
God save the King !
In this definitive photographic collection of her public and private life, which includes the works of luminaries such as Cecil Beaton, Lord Snowdon, David Bailey and Patrick Lichfield, TASCHEN traces her marriage, motherhood and coronation, her encounters with with such icons of her age as the Beatles, Marilyn Munroe and JFK and her extensive travels, as well as the tenderness and humour of informal and family moments.
Her Majesty.

PORTOFINO CULTURE 2022
OR, THE IMPORTANCE OF CULTURE IN SUPPORTING TOURISM
by Manuela SchinaiaCultural activity in the world’s most famous fishing village has now become the all-round driving forces of local tourism: The celebrated Castle Brown hosts exceptional quality art exhibitions, the Teatrino stages some highly engaging conferences with artists and art historians of great depth and MuPa, the International Outdoor Sculpture Centre, fascinates visitors with over two hundred works exhibited in the open air.
Mayor Matteo Viacava introduces the first exhibition of the summer like this: “Maintaining the now historic quality of the exhibitions held so far in the halls of Castle Brown with
this duo exhibition is a real commendation for our village council. Guarneri and Parra are two artists linked not only by a creative symbiosis but by a cultural concept that comes through very clearly in this exhibition.
A visit to this fascinatingly historic place to admire the works on display, especially after its recent restoration, is a uniquely immersive experience in contemporary art for anyone choosing to visit Portofino today."
The exhibition’s curator Daniele Crippa on the other hand, has this to say: “The artistic fervour of the years back in 1977 when the adventure of the Galleria Civica di Portofino began in Castle Brown is still very much alive today, and still equally as involving for the visitors who come to this unique place from all over the world. I still feel the enthusiasm I felt when, certainly thanks to the magic that’s in the very
name Portofino, the world of culture allowed me to be part of the exhibition organising committee in support of the adventure that has now become part of the history of modern art. It’s such a rejuvenating memory.
The people around me at the time were of such high calibre: Giulio Carlo Argan - Guido Ballo - Germano Beringheli - Giuliano Briganti - Corrado Maltese - Giuseppe Marchiori - Claudio Martelli - Pierre Restany and Giorgio Strehler. Fortunately for me many of them became friends and were very supportive with their advice, and absolutely indispensable when it came to convincing artists to exhibit with us. The innumerable pages of history we wrote and the memories of those times still make everyone involved very proud.
The last few years have been particularly troubled for Portofino, beginning with one of the most violent storms ever seen that effectively cut the village off from world, and then the pandemic. Both of these events were enormously testing, but the temper of a population historically accustomed to facing and overcoming adversity proved its worth in the end. The local administration performed miracles and after brilliantly overcoming these challenges, like a Phoenix rising from its ashes chose art as the vehicle for bringing Castle Brown back into the international limelight.
It’s thanks to people like Mayor Matteo Viacava that the living flag of art once again flies over the Castle.
Last summer’s exhibition of Elio Marchegiani's latest works aroused great enthusiasm not just in the cultural world, that was obvious, but among the visitors themselves as well, visibly moved by the profound message present in his art. Now the new season is almost upon us, it’s my great pleasure to announce that the rooms will be hosting a fascinating, courageous duo exhibition of two artists from different generations linked by a common thread.
There’s a special light that unites the works of Guarneri and Parra, which in this particular dialogue and through different materials
speaks of the cultural continuity that binds them, a bond supported by the prospect of great success”
Here then the rooms light up with "Matter and Time", the title of an exhibition introducing one of the great protagonists of Analytical Painting: Enzo Cacciola.
Memories emerge like pages drawn from a fascinating tract of a never-forgotten book of life: Analytical Painting was born in the distant nineteen-seventies, an art movement whose interpreters affirmed the return to painting intended as a rebirth of the dialogue between artist, material, texture and gesture, a rebirth of a kind of painting thought to have been abandoned.
It’s the conquest of matter and surface. The exhibition at the castle clearly shows the historical-critical excursus identifying every moment of Cacciola's art up to the very latest works, always masterfully and coherently belonging to his mattergestural experience that has fascinated the art world for so long.
