Oggi, più che mai, gli operatori del settore turistico ricettivo avvertono la necessità di migliorare e riqualificare l'offerta dei servizi resi, adeguandola alle aspettative ed ai comportamenti della clientela italiana e straniera, con l'obiettivo di far orientare la sua preferenza verso quelle aree geografiche in grado di garantire i migliori standard qualitativi.

Today, more than ever before, operators in the tourist accommodations sector feel the need to improve and upgrade the offer of services provided, matching them to the expectations and behaviour of Italian and foreign clientele, with the objective of directing their preferences to those geographic areas able to guarantee the best qualitative standards.

The voluntary quality brands, in this context, represent a major tool for the promotion of those facilities which are able to pay proper attention to the care of clients, both as to dinner service and to the ambient and reception services, even in their smallest details.

La Camera di Commercio di Brescia già da alcuni anni promuove attraverso il “marchio Ospitalità Italiana” gli alberghi, i ristoranti e gli agriturismi del territorio provinciale che si sono dati questi obiettivi, al fine di favorirne la crescita in termini di standard qualitativi e, nel contempo, di offrire a coloro che li utilizzano vantaggi in termini di garanzia di qualità e facilità di scelta.

The Chamber of Commerce of Brescia has, for some years, through the "Italian Hospitality brand," promoted hotels, restaurants and farm tourism of the province who have met these objectives, in order to foster growth in terms of qualitative standards and, at the same time, to offer to those who use them advantages in terms of quality assurance and facility of choice.

Con la Guida all'Ospitalità della provincia di Brescia, realizzata in collaborazione con ISNART, si intende presentare ad un pubblico attento ed esigente la straordinaria proposta turistica del nostro territorio, ricco di risorse paesaggistiche e storico/culturali, dotato di moderne attrezzature sportive, di svago e divertimento e, soprattutto, di strutture ricettive in grado di offrire servizi di accoglienza di assoluto livello internazionale.

With the Hospitality Guide of the Province of Brescia, made in collaboration with ISNART, we intend to present to an attentive and demanding public an extraordinary tourist offer covering our territory, rich in landscape and historical/cultural resources, equipped with modern sport facilities, for leisure and recreation and, especially, with accommodation facilities able to offer reception services absolutely of an international level.

einleitung Heute, so wie noch nie, haben die Unternehmer im Touristikbereich, die Notwendigkeit gesehen, das Angebot der Dienstleistungen zu verbessern und neu zu qualifizieren. Die Unternehmer versuchen nun, das Angebot der Dienstleistungen für die italienischen, sowie auch die ausländischen Kunden anzugleichen und mit der Zielsetzung, den Präferenzrahmen in die geographischen Bereiche zu lenken, denen es möglich ist, die besten, qualitativen Standards zu garantieren. Die freiwillige Qualitätsmarke stellt, in diesem Zusammenhang, eines der wichtigsten Mittel für die Aufwertung jener Strukturen dar, denen es möglich ist dem Kunden die wohlverdiente Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken und das kleinste Detail, angefangen vom Service bis hin zum Empfang und dem Ambiente, zu pflegen.

Brescia sorge in una zona pianeggiante, protetta a Nord dalle colline, alla confluenza di tre valli: la Valle Camonica, la Valle Trompia e la Valle Sabbia. Il capoluogo è circondato da una vasta provincia che si estende dal Lago d'Iseo con le colline della Franciacorta, al Lago di Garda e dalla bassa pianura fino al passo del Tonale, al confine con il Trentino. La città è custode di un ricco patrimonio di storia ed arte che abbraccia un lungo arco di tempo: le sue origini possono essere rintracciate nell'età del Bronzo, quando una tribù Celtico-Ligure si installò sul colle Cidneo, ma la sua importanza si manifestò nel momento in cui divenne capoluogo dei Cenomani, intorno al IV-V secolo a.C.. Nel II secolo a.C. i Romani vennero a contatto con la popolazione locale e nel 49 a.C., con Giulio Cesare, Brescia ottenne la cittadinanza romana. I resti dell'antica Brixia si trovano nella vasta area archeologica che si estende ai piedi del colle Cidneo e che comprende il Capitolium (Tempio Capitolino) eretto per volontà dell'imperatore Vespasiano, il Forum (la grande piazza del foro) ed il Teatro, imponente costruzione ora in via di recupero. L'intera area, dal giugno 2011, è stata iscritta nella lista del Patrimonio Mondiale dell'UNESCO nell'ambito del progetto “Italia Langobardorum:Centri di

