Hello Readers!

Hope you are all safe and free from the dreadful Covid virus. The past two years have been trying for some and testing for others. With the anticovid vaccines made available by our Government, the fear of contracting Coronathis dreaded, ‘could-be-fatal’ virus, has almost subsided.

Dealing with the pandemic has been a lifechanging experience. The work-from-home / remote work ethics kicked in. The ‘nine-to-five’ concept changed. Food habits got drastically altered. Families lived as families like never before. Everyone wanted to extend a helping hand. That was the top-side. The flip side, though, was quite depressing. Those who tested Covid positive were Isolated /quarantined, which amounted to no contact with the outside world or family and friends. The fear of contracting the virus was so great that relatives were afraid to go near the affected persons. It was depressing for many.

Once the vaccines were released and most of the population got vaccinated. The atmosphere was more relaxed. Controversy surrounded the vaccines and still does. However, personally speaking, I took the Covishield vaccine, though others had more confidence in the Bharat Biotech Covaxin. Many others took whatever was available like Oxford/Astra Zeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, etc. Covaxin has now been given a nod by the WHO. That decision by the World Health Organisation has come as a big relief to travellers who opted for Covaxin. They can now travel to countries that did not formally recognize this vaccine.

Having contracted the virus myself, despite being fully vaccinated, made me realize that exercising caution by maintaining social distancing, wearing a certified mask, sanitizing your hands regularly, and not touching your nose, mouth, or eyes when outdoors is a must.

We were able to showcase Goa like never before. Soon our blog-based website transcended the virtual space, with the ItsGoa magazine a sought-after resource for visitors to Goa from countries like Norway, Germany, UK, USA, UAE, etc. The Covid Pandemic in 2020 brought everything to a standstill and printing of the magazine was put on hold. Now that life is almost back to normal in Goa, and to maintain the covid norms, we have decided to launch our very own ItsGoa magazine online.

The content on ItsGoa is written by people who are passionate about calling this tiny state their home. Our writers come from all walks of life, and through our social media handles on Facebook or Instagram, we re able to showcase Goa through many different lenses.

The majestic Dudhsagar Waterfalls

The Mandovi River finds its way through the Western Ghats and gushes down from a top of 1017 ft. From the steep aspect of the mountains, this is a breath-taking view for the tourists.

Dudhsagar is referred to as “sea of milk” owing to its milk-like colour.

Gushing water from a nearly 300m top is certainly a spell binding feel. It appears precisely like milk being poured from the pinnacle of mountain ranges. It is an acknowledged reality that Dudhsagar fall will become extra hypnotic for the duration of the monsoon and being the traveller season it is the most secure access.

Local story at the back of the falls

Once a princess who was once the daughter of the King of Ghats used to be taking a bath in the lake which was once close to her father’s castle. The princess and her maidens sat by the lake after taking a bath and drank milk from a jug which used to be made of gold with valuable diamonds being embedded.

One day, whilst a charming prince was once driving via the woods, he heard the laughter sound which made him curious as to the place the chit chatter sound is coming from.

To his surprise, when he noticed the scarcely dressed princess, her maidens in order to guard the honour of the princess poured the milk from the jug. A curtain of milk was once shaped to defend the princess. The curtain that covered the modesty of the princess is recognised as the “Dudhsagar Falls”. Dudhsagar Jeep Safari Tour Packages Dudhsagar waterfall is a destination where tourists traveling in Goa crash for a rejuvenating time. A big chunk of traffic consists of International travelers.

The falls are gaining a sizable reputation and you will witness a tourist rush on weekdays too. There are numerous methods to reach the Dudhsagar waterfall, as it is simply 60 kms away from Panjim (the capital metropolis of Goa).

You will be provided with a pick-up and drop from your accommodation. The jeep safari takes 30-40 minutes to pass by through the dense jungle and a few pairs of rivulets, which is on the way.

The ride will become exhilarating as you reach Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you get to see a range of animals and birds.

As the experience continues, the Jeep will drop you near a water body where you can swim in the pools, drink beverages, take a stroll, feed the monkeys or relax.

The tour ends with a spice plantation tour and a gorgeous elephant ride. There is still plenty to come from this tour, so maintain reading. The onerous but fun-filled tour commences at 6:00 am and ends around 5:30 pm.

Dudhsagar falls closes at 4:30 pm, and yes, it appears depressing due to the fact you can in no way get sufficient of this beauty.

