INTRODUCTION Saint Peter of Alcantara is the patron of Pueblonuevo de Miramontes. This saint is honoured with the festivities of this town, held every October. The feast is usually on October 15, depending on whether it is on Friday or not.
ORIGIN The festivity originated approximately in 1960, when the village was created. At time bullfighting was very typical and also the mass in honour of the saint.
GASTRONOMY In this festivity it is common to eat heifers and traditional sweets.
ACTIVITIES There are still bullfights and, of course, the mass in honour of the saint. In addition, there are more activities for children, such as games with "over-sized headed figures" and contests of "gangs". On the contrary , there are many concerts and regional dances, such as jota and flamenco. Finally, something new that has been going on for several years is the horse festival and the solidarity races, in which the whole town makes a route to help the association against cancer.

ORIGIN INTRODUCTION One of the most popular festivities in all of Spain and Extremadura is The festivity of Hispanity in Guadalupe where tourists from all over Spain come to attend the procession and mass every year for more than 90 years every October 12
The festivity of Hispanity is celebrated in commemoration of the Coronation of the Queen of Hispanity, which coincided with the arrival of Columbus' ships in the New World, which took place on October 12, 1492. In 1929 the Guard of Honor was founded, currently known as the Royal Association of Knights of Santa María de Guadalupe
ACTIVITIES In Guadalupe you can do many things on Hispanic Day, the most important is to be in the procession of the horsemen and in the mass, but apart from those two things, people usually go to the multitude of shops that are in this town where they sell typical items from Extremadura, from bracelets to knives with spatial embroidery made by hand.
GASTRONOMY Guadalupe is famous for many things: its monastery, its festivals, its gastronomy...
The gastronomy of Guadalupe is quite unique since almost nowhere do they make their own black pudding and they are able to make it recognized throughout Spain, so if you go to Guadalupe you cannot go without trying their black pudding and croquettes.
RECOMMENDATION VIRGEN OF GUADALUPE

From the experience of having been to this party several times, my preferences and recommendations are; contemplate the procession of the horsemen recalling the coronation of the queen of Hispanic, then enter the mass where you can see a specific ceremony on that day and it is quite entertaining, and finally and my favorite, it is time to eat the black pudding and croquettes in bars

INTRODUCTION Holy Week is a religious festival that lasts eight days, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. It is celebrated on a different date each year because the that Easter Sunday should be the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. During Holy Week, Christians commemorate the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave his life to pay for the sins of the world. The most important celebrations of Holy Week are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
GASTRONOMY During Easter, it is traditional to eat potato omelette, fried cod, stew, "potage", and sweets such as "torrijas", Easter buns, and "escaldaillos"...
ACTIVITIES Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday. In Almaraz, the locals come to the square to collect olive or palm branches shortly PALM SUNDAY before the Eucharist. There the branches are blessed, and mass is celebrated. On Maundy Thursday, the mass will take place in the afternoon and in the middle of the ceremony, the "Quintos" will go up to the altar and there, the priest will wash their feet. During Good Friday, the Stations of the Cross take place. In Almaraz, 24 crosses are hung up, symbolizing the 24 stops that Jesus made before reaching Calvary. At each stop, we stop and the priest reads a THE ARCH passage about what happened at each stop. On Holy Saturday the procession of silence takes place, where the glass coffin with the body of Christ is carried out. The girls are usually dressed in Spanish shawls. During Easter Sunday, Almaraz makes its famous arch. This arch is located in a street that leads to the village square. That is the place where the Virgin Mary meets the risen Jesus. When the meeting takes place, the mother and son bow to each other, and the women change the Virgin's mantle for a The "Quintos" carrying the Christ red one and put a crown on her. After the meeting, the Eucharist takes place.
ORIGIN In Almaraz, we have a tradition of performing the arch on Easter Sunday. The tradition of the arch, along with the quintos, began during the Civil War, back in the 1940s. Traditionally, the mothers of the quintos made the flowers in the early hours of Easter Sunday. These flowers are an offering to the resurrection of Christ. As has already been said, the mothers of the fifths carried the Virgin. And the fifths carried Christ, to thank that the fifths had returned from the war.
RECOMMENDATIONS If there is one thing worth seeing during Easter Week in Almaraz, it is Easter Sunday. On that day, the tradition of the arch takes place. It is built by the quintos with fodder and decorated with paper flowers, resulting in a beautiful structure. On this day, a procession takes place in which the Virgin Mary meets the risen Jesus under the arch, which is called "the encounter". This day is described with great emotion because the Virgin finds out that her son has risen. This day is celebrated in Almaraz with great devotion and a g great feast.

