KITE PROJECT

Salt Lake Viewing Pavilion I drew inspiration from this architecture because the concept is framing views, I thought it might be nice to have multiple views within a frame.

7

Hatshepsut’s temple by Senenmut in my kite exploration I drew inspiration from the rhythmic columns that are present in this temple.

Fake Hills by MAD Architects & Xia Zhi Filtration was the third component, filtering the elements as well as circulation was important in development

11

Iteration 1

The Idea in model is framing different views and filtering of elements. What I found successful was the rotating frames, this I kept through the entire process

Iteration 1 Iteration 1

14

This iteration was all about exploring different materials that could represent filtration. Of both light and air. With this material it was successful in providing this opaque surface where light can penetrate but the air filtration was limited.

Iteration 1

16

This final exploration I explored rotating the frameand experimenting with skin, although one of my models I didn’t photograph. Tape was unsuccessful‌.

In photographing the model as well as displaying it for the judges it was difficult to find a way to represent it accurately.

My drawing for the most part seem to be a lot more schematic and or sketchy rather than accurate renderings, plans, and sections.

Divergence

Vital

Distinct

Everlasting

24

These are the several iterations explaining the site that we visted, hippie hill. With these explorations I attempted to manipulate paper and easier materials to move around and explore ideas. This made it possible to create so many models

Ephemeral

Vital

Essential

Ephemral 26

This is the point that I chose to go with the two concepts of everlasting and ephemeral, I liked the contrast between the two antonyms. I explored shapes ultimately leading to my final design.

3rd iteration

28

1/16=1’ Model

This point I had issues with trying to figure out bow to expand my building, the first model shows the curving and continuous surfaces that I thought would represent the everlasting idea.

30

To the right i did a water color painting however, since I didn’t have time I couldn’t scan it therefore leading to my very small documentation of the painting itself.

In the end I could improve on My representation skills to Make my drawings more Clear artist and explain more. I also will explore and do More research in order To have better understanding 1st floor Of the surrounding area to design.

END.
