FALL FISH NEWS
By Ginny Benjamins
FISH is NOT making flu shots available this year so please make sure you get yours soon. Your physician can give you one or locally you can get an injection at drugstores or even when you are grocery shopping at Publix, plus they give you a tendollar store credit. Just make sure you get the protection you need against the flu.
Call the FISH line (997-3474) if you need a ride for an appointment. We have more drivers returning to Del Tura from their summer homes and they are ready to drive you. Please give us at least 24 hours or longer so we may arrange a driver.
When you call the FISH line you will get a recording asking you to leave your name, phone number, address, if you need a driver, what time you need to be picked up and the address of where you need to go. If you need medical equipment, again leave your name, address, telephone number and what equipment you need. Your request will be given to the correct person. We try to answer all calls as quickly as possible. FISH is here to serve all of Tel Tura, owners and renters alike. Remember to call FISH first before you buy any medical equipment. We have almost everything you might need.

POSITIVES
By Charlotte Ping
Covid has actually had so many positive impacts on my life that I was totally amazed.
First of all, I am not a social butterfly, so being alone does not bother me at all. I enjoy my own company and can’t think of anyone else more intelligent to talk to. (lol). I have so many hobbies and activities that keep me busy, so I have very little idle time.
It’s been like a snowball for me, rolling down a hill that keeps getting bigger. A magic snowball of opportunities to learn about myself and learn new things.
Mainly, I was amazed at how much money I have saved by not eating out or socializing with my friends. I didn’t realize how much I was spending doing those things. By cooking at home, which I enjoy doing anyway, I learned to expand my culinary skills by trying new recipes with foods I had never cooked with before.
I think the most important thing was learning patience. Everybody’s phase of life has been changed and slowed down. Especially waiting in lines at a social distance, waiting for deliveries; even the mail seems slower. Waiting means more time for yourself ... to meditate, study and catch up on all the things I was meaning to do someday, when I had the time. Well, I do have the time now and I am doing it. It’s enjoyable and rewarding.