Brescia is located in an area of level terrain, protected to the north by hills, at the confluence of three valleys: Valle Camonica, Valle Trompia and Valle Sabbia. The capital is surrounded by a vast province that stretches from Lake Iseo with the Franciacorta hills, from Lake Garda and the lowlands to the Tonale Pass, and to the border with Trentino. The city is the custodian of a wealth of history and art that spans an extended period of time: its origins can be traced back to the Bronze Age, when a Celtic-Ligurian tribe settled on the Cidneo hills, but its importance was demonstrated when it became the capital of Cenomani, around the fourth and fifth centuries BC. In the second century BC, the Romans came into contact with the local population, and in 49 BC, with Julius Caesar, Brescia became part of the Roman empire. The remains of ancient Brixia are to be found in the vast archaeological park at the foot of the Cidneo hills and include Capitolium (Capitoline Temple) erected on the wishes of Emperor Vespasian, the Forum (the vast forum square) and the Theatre, an imposing building presently being restored. Since June 2011 the whole area is inscribed in the World Heritage List, in range of the project “Italia Langobardarum: Power and cult centers 568774 A.C.). To the same project also belongs the “monastic complex of San Salvatore e Santa Giulia”, founded by the Lombard King Desderio, which houses in the Museo della Città that is situated in the ancient monastic complex founded by the Lombard king Desiderius and dedicated to San Salvatore and Santa Giulia. The building is articulated around cloisters and churches of different eras: the Lombard Church of San Salvatore, the Coro delle Monache [Nun’s Choir](mid-fifteenth century) entirely frescoed by various artists including Floriano Ferramola and Paolo da Caylina the Younger; Santa Maria in Solarium (second half of the twelfth century) which houses the famous Croce di Desiderio [Cross of Desire] and the Church of Santa Giulia, now used as conference centre. The expository journey is witness to the history of the Brescian community, from prehistoric to Venetian. The section devoted to Roman times exhibits highly valued items, such as the portraits of emperors in gilded bronze and the famous statue of Vittoria Alata [Winged Victory] which became the symbol of the city, interesting funerary and the important remains of the dome of Ortaglia (by the rich wall and paving decorations). The Late Middle Ages section reminds us of the presence in Brescia of the Lombards and Franks. The Pinacoteca civica [City Picture Gallery], Tosio-Martinengo, temporarily closed for maintenance and restoration, tells the story of Brescian art from the fourteenth to eighteenth centuries. Il percorso espositivo testimonia la storia della comunità bresciana, dalla Preistoria all’età Veneta. La sezione dedicata all’età Romana espone pezzi di grande valore, come i ritratti di imperatori in bronzo dorato e la celebre statua della Vittoria Alata diventata simbolo della città, interessanti corredi funerari e gli importantissimi resti delle domus dell’Ortaglia (dalle ricche decorazioni parietali e pavimentali). La sezione altomedievale ricorda la presenza a Brescia dei Longobardi e dei Franchi. La Pinacoteca civica Tosio-Martinengo, provvisoriamente chiusa al pubblico per lavori di manutenzione e restauro, racconta la storia dell’arte bresciana dal Trecento al Settecento. Ampio spazio è dedicato ai capolavori della grande stagione del Rinascimento, da Foppa a Romanino, Moretto e Savoldo; largamente rappresentate sono anche l’età della Maniera e l’opera di Giacomo Ceruti il Pitocchetto, ma non manca qualche opera di Raffaello, Solario, Lotto. Rilevante è anche la sezione grafica che documenta la storia dell’incisione europea dal Quattrocento ai nostri giorni. Sul colle Cidneo sorge quello che viene chiamato Castello, uno dei più grandi complessi fortificati del Nord Italia, con torri, baluardi, cortili, edifici, ponti levatoi e sotterranei costruiti in epoche diverse. Attorno al nucleo medievale, composto dalla Torre della Mirabella, dal possente Mastio Visconteo e dal ponte levatoio, i Veneziani costruirono le torri circolari e gli imponenti bastioni. Attualmente il Castello, adibito a parco pubblico e circondato da giardini, ospita il Museo delle armi antiche Luigi Marzoli e il Museo del Risorgimento. Nel Medioevo il centro civile e religioso della città si spostò dal Foro nella piazza oggi intitolata al Papa bresciano Paolo VI, chiamata anche Piazza Duomo. Corso Zanardelli dove ha sede anche il Teatro Grande, tempio della cultura musicale cittadina; la zona, oggi, con i numerosi negozi, boutiques e caffè è il luogo più esclusivo di passeggio e di shopping del centro cittadino. Along the road from Lonato down to the lake you can visit the Benedictine Abbey of Maguzzano, documented from the tenth century. The Valtenesi, land of vineyards and olive groves, is a beautiful, hilly area that slopes down toward the lake. This includes seven municipalities dominated by castles and fortresses with ancient Romanesque and Gothic churches: Padenghe, Moniga, Manerba and San Felice del Benaco, known for its beaches and campgrounds, Puegnago and Polpenazze, which annually host major fairs and festivals, and finally Soiano. Salò, an elegant city, nestles in the gulf of the same name; the mild climate, Mediterranean vegetation, the landscape views and the rich historical and artistic heritage (palaces, the beautiful Gothic Cathedral and the different museums) make it an important and popular resort. Gardone Riviera, with its villas and luxury hotels, has been an international tourist destination since the nineteenth century. In the lower part of the town there are the classical Villa Alba, in the middle of a large park, the Hruska botanical gardens and the tower of San Marco. In upper Gardone, next to the eighteenth century parish church of San Nicola, there is the entry of Vittoriale: the house-museum of Gabriele D'Annunzio, today the seat of the Foundation of the same name. The buildings, the last home of the poet, are immersed in a large park with beautiful views of the lake. Nearby, in Fasano, the Museo del Divino Infante, exhibits a heritage of over two hundred and fifty sculptures from various periods, depicting the Christ Child, the most unusual and richest collection is the only one existing in the world. Toscolano Maderno is a municipality formed by two centres: Maderno, whose romantic harbour is overlooked by various hotels, the Romanesque Church of Sant’Andrea and the eighteenth century Parish, and Toscolano, the ancient Benacum, which boasts the remains of a villa dating back to Roman times, the Parish, with large paintings by Andrea Celesti, and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Benaco. In the nearby and picturesque Valle delle Cartiere, you can visit the Museo della Carta [Paper Museum], because paper has been produced in this region since the fourteenth century. The Gargnano area, popular with yachtsmen, is home to major dwellings: the Villa Feltrinelli, where Mussolini lived during the Republic of Salò, Palazzo Feltrinelli, and at Bogliaco, the Villa Bettoni with its picturesque gardens. From Gargnano, a panoramic road takes you to Valvestino, a very interesting place from a naturalist’s point of view and located within the Natural Park of Upper Garda. LAKE ISEO This beautiful lake stretches north for 25 Km from the Franciacorta to the Valle Camonica. It is the place for nature lovers; the atmosphere is relaxing thanks to the green mountains that surround it, the wooden boats of the fishermen and the presence of numerous water birds in the ports, amongst the reeds and along the coast. The medieval old town of Iseo is full of shops, trendy bars, traditional restaurants, but also to important monuments like the Parish of Santâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;Andrea from the twelfth century and the Castle Oldofredi from the 11th. At the gates to Iseo, along the southern slopes of the lake, the Torbiere, the peat bogs, a naturalist oasis unique of its kind, is worth a visit. The Nature Reserve of the Lombardy Region is a wetland area from which peat was extracted and used for fuel in the past. Today they are the ideal habitat for different species of aquatic birds (herons, cormorants, spoonbills and black kites) and lake plants.

