Clothes = food = Bento In japanese cuisine ‘bento’ is a single-portion takeout meal, generally home-packed. Graphic space / Tangible world
4
This project is based on the idea that a graphic sign can be the transposition of a real sign. At the same time some parts of the tangible world can be syntetized in the graphic space. We worked in this direction because Bento is an on-line shop, so it needs to aquire a kind of phisicity to be felt closer by the customer. In the beginning we was using an elastyc thread. When a thread surrounds an object it can take different shapes, but the process keeps recognizable. After we worked to characterize the thread using fixed and moving parts.

Logotype
Dic Mono is a monospaced typeface, the Bento version includes black spaces and extra glyphs to compose cuts.
There are 20 glyphs with cuts, 10 for left and 10 for right. The starting points of cuts are aligned allowing a lot of combinations.
8
In the logotype the square element comes from a rectangle. In the application its edge matchs with the page edge to suggest a continuity.
