ROSANNE CASH Idiosyncratic and innovative, Rosanne Cash has built up her own legacy far beyond the recognition of being the daughter of the late, great Johnny Cash. Ms. Cash has fought the conventions of traditional country to develop a sound and spirit that is uniquely her own—paying homage to her rustic roots, yet expanding the limits by which her music can be defined. For much of her eclectic career, the Grammy-award winner has sought to spread her wings beyond the confines of the country music genre—infusing her rich and soulful tunes with influences from pop, rock, soul, and R&B. And the deep reflection her music has on her identity and origin has never failed to please critics and the public. Set into motion by her self-titled album in 1978, this extraordinary songwriter’s career has been glittered with charttopping singles and fan favorites which dance across musical genres—including “Seven Year Ache” and “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me.”
RO S A N N E CASH Cash came back in January 2014 with the new album The River & The Thread—a reflective collection of tunes evocative of the many flavors of the American south, which was inspired by road trips from Alabama to Tennessee. Praised as “a captivating and sometimes haunting album that’s among the finest of her career” by USA Today, the album features the mature and thoughtful side of this singer/ songwriter, and never fails to charm her audience. In her The River & The Thread concert tour, Cash has once again teamed up with visual artist D.J. Mendel to create a multimedia environment that visually brings to life the music’s journey through the South. As AllMusic exclaimed, “she’s learned to make every word and every note count…she’s matured into a singular artist with the talent and the vision to make these stories of her travels in the South come to vivid and affecting life.” Come along on her musical journey this September. 2

JAY LENO During a talk show host career that spanned over 20 years, Jay Leno has become one of the most recognizable and lauded comedy personalities in the United States. A night filled with laughter is guaranteed everywhere he goes, and Bloomington won’t be an exception. At his performance at IU Auditorium, the king of late night returns to his stand-up comedy roots for an evening of yuks, guffaws, and downright fun. For more than two decades, this Television Hall of Fame inductee’s performances have never failed to amuse his audiences, regardless of their age or station, and because of which, he has become one of the most loved stand-up comedians—with a tongue-in-cheek humor that is warm, relatable, and playfully pokes fun at pop culture and current events. Jay has the magical ability to tune into an audience’s thoughts to predict the issues at the forefront of viewers’ minds, turning them into fodder for his famous one-liners. Conquering the seismic generational shift, Leno attracts both baby boomers and their grandkids, a feat that has sustained him in the number one position in late-night ratings for years on end. Completing his 22-year run as The Tonight Show host in February 2014, his farewell drew a record-breaking viewership at more than 14 million viewers. However, Jay is not stopping there. Using his newly-found freedom from the nightly-television routine, Jay returns to the place that started it all—alone on stage, armed with only a mic and his wits. This iconic performer has attained royalty status in show business, charming generations of American viewers, and IU Auditorium is excited to be among the first venues to welcome him back to the stage!

DENNIS JAMES HOSTS HALLOWEEN The world’s greatest cinema organist is coming back to his alma mater to give one of the most exhilarating performances in IU Halloween history. Spice up your Halloween with one of the most unique theatrical events around as IU alum Dennis James accompanies the playfully spooky 1924 silent film The Hands of Orlac!
With his virtuosic organ and theremin artistry, James has built his reputation as the most acclaimed film accompanist—using musical instruments and electronic sound effects to triple the thrill of silent films. His dynamic music becomes the centerpiece of every screening, for which he has received numerous standing ovations. With his one-of-a-kind musical mastery and on-stage charm, James has ignited multiple Halloween seasons at IU, never failing to impress movie fans. The Hands of Orlac follows the tale of a famous concert pianist who is severely injured in a train wreck that fractures his skull and mutilates his hands. After having his ruined hands replaced with the hands of a recently executed murderer, the pianist falls into melancholy, constantly questioning his sanity. Who is that strange man who is shadowing him? Why do his hands seem to have a life of their own? Following the psychological melodrama style and avoiding horror clichés, the movie features marvelous set pieces and a mesmerizing performance of Conrad Veidt as the frantic Orlac. This family-friendly event is a Halloween experience like no other. As Peter Mintun, New York pianist and cultural historian claimed, “Dennis James’ choice of music subconsciously guides the listener into many moods, tension, bliss, excitement, despair, terror, and hilarity”—what a perfect Halloween treat! 6

