After School Clubs

With the move to the new campus, we took the clubs out of our teaching hours ours in order to improve our curriculum and also to offer more clubs for children. The start in autumn term was a great success. Many parents told us that their their children were enjoying their clubs. Motivated with positive feedback from students and parents, we’ve started after school clubs this term with 16 different clubs on three different days. These clubs will run until the end of this term and new clubs will ill be opening during our summer term. Our after school clubs are getting more and more popular. Therefore, please wait for the new club announcements before the end of the term and make sure that you register your child in advance in order to secure a place.

Earthquake Donations After the big earthquake that struck the People’s Republic of China, our students and parents ts collected some money to help them in the best way they could. We visited to his Excellency Liu Zengwen to hand in the collected money. Recently, the Embassy invited all the schools and companies that contributed to thank them and give a diploma to show their appreciation. We all want to thank ISB community for their contributions and awareness.

The International School of Bucharest End of Term Productions Early Years successfully presented a 40 minutes production of an enchanting musical performance called ‘The Magic Toyshop’. The children were all delightful and played their parts well, working hard at home as well as at school. Costumes were simple but very colourful and Santa even showed his tummy! Well done Early Years children! The Key Stage 1 End of Year Production was a testament to the enduring qualities of the traditional stories es that we have all grown up with and pass on to our children. The joy and enthusiasm the children displayed in preparing for this production was a delight to behold. All of the children worked very hard to ensure that they were able to give the best performance rmance possible and deserve to be very proud of their efforts. It was wonderful to see the strong support that the children were given by their parents with a large audience watching the performance. Both Year 1 classes focused on teaching tales with 1L enacting enacting the moral tale of the Hare and the Tortoise and 1R enthusiastically perform The Little Red Hen. Year 2 were enthralled by the Grimms fairy tales. 2G created an adaption of The Breman Town Musicians and 2R performed the timeless classic, Goldilocks and and the Three Bears. 2C told the story of Rapunzel. All the children are to be congratulated on their outstanding performances and their work in making this show a success. The Key Stage 2 seasonal production was on the subject of winter. It was a mixturee of drama and music, all on the winter theme, ranging from a wintry play, complete with props and scenery presented by Year 3 to the song “Winter Wonderland” sung by Year 4. Year 5 did an adoption of a Charles Dickens classic and Year 6 dramatized a well known British Xmas Carol.
