Los Cabos has positioned itself as one of the most exclusive and most preferred destinations in Mexico; travelers from all nationalities choose it to enjoy their vacations. In 2017 alone, around 3 million people visited this port and according to data from Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), during the first quarter of 2018, our destination showed an increase of 7% in the arrival of passengers by air, compared with the same period last year. After clearing this you can claim your luggage and proceed through customs to declare any goods. At customs, you will press a button on a light resembling a traffic signal. A green light means that your bags will pass through without inspection. A red light means that your bags will be inspected. COSTA RICA Great news for travelers in and out of Costa Rica! Our destination started 2018 with 96 thousand new airline seats. These fine results were obtained because air connectivity is a priority for us. It is also proof of our destination’s popularity when more and more airlines decide to include us in their routes, and every year our clients have even more choices to reach us.

In a matter of two years, the country went from one direct flight from and to Spain provided by Iberia, to eight direct flights from and to Europe: British Airways and TUI Airways from the United Kingdom, Condor from Germany, Air France from France, Edelweiss from Switzerland, KLM from The Netherlands, and Lufthansa from Germany. This year, the arrival of the airline Evelop was announced with a charter from Lisbon, Portugal, which will generate 3,268 seats from this new market. KLM added an additional flight on Sundays for the first quarter of the year, which represents an increase of 1,764 seats. Edelweiss has decided to increase operations this year, adding a third flight from and to Switzerland, which will start from September 30 and it is expected to add approximately 3,768 seats. This year too, Air France incorporated two permanent weekly flights between San JosĂŠ and Paris (Wednesday and Sunday) adding 27,972 seats in 2018. Planning to visit Costa Rica and need to select the best flight route from your city? No problem! Our experts in air connectivity will help you out. Getting to Costa Rica will be not only a great experience for your incentives group, now it will also be easier than ever!

8

But not only European airlines decided to increase their flights. Alaska Airlines airline will be fly daily during the months of June, July, and August 2018 from Los Angeles, California to Liberia, Guanacaste. The operations began on June 1 and will end on August 25, thus adding about 3,977 seats to Liberia. With less than a month of having made the inaugural flight, LATAM airlines incorporated a fourth flight from San JosĂŠ to Lima and connections, in March of this year; this will add four weekly flights thus generating 7,224 seats in 2018. Currently, our country offers connections from our main international airports to 70 about destinations around the world.

Three years ahead of schedule and in order to meet the growth in the arrival of tourists and airlines, the passenger terminal of Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste was expanded by 54,000 square foot. The renovations include the expansion of the boarding rooms, the luggage and reception area, the incorporation of an additional baggage transport band, the expansion of commercial spaces and administrative offices. Also, the runways were recently given a new layer of asphalt and other improvements. Between 2018-2019, the Limon Airport will receive an investment of over $2.6 million US for a new terminal that will comply with all international aeronautic regulations in order to continue promoting the connectivity of this province. It will be a sustainable building that will showcase elements of the Caribbean culture and will offer travelers a higher level of comfort. There will also be important improvements in the airfields of Guapiles, Barra de Tortuguero, and Bataan. Regarding ground transportation much improvement has been made through building and refurbishing highways and main roads. As for our vehicles, we work with the best suppliers and use the latest models in vehicles to transport our clients.

PANAMA

Panama is ahead of the game in the region when it comes to air and ground transportation, be it quality of infrastructure and availability or connections and airlines servicing travelers to and from Panama. In recent years a number of secondary airports within the Panamanian territory have been built or refurbished to give further impetus to the astounding economic growth of the nation. Altogether Panama now has 5 international airports, and over 100 total airports but of course the jewel of them all is Tocumen international Airport that has flights to over 90 cities. Panama’s Tocumen International Airport is the key hub for connecting passengers between North, Central, and South America.

10

International passengers in transit make up one-third of total passengers, the highest ratio for any airport in the world handling over 2 million passengers. Tocumen is going now through the third phase of construction which will be finished this year and be fully operational in early 2019. This impressive airport will have 60 gates, an additional new terminal building, more parking space and four new direct-access lanes to it. The investment in this grand-scale project is of $780 million US, which includes even the diversion of the Tocumen river. Among those international airports are Allbrook, Paitilla, ColĂłn, RĂo Hato, Changuinola, David and Contadora. Ground Transportation Panama has an excellent road network which is up to the level of any developed country. This advantage has been reinforced with the Metro of Panama, a metropolitan rapid transit system in Panama City inaugurated in April 2014. It is part of a master plan that provides two more lines, the second one is under construction right now. Construction officially started in September 2015. Originally, Line 2 had to be delivered in April 2019, but since Panama City is hosting the Catholic World Youth Summit in January 2019, construction is being accelerated and the new delivery date is December 31, 2018 in order to serve the one million tourists expected to attend the summit. As a result of the new diplomatic relations between Panama and China, a bilateral treaty has been signed whereby a high-speed rail line, a bullet train, would be built between Panama City and David, ChiriquĂ. This would be a game changer for Boquete and the surrounding areas of the northern mountains. A high-speed train will cut the travel time from the capital to the region and pose new development opportunities in the area.
