Introduction
Goa, the tiniest state on the western coast of India, boasts golden pristine beaches, palmfringed avenues, flavourful food, delicious Portuguese-influenced sweets, and warm, hospitable people. Also known as the Ibiza of India for its partying. A tropical paradise of flora and fauna, from the very famous 'almi' (mushrooms) endemic to its forests, that grow only on the red mud anthills, to the solar prawns that are fished immediately after the monsoons, Goa is unique. Tourists are also attracted to Goa for its cultural heritage - from the famous old Portuguese churches like Se Cathedral in Old Goa, the 16th Century Safa Masjid in Ponda and Shree Mangesha Temple in Mardol, the legendary Arvalem or Pandava Caves where the Pandavas of the Mahabharat fame lived, to its two unique festivalsCarnival and Shigmo. Goa plays host to many festivals - the International Film Festival of India that promotes cinema, the Serendipity Art Festival, Sunburn Music Festival, The Grape Escapade to name a few. To showcase this varied heritage of culture, art, tradition, food, and people, in 2015 ItsGoa was born. The main aim was to make it the premier portal for all things Goa. We were able to showcase Goa like never before. Soon our blog-based website transcended the virtual space, with the ItsGoa magazine – a sought-after resource for visitors to Goa from countries like Norway, Germany, UK, USA, UAE, etc.

Sneja Naik, a 25-year-old from Colvale, Goa, embodies the spirit of perseverance and passion. With a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from DMC College, Assagao, Sneja has led a life full of diverse pursuits, from modeling to sports and beyond. Over the last nine years, she has built a strong presence in the fashion industry while simultaneously excelling in sports such as hockey and kabaddi.
When she's not strutting down the runway or showcasing her modeling talent, Sneja enjoys reading, cooking, and riding sports bikes. These hobbies, along with her athletic background, reflect her dynamic and adventurous personality. Through this article, we’ll dive deeper into her journey, the
milestones that shaped her career, and the driving forces behind her passions.
The Spark of Fashion: How It All Began
Sneja’s journey into the world of modeling started with a childhood dream. As a young girl, she was captivated by the glamorous world of fashion, often mimicking the latest trends seen on TV. This early fascination with fashion soon turned into a burning desire to be part of it. Wearing high heels was a childhood wish, and that dream evolved into a goal to one day become a runway model.
Her passion for modeling grew stronger as she became more determined to carve her own path in the industry. Despite no initial exposure or connections, her drive and dedication led her to pursue a career in fashion, culminating in her impressive journey over the past nine years.
Key Milestones: Achievements That Shaped Her Career
For Sneja, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Representing Goa on the international stage not once, but twice, is one of the proudest moments of her career. These experiences not only elevated her profile but also gave her the opportunity to work with top-tier designers and international brands, further solidifying her place in the fashion industry.
In addition to these accomplishments, Sneja had the privilege of training under the guidance of Miss Earth 2020, Tanvi Kharote. This mentorship helped her refine her skills, positioning her as a formidable force in the modeling world. Her hard work paid off when she won the batch of November in 2023, a significant milestone that gave her career a fresh boost.
Sneja has also graced several TVC ads, serials, and movies, a testament to her versatility and dedication. Her upcoming movie, "Just Married," is a significant project that Sneja is eagerly awaiting. Filmed in Bangalore, this movie will soon hit theaters, marking yet another major achievement in her multifaceted career.

Sneja’s personal style is a reflection of her everevolving journey. Rather than looking up to a specific fashion icon, she draws inspiration from the fashion world itself. Creating her unique personality, she curates looks and styles that embody who she is— confident, bold, and unapologetically herself. For Sneja, fashion is not just about trends; it’s about expressing oneself through clothing, body language, and attitude. This approach has made her stand out in a crowded industry and has allowed her to leave a lasting impression wherever she goes.
What Sets Sneja Apart: Height, Confidence, and Uniqueness
In the fashion industry, uniqueness is key, and Sneja believes that her height and confidence are the factors that set her apart from other models. The runway is where she truly shines, and her commanding presence and self-assurance have captured the attention of many in the industry. Each model has their own distinct qualities, but Sneja’s towering height and ability to own any runway show set her apart. Her confidence in presenting herself is one of the strongest elements that have propelled her to success.