Waterfall Trip Cost

A full-day time out to Dudhsagar Falls price starts from Rs. 1999/- per individual. This tour consists of jeep booking, transportation (pickup-drop from the hotel) charges, and entrance costs with a guided tour for waterfalls.

Jeep Safari to the Falls

The jeep safari will start at Mollem National Park, from the place you will be pushed via the verdant woodland areas. You can be taken for the safari tour as a group, couple or even as a single tourist.

The Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary hosts a large range of flora and fauna and is maintained by way of the Forest Department. Drongo, emerald dove, myna, flycatcher, fairy bluebird, yellow bulbul with a ruby throat and many others birds and the animals like Black Panther, barking deer, Bengal tiger, leopards, bonnet macaque, sambar and so on are some of the birds & animals that you will see.

Apart from the birds and animals, butterflies like Blue Mormon, frequent Jezebel are observed in this flora and fauna sanctuary.

The pick-up and drop car will be supplied from all lodges that are booked in Calangute, Baga, Arpora, Candolim, Sinquerim & Nerul Area.

Devil’s Canyon being the eerie canyon of water which is carved out of Dudhsagar falls following a downward route is discovered in the identical area. The underwater currents make it challenging and hazardous for a robust swimmer as well.

If anyone were to ask you, “What do you do for a living, then what would you say?”

I’m a youtuber / businessman. I honestly don’t like to tell people what I do though. I prefer people treating me for me instead of a business title or a social status.

What was that one moment when you decided that, “That’s it! I want to become a Youtuber” I used to always enjoy making videos, I never thought of doing it seriously though. During lockdown I used to watch a lot of videos and then I came across videos of Goa. Sadly none of them were of good quality and didn’t really tell you much about the place. It was mostly people talking about their holiday experience. In my teenage days, I used to explore a lot of places in Goa and I thought to myself, why don’t I make videos and tell people about all the beautiful places and things that are there in Goa. I started off with a video of Miramar beach and in a couple of days it got over 4000+ views. I started getting all the questions about other places in Goa and I thought ok this is something people seem to like, so I started making videos every day. I never thought it would blow up so quickly. At one stage I got over 18 thousand subscribers in one month.

Why aspire to become a top Indian Youtuber? Why not something else?

I actually do YouTube as a hobby and not as a profession as we own businesses. But, YouTube has been something where I help a lot of people with their trips and also I got to help many local businesses free of cost. It always makes me so happy when these businesses call me up and say you know so many people came to us after your video. People will write me big letters of how they had an amazing trip because of my videos and also a lot of locals have messaged me saying that they have never known half of the places that I’ve showcased. It gives me a lot of motivation and satisfaction.

A bit about your role models. People you look up to…

I would say my father Mr. Alirio Saldanha, at a young age his dream was to be a photographer although he was running businesses, he was so passionate about his photography that he used to click thousands of pictures. It used to be quite annoying as he used to click pictures of us all the time. But he then went on to become a very successful photographer working with many international brands and launched a lot of models and some of them went on to become top stars in the film and fashion industry. So I always admired his determination and I applied the same to my YouTube journey, the never giving up attitude.

Any inspirational moment you remember in your life that changed everything…

When I was a teen I went to this remote slum on a missionary trip. There were these children and they used to get only 1 Rupee allowance per month to buy some sugar candy. You could buy 4 of these candies for Re.1. One of the kids had gotten his candy for the month, he came running and gave it to me. I broke down in tears. This was a child who had nothing and was willing to give me his precious candy. It completely changed me from that day onwards. It taught me to put others before myself and to always remain humble and grounded.

What was the biggest challenge when pursuing this as a fulltime career? And how did you overcome it to become a top Indian YouTuber? I would say time management as I only do YouTube as a passion and not a career. I now allocate a certain time of the day for YouTube. It’s really important to give time to your family and friends besides being stuck in a virtual world. I found that at times I was so busy clicking photos or videos of the sunsets and not really enjoying the moment. Now I have been trying to put down the phone or camera and just take it all in. What are some memories as a kid you’d like to share? Maybe an advice you received or maybe a pop culture reference you’d like to share…

As a kid I used to wear these broken paragon slippers. As my parents always told me I had to work for anything that I wanted in life and I told myself one day I would have a really good pair of shoes. It really motivated me as a youngster to work really hard, now I have a whole wall full of the best sneakers.

Name your favorite Indian Youtuber or anyone whose content inspires you. Any fanboy moment you experienced or precious advice someone gave you?

