PATTERNS

Exploration through Sketchup helped in Learning the difference between a Group and a component. Thus, making it easier to replicate something such as patterns. *S. Ability to design intricate patterns. W. choosing between group or components causing it to take longer to complete. O. Later will be able to use this concept in creating unique patterns. R. Creating patterns outside the given Format. * Abbreviations: S.= Strengths, W. = Weakness O= Opportunities, R= Risk

1000 CUBES.

Replicating cubes was the fundamental starting point of components. Subsequently, making it easy to produce 1000 of them and editing all at once.

7

DOG HOUSE.

Beginning to design on Sketchup is a never ending editing process. Which makes it hard to just settle with one idea. W. making the holes for windows and doors was challenging for me and took longer than anticipated S. It helped explore Sketchup in a fun way by making smaller scale houses. R. I can foresee conceptual issues such as what is the purpose for your design. O. I would change the standard design and really go crazy with the idea of a dog house.

FAVORITE HOUSE.

Photograph(right page). 3. Exterior elevation

594 walnut ave San Bruno; nice balance of landscape and architecture. Favorite house I chose this house because it had a nice balance of landscape and architecture. I felt that there was a subtle integration of the landscape which made this building more interesting to me.

WALNUT AVE.

PHOTOGRAPH IMAGINE DRAW O. I could clean up my perspective drawing & make it more realistic S. Drawing dark enough so it’s legible; W. Not having straight lines or a true perspective that’s accurate. 3/32”=1’0”

TINY HOUSE.

What’s your issue with tiny homes? Strengths: I have always been stronger at representing design through sketching, I think this opinion still holds true. This sketch shows the interior space and how one would interact within it

ZERO GRAVITY.

INTERIOR.

O: Next time I would invest more time in developing the interior as well as further pushing the idea of “zero gravity by possibly adding more glass as well as hanging plants R. If I further develop this idea the concept could begin to get lost and more distorted.

IMPROVED TOOL.

I bake a lot and I’ve always had issues with measuring cups how they are connected and waste too much space.

My proposal is to make something that is not only smaller and waste less space but also looks nice sculpturally. .

LOS MANANTIALES.

Final project: We modeled a building that is already existing with its complex curves and landscape included. This was a group project and required several iteration before the final which we designed on out own.

INDIVIDUAL DESIGN.

My focus was on the landscape, I wanted to make a clear and defined pathway which would lead up to the new ‘los manantiales this would help eliminate some security issues one may have with having an open space.

INDIVIDUAL DESIGN.

This project was extremely challenging in many ways but the greatest success came with practicing through trial and error. Although I felt there were more failures than triumphs I feel like I accomplished more than I have ever.