The Changing Landscape of Fashion: Embracing Diversity and Sustainability
The fashion industry is evolving, and Sneja is excited about the changes taking place. The rise of technology, increased diversity, and the growing focus on sustainability are trends that she is particularly enthusiastic about. These changes are reshaping the industry in ways that were unimaginable a few years ago, making fashion more inclusive and environmentally conscious. Sneja, who has seen the industry’s evolution firsthand, is optimistic about how these trends will create new opportunities for models and designers alike.
Staying Informed: Keeping Up with Fashion Trends
In the fast-paced world of fashion, staying updated with the latest trends is crucial. Sneja keeps herself informed through a variety of channels, including official fashion websites, Instagram, and Facebook. Over the years, she has also cultivated valuable connections within the industry, which helps her stay ahead of the curve. Whether it's discovering the next big designer or learning about cutting-edge technologies in fashion, Sneja makes sure to stay on top of her game.

Maintaining Well-Being: A Balanced Approach to Fitness and Mental Strength
Modeling is a physically demanding career, and Sneja is well aware of the importance of staying in top form. Regular grooming, following a disciplined diet, and keeping physically fit are part of her daily routine. However, being a model is not just about physical appearance; mental strength plays a key role as well. Sneja practices self-care and focuses on maintaining a positive mindset to face the challenges that come her way. Her holistic approach to fitness, both physical and mental, has been essential in her career longevity.
One of Sneja’s Favorite Projects: The Movie "Just Married"
While Sneja has worked on numerous projects, one that stands out is her involvement in the movie project "Just Married." The project, filmed in Bangalore, was a transformative experience for Sneja. It taught her a great deal about herself and the industry, and she believes that putting in her best effort results in the best outcomes. The lessons she learned during this time have left a lasting impact on her career, making this project one of her most cherished experiences.
Advice for Aspiring Models: Embrace Failure and Keep Moving Forward
To anyone hoping to make it in the modeling industry, Sneja offers valuable advice: "Failure is a stepping stone towards success." She encourages aspiring models to embrace rejection as part of the journey and not be disheartened by it. Rejection is an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. In the end, success doesn’t happen overnight, but it is the passion and resilience that will carry you through the ups and downs. Sneja’s own journey is a testament to this mindset, as she continues to evolve and achieve her goals despite setbacks.
Future Goals: Expanding Horizons and Giving Back to the Next Generation
While modeling remains her primary passion, Sneja also harbors ambitions beyond the runway. Her
career goal is not only to continue modeling but also to explore roles such as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) or a Cabin Crew member. These career goals reflect her versatile nature and her desire to make a broader impact.
Looking ahead, Sneja sees herself representing India on the international stage while providing a platform for aspiring youth to break into the industry professionally. She envisions herself in a leadership position, contributing to the growth of the fashion industry and giving back to the community by empowering the next generation of talent.
Conclusion: A Role Model for Aspiring Talents
Sneja Naik is a true embodiment of resilience, passion, and ambition. Her journey in the modeling world is an inspiration to anyone who dreams of making it in a competitive industry. With her diverse interests, unique style, and strong leadership, she is poised to achieve even greater success in the years to come. Sneja’s story is a reminder that the path to success is often filled with challenges, but it’s the determination to push through those challenges that ultimately leads to greatness.