THE TEATRINO
This prestigious space hosted the presentation of the book:"Boccioni unpublished works" - edited by Alberto Dambruoso, curator, along with Maurizio Calvesi, of the General Catalogue of the master of Futurism.
Another great event has been the conference on "Elio Marchegiani a life for art" in which, in addition to interesting interventions by the two leading art historians Bruno Corà and Daniele Crippa, an enthusiastic Marchegiani fascinated a crowded and demanding audience with stories from his long artistic experience.
MUPA
The MuPa, or Museum of the Park International Outdoor Sculpture Centre, continued its great public success with many visitors coming to admire the more than two hundred works by artists from all over the globe exhibited in its beautiful gardens overlooking the port.
KING OF YOUR OWN CASTLE
by Riccardo CovelliNothing says luxury like staying in your own ancient tower that dates back to 1161. La Capitolare is that tower, a luxury suite in Porto Venere that offers a unique experience overlooking the waves of the Ligurian Sea. Even Rapunzel would want to stay up there.
With three floors of charm and history, in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, La Capitolare has everything you might expect from a luxury residence: private chef, open air terrace, Jacuzzi, and other unique experiences such as boat tours (you can even rent a private yacht with a skipper), wine tasting, and more. It is more than just another luxury stay; this is an experience. There’s a lot to take in. You'll be amazed by the panoramic views of the sea, the scents and flavors,
the history that envelopes you as you wander through this luxury accommodation. This is the place to stop, breathe, and enjoy every moment to explore the pearl of the Ligurian Riviera: Porto Venere.
The village of Porto Venere rises at the southern end of a peninsula, detached from the jagged coastline of the eastern Ligurian Riviera that forms the western shore of the Gulf of La Spezia: also known as the Gulf of Poets. At the end of this peninsula there are three small
islands - the Palmaria, the Tino and the Tinetto; only the Palmaria island, which rises just in front of the village of Porto Venere beyond a narrow arm of the sea, is in small part inhabited.
The Capitolare Tower stands in this ancient village, and has always protected it.
After an in-depth conservative restoration, carried out using recycled materials and following the principle of eco-friendly architecture, the Capitolare team has returned the thousand-year-old tower to the community. In this new guise, along with the attentive and exclusive service and attention to detail, Capitolare stands as a true benchmark of luxury, excellence and uniqueness.
Andrea Borlenghi is the founder and the owner of this amazing tower, that in his words "has been a bulwark for the defense of the city, and today it finally takes a welldeserved rest to welcome curious travelers from all over the world" .
The entire interior design of the suite was done by designer Federica Cristaudo. The recurring theme is the movement of the sea. You can find it in the colors, materials, shapes. The particularity of the intervention comes from the mixture of 3D Printing (made by Italian company Caracol-AM) in synergy with the applied arts dating back to the twelfth century.
A true retreat for travelers in search of uniqueness, excellence and complete privacy is waiting for you in Porto Venere.

VAST 3 ROOM APARTMENT WITH PANORAMIC VIEW
MIXING DESIGN AND EMOTIONS
A modern apartment in the heart of Monaco's waterfront district, Larvotto.
Looking for an interior design reflecting the versatility of this apartment, the floor plan was conceived to maximize space, from the living room to the kitchen, from the studio to the bedroom.
One area is well-furnished and includes a very comfortable sofa, while another space has been designated as the dining room, and decorated in a deliberately less cozy style.
Cleverly mixing opposite lines, materials and fabrics,
BKA delivered a minimalist and pure ambience while maintaining a warm atmosphere.
The glass sections allow the owners to immerse themselves in an insider view of the secrets of Monaco's most ambitious construction project, “MARETERRA”.
The distinguishing feature of this project is the continuity between interior aesthetic and exterior landscape, something that was possible to achieve thanks to the the unlimited combinations offered by Poliform's design modules.
LIMITLESS SPIRIT THAT TRANSCENDS CHAMPAGNE AND MONTE-CARLO
A shared vision followed by the common ambition: to transcend a centuries-old and legendary history. Monaco and Champagne: two territories that have made their limits a strength to free themselves from borders. The Comte de Monte-Carlo brand is the flagship of this supreme refinement upheld by the Principality.
