MY LIBRARY newsletter

We're moving! See page 3.

Director's Column In November, our architectural team presented the final design renderings of the the library’s renovation project to the board of trustees. This moves us one step closer to putting the first shovel in the ground and turning several years of planning into reality. As we move forward with this project I’d like to remind you of the many ways to stay informed about the renovation project.

Art Exhibits January

Art Exhibit by Kathy Kathrein Kathy Kathrein’s oil paintings portray nature against the backdrop of Chicago architecture. She composes her subject and captures extreme detail through digital photography.

Library Displays In December we began displaying design drawings of the proposed building in the vestibule of the library. At that time we removed our literature holders, as the main focus of our work turns toward preparing for renovation. Renderings of the proposed exterior and interior will also be mounted upstairs near the adult services desk. Online All information about the renovation can be found online at www.itpld.org/renovation. You can also link to the site by clicking on the renovation logo. On this website you will find all press releases, drawings, FAQs and other information about the renovation. Newsletter and Enews Each issue of the library’s print newsletter, mailed to every resident and business within the district, will include updates on the project. I also encourage you to sign up for the library’s enews, sent once a month, for the latest information. You can sign up for the enews on the library’s home page.

February

“Shades of Tranquility” Art Exhibit by Susan Ciccone Susan Ciccone's artwork includes fabric art, acrylics, Sumi (an oriental wash painting, typically using ink) and oils.

Staff Our staff are here to answer your questions. Please don’t hesitate to call or ask them in person if you have any questions about the renovation. You can also contact Susan Dennison, communications manager, at 847.279.2222 or sdennison@itpld.org. We are excited for the opportunities the renovation will offer our community and look forward to bringing you an exceptional library with improved services.

4. What if I want a book or movie that is not available? Interlibrary loan is always available to request material not available on the shelves.

2. Will materials be due during the weeks you are closed? Materials will not be due during the two-week closing, although materials may be returned to the library’s drop boxes in the community.

5. What will happen with items on hold during the time the library is closed? Held items will be available for pickup for seven days after the opening of the temporary location.