Darcia D'Mello scientist
Darcia D’Mello, a Goan scientist in London, pioneers biotechnology and healthcare research, earning global recognition for innovation, sustainability, and infectious disease diagnostics, inspiring young minds in STEM.
Darcia D'Mello: Pioneering Science, Innovation, and Inspiration
The story of Darcia D'Mello is one of resilience, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of science and innovation. Performance Analyst
Shashwat Kamat
Shashwat Kamat, 21, is a leading sports performance analyst, chairing St Mary’s University’s School of Sports and working with elite clubs, pioneering AI-driven analytics in modern sports.
At just 21, Shashwat Kamat has already carved an impressive niche in the world of sports performance analysis. Hailing from Porvorim, India, he is currently the Chairperson for the School of Sports, Exercise & Applied Science at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London, while simultaneously pursuing a degree in Performance Analysis & Talent Identification at the same institution. His journey in the sports industry has been nothing short of remarkable, with a sixyear tenure in the field, making him one of the youngest and most sought-after performance analysts in India and Asia.
Shashwat’s expertise extends across various elite clubs, having worked with Queens Park Rangers FC in London, along with Indian clubs such as FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, and Gujarat Titans. His previous experience includes serving as the General Secretary at Govt. Polytechnic Panaji at the young age of 18, further demonstrating his leadership and organizational capabilities.
The Role of a Performance Analyst
Shashwat describes performance analysis as a crucial yet demanding aspect of modern sports. The role entails working closely with players and coaching staff to enhance team performance. Unlike India, where a single analyst often handles multiple responsibilities, the UK offers a more structured approach with dedicated analysts for different domains, including data analysis, recruitment, opposition analysis, and performance evaluation.
A key aspect of his work is using cutting-edge tools such as Tableau Public, Power BI, SPSS, Metrica, Hudl, and essential software like Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Data collection is achieved through various paid and free platforms, including Wyscout, Instat, and Statsbomb. Depending on time constraints, analysts either manually code events or utilize these platforms to obtain relevant match data.
Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance analysis is deeply rooted in statistical insights. Shashwat emphasizes the importance of identifying dependent and independent variables to establish relevant KPIs. For example, goals scored

(dependent) can be correlated with the number of shots taken (independent). Similarly, if a coach seeks to assess midfield performance, the analyst would evaluate attempted passes, successful passes, and unsuccessful passes to determine a success percentage. These KPIs help optimize player roles and game strategies.
One of his most significant contributions came during a pre-season match analysis, where he and the coaching staff identified a tactical shift that transformed a left winger into an inverted right-back. The player’s height and speed enabled him to join the midfield effectively, leading to a 7-0 victory. This demonstrated the power of data-driven decisionmaking in shaping team dynamics.

Ensuring Data Accuracy and Visualization
Shashwat underscores the necessity of validating and cross-checking data to ensure reliability. Different sports data companies may use varied metrics, leading to discrepancies. Analysts mitigate this by manually coding data to confirm its accuracy. Presentation is also crucial. Reports are tailored to suit different audiences, ensuring that even nontechnical stakeholders grasp the insights. Visualizations with strategically chosen colors help reduce cognitive load, making complex data more digestible for coaching staff and executives.
The Future of Performance Analysis
Shashwat envisions a future where artificial intelligence and data analytics take center stage, potentially reshaping the role of performance
analysts. As AI simplifies complex tasks and provides deeper insights, the industry is shifting towards automated and data-driven methodologies.
Despite the evolving landscape, the role of an analyst remains demanding. Time management is critical, as reports must be prepared within strict timelines to ensure teams are fully equipped for upcoming matches.
Analysts also work closely with the head of analysis and key stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and the effective implementation of new technologies and strategies.
Conclusion
Shashwat Kamat is at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry, pioneering advanced performance analysis methodologies. His journey from India to the UK, coupled with his extensive experience at elite clubs, underscores his commitment to revolutionizing the field.
As the sports industry continues to embrace AI and data-driven solutions, young visionaries like Shashwat are set to shape the future of performance analysis in sports.