ANYTHING GOES All aboard for the saucy and splendid new production of Anything Goes—winner of three 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and Best Choreography. One of the greatest musicals in theatre history, Cole Porter’s first-class musical comedy is sailing across the country and pulling into port at IU Auditorium this November. Based on the celebrated Roundabout Theatre Company’s production, The New York Times hails it a “musicalcomedy joy,” and USA Today calls it “glorious and exuberant!” When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise, and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Cole Porter’s iconic score accelerates this fast-paced musical voyage, peppering the timeless classic with some of musical theatre’s most memorable standards, including “I Get a Kick out of You” and “You’re the Top.” And of course, this tale wouldn’t be complete without top-notch dancing and jaw-dropping production numbers like “Blow, Gabriel, Blow!” and the title number “Anything Goes.” Anything Goes is a shining example of classic musical theatre, complete with amazing tap numbers, campy jokes, unlikely happy endings, and eminently hummable songs. For those seeking a deliriously giddy night of light-hearted musical-comedy gold, don’t miss what the Associated Press exclaims as, “So delightful, so delicious, so DE-LOVELY!”

STRAIGHT NO CHASER If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses…think again. Straight No Chaser is neither straight-laced nor straight-faced. Tight vocals and loose humor have catapulted these IU-born musical masterminds from local legends to international superstars—leaving in their wake a slew of charttopping albums including 2008’s Holiday Spirits, 2009’s Christmas Cheers, as well as 2010’s With a Twist—which debuted on the Billboard 200 at #29.
This year saw the release of Under the Influence—SNC’s first full-length departure from holiday music, although it was followed by Under the Influence: Holiday Edition to satiate those craving more holiday-themed SNC hits. This high-octane album collection features guest appearances by stars including Paul McCartney, Colbie Caillat, Cee Lo Green, and Otis Redding. Year after year, SNC keeps getting better at what they do best: captivating audiences with their tight, clever harmonies, and winning them over with their tongue-in-cheek charm. This assortment of top-notch singers sets itself apart from other a cappella groups with its contemporary repertoire and dynamic approach. Their a cappella concerts, which reverberate pure entertainment, prompted The Trades to write, “Straight No Chaser endeared themselves to fans with ‘we-don’t-take-ourselves-as-seriously-as-we-do-our-music’ antics, good humor, and heartfelt moments of self-admission.” This year’s concert, just in time for the holidays, is sure to highlight everything we have come to love about SNC, filling the night with festive holiday favorites, surprising pop arrangements, and vocals that will knock your socks off. Join us in welcoming home some of IU’s best performers for an evening of non-stop entertainment!

This season’s engagement brings with it a whole new experience for fans of the ensemble, as it is headed by one of the world’s most ˚ up-and-coming young conductors, Jakub Hruša—best known for his work as music director of the Prague Philharmonia—as the special guest conductor. MEMPHIS Turn up that dial! From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, comes a hot new Broadway musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs, and a thrilling tale of fame, forbidden love, and a fight to change the world. Inspired by actual events, Memphis is about a white radio DJ driving to break the music world free of its racial prejudices, and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Loved by audiences and critics alike, Memphis is the winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical, and features a Tony-winning book by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) and a Tony-winning original score with music by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan.
The New York Times calls Memphis “a sincere new musical with plenty of energetic choreography and a talented, appealing, hard-charging cast that holds the attention. It evokes the powerhouse funk of James Brown, the hot guitar riffs of Chuck Berry, the smooth harmonies of The Temptations, and the silken, bouncy pop of the great girl groups of the period.” Come along on the incredible journey of these two inspirational rebels as they fight for life, love, and music, from the depths of dingy nightclubs to the ends of the airwaves. Filled with high-octane dancing, songs that perfectly capture the 1950s era, and an absorbing tale of fame and forbidden love, this show will have you from the first note to the final curtain—capturing your hearts with soaring emotion and roof-raising rock ‘n’ roll.

6. Purchase tickets for family and friends
Gold Subscribers can add tickets for friends and family to their order. If you know that your friends would be interested in seeing Jersey Boys, for example, simply add their requests to your order and extend your great subscriber benefits to them.
7. 50/50 Payment Option
Gold Subscribers are entitled to take advantage of the convenient 50/50 Payment Option in order to secure great seats. Just check the Payment Option box on the order form or online, and 50% of your total subscription order will be billed to your credit card when your order is received. The remaining 50% and an additional $10 handling fee will be automatically billed to your card on August 1, 2014.
8. Free ticket insurance
Lost tickets will be reissued at no charge (saving $5 for each lost ticket).
Silver Subscriber seats are selected before tickets go on sale to the general public in August. You’ll be guaranteed better seats for the shows you want to see. (Note: Your order will be filled at the beginning of August in the order in which it is received. Prior to August, only seats for Gold Subscribers will be selected.)

