26 Turkish textile firms attended Première Vision New York Turkish textile companies made an excellent show in America
Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) organized Turkish national participation for the 15th time in Première Vision New York fair where global textile and fashion manufacturers meet. A total of 26 Turkish textile companies of which 23 are UTIB members, attended the show which was realized on 16-17 July 2019.

Attending the fair, Pınar Taşdelen Engin, Chairwoman of the Board of UTIB, said that the fair has become a venue to show the union of forces of Turkish exhibitors as every year. She stressed that the Turkish textile and apparel industry was the strongest sector of the country, Engin detailed, “Turkish textile and apparel industry has come to a position not to compete in cost-competition category countries but compete with countries which have high investment budgets for R&D, innovation, design and high-tech.” Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) organized Turkish national participation in 39th Première Vision New York fair for the 15th time. Bursa-based companies which participated in Première Vision New York fair, one of the most leading textile fairs of America, showed the powerful image of Turkey in the global market, 16- 17 July 2019. A total of 26 Turkish textile companies of which 23 are UTIB members, displayed a lot of products and product groups from fabric to accessory, from leather to
ready-made products and design products at the fair. The fair attracted visitors, exhibitors and buyers from around the world where top officials of global
fashion brands and UTIB member companies held bilateral discussions. Bringing global leaders of the textile industry together with fashion professionals, the fair has a key role in setting the 2019-2020 autumn/ winter season trends.
“Turkish textile is leading in production, design and exports” Attending the fair, Pınar Taşdelen Engin, Chairwoman of the Board of UTIB, said that the fair has become a venue to show the union of forces of Turkish exhibitors as every year. Engin explained further, “Constituting one of the most important competition advantages of the Turkish economy, the Turkish textile industry has been keeping its leading position in production, design and exports. Italy takes the top of the list of our exports and Germany and the USA follow it. This fair is important for us to continue our exports and for our sector which is in pursuit of new markets.”
“Turkish textile has reached to an important position with R&D and innovation” Pointing out that the Turkish textile and ready-made garment sector is among top-ten in terms of production, Engin analyzed further, “Turkish textile and apparel industry has come to a position not to compete in cost-competition category countries but compete with countries which have high investment budgets for R&D, innovation, design and high-tech. Our industry successfully exports to markets such as EU and USA where there is a harsh competition. We maintain our success and assertion to be among the largest textile manufacturers of Europe. Besides, we have necessary knowledge and experience in technical textiles which are preferred in many areas requiring high-tech from defense technologies to wind energy for being enduring
and light. We will improve our work and activities in this field and increase the share of Turkey in the textile industry. We will continue with important progresses in design, fashion and technical textiles.”

We witness this fact at Turkish textile fairs as well. Our fairs attract interest of industry professionals coming from around the world. For this reason a great sum of trade is generated at the textile fairs organized in our country.”