"We keep our eyes on the horizon, beyond eras and trends. Each of our cuvée, Grand Cru, Premier Cru and Collector Edition champagnes came to life with our limitless spirit” - says Erwann Guegan, Co-Founder and CEO.
Comte de Monte-Carlo plays the leading roles in Monaco. Its name refers to an illustrious figure of the Principality; its vision is nourished by the whole history of Monaco's legendary Rocher, by all its philosophy. A story that has stood the test of time and still defies convention today.
The Comte de Monte-Carlo brand has been writing its own novel, which began in an atypical city-state where legendary pioneers have always attracted the world to itself. The most illustrious celebrities, the greatest sportsmen in the world and a plethora of sport, lifestyle, art and cultural events... an irresistible force of attraction.
This strength has always pushed the Principality to look to the future with conviction and to go beyond all conventions. This is why Comte de Monte-Carlo sees further. In the spirit of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s efforts targeting climate change and water as a critical resource, the preservation of the environment and the oceans is at the heart of Comte de Monte-Carlo concerns.
A MESSAGE "ON" THE BOTTLE
Comte de Monte-Carlo and Sun King Diamonds joined forces and created a one-of-a-kind collection of champagne bottles, coated with natural diamonds, to raise awareness about Ocean and Planetary Health. The bottles, bejewelled with the unrivalled finish of Sun King® Diamond Coating, are called « The Ocean » and « The Mediterranean Sea ».
Comte de Monte-Carlo brought together Monaco’s legendary emblems such as champagne and diamonds to celebrate the preciousness of one of the world’s endangered treasures: water. At a metaphorical level there is the message on the bottle: « The water thus oceans can be as precious as diamonds ».
Comte de Monte-Carlo has been the official champagne at the Monaco Yacht Show since 2021. The collector edition of six Methuselah bottles that hold 6 litres each and one Nebuchadnezzar bottle that holds 15 litres of champagne will be showcased during the Monaco Yacht Show.
« The Ocean » champagne was conceived with limitless spirit to be of a unique benefit for Planetary Health, where the proceeds of sales of the one and only champagne will support a better future for the ocean and the planet.
Being the official champagne of the Legends Team Cup - ATP Champions Tour, Comte de Monte-Carlo is proud to celebrate the moments of victory during the journey into limitlessness.
The first event, which took place in the Amphitheater of Pula in Croatia, was marked by three days of pure tennis and serious competition. JENK's Wrapping Bonbon Transparent Champagne Bucket, in partnership with Comte de MonteCarlo, was at the heart of the action among the winners of the Legends Team Cup semi-final in Pula in August.
The custom created trophy for the Noblesse Oblige cuvée, signed by the winners, will be on the Dubai tennis court, for the final tournament in November.
With the limitless spirit, Comte de MonteCarlo combines the magic of champagne with world class tennis.
COMTE DE MONTE-CARLO X MARCOS MARIN WHEN ART OF CHAMPAGNE MEETS CONTEMPORARY ART
Comte de Monte-Carlo x Marcos Marin Collector Edition champagne was born from the vision of unlimited creativity committed to reinterpretation of the icons.
For this limited edition, dedicated to Joséphine Baker who settled in the municipality bordering the Principality with the support of Princess Grace, Comte de Monte-Carlo’s most precious champagne entices you to enter the world of contemporary art.
The bottle itself is laser engraved in Monaco with the motif of Josephine Baker imagined by Marcos Marin. Limited to only nine bottles worldwide, an engraved art on the Noblesse Oblige bottle pairs with the Millésimé 2010.
Comte de Monte-Carlo x Marcos Marin collaboration, officially launched during the opening of the exhibition "Les Journées de l'Art-Bre" in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in September, is the expression of the limitless spirit in art creation.