Content creator
Saniya Pawar
Saniya Pawar captures Goa’s beauty through engaging reels on lifestyle, travel, and food, blending authenticity with trends to build a loyal audience and inspire aspiring digital storytellers.
Goa, with its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and vibrant culinary scene, serves as the perfect muse for many creatives. Among them, content creator Saniya Pawar stands out, seamlessly blending lifestyle, travel, and food into engaging reels. Her journey into the world of content creation stemmed from a deep passion for sharing the beauty of her surroundings. Over time, she carved a niche that not only showcases Goa’s essence but also resonates with a broad audience.
From Passion to Profession: The Beginning of a Journey
Growing up amid Goa’s scenic landscapes, Saniya was always captivated by its beauty. The serene beaches, warm sands, and mesmerizing sunsets inspired her to document her experiences. Initially, she started by sharing snippets of her daily life, but the overwhelming positive response from her audience encouraged her to dive deeper. She quickly realized that reels offered the ideal format to highlight Goa’s charm in short, engaging clips.
Her transition from casual posting to dedicated content creation was seamless yet intentional. As she explored the realms of social media, she discovered the impact of relatability and authenticity. This realization helped her refine her focus on lifestyle, food, and travel, three aspects that form the heart of her content today.
The Art of Crafting Engaging Content
For Saniya, content creation is more than just capturing moments—it is about storytelling. She finds immense joy in exploring hidden gems, trying local delicacies, and capturing Goa’s picturesque sunsets. Her content allows her audience to experience the region’s beauty through her lens while feeling an emotional connection to each scene.
Her creative process begins with drawing inspiration from her surroundings or trending topics within her niche. Once an idea takes shape, she meticulously plans her shoots, considering elements like locations, outfits, and props. During filming, she focuses on capturing authentic, engaging moments
that resonate with her audience. However, her work doesn’t end there. Post-production plays a crucial role, as she fine-tunes her clips by adding transitions, trending music, and effects that enhance the storytelling experience.
Choosing the Right Platform and Tailoring Content
Among all social media platforms, Instagram remains Saniya’s primary focus. The platform’s diverse features, including Reels, Stories, and static posts, allow her to interact with her audience in multiple ways. She ensures her content aligns with Instagram’s specifications by maintaining high-quality visuals and concise messaging. While Instagram is her mainstay, she also explores cross-platform sharing to expand her reach. Understanding the unique algorithms and audience preferences of each platform enables her to adapt her content accordingly. By doing so, she maximizes engagement while maintaining her signature style.

In the ever-evolving digital space, standing out requires creativity, strategic planning, and the right tools. Saniya uses advanced editing apps that provide a variety of filters, transitions, and effects to enhance her content.
Moreover, she stays ahead of trends by incorporating popular music, experimenting with time-lapses, and utilizing slow-motion effects to add a unique touch to her videos.
Beyond editing, she emphasizes the importance of engaging captions, relevant hashtags, and strategic posting times. By keeping up with platform algorithms and audience behavior, she ensures her content reaches the widest possible audience while maintaining authenticity.
Keeping Up With Trends While Staying True to Authenticity
Staying relevant on social media requires continuous learning and adaptability. Saniya keeps herself updated by engaging with fellow creators, participating in online communities, and monitoring trending content.
However, she is selective when it comes to following trends. Rather than blindly jumping onto viral challenges, she evaluates whether a trend aligns with her brand and audience.
When a trend complements her content style, she creatively incorporates it while adding her personal touch. This balance between authenticity and trend adoption allows her to maintain originality while appealing to a broader audience.

The Reel That Went Viral: A Turning Point
Among her many successful posts, one particular Reel stood out—a “Get Ready With Me” video where she shared her outfit selection process for a day out in Goa. The video quickly gained traction, garnering over 555 likes and a flood of comments. The overwhelming response highlighted the power of relatability and audience interaction.
This viral moment reinforced the importance of personal, engaging content. It motivated Saniya to create more interactive reels, allowing her followers to feel like an active part of her journey. The experience also demonstrated the impact of consistency and audience engagement in driving growth.
Building a Loyal Community Through Engagement
For Saniya, content creation isn’t just about posting videos—it’s about fostering connections. She prioritizes engaging with her followers through comments, direct messages, and interactive Stories. By actively responding to feedback, she strengthens her relationship with her audience and creates a space where they feel heard.
Incorporating audience suggestions is another key aspect of her content strategy. She frequently uses polls and Q&A sessions to understand what her followers want to see. This collaborative approach