Alle porte di Iseo, nel versante meridionale del lago, meritano una visita le Torbiere, oasi naturalistica unica nel suo genere in Europa. Riserva naturale della Regione Lombardia è una zona paludosa da cui anticamente si ricavava la torba, usata come combustibile. Oggi sono l’habitat ideale per differenti specie di uccelli acquatici (airone, cormorano, mestolone e nibbio bruno) e piante lacustri. Monte Isola, che si innalza fino a 600 metri di altitudine all’interno del lago, si raggiunge facilmente prendendo il traghetto da Sulzano, Sale Marasino o Iseo. I suoi pittoreschi villaggi hanno mantenuto intatto l'originario aspetto, con stretti vicoli, case con portali e loggiati in pietra e piccoli giardini. Sulla sommità del monte sorge il Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola, mentre a Menzino si vede la rinascimentale Rocca Oldofredi-Martinengo. Nell'entroterra del lago, a Zone, si assiste ad uno dei fenomeni naturali più spettacolari d’Europa, le piramidi di terra modellate dall’erosione delle acque. Pisogne è la porta della Vallecamonica e luogo di confine tra il lago a la montagna. Il paese, di antiche origini, ha importanti monumenti tra cui la Chiesa di Santa Maria della Neve con lo spettacolare ciclo di affreschi del Romanino.

