Concept

We analyzed the brief and isolated some keywords, for example blank, multiplicity and growth. We developed this world with other keywords and also an iconographic research. So, isolated some concepts we formulated three basic ideas: one modular, one generative, one dynamic. We created, like first thing, a structure with a typeface for the word “dot� and a point as a representation of the word. We arrived to two concrete projects. One based on the idea of adaptation (that it is abandoned) and the other (the final proposal) on the detail of uniqueness. For these reasons we decided to focalize the attention on the point, a point like a person, a point different like a different person in the community. But also the personalized point is represented as a fingerprint. So the dot of dot can be something different, maybe a triangle, or a square or maybe an element more concrete, figurative, individual. From here we have developed our work.

First drafts This is the starting point, the analysis and reflection of key world. From here, the iconographic research and the development of project through some draft.

Growth: a collection of images like metaphor of growth. Different possibility of lectures: human progress, natural evolution, computational growth, or genetic. We observed every possibility of this word.

One of first dot’s draft, only structure. Since early times we choose this possibility of the point after dot. We tried other possibilities but at the end we got this one.

Multiplicity: the same work wsa done also for this word. We have observed this concept and interpreted as composite, possibility of connection, individual into the complexity and also as modular.

In this page some ideas for dot as multiplicity, or typographic draft. In the corner we drew the possibility to study the logo in relation with different size of people.

Blank: this word could be dangerous, because the user and the people, in general, are scared by blank. But, it could have some positive concepts like the idea of thought space.

In the first page some sketches of dot’s variation, each symbol is inspired by typographic points. In the left top corner of the page a possible name for the service typography. In the second page other draft of logo.

Two ideas

We have developed both these projects and when we were asked to choose one proposal, we preferred the second one due to the possibilities that it could offer to us. And we abandoned the other because of various problems that it involved.

We focalized our attention on these two ideas. The first project would represent different size of different people, the concept of adaptation. We will explain (talk about) the second one later.

Evolutions > First step

The evolution concerns two elements: typography and the symbol as a point. From Feijoa typeface we worked to obtain our final logo. For the points we started with the possibility of using typographic dots, then we decided to use different abstract symbols until we arrived to use concrete images. > Second step

In the current page we showed every element of the final logo: structure, typography, colors and method of element’s filing. Every year the society can select five icons to associate to the brand, the following year these icons are stored in the texture and new five icons are selected.

Stationery Then if every year we have five different logo, we will also have five typologies of stationery. We selected three of them and we reproduce letterhead, envelope and visiting card. Each of them has in front the symbol alone and the whole logo in the bottom, and the texture in the back.

In this case we have a reduction of two kind of stationery in the next page they are reproduced in their real dimensions.

Packaging

Website

For the boxes we choose a packaging similar to a mailbox, like something of bundle. This pack has an hole that shows us the color of the content, but the dress is protected with a transparent film. Every pack is closed using a sticker. On it there are the logo and the characteristics of the dress.

In the website we have combined and tested logo and photos for the first time, and in the next page we have the result. We created other icons expressly for the navigation of the site and other to personalize my vest. The photo like the one in the site must be powerful of colors.

Storyboard For the animation of dot we thought about a monitor full of coloured symbols forming a texture. Slowly icons disappear and in a first moment only symbols of the current year remain in different colors, then only five remain and at the end there is only one left. Only now the final logo appears.

Special event > Logo for rugby event

In conclusion we assumed the possibility to change the symbol of the logo only in occasion of a special event. Every event must have its own personalized logo. In the next page an example for a rugby event.