ensures her content remains fresh, relevant, and aligned with audience preferences.
Overcoming Challenges in the Digital Space
While content creation is fulfilling, it comes with its share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles Saniya faces is maintaining consistency while keeping her content innovative. With social media algorithms constantly evolving, staying relevant requires adaptability and strategic planning. Another challenge is sourcing fresh ideas that remain true to her brand. To tackle this, she actively seeks inspiration from her surroundings, experiments with different formats, and stays open to learning. By balancing creativity with platform optimization techniques, she ensures her content reaches and resonates with her audience.
Long-Term Vision: Expanding Horizons
Saniya plans to expand her content within the lifestyle and travel niche, exploring sustainability, cultural experiences, and behind-the-scenes stories. She aims to experiment with new Reel formats, including tutorials and in-depth storytelling, to enhance audience engagement. Collaborations with fellow creators and brands are also on her horizon. By partnering with like-minded individuals and companies, she hopes to bring fresh perspectives while offering valuable insights. As she evolves, her goal remains the same—to inspire, engage, and share Goa’s beauty with the world.
Conclusion: A Creator with a Purpose
Saniya Pawar’s journey as a content creator is a testament to passion, dedication, and the power of authentic storytelling. Through her meticulously crafted reels, she not only showcases Goa’s beauty but also fosters meaningful connections with her audience. By continuously innovating while staying true to her brand, she proves that content creation is not just about virality but about building a lasting impact. As she paves the way for the future, her journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring creators who wish to turn their passion into a thriving digital presence.

Juhi Varma: The Rising Star of Electronic and Experimental Music
In the dynamic world of music, where innovation and versatility define an artist, Juhi Varma, popularly known by her stage name ZOHA, has carved a unique space for herself. At just 21, she is a talented guitarist, producer, and DJ, showcasing a diverse musical repertoire that transcends genres and styles. From her early fascination with music to independently releasing her own compositions, Juhi's journey is an inspiring tale of passion and perseverance.
A Musical Journey Rooted in Passion
Growing up in a musically inclined household, Juhi was exposed to various genres from an early age. Her mother’s deep appreciation for music played a pivotal role in shaping her artistic sensibilities. Her journey began with the guitar, an instrument she first picked up in the fourth or fifth grade. What started as a whim soon turned into a serious pursuit, leading her to receive formal training at the Delhi School of Music by the time she was in sixth grade. Her musical exploration took a significant turn at 15 when she developed an interest in electronic music. Fascinated by the process of music production, she took to YouTube to teach herself the intricacies of music creation. This self-driven passion led her to become proficient in production, and later, DJing, which she embraced at 19, stepping into the world of live performances.
Influences That Shaped Her Sound

A Blend of Genres and Experimentation
Juhi's influences span across multiple genres and eras. As a guitarist, she draws inspiration from legendary musicians such as Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joan Jett, and Nancy Wilson. Her guitar teacher also played a crucial role in shaping her musical perspective. Beyond rock and blues, her musical palette extends to classical guitar, flamenco, ghazals, jazz, house, techno, and breakbeat music. Artists such as Monolink, Solomun, Nora En Pure, Gioli and Assia, Nina Kravitz, Avicii, TOKIMONSTA, and Sylvia Massy have also significantly influenced her approach to music production.
When asked to define her musical style, Juhi describes it as an eclectic mix of multiple genres. She does not confine herself to a single genre, instead embracing versatility, with a particular inclination towards electronic experimental production.
Her creative process is deeply intuitive, often starting with a melody or chord progression and evolving into a full-fledged composition. She places a strong emphasis on evoking emotions and crafting narratives within her music, blending elements that bring her artistic vision to life.

The Studio and Stage Experience
As both a performer and a producer, Juhi enjoys the balance between studio work and live performances. While the studio allows her to refine her creativity and construct original compositions, performing live brings a different kind of excitement—one where she connects directly with the audience, creating an immersive musical experience. Whether in the studio or on stage, both aspects of her career hold a special place in her journey.
Notable Achievements and Collaborations
One of Juhi’s most significant milestones has been independently releasing her first two music videos and an EP. Her single "SAMURAI," directed by her best friend Shristi Dutta, was a visually compelling project that brought the essence of the song to life.
Another notable achievement was her EP My Sad Self, a collaborative effort created with her college friends for a film project based on Allen Ginsberg’s poem of the same name. This project marked a new artistic exploration for Juhi, as she composed music inspired by visual and literary cues.
Currently, she is working on a fruitful collaboration with Kia, experimenting with new soundscapes to enhance their artistic voice. Juhi and Kia are a dynamic singing duo, captivating audiences with their harmonious vocals and electrifying performances. Juhi is working on new projects that promise to showcase her evolving sound and artistic vision.
Challenges in the Music Industry
Like any emerging artist, Juhi has faced challenges in the music industry, particularly the undervaluation of artistic vision in favor of commercial viability. She believes that more spaces should be dedicated to fostering new and upcoming talent, especially in India. Despite these challenges, she remains steadfast in her artistic integrity, continuously striving to stay true to her craft while navigating the industry's demands.
Looking Ahead: Future Aspirations

