Sponsor a Student Scholarship Program

Community Education plays a vital role in creating a healthy and vibrant community. Individual and family lives are enhanced through programs and activities that not only educate, but entertain, motivate and rejuvenate.

This past year has been challenging for so many families due to the pandemic. Many families are struggling financially and emotionally. Because of this they are unable to enroll their children into educational and recreational programs that provide so many benefits to their children. Community Education classes allow students to learn social and emotional skills, provides hands-on learning that encourages skill building, physical skill development, fitness and so much more.

You can help a family by donating to the Sponsor a Student Scholarship program. Your donation will be used for the sole purpose of financially assisting a student to enroll in a community education class or activity. This opens up the opportunity for individuals in our community to participate in a wide range of lifelong learning activities.

Please call Community Education at 320.274.3058 if you would like to make a donation other than the above listed. Thank You!

YOUTH

This campaign is organized by dedicated members of the Annandale Community, not the school district. While ISD 876 is the beneficiary of the donations, the school district is not officially running this fundraising effort.

Cardinals Rising: A Donation Campaign for Annandale’s Future

Goal: Together, reach $250,000 by February 1st, 2025 and $500,000 by May 1st, 2025!

Annandale has always been a place where heart and community come together to create something special. Now, more than ever, our public schools need your support to ensure every child in the Heart of the Lakes continues to have access to the quality education they deserve.

Strong Schools Create a Strong Community

Public schools primarily rely on two revenue sources: state/federal funding and local property taxes. An operating levy allows voters to increase taxes to fund daily operational expenses such as curriculum, salaries, mental health resources, transportation, utilities, classroom supplies, athletics, clubs and more.

The recentNovember 2024 operating levyfor Annandale Independent School District #876 did not pass. As a result, our school district is facing budget cuts that will directly impact students, teachers and programs.

We invite you to visit the Cardinals Rising Facebook Page for more information on how you can make a positive impact on our community!

ADULT PROGRAMS

MINNESOTA ADULT EDUCATION

What is ABE?

Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a state-wide system that serves adults who are working towards a high school credential, learning English, improving basic skills such as literacy and math, and/or preparing for post-secondary education or employment. ABE is funded with both federal and state funds, and services are delivered through a network of 34 consortia comprising all Minnesota school districts as well as other partners including the correctional system and community-based organizations.

You deserve the respect and dedication we offer at WEST ABE. If you are focused on your learning and success, our staff will give you a great educational experience. Licensed teachers work with students to create a unique study plan. Students are encouraged to attend classes at any location that suits their needs or more than one site if they choose.

How To Enroll

Enrolling is easy! Pre-registration is not necessary however we appreciate if you call us at 320.274.3058 so we can update the instructor. If you don’t have time to call no worries just stop in to class at its scheduled time and we will sign you up.

“TheRootBeerLady”HistoryTheater, DowntownSt.Paul

We will begin our day at the Minnesota History Theater in downtown St. Paul. Theater staff will escort the group into their theater seats.

Performance: “The Root Beer Lady” Written and Performed by Kim Schultz, Directed by Laurie Flanigan Hegge. It is the story of the indomitable Dorothy Molter, the last legal non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters, presented by playwright and performer Kim Schultz. Her solo performance reflects on the beauty and hardships of Molter’s solitary yet satisfying life and pushes back against the premise that her time in the North Woods made her the “Loneliest Woman in America,” as the Saturday Evening Post claimed in 1952. Funny. Smart. Passionate. Dorothy Molter’s story will delight all, young and old.

After the show we will be having lunch at Kéy’s Café (included).

Menu: Luncheon Portion Turkey Dinner, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, Vegetable, Cranberries, Bread, Butter, Beverage, and Small Dessert.
