Project Guide Based on an artist’s life and artwork, Pollock in this case, this project consists in the design of his studio in Bristol. The site and the characteristics of the studio wil reflect his needs and preferences, The first stage of the project wil be a research of the artist, his paintings, his life and even a look to the studios where he used to work. According to those aspects, we’l establish what does he need for the studio and the site. We wil choose a site in Bristol that matches these points and we wil analyse it. For the second stage wil be the design process of the studio itself. After researching some precedents and references for the project, we’l study the distribution, structure and environmental strategy, amongst other aspects. The final result of the studio wil be included at the third stage, showing also the environment and surroundings previously analize. The fourth and final stage wil conclude the project explaining the reason why the design is ideal for the artist.

Project Guide The Ruin is a restauration project for the National Trust. It takes place in Clandon Par, at West Clandon. On 29 April 2015 a serious fire broke out in Clandon Park, leaving Clandon House as just a shell formed by the old walls. The project consists in giving a new approach to the house, restoring it and adding two main gardens. It wil also include an approach for the whole site. The first stage of the project wil be a deep research onto the Clandon House, taking into account how it was before the fire as well. The approach for the conservation and restoration of the building wil also be decided after considering several choices and precedents. The new design for the house wil be explained in the second stage, as well as the concept that wil be used in the whole project. This section wil also include technical information and the environmental strategy used for the building, amongst other points. The third stage wil focus the attention on the Botanical garden and the Winter garden., which are the most important factors of the design. The new approach for the whole park wil be detailed in the fourth stage of the project. All the elements wil be explained and compared to the existing ones, as well as the new payment areas, accesses and activities offered. Finally, the fifth stage wil be a conclusion explaining why this approach was the best option for the Clandon Park and its most important aspects.

How does the design reflect the values of National Trust? One of the main values of the National Trust is the historical value, that’s why the design and the new approach wil respect and conservate the remainings of the existing building, taking care of it and giving it a fresh look. As the revenue is also one of the goals of the National Trust, the entrace to the house wil imply a payment for the visitors. However, the park wil be free to attrack local visitors and more public. Pride and significance are important pilars for the organization as well. They see the importance of the national heritage and open spaces and want to preserve them for everyone to enjoy. That’s the main objective of this design as well, that tries to take advantage of the fire that destroyed the house and give it a new appearance.

Project Guide This project took place during the study visit to Lisbon in January 2016. There were 6 tasks to complete related to either urbanism and the study and analysis of a public space, or traditional and non-traditional museums in the city. The aim of these tasks is to help us develop the next project: the Museum - Gallery. All the sketches and the analysis shown in this project were made individually, but choosing the site for each task within a group of six people. The fist and second tasks are focused on the study of a traditional and non-traditional museums of our choice. We had to investigate the building, its display and environmental strategy, and how do the entrance and the reception work. The third task of the project is the study of the connection between two important squares in Lisbon: Praca da Figueira and Praca do Comercio. The fourth task is related to the first project of the portfolio: The Artist’s Studio. We had to find a location for the studio within a specific area in Lisbon, and explain why it was the right choice, adapting the studio if necessary. The fifth task consists in the analysis of one of the central quarters of Lisbon, including small sketches of interior and exterior spaces to explain our walk in the area. As the sixth task we chose to finish some previous work, so it is not included in the portfolio as a task itself, but as part of the others.

Project Guide The Museum - Gallery project consists in the design of a satellite museum of a European museum of our choice in an specific site in Bath. The design wil include a masterplan for its surroundings, taking into account the accesses and the approach to the building, and some iconic landmarks in the city. The first stage of the project wil explain the choice of the parent museum and the needs of its satellite in the new location. The second stage is the urban analysis of the area and the masterplan design, which wil include some precedents, the design process and the final result. The design process for the building itself wil be the third stage of the project. The site wil be analysed again, this time focusing on the approach to the building, and followed by references for the museum. The design process wil include environmental strategy, display, distribution, technical solutions, materiality and schedule of accommodation, amongst others. The final stage of the project wil explain the result of both the masterplan and the gallery, and a visitor brochure to be given at the entrance.
