SMOOTH AIR C0NNECTIVITY
Cancun International Airport (CUN) is Mexico's second busiest airport and also the entry point to the Mundo Maya. Both major international airlines and charters have direct flights or connections to Cancun every day. It is estimated that by the end of this year this international airport will close with a historic figure: 23 million carried passengers. Terminal 4 is expected to open this month, and it is estimated to handle 9 million passengers a year; In the same way, terminal 2 was remodeled and it now boasts 3,320 square meters; its access was reorganized through 8 doors and it features services for people with limited mobility. This face-lift will speed up the transit of passengers and reduce the documentation process. These innovations are part of a 2014-2019 development plan that contemplates an investment of more than $ 5,565 million pesos. Southwest Airlines announced that as part of a global service expansion, it will add two routes to this destination, one from Columbus, Ohio and another from New Orleans, Louisiana, starting next season. These new routes are programmed to start April 14, 2018.

CENOTES – MAYAN TREASURES The word Cenote comes from the Maya dzonot meaning water cavern. To the Mayans, these places were sacred as they were their only sources of fresh water in the middle of the jungle. These magical spaces created by nature, gained these forms thanks to the calcareous soil that is in the Yucatan Peninsula; this soil absorbs the rainwater by storing it in the subsoil so as to create over the years caves flooded with the precious fluid. Three of the world's longest underwater cave systems are located in the Riviera Maya:

QUICK HITS ABOUT CANCUN & RIVIERA MAYA ✓ There are currently 18 new lodging centers that are under construction. They will open during 2017 and 2018 in Cancun’s hotel zone, as well as in Riviera Maya and the mainland area of Isla Mujeres. These projects will feature more than 3,700 rooms with five star service.
✓ Puerto Cancun recently opened its Puerto Cancun Marina Town Center project with more than 122 locations, featuring a wide variety of internationally recognized brands, restaurants, and cinemas.
✓ The opening of a new theme park in partnership with Nickelodeon is scheduled for the beginning of 2018. The theme park began its construction in 2016, and it is allusive to the most iconic characters in this cartoon house.
✓ With an investment of 20 million dollars, a new cultural center will be built in this destination. Its main attraction will be the Noa Noa entertainment center and a museum in honor of the late singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. In addition to the Noa Noa, the complex will include the Juan Gabriel Museum, a gourmet plaza that will pay tribute to Mexican gastronomy, and an auditorium for 1,200 people in its first stage. It will be located 20 minutes from the airport, on the road to Playa del Carmen.
