16. Why is the cork oak important for the economy in the area? Because it produces cork, which can be used to make a lot of things in a sustainable way. It also gives oaks that feed the animals. It generates lots of jobs and it is very important for the economy of the area. 17.

What kind of rocks can you find in Monfragüe? You can find quartzite and slate.

Where does the black stork nest? It nests in high rocks(mountains) and trees.

20. Write a few words (at least 100) to describe this experience: I really liked the excursion because it was very different and the activities were very diverse. I especially enjoyed the treasure hunting and the time we spent together before going to bed. It was a pity than we could not see too many animals, but the ones we saw were amazing: the big griffon vultures and black storks, the dung beetle and, my favorite, the bosca’s newts that were not scared of us and kept swimming and doing newt’s things. 7

The walks were relaxing and we got to talk and sing and dance and do weird stuff in very good company. 21.

A National park is a park in use for conservation purposes, as it is representative of its natural system. - How many parks (Natural and National) are there in your region? National parks =1 Monfragüe Natural parks =2 Cornalvo and Tajo international - What can we do to prevent more species from being endangered?  Know what species are endangered in the area.  Volunteer time to protect the wildlife in the area.  Plant native flora.

 Do not use toxic herbicides or pesticides.  Watch the road and drive carefully.  Recycle and buy recycled or reusable products.  Do not purchase illegal products that come from endangered species.  Support and donate to wildlife parks and organizations that are working to help endangered species.  Get active and spread the word.  Reduce the amount of pollution that we cause.  Do not purchase products from companies that are known polluters.  Join a conservation organization.  Consume less. - What are the good and bad aspects of preservation areas? The good aspects are the protection of the plants and animals, the sustainable exploitation of natural resources and the creation of spaces that teach people to care for the environment. The bad aspects are you can´t enter or walk freely in these areas and that sometimes they are in conflict 9

with the economy of the people that have been living in the area for many generations.
