REFLECTIONS By Dianne J. Roderick
As we approach the Christmas holidays many of us seem to be having difficulty finding the spirit that we need in order to begin preparing for this joyous time of year. Our bodies may be willing, but our hearts are heavily ladened; filled with sadness of what this Pandemic has caused, yet hopeful that a vaccine will be developed soon. I do believe, my dear friends, that we have what we need to get us through these overwhelming times! If the Pandemic has taught us anything it has forced us to look deep inside of ourselves and retrieve those special gifts that we have been blessed with, faith, love, grace, family, friends. Sometimes we tend to take these treasured gifts for granted but they have been our saving graces over the years and will continue to lead us through the dark clouds and back into the sunshine once again.
We, as a community, have so many special saving graces to be thankful for. Our friendships that have turned into family just didn’t happen overnight. Over the years many of us have created lasting bonds. We have prayed together through the sad times and helped each other celebrate the happiest of times. I have a strong faith that By Tracy Messina
During this time of restrictions due to the pandemic, the HOA Board has been busy putting some plans together, but we need your help. weary. Well, here is your chance to get ready for when we can all once again socialize without masks and distance.
We are looking for volunteers to form new or join existing committees and plan some fun events for our community. All we are asking for is some of your time and a little labor to get our fellow residents active again (when the time comes). By Dennis Cottini
Due to the present restrictions that we now need to follow regarding the virus, I’ve decided not to conduct our usual Blood Drive at this time. Perhaps when this pandemic subsides, hopefully early to mid-next year, Del Tura will again continue with our Blood Drive tradition. As an alternative, please feel free to go to the these gifts, we have been blessed with, will get us through this holiday season together. Sharing these gifts with others is something we do very well here in our little Paradise. I don’t think we ever stop to realize how many lives have been touched by the kindness of so many that humbly and unselfishly give of themselves each day. That gift of kindness has encouraged so many of us to be hopeful and become stronger once again; each receiving a renewed sense of purpose to get them through the ups and downs of life.
Christmas gatherings will look quite different this year and we will all be celebrating the day with mixed emotions. Our families may be near, or very far away, but as we share the excitement of the day with them, and talk about what was found beneath the tree, our main focus will be on the love that surrounds the tree. We will share and focus on the blessings that do not come in the form of a package but on those gifts that are “found within our hearts”. Our personal conversations will vary from family to family but the one thing that we will all have in common are the prayers that we have for our loved ones well-being throughout the holidays and the coming year.
