PRESIDENT’S KORNER

By Liz Poniatowski

Hi everyone. Can you believe another month has gone by already? With this pandemic it seems that the days are dragging on, but the months are flying by! I must begin with an apology to Tracy Messina. In last month’s Tower I called her Tracy Morgan. Tracy, please accept my apology!

Last month was a busy one but some things that were in the Tower were changed after it was published. With the ever-changing pandemic restrictions your best place to get the most up to date and accurate information is to always verify by checking out our website: Del TuraHOA.com and our electronic board.

Barbara Schmoltze and Bertie Dugo brought another virtual coffee hour to you that was posted on our website for all to see. Thanks to those ladies for keeping this community up to date on what’s going on.

We are now in the busiest time of year, December. Although we are all very disappointed that we won’t get to listen to the angelic voices of our very own Del Tura Choralaires this season we are hoping that we will get to hear them in the very near future. The Christmas Golf Cart Parade is still being planned for Sunday, the 6th. Both HOA and HTA are sponsoring a Del Tura Charity Christmas Food & Toy Drive to support the Children’s Advocacy Center and RCMA on the 12th of December and I have no doubt that you will all be generous with your donations this time of year to those less fortunate. Wednesday, 15 December is our monthly birthday celebration in the Starlight Ballroom between 1 and 3 PM. And folks, let’s not forget helping out our Holiday Decorating committee…Leon Buss needs more money for those lights that make ours the most attention getting community! He is always available to collect donations.

The HOA has held several meetings that were open to our HOA members. Although we are not getting a big turnout we will continue to have the meetings in the clubhouse, when You can now send your suggestions to your HOA office at the following email address: DTHOASuggestionBox@gmail.com. With the current pandemic situation and everyone not readily having access to suggestion boxes in the Starlight Ballroom and the HOA Office the HOA Board created the new email address to make it easy for you to send your suggestions to us! Each Suggestion MUST have your NAME, STREET ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBER on possible, to allow you to hear first-hand what the HOA is doing for this community.

In our monthly management meeting with Fred Taylor we found out that a few of the projects that were scheduled for completion by the end of this year have been delayed until Spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Three of those projects are the Starlight Ballroom lighting project, replacing the existing window film in the Starlight Ballroom and to upgrade our STOP and EXIT signs with reflective material. Please also note that the clubhouse is open for resident use by appointment only through the HTA management office during the hours of 8am – 5pm. Residents must call the office and book the room through Colleen or Julie, do not contact the HOA office at this time. Residents must wear masks when inside and the type of activities allowed are at the management’s discretion. Card playing is still not allowed at this time.

The HOA BOD has monthly meetings with HTA management where we bring your suggestions/concerns to their attention. Please continue to use the online suggestion box for this purpose. We need everyone’s eyes to help us spot the issues that need attention so we can bring it up at the meetings.

The Board would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and whatever other holiday you celebrate at this time of year. We hope you get to spend some time with family and friends. Let us all pray for peace and an end to this pandemic so that we can all get back to enjoying life again without having to social distance. Until that happens please continue to practice social distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and just being mindful of your surroundings to help keep not only yourself but everyone else safe and healthy this time of year.

And, for the last time, this year I wish to thank all of our wonderful volunteers. Del Tura would not be our Paradise without you!

Happy Holidays and stay safe! Until next