Monte Isola, which rises up to 600 meters above sea level over the lake is easily reached by ferry from Sulzano Marasino or Iseo. Its picturesque villages have kept intact their original appearance, with narrow alleys and houses with stone loggias and small gardens. On top of the mountain is the Sanctuary of Madonna della Ceriola, while at Menzino you can see the Renaissance Oldofredi-Martinengo fortress. In the lake’s hinterland, at Zone you can see one of Europe's most spectacular natural phenomena, the pyramids of land shaped by water erosion. Pisogne is the gateway to Valle Camonica and the place where the lake borders the mountain. The town, of ancient origins, has important monuments, among which the Church of Santa Maria della Neve with the spectacular Rumanian frescoes.

FRANCIACORTA Renowned area of fine wine production, from the edge of Brescia down to the banks of Lake Iseo, Franciacorta appears to the visitor as a vast expanse of geometric lines that run along the hills, softened by the outlines of old castles, monasteries and aristocratic villas. Grapevines have been cultivated here since Roman times. Heirs of this ancient tradition, the winemakers now produce high quality wines, among which the effervescent “Franciacorta”, the king of sparkling wines in Italy, stands out. The area offers high level tourist accommodation, prestigious restaurants and spas, but also places of historical and artistic interest. At Rodengo Saiano you can visit the Abbazia di San Nicola, articulated around three large cloisters full of works by major artists of the sixteenth and seventeenth century Brescia. The Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa, at Provaglio Iseo, in a panoramic position over the peat bogs, is from the eleventh-century.

