Important Greek Organization Information for New Students IU and its Greek-letter organizations want new students to focus their immediate attention on academics and the transition to college. For this reason, first-year students (regardless of gender) are not allowed to attend Greek social functions during Welcome Week or the first two weeks of classes, whether or not they plan to participate in recruitment. Don’t jeopardize your future involvement with the Greek community by trying to move too quickly.

Get Smart—Play the IU Welcome Week Hunt! Explore campus on a scavenger hunt using Instagram! You’ll learn your way around campus and find valuable resources to make your first year experience the best it can be. During Welcome Week, take part in the hunt on your own or with a partner using the camera on your smart phone. The more hunt items you find, the bigger the prizes you’ll be eligible for. There will be drawings during the IU Explore Majors & More Fair for prizes ranging from water bottles and T-shirts to gift certificates to local businesses. Learn more at go.iu.edu/HK7.
