W E LC O M E Dear Readers,

We are about to embark on the New Year. Wishing you a Happy New Year. There is hope for the future. Nothing will go back to the way it was. I remember when ....

Now is the start of our new lives. Each step will offer an exciting adventure. Our efforts will take us forward. First time experiences for our young people. Businesses have changed. 2021 will offer new challenges with goals that we did not even realise we were moving towards.

There are opportunities to read detailed insight into millinery secrets that have taken decades to achieve. Nothing goes unnoticed with an eye for detail. Hats, outfits and trims can all be added too. Make time for yourself and celebrate each day.

There is an opportunity to take a ‘New Year’s Resolution’ in a new direction. All parts of our lives may benefit from a change. Let’s look at the possibilities. Take time out to consider your next move. From young children to older generations, this may offer more than you realise. The fashion industry has changed. Everyone is more conscious of ‘fast fashion’ and the need to repurpose and recycle clothes for the future. Each issue this year will aim to focus on sustainability for hats. This month, a knitted garment will be transformed into a hat. A careful set of instructions with a clear video will guide you forward.

When did the ‘Perch Hat’ become popular?

Rebecca Share Australian Milliner

A

Fixed by some millinery wizardry to the head! The shape is more angular than previous designs.