Juhi does not let stage fright hold her back; instead, she embraces the excitement of performing live. She advises aspiring musicians to believe in themselves and persist despite obstacles, emphasizing that growth in music is a continuous journey. With a new song in the works and a deep commitment to expanding her skills, Juhi is eager to explore uncharted territories in music. She envisions an evolving musical career, driven by curiosity and innovation rather than a predetermined path. One of her dreams is to perform at the Love Parade in Berlin, a festival known for its vibrant celebration of Juhi Varma, aka ZOHA, is undoubtedly a rising star in the realm of electronic and experimental music. Her journey—from learning the guitar to producing, DJing, and performing live—exemplifies an artist who is constantly evolving. With her unwavering passion and an unrelenting drive to explore new musical dimensions, Juhi is poised to make a lasting impact on the industry. As she continues to refine her craft and push creative boundaries, the future looks incredibly promising for this young and talented musician.

Since then, Kia has been actively performing across Goa and collaborating with musicians worldwide through her innovative Instagram series.
Musical Influences and Style
From a young age, Kia’s love for singing was apparent, and with the unwavering support of her parents and friends, she decided to turn her passion into a career. Her biggest influences include Jorja Smith, Doechii, and RUBII, among many others. These artists have inspired her to explore multiple genres, and as a result, Kia does not confine herself to a single musical style. She is deeply interested in Latin, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, electronic, and rock music, always seeking to learn new styles, even in different languages. This versatility sets her apart and keeps her creative process dynamic and ever-evolving.
Songwriting and Composition Process
Though songwriting once felt like a challenge due to creative blocks, Kia’s mentors at the music academy introduced her to unique methods that transformed her approach. Now, whenever she experiences a surge of emotion, she picks up her guitar and starts developing melodies and lyrics. If she senses potential in a melody, she builds upon it, crafting a hook that serves as the song's core. This organic and

Instruments and Musical Approach
Kia’s primary instrument is her voice, but she also plays the guitar, ukulele, and has recently started learning the keyboard. Among these, the guitar holds a special place in her heart. She draws inspiration from emotions, significant moments, and even visual imagery, often imagining how a particular memory would look in terms of colors and hues before translating it into a song. This unique perspective fuels her creativity and results in deeply personal and evocative compositions.
Live Performances vs. Studio Sessions
Initially, Kia felt more at ease in recording sessions, but over time, she has come to love the thrill of live performances. The opportunity to work with different musicians and experience the energy of a live audience has been transformative. Seeing people's reactions and emotions while performing fuels her passion and pushes her to constantly improve. Performing live takes her out of her comfort zone, making each show a new and exciting challenge.
Memorable Moments and Collaborations
One of Kia’s most cherished experiences was participating in student ensembles at her academy, where she collaborated with talented musicians across various genres. Another defining moment in her journey was performing with Goa-based musician Lojal. During one of his gigs, Kia was invited on stage to improvise—a challenge she had previously struggled with. Overcoming her hesitation and performing spontaneously in front of a live audience was a breakthrough moment, boosting her confidence as an artist.
Overcoming Challenges and Stage Fright
Like many artists, Kia has faced obstacles, particularly with stage fright. However, she has learned that pushing herself to perform repeatedly helps her gradually overcome it. While the nerves may still be present, she embraces them as part of the process. Another challenge she encountered was finding musicians to collaborate with, but she has discovered that putting herself out there and networking within the music community has led to

