Orientation Housing: Students You are welcome to stay on campus the night before your program. Students are housed in Wright Residence Center. You may sign in for housing upon your arrival; there is an additional housing fee of $35 per night which will be billed to you though the Office of the Bursar with your first tuition bill. No reservations are necessary. If you are on campus the night before and would like to meet other students or talk to staff, this is a great chance to do so. Ask about activities happening in the residence center and on campus that evening.

You’ll want to have breakfast prior to the program and may choose to bring money for snacks. Throughout New Student Orientation, you and your parents will have separate sessions. Parents will have free time in the afternoon while you complete individual advising and registration. Bringing young children is not recommended, as the program is designed for adults.

Placement Exams Mathematics Skills Assessment (MSA) You need to plan to take the MSA unless you have IU Bloomington credit in MATH-M 211 OR both MATH-M 118 AND MATH-M 119. Visit onestart.iu.edu to view your “Credit Transfer Report” if you’re unsure. You do not need to arrive early for this exam. Optional Exams: Foreign Language, Biology, and Calculus These exams may provide advanced placement or IU Bloomington credit.