Da Pian Camuno si può raggiungere la località turistica di Monte Campione, modernamente progettata e attrezzata per lo sci invernale. Darfo Boario Terme, noto per le benefiche acque termali, è anche rinomato centro congressuale. Nell'Archeopark, un grande museo archeologico all’aperto, sono stati ricostruiti gli insediamenti dell’antico popolo Camuno. Nei pressi di Angolo Terme, a pochi chilometri dal grande parco termale, vi è il piccolo lago Moro, luogo incantevole per chi desidera effettuare escursioni a cavallo, affittare una barca e pescare nelle sue limpide acque. Esine custodisce la quattrocentesca Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, decorata con uno dei più interessanti cicli di affreschi di Pietro Da Cemmo. Altre opere del medesimo artista sono presenti anche nel Santuario dell’Annunciata, nei pressi di Borno, turistico borgo al centro di un’ampia conca soleggiata. Sul versante opposto della valle, a Cerveno, ai piedi della Concarena, si può visitare uno dei più significativi esempi di arte e fede popolare dell’arco alpino, le cappelle della Via Crucis: circa duecento statue della metà XVIII secolo, a grandezza naturale, che narrano le tappe della passione di Cristo. Al centro della valle si trova Capo di Ponte, con la più alta concentrazione di incisioni rupestri lasciate dall'antico popolo Camuno e tutelate dall’Unesco come patrimonio dell’umanità. Il Parco Nazionale delle Incisioni Rupestri di Capo di Ponte comprende un centinaio di rocce istoriate (famosi i “due massi” di Cemmo) con circa trentamila figure, databili dal neolitico fino all’età del ferro, che raccontano la storia di queste terre e del popolo Camuno. Poco lontano, la Pieve di San Siro e il Monastero di San Salvatore costituiscono i più interessanti esempi di architettura romanica della valle. In the upper valley, Edolo is a popular tourist resort and an ideal starting point for excursions along the river Oglio or nearby mountains. In the territory of Corteno Golgi you can find the beautiful nature reserve of the Valleys of S. Antonio, noted for its rich fauna. Vezza d'Oglio and Temù are two typical towns frequented by hikers in summer and skiers in winter. From Vezza you can get to the Val Paghera and the Val Grande. There are several museums in the area, such as ethnographic museum of Vione and that of the White War in Temù. Continuing on, you get to Ponte di Legno, an elegant summer and winter resort. The surrounding area is to be seen: Case di Viso, Pezzo, Canè, as well as the Montozzo, Avio and Aviolo lakes. The Passo del Tonale encloses the Valle Camonica at 1,884 mt above sea level, marking the border with Val di Sole in the province of Trento. Steps to recover this huge historical and cultural heritage have been taken by creating a museum and games area around it called La Via del ferro e delle miniere, star ting from the Tavernole furnace, continuing on to Pezzaze and Collio, where you can find respectively, the Miniera Stese and Miniera Tassara San'Aloisio, both open to the public, and ending ideally in Lodrino in the Ethnographic Museum. At Tavernole, the fifteenth century Church of St. Filastrio is considered the most important religious building in the valley.

VALLE SABBIA AND LAGO D'IDRO Criss-crossed by the Chiese River and wholly mountainous, the valley extends towards the Trentino. Gavardo has a quaint centre with old houses that overlook the Chiese River. To visit is the archaeological museum that contains impor tant vestiges of the past in these areas and nearby Lake Garda. For centuries the valley was enlivened by the art of carving which skilled craftsmen have handed down from father to son. The most famous dynasty is that of the Pialorsi di Levrange, known as the "Boscaì" which, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries, left their masterpieces in the Parishes of Idro, Bione, Livemmo, Casto and Bagolino. Lago d’Idro, or Eridio, at 370mt. above sea level, is the highest in Lombardy and combines the charm of the mountain with that of a lake mirrors. Its basin, of a narrow and elongated shape, opens into the Chiese River, marking the upper limit of the Valle Sabbia. The waters are deep, the banks are sometimes rocky and sometimes small, gently sloping beaches. Equipped for every kind of sport, it is ideal for sailing and windsurfing. There are campsites and resorts on its banks, alternating with typical villages with excellent accommodation facilities.At Idro, the Parish of San Michele and the Church of Santa Maria at Undas are worth a visit. Anfo, located along the left bank of the lake, is also known for the Rocca, an extraordinary fifteenth century military compound, which, rebuilt several times and abandoned for a while, is today open to the public. Bagolino, in the valley of the river Caffaro and in the center of a basin about 800 meters above sea level, is one of the most characteristic of the area, a resort for both winter and summer holidays (starting point for the ski resorts of Gaver and Maniva and for beautiful hikes). A Idro meritano una visita la Parrocchiale di San Michele e la Pieve di Santa Maria ad Undas. Anfo, situato lungo la riva sinistra del lago, è noto anche per la Rocca, uno straordinario complesso militare quattrocentesco, più volte ricostruito che, oggi, dopo un periodo di abbandono è stato aperto al pubblico. Bagolino, nella valle del torrente Caffaro e al centro di un’ampia conca a circa 800 mt. di altitudine, è uno dei paesi più caratteristici della zona, centro di villeggiatura sia estiva sia invernale (punto di partenza per gli impianti sciistici del Gaver e del Maniva e di belle escursioni). L’abitato ha conservato quasi integralmente l’antica struttura urbana con vecchie case in pietra e balconi ornati di ferro battuto. Nelle chiese di San Rocco e nella parrocchiale di San Giorgio si trovano notevoli opere d'arte. Infine, il confine con il Trentino è segnato dalla bella piana coltivata di Ponte Caffaro le cui spiagge segnano la riva settentrionale del lago.