YBS Youngbloods is a channel I personally follow closely. He’s a youtuber from Australia and has a very fun lifestyle of fishing and staying on some random islands. I’ve always been around celebrities from a young age so it was never like a wow moment for me. Although I recently met Ritviz, an Indian musician. I was really happy to see him, especially since he was super down to earth.

Who is the one person you’d like to meet from the past? And what would you ask him/her?

A childhood friend of mine, unfortunately over the years we grew apart. I would really like to meet him and tell him he was really an important person in my life.

If you were to go back in time, what would you tell your younger self? That all the struggles will be completely worth it.

Can you write a couple of lines for us here say on the topic of “My Life as an Influencer”? With great power comes great responsibility. I would say it’s very important to use your platform very wisely and try to help as many people as possible. The life of an Influencer can be very overwhelming at times. I have received so much love from so many people from all over the world and it’s sometimes like wow I’m just someone who makes videos. I’m truly grateful though as I got to try so many new experiences and some things which I would have not really done otherwise. As a youtuber you get access to many places very easily.

What role did family and friends play? Any quick incident you recall that helped you overcome a hurdle or challenge in life with help from family?

I would like to say my wife Sharon Saldanha, she was super understanding even though I had to do hours of editing and come home late from shoots some days. She has been motivating me and helping me the whole time. Life can be super hard especially since I run businesses and do YouTube at the same time. But it’s always good to go home and know you have someone waiting for you.

What were the learnings from being an Indian YouTuber that shaped your growth in life?

I would say I really enjoy the whole experience, especially since I get to meet so many new people. It also taught me that if you work hard anything is possible. I hope my journey will inspire many people to go out there and do what they love.

What were people’s feedback (negative and positive), and who stood by you the most? I have received so much love on my YouTube journey. I’ve had some of my YouTube family drive 170+ kms just to see me in the airport for a few minutes. It’s very rare that I ever come across any negative comments. Many of my viewers have stood by me really strongly and some have become like family.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind? And for whom?

I’m the first Goan vlogger to reach 100K+ Subscribers in less than one year. I hope it motivates more youngsters to take up YouTube as a career. Also I’m recording a piece of history in my videos. I’ve done videos of Goa when there wasn’t a single person on the main beaches of Goa and then when there were thousands. Those empty beaches might never be seen again.

If anyone were to ask you, “What do you do for a living, then what would you say?” I’m a full time musician apart from being a part of the family business.

What was that one moment when you decided that, “That’s it! I want to become a top Indian musician”

The thrill that I always got from watching local bands play as a child.

Why embrace singing? Why not something else? I doubt there is a job that will give me such a level of satisfaction at the end of the day. Singing allows me to express myself, probably in a way that I won't ever be able to otherwise.

A bit about your role models. People you look up to. Any western or Indian musicians… Being a retro lover, I’ve always looked upto bands from the 80’ & 90’. Chris Rea, Def Leppard, Mark Knopfler, Eagles, Elton John, Lionel Richie, MJ, Kool & The Gang etc.

They created music that has such depth, the lyrics made sense (lol), the harmony & arrangements always stood out. Being a retro lover, I’ve always looked upto bands from the 80’ & 90’. Chris Rea, Def Leppard, Mark Knopfler, Eagles, Elton John, Lionel Richie, MJ, Kool & The Gang etc. They created music that has such depth, the lyrics made sense (lol), the harmony & arrangements always stood out. Apart from these acts, cover bands like Martin Miller & HSCC are beyond super. A few Goan bands are also remarkable that have inspired me to push myself a little more.

Any inspirational moment you remember in your life that changed everything…

What was the biggest challenge when pursuing this as a fulltime career? And how did you overcome it? Starting off at the age of 22, while still pursuing my MBA was a big big effort. The initial investment, the risk factors that came along. At that point people didn’t know who we were and what our music was like. But, if you work hard anything is possible. Literally!!

Cassuis Fernandes (Balck Goa) was a mentor to me. I owe him a lot, right from guiding me with the kind of gear that I should buy and even giving us a head start with gigs. He’s been a great support.

If you’re a musician, then you’d always agree that music is everything. Music is something that makes people happy, it unites people, it turns a bad day into a good one, it makes you dance, it’s one of strongest ways to send a message across.

What role did family and friends play? Any quick incident you recall that helped you overcome a hurdle or challenge in life with help from fam? My family ,wife & friends are the reason I am where I am today. They’ve always been supportive right from the start, giving me the backing that I needed.

