Next Stop: New Student Orientation How do you become an official IU Hoosier? First, you attend the required two-day New Student Orientation program in Bloomington this summer. It’s a great way to connect with campus: you’ll learn what it means to be an IU student, you’ll meet with an advisor and register for classes, you’ll hear from an IU faculty member, and you’ll connect with current students. You can even spend the night in a residence hall with other new students and our staff. Now that’s a true orientation to college life.
First Things First Now that you’ve been admitted to IU, there are a few things you need to do:
1 2 3
Pay your $100 enrollment deposit through the IU Office of Admissions at intenttoenroll.indiana.edu. You won’t be able to reserve your space at New Student Orientation until your deposit is processed. Check out the Office of First Year Experience Programs website: fye.indiana.edu. It’s your source for helpful information about our programs, resources, and events. Start watching your mailbox in March for your official New Student Orientation invitation. It will give you all the details, including instructions on how to reserve a spot through our website: fye.indiana.edu.
Orientation for Parents Your family is important to your success. That’s why New Student Orientation includes a program just for parents, to connect them with IU resources, programs, and support services. Parents are also encouraged to check out our website: fye.indiana.edu.