INTRODUCTION This celebration has its origins in the 17th century. It lasts around 6 days.
People are dressed in sergeant costumes that change colour every day of the holiday.
ORIGIN The festival originated because when there was a battle in that town, the general, seeing that the enemy outnumbered them, asked the Benemeritas Animas for help. Promising them that if they won he would dedicate a festival to them as compensation. So when they won he had to keep his promise. Since these days the carnival of the Benemeritas del Villar del Pedroso has been celebrated every year.
GASTRONOMY People eat floretas, doughnuts, pestiños, sweet fritters, crackling cake and other typical food.

INTRODUCTION ORIGIN This festivity has its origin when the population of Rosalejo wanted to become independent from Talayuela’s town council. The process began in 1993, when the Mayor sent the independence proceedings to Madrid, seeking its approval, but it was denied because Rosalejo’s population was under 2000 people. However, the people continued to fight for independence, and in December of the same year, a committee went to Madrid to meet the Council’s President. Afterwards, on March 1, 1994, at 12h, the Institutional Act of independence took place at Rosalejo's Main Square.
Independence Day is celebrated on March 1. On this festivity, the people of the town go to church and then attend an institutional act in which the people of the town council give a speech remembering that day and thanking the population that fought to achieve the Independence of Rosalejo.
GASTRONOMY During the festivities, typical sweets are usually eaten, such as floretas. This sweet is shaped like a flower thanks to the iron mold in which we fry it.
RECOMMENDATION ACTIVITIES The townspeople celebrate this day in the town square, where typical sweets are distributed in the morning.
ACT OF INDEPENDENCE
Later at night, people go to an open-air dance to have a good time with their friends. OPEN-AIR DANCE
Nowadays, people of this town remember that day with pride because they got what they wanted: Independence. That’s why this holiday is still celebrated today, because the people fought so that the town could be independent and after many efforts they achieved it. It's a celebration that everyone should attend because it commemorates a very important day in the history of Rosalejo and because you will surely have a d time. good

INTRODUCTION When this place was invaded by the French, most of the dead bodies were abandoned in the countryside, what gave rise to the propagation of the plague. The tradition started when facing this catastrophe the people started doing a procession with the Christ of the Forgiveness on 1st March 1814. While the Christ was being strolled, an ill man went out wrapped in a bedsheet, and in the face of the image, he healed, ceasing the deadly epidemic. According to legend, this night the things of the dead people were reunited and burned in the square.
ORIGIN “The Angel of Valdehúncar” is a festivity celebrated in Valdehúncar, Cáceres. It is a product of the pandemics, and illnesses of the Independence War in 1808. This holiday takes place on the 1st March or the first Sunday in the month.

ORIGIN
The pilgrimage is celebrated In Castañar de Ibor, approximately the 14th of May. It’s a day when the townspeople go to La Avellaneda, a small town where the inhabitants of Castañar lived many years ago. There, the "quintos" put a bar on a large ship and all the people enjoy a nice and religious picnic day.
Due to a plague of termites, the inhabitants had to leave La Avellaneda and created Castañar de Ibor 9km away. Because of that, once a year the whole town goes back there. For this town and for this tradition, the Christ of Castañar de Ibor is called The Christ of La Avellaneda.
ACTIVITIES First at 9:00 in the morning, the assistants meet in the Plaza de España, at the door of the Church, to prepare the truck where the Christ will be carried to be taken him to his former abode.Once the Christ is loaded into the vehicle, already adorned with flowers, fabrics and other objects, they go to La Avellaneda followed by a large caravan of cars. When he arrives at La Avellaneda, the townspeople put him in the church and celebrate a great mass. Then all the people go to the bar and they spend all day eating and drinking. Finally at 9:00 p.m the Christ returns to the village, but the inhabitants stay there until 3:00 a.m
GASTRONOMY The typical food in the pilgrimage are migas, potato omelette, meat, blood sausage, wine and beer.