What were people’s feedback (negative and positive), and who stood by you the most? The people that I perform with & the restaurants that I gig at. Lucky for us we haven’t had such an issue (yet). But if ever we felt the crowd didn’t respond well, these guys always stood by me.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind? And for whom?

I just want to create a brand for myself, rather I already have one. But I still want to do something better and different every season. Probably the next Gen will have something to be proud of.

1. Gunpowder

The first one on the list has put Assagao on the tourist map, Gunpowder’s Toddy Shop Meen Curry and Soondal have really stood the test of time. Gunpowder is loved by artists, writers and every variant of hipster for its epic Andhra Prawn Curry and Pandhi Curry that go well with parottas, or their fluffy, cloud-like appams. We also recommend keeping their artisanal cocktails coming through the meal. Before you commit yourself to the food, though, walk through the People Tree store that shares space inside this old Goan home and adds to Gunpowder’s charm.

2. Vinayak Family Restaurant

This modern, boutique restaurant located in Panaji, prides itself on using locally-sourced seasonal produce and that is exactly what makes all the difference. Given all the innovative twists on their farm-to-fork menu, it’s hard to pick our favourites, but if we had gun aimed at our head, we’d go for their Ghee Roast Pork Ribs and Goan Pesto Crusted Fish (vegetarians can get this with paneer) and Chakri Churros.

7. Olive Bar & Kitchen

How do you handle the expectations that come with being as iconic as Olive? Well, you take what they’re best known for and drop it on the beach. What makes this Vagator restaurant timeless is how it keeps the OG’s love for all things pretty and pizza alive, while still going big on their Goa menu, particularly seafood dishes, while indulging in an evening of Jazz by the beach. This restaurant has introduced the Goa family brunches to a whole lot of sangria and sardines on toasted ciabatta. Tsumyoki, if anyone were to ask you, “Please introduce yourself”. How would you do so? I am an artist/musician.

What was that one moment when you decided that, “That’s it! I want to rap” Probably around the age of 17. It’s not just rap, I want to make all kinds of music. It’s a process that is therapeutic to me and I absolutely love doing it. Why become a rapper? Why not something else? Well I’m not just a rapper, I diversify in all genres of music. I want to do it because this is what love is. I love making music.

A bit about your role models. Any aspects or traits that makes them so… (can be from the rap world too) My mom of course. Music wise I am inspired by artists like XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD, Drake, Post Malone and Ski Mask the Slump God.

What was the biggest challenge when pursuing this as a fulltime career? And how did you overcome it? That would be creating a scene in Goa. There was no scene for rap/original music down here. I had no one from Goa to look up to. So, I had to create the scene myself. Now I’m so happy to see the number of rappers and young musicians coming up. Truly makes me feel proud.

What was your reaction to Gully Boy? I watched the movie twice. Once when it came out where I didn’t have any idea who some of the rappers in the movie were. And the second time, when I watched it was a whole different experience because not only do, I personally know some of the Indian rappers in the film but I have songs with them. What’s the current rap scene in India? Is it better than what it used to be? We are just scratching the surface of rap in India. Soon it will be everywhere. There is an Indian rapper coming out of every city.

Candolim market is a perfect place for you to try hoardes of local foods. Seemingly innocent-looking Candolim market and the adjacent street transform into a street food fiesta. King Kane, Monico’s beach shack, and Michael Lobo’s center are some of the prominent places where you can try chicken lollipop, prawn chops, egg chops, etc. Miramar beach also provides an array of stalls on the beachline that attracts tourists and locals alike. If anyone were to ask you, “What do you do for a living, then what would you say?” I’m a homemaker that loves to paint, create visual stories and serve.

What was that one moment when you decided that, “That’s it! I want to become a good Indian visual artist”?

When I saw our Goan heritage changing after decades of Liberation while on house calls as a nurse in the 90’s, I decided to document it all with a pen on paper and with a brush on canvas.

A bit about your role models. People you look up to when painting?

I am original in my work and paint from my soul. I have mentors and friends who guide me but I do not have a role model for I like to make my own path. It’s easier than following someone and having to compete.

Any inspirational moment you remember in your life that changed everything…

Yes, the tragic passing away of my elder son aged 20 suddenly in his sleep due to a rare undiagnosed heart condition which changed my life and I do everything in his memory consequently I do not miss him.

What was the biggest challenge when pursuing this as a fulltime career? And how did you overcome it? I paint, write or photograph because I love doing it. And so, each day I wake up doing what I love. I do not work for money as I’m well cared for by my family. My fulltime career is simply a hobby that turned into a cathartic journey and once I got recognition from professionals, I began to compete with myself using my talents to help others in memory of my late son.