Prices in this brochure are subject to change, so placing your order before single tickets go on sale to the general public locks in your prices for all the shows you order now.
3. No lines
Order online, by phone, mail, or in person at the box office and avoid long lines on the single ticket on-sale date in August. Just place your order, and your tickets will be sent to your home address.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Can I order tickets online?
Can I sit with my friends?
Yes, just visit IUauditorium.com for full details about our online ordering services.
Yes. There are two ways in which you can place this type of order. You can simply order all tickets on a single order form with one method of payment. Alternatively, if you are a Gold Subscriber (see page 32 for subscriber benefits) you may submit up to four order forms together with separate methods of payment. EACH order is charged an additional $10 service fee. All orders to be combined must be submitted to the box office at the same time, either in person or mailed together in the same envelope. Orders are filled according to the newest subscriber’s priority number.
What’s the difference between a Gold and Silver Subscription? A Gold Subscription is an order with at least one ticket to five or more event titles. Benefits include first priority seating, exclusive Sit with Friends service, and free ticket exchange (see subscriber benefits, page 32). Becoming a Gold Subscriber is the way to ensure you get the best available seats. Silver Subscribers order at least one ticket to one to four event titles. Becoming a Silver Subscriber ensures good seats, even if you only want to attend a few shows. Plus, you’ll avoid long lines and your tickets will be sent to your home address. (Note: Silver Subscriber orders will be filled in August in the order in which they are received. Prior to August, only seats for Gold Subscriber orders will be selected.) What if the seating area I select is sold out? If this happens, you will be contacted by our box office staff and provided with additional options. If you are placed in a lower-priced seating level, the difference in price will be refunded. What kinds of accessibility services are offered by the Auditorium? We strive to accommodate all of our guests. If you require wheelchair-accessible seating or have other special needs, please contact the box office at (812) 855-1103. Limited space in front of IU Auditorium around Showalter Fountain has been designated as accessible parking for those with handicapped permits. In addition, amplification headsets are available upon request at all performances. Large-print and Braille programs and audio descriptions are also available for each event with 14-day advance notice. For more information, please contact Guest Services at (812) 855-5739. How do I get the IU Bloomington student discount? Each IU Bloomington student with a current, valid CampusAccess student ID may redeem one student-priced ticket per event for their personal use. Simply ask for a student-priced ticket at our box office window, or mark the student-priced option when purchasing online. Although the student need not be present at the time of purchase, they will be required to present their student ID upon entry. Those without ID upon entry may be asked to return to the box office in order to upgrade their ticket for the general admission price. I’m a student, but not an IU Bloomington student. Can I still receive a student discount? We’re sorry, but only students enrolled on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University may use a student-price ticket to gain admission.

Do I have to pay all at once? When you become a Gold Subscriber by choosing five or more event titles, you are entitled to take advantage of the convenient 50/50 Payment Option in order to secure your great seats. Just check the Payment Option box on the order form or online, and 50% of your total subscription order will be billed to your credit card when your order is received. The remaining 50% and an additional $10 handling fee will be automatically billed to your card on August 1, 2014. It’s one of great benefits of becoming a Gold Subscriber! (See page 32 for the other great subscriber benefits.) Can I pay by bursar billing online and over the phone? Yes. By using bursar billing for your order, your tickets will be mailed to the address on file. Is IU payroll deduction available? Yes. The minimum order for IU payroll deduction is $100. The deadline for payroll deduction is August 29, 2014. What is the $2.50 facility fee that is included in each ticket price? IU Auditorium collects $2.50 from each ticket sale for any event held at IU Auditorium and places it into a special account. Funds in this account are used for facility capital purchases and improvements. The funds are also used to pay for repairs and maintenance. This means of financial support helps ensure IU Auditorium will continue to be a source of community pride for many years to come. For more facility information, visit IUauditorium.com.

EXAMPLE
This student wants to order 4 tickets to the performance of CHIMES OF CHRISTMAS (2 adult tickets, 1 IUB student ticket, and 1 child ticket). She writes the date on her order form and fills in the circle for the seating area she wants. She then writes the number and total cost for each type of ticket she wants. If she wanted to order additional tickets in other seating areas (for her out-of-town friends, for instance), she would use a separate line on her form. ADULT