Advice for Aspiring Musicians
For those looking to pursue music, Kia’s advice is simple: if you love something, just do it. She encourages artists to experiment fearlessly, put their work out into the world, and embrace the journey of growth. Perfection is not the goal—progress is, and through constant practice and perseverance, improvement is inevitable.
Future Aspirations and Dreams
Exciting projects are on the horizon for Kia, and she is eager to share her upcoming music with the world. She envisions herself continuing to study and explore different musical styles to refine her craft. By collaborating with a diverse range of artists, she hopes to discover her unique niche while remaining open to new influences and inspirations. Her ultimate goal is to have people listen to and connect with her music.
One of her biggest dreams is to perform on NPR’s Tiny Desk series. The intimate and artistically curated setting, featuring musicians from various backgrounds, has always captivated her. She admires the creative arrangements and raw performances showcased on Tiny Desk and aspires to one day be among those talented artists, sharing her music in such a meaningful space.
A Bright Future Ahead
With her talent, dedication, and open-minded approach to music, Kia Smith is undoubtedly a rising star to watch. Her journey has just begun, but with each performance and collaboration, she continues to carve out her unique space in the industry. As she works toward her dreams, one thing is certain—her music will continue to inspire and resonate with audiences worldwide.

Susegado Strike Fight Night is revolutionizing Goa’s sports scene, establishing it as a professional boxing hub with thrilling bouts, local champions, and a vision to build a thriving boxing culture.
Goa and boxing sounds like an unlikely pairing? Not anymore. With Susegado Strike Fight Night, three Goan boxing promoters are putting the state on India’s professional boxing map. From thrilling knockouts to championship bouts, their bold experiment which started last year has turned into a full-blown sporting spectacle in its second edition, proving that Goa isn’t just for leisure, it's a destination where boxing legends can be forged.
When Mapusa's Pralhad Panda (29) on Friday knocked out his opponent DN Sai Havish from Hyderabad to become the first Goan to win the Indian Boxing Council’s West Zone championship title, the packed audience at the International Centre, Goa, in Dona Paula went into a celebratory frenzy.
The cheers weren't just for Panda, who knocked out his opponent despite his better reach and height
advantage in a matter of 1 minute and 6 seconds, the adulation may well have been for the sport of pugilism, which appears to be taking root in Goa, thanks to a homegrown boxing promotion entity, Susegado Strike, powered by three sons-of-the-soil.
Leading the gloved charge are three architects of Goa’s ongoing professional boxing resurgence; former national-level boxer and ex Goa Amateur Boxing Association secretary Clyde Lobo, boxing enthusiast, real estate expert and a film producer
Prathamesh Naik and combat sports enthusiast who is a landscape designer, Luigson Fernandes. Their brainchild, Susegado Strike, scaled up from a bold experiment last year as the Fight Night's first edition, to a full-blown spectacle this year, positioning Goa as a destination for big-ticket sporting events and giving professional Goan boxers a platform (rather, a ring) for success.

Clyde Lobo is a two-time national championship fighter and a former secretary of the Goa Amateur Boxing Association

Luigson, a landscape designer by profession but a combat sports fanatic at heart, sees Susegado Strike as more than just a sporting event. “We want to develop a structured program for scouting and training fighters, collaborating with local gyms and trainers to give Goan athletes a clear pathway into professional boxing,” he says.
The second edition of Susegado Strike, held in February 2025, upped the ante with eight highintensity fights, including the Indian Boxing council’s (IBC) West Zone championship bout, a kind of highstakes contest that has never been previously hosted in Goa. Fighters from across India and

Panda’s historic first-round knockout of Hyderabad’s DN Sai Havish wasn’t just a personal triumph; it was also a triumph for Goan boxing. Alongside him, Kailas Gauns and Umesh Chavan from Goa racked up wins in their respective categories, proving that Goan fighters weren’t just there to make up numbers in the ring. They were there to dominate.

The presence of an international fighter from Afghanistan, Taher Khuram and a championship title bout only reinforced what the founders had been insisting all along: Goa isn’t just ready for professional boxing. It has potential to thrive along with the sport. Beyond the spectacle, Susegado Strike’s founders have their sights set on a larger goal; creating a steady pipeline for Goan talent.
“We don’t just want to host events,” Clyde says. “We want to build a boxing culture here.