The luxury I have is that my career is a HOBBY! That is why I enjoy the ‘challenges’ and have no fear.

Any memories as a kid you’d like to share?

Something that sparked the love for painting? I always loved to draw but was told that ‘Artists don’t survive. You need a skill in hand’! So, I chose to become a nurse instead as at that time Mother Teresa was my inspiration. I studied in St. Martha’s College of Nursing Bangalore and worked there and briefly in Mumbai before becoming a fulltime mother to my young boys by choice. I took up painting and writing visual stories only when they went out of Goa for further studies. Later I took up painting in particular in memory of my son Craig Vaz so I could use the proceeds for my social work in his memory.

Who is the one person you’d like to meet from the past? And what would you ask him/her? I’d like to meet my little self and would like to say that life wasn’t all that challenging after all. I am almost 57 today and have witnessed bittersweet moments. Knowing who we are is fundamental in life and that’s what I would like to tell everyone for this is NEVER taught to us anywhere in school, home, Church or workplace. They tell us what to do and how to do but no one tells us who we are! That we are already worthy, whole and loved! From this point one can do anything!

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?

I would teach and train my younger self to claim her worthiness. I don’t want to be the best Indian visual artist, I only want to tell stories to the best of my capacity.

If you can accept that every time you think a thought and speak a word you are creating your reality, you are painting your future, you are creating your own life. Choosing the colors on the easel of your soul is important. It’s a fulltime job! I also am aware of the colors I wouldn’t want to paint with. I love that many people like my life’s painting, my actions, my personality, what I believe, what I feel. It’s beautiful.

What role did family and friends play? Any quick incident you remember when family or friends helped you overcome a hurdle or challenge in life? It was a big challenge when my family discovered that I was a creative person. They had never seen that side of me. Creativity requires long hours of work and as my successes began to show they accepted the fact that I was indeed gifted with a little talent and today I can freely do what I love. They support me

What were people’s feedback (negative and positive), and who stood by you the most? Honestly, I do not consider people’s opinions but do listen. Ultimately, art is self-expression and it’s something so inclusive after all art lies in the eyes of the beholder only!

I have one mentor/and honest friend who actually took one look at my work in 2014 and instantly knew I had talent. Being trained in Sir J.J school of Art, her belief in my work changed my perspective of LIFE and from being a nurse, I became a full-time painter only to experiment with the tools of my trade, that of using a syringe to paint! She encouraged me all the way.

She is a senior Art director/graphic designer having worked for big companies like FCB Speer, DDB Mudra, Ogilvy, Walt Disney and more. A humble and simple soul, who simply strolled into my home to check on my oeuvre of work. She bought my first artwork as a professional. Her name is Bina Nayak. She has been a part of my visual story books as editor and designer too.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind? And for whom?

I am just a soul journeying in life. A small of the big one All. My deeds will be my legacy. Being an admired Indian visual artist fills me with pride.

The Weather in Goa

The state’s tropical climate means it never gets cold in Goa. Daytime temperatures consistently remain above 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) throughout the year. Winters are dry and fewer humid, with a day being bright and picture-perfect. Minimum temperatures of 74 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) ensure delightfully balmy nights. Summer in Goa runs from March through May, with daytime temperatures around 91 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius) on the coast. However, nighttime temperatures and humidity rise to uncomfortable levels. By May, the minimum temperature has reached 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius) and humidity above 70 percent. Towards the top of May, the weather becomes sultry and unsettled because the southwest monsoon approaches. There could also be isolated thunderstorms and rain.

The southwest monsoon arrives within the first week of June and lingers until the top of September. You can expect tons of rain in June and July, easing off in August. The rain is unpredictable. On occasions, it’ll continue almost non-stop for days, while at other times, the downpours are only brief. The temperature dips slightly during the monsoon season. Although humidity levels increase to about 85 percent on the coast, the rain provides some refreshment.

Expect hot and humid weather in October after the monsoon has departed. It usually becomes more pleasant towards the end of November or early December with the approach of winter.

Goa’s Peak Tourist Season

Mid-December to mid-January is the hottest time to go to Goa.

Families flock there over the Christmas-New Year period to flee the dreary hemisphere winter. Accommodations book up, and prices double or triple. Hotels in Goa typically hold compulsory gala lunches or dinners on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

These cost anywhere from 4,000 rupees (around $56) to 10,000 rupees ($140) per person, adding to the expense. North Goa is far busier than South Goa.