Numerose le Parrocchiali che contengono preziose opere d'arte, come quella di San Biagio a Milzano, Sant’ Andrea a Pralboino, San Lorenzo a Verolanuova (con tele di Gian Battista Tiepolo), o la Chiesa romanica di Santa Maria in Comelia nelle campagne di Seniga. A Montichiari si possono visitare il Castello Bonoris, costruito in stile neogotico nel XIX secolo sui resti di un’ antica rocca medievale, l’imponente Chiesa Parrocchiale e la Pieve di San Pancrazio, di epoca romanica e in ottima posizione panoramica.Nella parte occidentale della pianura si trova l’importante cittadina di Chiari. Di grande interesse sono la Pinacoteca Repossi e la celebre Biblioteca Morcelliana.Anche in pianura si trovano aree molto interessanti dal punto di vista naturalistico, ideali per passeggiate a piedi e in bicicletta. Tra queste il Parco dell’Oglio che si estende da Palazzolo a Pontevico, lungo il corso dell'omonimo fiume, con aree paludose ricche di flora e fauna sempre più rare.

Grazie alle caratteristiche morfologiche del territorio e alla presenza di laghi, fiumi, montagne e parchi naturali, la provincia bresciana presenta una miriade di occasioni di svago e divertimento all’aria aperta. Tra le vette dell'Adamello e il Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, il comprensorio sciistico Adamello Sky propone agli appassionati ottanta km di piste. La Valle Camonica, infatti, è una fra le più importanti aree sciabili dell’intero arco alpino italiano e il ghiacciaio Presena è praticabile anche in estate. Altre località sciistiche sono quelle di Alpiaz Montecampione e Borno nella media Valle Camonica, il Gaver in Valle Sabbia, il Monte Maniva e l’Alpe del Pezzeda in Valle Trompia. Gli amanti del golf possono trovare, a pochi chilometri dalla città, i green di Arzaga, Chervò Golf San Viglio, Gardagolf e Golf di Bogliaco sul Lago di Garda. Un altro importante circuito è quello di Franciacorta, immerso fra vigneti e prestigiosi relais, ma sono a disposizione anche campi scuola e campi pratica in vari punti della Provincia. I laghi di Garda, Iseo e Idro sono l’autentico paradiso per chi adora gli sport velici, mentre sui fiumi Mella e Chiese e sui torrenti di montagna è possibile praticare il rafting, il canyoning, la canoa e il kaiak.

On the occasion, Brescia welcomes three hundred teams from around the world, competing with classic cars built between 1927 and 1957. To the history of the Millemiglia an eponymous museum was also dedicated, at the ancient Monastery of St. Eufemia. In the summer months, the Biennale Internazionale di Fotografia [International Biennial of Photography] helps us to discover the city, moving between its ancient alleyways and courtyards that, on occasion, become venues for the exhibition of original works of the masters. Il Festival del Franciacorta, rassegna delle migliori bollicine bresciane, si tiene a Erbusco nella seconda decade di ottobre. La Settimana della tinca al forno, festa dedicata al rinomato pesce del lago d'Iseo, si svolge a Clusane nel mese di luglio e coinvolge tutti i ristoranti della zona, mentre a Sale Marasino a settembre si tiene Sale in zucca. Agli inizi di settembre la Fiera di Puegnago è dedicata al locale vino groppello, mentre a Moniga del Garda, nel corso della Fiera del Chiaretto, viene nominato il migliore tra i chiaretti prodotti dalle locali cantine. A Polpenazze del Garda, a fine maggio, si svolge la Fiera del Vino DOC Garda Classico. Simpatiche sagre paesane, sono la Rassegna del Botticino e la Festa dell'uva, che si tengono a settembre a Botticino e Capriano del Colle. In early September, the Fiera di Puegnago is dedicated to the local groppello wine, while at Moniga del Garda, during the Fiera del Chiaretto, the best among the light reds produced by local wineries is named. At Polpenazze del Garda, in late May, there is the Fiera del Vino DOC Garda Classico. Congenial village festivals, are the Rassegna del Botticino and the Festa dell'uva [Grape Festival], held in September and in Botticino and Capriano del Colle.
