Scholarship for Best Performance in Entrance Exam

1.For four-year institute of technology and division of continuing education: The student who has the highest score in the entrance exam in each department will be awarded 40,000 TWD. 2.For five-year junior college: The student who has the highest score in the entrance exam in each department will be awarded 40,000 TWD.

Scholarship for Students Entering through the Application Track Students who enter our institute through the application process will be awarded 40,000 TWD each.

Scholarship for Special Skills For four-year institute and two-year college (Select one from 1 to 4): 1.Students whose talents and skills have been evaluated and recommended to enter our institute will be awarded 80,000 TWD. 2.Those who won the first six places in National High School Special Talents Contest will receive 30,000 TWD. 3.Those who have B level technician certificates will be awarded 20,000 TWD upon entrance. 4.Those who have A level technician certificates will be awarded 200,000 TWD upon entrance.

In response to the changing trend in the industry, our curriculum incorporates courses that cover both information management and marketing & sales management. The four main groups of courses are enterprise resources planning, marketing & sales, investment & financial planning, and operation strategy.

The department focuses on integrated management skills and IT-enabled management with respect to the following areas: enterprise resources planning, marketing & sales, investment & financial planning, and operation strategy. In view of the current trend in combining logistics, money flow, information flow, and commerce flow, we aim to prepare students to become prospective managing specialists with sold theoretical background, practical experience, and international vision through practical courses and cooperation with local industries.

Our classrooms are facilitated with a variety of computer hardware and software, as well as full internet access. We have also established enterprise resources planning lab, investment and financial planning lab, operation simulation lab, and project lab, which provide students necessary equipments for classroom practices.

ABOUT US

Founded in 1969, Lee-Ming Institute of Technology is a private college of technology with good tradition and special features. Following the college motto “honesty, simplicity, motivation, and diligence” established by the founder, we have been playing a role that promotes innovation and progress. Consisting of four schools, Engineering, Electronic Engineering & Computer Science, Management, and Family & Consumer Sciences, our institute has become the cradle of high tech and management professionals. Placing equal emphasis on theory and practice, our institute prepares students for practical skills in different professions and encourages them to participate in local and international competitions. In the past three years, our students have won over 60 awards in various contests, including the champion in The Second Digital Signal Processing Creative Design Contest held by the Ministry of Education in 2006, the champion in The Sixth National College Engineering Contest organized by National Science Council in 2006, the runner-up of the make-up section in 2005 APHCA Asia-Pacific International Hairstyling and Make-up Competition in Sidney Australia, double champion of the bridal make-up and the formal dinner make-up sections in 2006 National Hairstyling and Make-up Contest of R.O.C., champion of the amateur section in The Art of Beauty Make-up Competition 2007 by Shu Uemura, the final champion in 2007 National Collegiate Simulated Investment Contest organized by Tunghai University, and many others. In the Second CDIB FX Trading Competition 2007, our team from the Department of Business Administration won victory over 8,067 competitors at 161 universities from 11 countries, including those from National Taiwan University and National Cheng-Chi University. Moreover, our mechanical engineering teams have succeeded in taking the first, second, third, and sixth places in four out of the six categories in 2007 Taiwan Micro Mouse Contest, surpassing students from other colleges and universities. Our campus is located close to the industrial areas such as Wugu, Taishan, and Linkou, where major industries, with their demand for workforce and technology, provide occasions for industry-university cooperation and career opportunities for students. In recent years, we have established Industry-University Handholding Programs in joint effort with Delta Electronics, Inc, President Chain Store Corp., Mentor Hair Stylist Corp., and other companies under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. To encourage learning and support the underprivileged students, we have allocated 360 million TWD awards during the 2007 academic year for first-year students with distinguished performance in their academic grades, sports, language proficiency, and other special skills. The number of students who received the awards has exceeded 4,000. We will continue to offer these awards in the 2008 academic year.

Courses

The department offers three groups of courses: communication application, printed circuit board and digital signal processing.

Features

We focus our efforts on technologies for high frequency communication, optical fiber communication, multimedia communication, and digital signal processing. We were granted 9,280,000 TWD by the Ministry of Education for developing Campus Optical Fiber Broadband Multimedia Internet System in 2002. In the ensuing year, we receive another 7,270,000 TWD grant for establishing SOC System Integration Lab Project. We were subsequently granted 15,000,000 TWD for Opto-Mechatronic System Integration Lab Project in 2004.

The goal of our curriculum is to provide fundamental knowledge and skills in electrical engineering while assisting students to obtain professional certificates. Based on this goal, our faculty offers six groups of courses: electrical energy, power electronics, intelligent control, internet control, photonics & its applications, refrigeration & air-conditioning. Our courses prepare students with professional skills immediately applicable in the job market while providing solid knowledge and training for their future development.

Features

Our teaching centers on power and control technologies with respect to internet applications while catering to the needs of the optoelectonics semiconductor and the refrigeration & air-conditioning industries. Many of our courses include practicum or internship; some even use local or international competitions as course projects that allow students to apply what they have learned in the real world.

In view of the rapid changes and increasing demands from the industry, our curriculum focuses on practical technique reinforcement with a solid theory base, which includes some major courses like "Computing Network Technology” and "Embedded System Technology ".
