PRESIDENT’S LETTER All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way I knew was this. One day when I was two years old I was playing in a garden, and I plucked another flower and ran with it to my mother. I suppose I must have looked rather delightful, for my mom put her hand to her heart and cried, "Oh, why can't you remain like this forever!" This was all that passed between us on the subject, but henceforth I knew that I must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end. If you actually thought I wrote that first paragraph, I am sorry but you have severely overestimated me. I am no writer. I am a troll. I eat billy goats under the bridge and have grotesque characteristics that make people vomit when they see me. I try to hide away from people because I don’t need to be in any more Scandinavian folklore. That whole first paragraph is from Peter Pan…. or is it Peter Ch’en??? Key Club is a place for students like us to mature and grow up. While Peter Pan is out in Neverlands flirting with Tinkerbell, we get to flirt with community service. I hope that you guys will all join us on our journey to maturity and service through Key Club. We’re excited for this upcoming school year and of what we can accomplish for our community. Kek, it’s more like what can the Newport board do to carry me, but still, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. We highly encourage you guys to get out this summer and volunteer with us!! It’s a great way to make new friends AND get you service hours in! There are myriad opportunities to volunteer this month, such as the Kiwanis BBQ, Froyo 5K, and the Dragon Fest. Hope to also see you guys all at the summer DCMs and the Seattle Rally! With love and service, Mino Nakura