Traffic jams are particularly problematic along the Candolim-Baga stretch.

Tourist Attractions in Goa

Many of Goa’s tourist attractions close during the off-season from May to October. This includes beach shacks, markets, water sports (when the sea is choppy during the monsoon), and some restaurants and accommodations.

The infamous party scene dies down also , although there are a couple of bars and clubs that remain open. Goa’s spice plantations, national parks, museums, and casinos are open all year round. The Hop-On-Hop-Off sightseeing bus runs daily all year round too. It’s a convenient way of seeing Goa’s tourist spots, including Old Goa.

Winter (December to February)

Goa is at its most vibrant during winter. Everything is working , and there are many parties and events happening . As Goa is a predominantly Catholic state, the lead up to Christmas in December is especially festive. Early December are often a superb time to travel because the hordes of tourists are yet to arrive. However, you can mostly avoid the crowds by visiting South Goa, or by waiting until February. You’re likely to urge a far better deal on accommodations in February, too, as hotels are not any longer charging high season prices.

Events to check out:

• International Jazz Festival (early December) features live jazz performances from international musicians.

• Feast of Francis Xavier (Dec..) is a large fair in Old Goa dedicated to Saint Francis Xavier, a Christian missionary whose mummified body is kept in a casket in Bom Jesus Basilica.

• Serendipity Arts Festival (mid-December) is a multi-day interdisciplinary arts festival featuring numerous projects across multiple venues.

He is one of Goa’s top food influencers, and we thought what better way to conclude Shravan, than interview the funny and chirpy, Ruben. The team of ItsGoa caught up with him and over the burner (pun intended).

What do they call you at home? My loved ones call me Ruby. My Instagram handle is @Masterclass.de.r7

Ruben, if anyone were to ask you, “Please introduce yourself”. How would you do so? I call my followers my Kurkurit fam. All I do is make useful videos, finish off hunger, and make them smile.

What was that one moment when you decided that, “That’s it! I want to tell stories through food”?

I think it was because of my Grandmother and Mother. Simply seeing them create magic over the kitchen table made me take up food creation and food reviewing. Simply showcasing food

does not make it meaningful and tasty until you bring the zest and taste with humor to get your audience engaged.

Why become a food influencer? Why not something else?

This is actually by chance! After I cleared my 12th boards. I saw no options in front of me but my Dad randomly filled the entrance form for IHM Goa for BSC in Hospitality. I actually got through. And then, I just fell in love with food. Footage courtesy – The Food Diary From Mom to Son

Tell us a bit about your role models. Any aspects or traits that makes them so… (can be from the food world too) My role model is definitely my mom Fermina Dias. My grandma herself was a fantastic cook, in turn, making my mom a great cook, so I think it flows in the family. It’s in me too.

What was the biggest challenge when becoming a food influencer? And how did you overcome it?

It’s the lockdown which forced me to explore my inner talents to create and make content that kept me occupied while I underwent my practical as a student of IHM. All this happened under the strict supervision of the best instructor, my Mother.

What is it about food that makes you swoon? Memories of good food eaten at a particular place and the memories associated with it. For e.g. my grandmother made the best Chicken Fry

In the world of food influencing, I like Zingyzest. She’s really cute and down to earth. She also is outspoken and has great content. and chefs

Can you write a couple of lines for us here on the topic of “Food is Life”? Well obviously ‘Food is Life’. Good food with friends and family, add flavors, zest and spice to life. Food connects all humanity together. Good food equals good vibes. Good memories and taste linger for years.

What role did family and friends play in becoming a food influencer? Any quick incident you recall that helped you overcome a hurdle or challenge in life with help from fam? Family has been the strongest support to make me what I am today. My mother stood like a rock behind me against all odds. There was a time in between where my engagement rate was down and that’s when my friends came in to motivate me.

What were people’s feedback (negative and positive), and who stood by you the most? Most of the feedback was negative. Many said I won’t have a future. My mom made me believe in myself and what I am now is an answer to them.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind? And for whom? I am a big dreamer. I have so much knowledge to acquire. I want to have my own TV show on which I’ll travel the world to cook and eat. I want to be in the hearts of every Goan. My YouTube channel will be passed on to my children. Currently, it’s named ‘The Food Diary from Mom to Son’, which will then become ‘The Food Diary from Dad to Daughter/Son’.