BIG ART FESTIVAL VALERY MELADZE@ YCM
The concept of the BIG ART FESTIVAL combines an exclusive Gala Dinner and a unique musical programme. Performances by Andrea Bocelli, Anna Netrebko and Jamie Cullum take place in the most beautiful locations around the world: Dubai, Courchevel, Miami, Capri, Forte dei Marmi. This special event brings the world's elite together: Zucchero, Michele Morrone, Nusr-Et, Caroline Scheufele were the guests of our unforgettable evenings.
For several years the Principality of Monaco has been the venue for the Big Art Summer Series. A grand performance by Valery Meladze rounded off the Mediterranean trilogy of our incredible summer evenings. This year the island Capri and luxurious Italian resort Forte dei Marmi have become the venues for a world premiere: Andrea Bocelli and Jamie Callum, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov and Hauser. Events by Berin Iglesias Art have been noticed by the international press and will remain forever in the history of the world music scene.
On August 6th, super-popular Georgian singer Valeri Meladze performed for the first time at the legendary Yacht Club of
Monaco. This iconic venue is a private club which is not open to all, however the guests of the evening had the unique opportunity to enjoy a view of the Mediterranean coast, the port of Monaco and the Palace enjoying an elegant cocktail on the terrace. A gourmet dinner created by Chef Simon Ganache provided an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Dishes were accompanied by exclusive wines from partners La Scolca and SGC.
Unforgettable show
Maxim Berin, president of Berin Iglesias Art and founder of the Big Art Festival, greeted the guests. The musical part of the evening - the long awaited performance of Valery Meladze on stage was a real celebration of music and dance. Our guests saw an incredible musical show and performed their favorite songs on the same stage with an iconic singer!
An atmosphere of unity with beautiful Mediterranean nature, a wave of positivity and drive! "White Moth Samba", "Beautiful", "Foreigner", "Tequila Love" are familiar to everyone. During the live performances of popular hits it was just impossible to sit at the tables!
The romantic song "Ocean and Three Rivers" was an enchanting end of our evening. A unique opportunity to share the stage with a legend! Valeriy invited our beautiful guests to the stage and brilliantly performed the famous song surrounded by divas.
Full of energy and inspiration, our guests continued the celebration and danced till late night to the special DJ set.
23RD PRO-AM DES PARFUMEURS
Despite the hot summer weather, the spirit of the participants of the 23rd edition of the Pro-Am des Parfumeurs remained convivial and enthusiastic.
The course at Château de Terre Blanche was exquisitely prepared for the occasion, with greens measured with the "stimpmeter" at 3m, which was enough to satisfy all players, particularly those who play the European Tour. This year 18 teams competed, with the level getting more impressive every year. The presence of Romain LANGASQUE and Victor DUBUISSON, two of our best players on the Pro Circuit, was much appreciated, representing the "ATTRACTIVE SCENT" and "ROBERTET" perfume companies respectively. Former Tour winners Diana LUNA and Jeff LUCQUIN were also playing, among many others.
Romain was able to demonstrate his skills by managing 7 birdies while Victor managed 4 birdies plus 1 eagle.
After lunch at the Terre Blanche Club House, the participants took a short break before meeting at Cannes's magnificent Bénitier beach for an aperitif on the pontoon, overlooking the bay and “le Pic de L’Ours”. The gala dinner was followed by the prize ceremony and an amazing show given by Almaz Créature, a contortionist who has performed on many international stages.
Regarding results:
In the ranking of the Perfumers' teams, it was a fantastic Net win for the "MPE" team, led by Frank BONNEF, with Rémy SCARPA, Éric and Thomas ARGENTI. They also won the general Net.
The team " ROBERTET ", led by Professional Victor DUBUISSON, with Philippe MAUBERT, Catherine MAUBERT, and Clément RAFFAELLI, won in Gross.
The general gross was won by the professional Sébastien MIHEL's team, "ATELIER BON SENS", which also includes Mattéo ZIMMERMANN, Noah CHICHE, and Charles CHICHE.
Following the prize ceremony there was a tombola with beautiful prizes including a weekend at the Domaine de Manville in Les Baux de Provence, an Italian weekend at the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort, and a magnificent watch signed by BMW.
Given the success of the event, the participants and organizers have already agreed to meet up again for the 24th edition!
