PRESIDENT’S LETTER You run. You hide. You ignore. You fight. You cringe. You cry. But you cannot forget. Each year, you must face it. Each year, you lose the battle. And each year, you must overcome it. We all dread this very thought, and yet we tender it in the back of our mind. Procrastination is a powerful weapon, and all of us wield it with vicious bloodlust, until the weapon is shattered. Yes. We can stall it, but we cannot avoid it: summer is ending. As we enter our last month of summer, we will shoulder disconsolate clouds of dissatisfaction and complain that summer has breezed past us. A month of summer is not the same as a month of school. The difference is, during summer, you will let your mind wander. Your mind will go explore the deepest and darkest parts of the ocean, the most extravagant and pompous locations of France, and the most heated and desolate areas of Virginia. But now, to prepare for the upcoming month of school, you must go retrieve this wandering brain. After accomplishing this arduous task of locating your brain, you will take it upon your pleasure to start(or complete) your summer reading packets(or if you’re a senior, college apps). I hope that was the most depressing three paragraphs you have ever read in your whole life. Now, you must be asking, “how do i alleviate this pain?” The truth is, there is no quick fix. But there is a solution: Key. Club. There is no better way to take your mind off the disturbing inevitability of school than to participate in the upcoming BHS Tennis Tournament, or the August DCM (if things don’t change, I’m going to get pushed into a lake with leeches in it. So if you would be so kind, go to the August DCM page, take your vote off my name, AND vote for someone else). Please enjoy your last month of summer. Toodleloo. With love and service, Mino Nakura

July DCM Recap! Hey Key Clubbers! Last Month, D28 and D32 came together on July 15th to make blankets for KCCP and hang out at Henry Moses Aquatic Center. Not only was it a lot of fun to screw around with Peter Ch’en (go ask Mino or the others), you get to hang out with other people who are dedicated to Key Club. ALSO SWIMMING AT A WATER PARK TOO. AND YOU GET TO GO EAT WITH PEOPLE TOO. So if you missed this one you should go to the one in August. I promise it’ll be fun. I think. Go.

At the end of July, Kiwanis held a BBQ Beef Fundraiser outside of Bellevue Square during the BAM Arts Fair where Key Clubbers helped to make the food that was sold to customers to raise money for charity! Here are some of the pics from day one (I wonder where day two is Peter)

BACK PAGE Hey Key Clubbers! Are you sad that summers almost over? Yes? Me too. But that’s ok cause you can still go to the August DCM and hang out with friends. Or sit on your computer all day because you have no friends (like me). Either way, there’s still a lot for you to do and keep giving to your community! In love and Service, Ivan Zhao
