ABSTRACT The corona virus is the first and foremost human disaster in 2020. Corona virus declared a pandemic by the WHO because of more than 200 countries and territories have confirmed effective medical cases. The coronavirus affected each and every sector but here I’m only talking about how covid-19 affected the ecommerce sector in India. In India the government declared the lockdown from 24 march 2020 due to covid-19. During covid-19 period the number of internet users are increasing. The online platform is became a necessary part of our lives today. We can use online platform for everything like- Study, Online Shopping, watching movies & videos, Online Payment, Ticket Booking etc. And during covid-19 the shopping habits and consumer behaviour is changing rapidly because of the social distancing is essential for all. So consumer shifted to online platform. The Purpose of this paper is to know the impact of covid-19 on e-commerce in India and the future scenario of ecommerce in India. Keywords: Covid-19, E-commerce, consumer behaviour.

INTRODUCTION
E-commerce is an online platform that includes buying and selling of raw materials, products, services through an electronic medium by the consumer, retailer and business. While e-commerce retail is the exchange of goods and services between an online retail company and consumers (generally end users). The e-commerce transaction can be of different types such as- B2B ( Business to Business)- Examples of B2B is India mart, Trade India etc. B2C ( Business to Consumer)- Examples of B2C is Amazon, Flipkart, Mc Donald’s, Netflix, learning apps like – Byju's etc. C2C ( Consumer to Consumer)- Examples of C2C is – e-bay, an online auction site etc. Covid-19: The coronavirus disease was first identified in Dec2019 in wuhan, china and subsequently spread worldwide. The outbreak declared a Public Health Emergency of International concern in January 2020 and a Pandemic in march 2020 by WHO. The International Committee on Taxonomy of viruses based on Phylogenetic analysis has given the officially name of coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus-2 (SARS-Cov-2). SARSCov-2 is believed to be a spillover of an animal coronavirus and later adapted the ability of human to human transmission. Common signs of covid-19 infection are similar to the common cold and include respiratory symptoms such as dry cough, fever, shorteness of breath. The virus spreads mainly through the air when people are near each other. It leaves an infected person as they breathe, cough, sneeze, or speak and enters another person through their mouth, nose or eyes. It may also spread through contaminated surfaces. Total number of positive cases in India on 30 December are 1,02,44,852 and total number Of deaths are 1,48,439. E-commerce and covid-19 : The coronavirus has changed things all over the world. Because Coivd-19 pandemic is not a normal crisis. So To control the spread of disease every country follows the lockdown procedures for social distancing and India has also follow the same. Because the best way to guard against it is to stay at home. This has increased online shopping usage globally. There has been more than 10 percent growth in online shopping across categories during the pandemic globally (MC kinesy). The Indian retail market is greatly divided up between to parts unorganised sector and organised sector. The unorganised sector includes about 13.8 million conventional family run neighbourhood stores and the organised retail sector with a share less than 10%. 91percent Indians changed their shopping behaviour due to the crisis. ( mc Kinsey & co published on July8 impact of covid-19 on consumer sentiment and behaviour). Overall sale of e-commerce increases because of this virus. Because people avoiding to go out, keeping social distance and buying from home, working from home. Such as e-commerce company Myntra saw over 7 lakh first-time customers during their ‘End of reason sale’ last month. Top ten retail of ecommerce in India during pandemic is belowS. No.

Source:-Disfold.com Mostly buying products during the pandemic in india are Immunity Boosters such as Dabur chyawanprash, Pharmaceutical medicine, Patanjali’s herbal medicines, packaged foods, parle-g biscuits and white goods including juicers, mixers, microwaves and toasters quadrupled in july according to Flipkart. and the demand for hyginence appliances like vacuum cleaners, Hand sanitizers, hand washes and toilet cleaners etc. reached four time the pre-pandemic level in July. The electrical equipment company Havells India ltd. Says monthly sales of timmers were close to five time as high to pre-covid times. Online retailer Flipkart says overall laptop searches have more than doubled since march. First time purchase online by categories-

The market opportunities for e-commerce in India are expected to reach $200 billion by 2026 from $38.5 billion in 2017 (IBEF). And after banned the Chinese apps like – club factory, tiktok etc. In India by the government. Indian e-commerce will likely boom in future also. CONCLUSION
In times of such crisis the e-commerce can be an important solution for consumers the corona virus has made it clear. Because in covid time ecommerce provides alternative way to people to meet their demands. The covid-19 pandemic has reshaped our lives from how we shop, travel, work, go outside, to even how we breathe. Covid-19 has significant impact on ecommerce in India. The ecommerce platform users increases not only in urban area in India but also in rural areas. So the ecommerce sector in india is growing during this pandemic because people prefer buying things online during the pandemic because they are not willing to step out and risk exposure. And according this study the e-commerce sector in India will likely to boom in future also.
